Adolescence is a period marked by a tendency to imitate behaviors associated with adulthood, including risky behaviors such as smoking. Smoking is a common habit among adolescents and can have negative long-term effects on health. This study aims to examine the relationship between parental supervision and family history with smoking habits in adolescents in Lemah Putih Village. The study used a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design and involved 144 adolescents selected through purposive sampling. The instruments used were questionnaires on adolescent smoking behavior, the level of parental supervision, and family history of smoking. The results showed that the majority of respondents were in the late adolescent age group (17-20 years) at 51.4%, mostly male (87.5%), and had a high school education level (53.5%). About 50.7% of respondents had a high level of parental supervision, while 61.8% had a family history of smoking. Moderate smoking behavior was found in 45.1% of respondents. Data analysis revealed a significant relationship between parental supervision and adolescent smoking behavior, as well as a connection between family history of smoking and smoking habits in adolescents in Lemah Putih Village. Therefore, strict parental supervision and awareness of family history play an important role in reducing smoking behavior in adolescents. It is expected that the findings of this study will provide insights for parents and relevant parties to pay more attention to supervising their children and reduce smoking habits among adolescents.

Menstrual pain is one of the most common health complaints experienced by many women and often interferes with daily activities, both in academic and social contexts. This study aimed to examine the effect of red ginger decoction in relieving menstrual discomfort. The research employed a quasi-experimental design with a One Group Pretest-Posttest approach. From a total population of 487 students enrolled in the Diploma III Nursing program, 15 participants were selected using purposive random sampling. The study was conducted over a three-week period, from May 7 to May 27, 2025, using an observation sheet as the research instrument. The initial pain level was measured before the intervention using the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS). Each participant who reported menstrual pain was then given 200 ml of red ginger decoction, and after 30 minutes, pain levels were reassessed to determine any changes. The Shapiro-Wilk test was applied to examine data distribution, while differences in mean scores before and after the intervention were analyzed using the Paired Sample t-Test. The findings showed that the average pain score before treatment was 7.53 and decreased to 5.67 after the intervention, with a mean difference of 1.89. The statistical analysis yielded a significance value of p = 0.001 (p < 0.05), indicating a meaningful difference. Therefore, it can be concluded that consuming red ginger decoction is effective in reducing menstrual pain intensity. Consequently, red ginger may be recommended as a natural alternative for managing dysmenorrhea, while educational institutions are encouraged to provide health education regarding the use of herbal remedies, particularly red ginger, for menstrual pain relief. Future researchers are expected to use these findings as a reference and further explore other variables in subsequent studie.

Improving caregiver literacy regarding early childhood development is a strategic step to ensure optimal child growth and development. This educational activity was conducted at the Mawar Integrated Health Post (Posyandu Mawar), Tampingan Village, Boja District, involving 20 caregivers as active participants. The series of activities were systematically arranged, including a pre-test to determine the level of initial understanding, counseling through a lecture method accompanied by comprehensive material delivery, interactive discussions that allowed participants to exchange experiences, practice of child development stimulation as a form of direct skills, and a post-test to assess improvements in learning outcomes. The analysis results showed that the educational activity had a significant impact on improving caregiver literacy. The average pre-test score of 53.25 (SD = 9.54) increased to 69.60 (SD = 10.30) in the post-test. The average difference of 16.35 (SD = 5.84) with a 95% confidence interval between 13.62–19.08 indicated a significant increase. The paired t-test yielded a value of t(19) = 12.515 with p < 0.05, confirming a significant difference between the scores before and after the program. The percentage increase of 30.7% indicates the effectiveness of the applied educational method. The recommendation from this activity is the need to develop an educational program that is carried out in a sustainable and structured manner, accompanied by mentoring involving health workers, PAUD educators, and support from the village government, so that caregiver literacy can continue to increase and optimal child growth and development can be guaranteed from an early age.

Social media has become an integral part of adolescents' lives, offering quick access to information, including reproductive health information. However, exposure to inaccurate information can pose risks. This study aims to analyze the relationship between social media use and adolescent reproductive health knowledge and behavior. A quantitative research method with a cross-sectional approach and chi-square test was used to examine the relationship between the independent variable (social media use) and the dependent variable (reproductive health knowledge and behavior). The study population was all 10th grade students (23 students) and 11th grade students (30 students) at SMK Tamansiswa Boja Kendal. A sample of 53 respondents was taken using an accidental sampling technique, consisting of students who happened to be present and willing to participate during the study. The results showed that the majority of respondents (56.6%) had low social media usage intensity. The majority of respondents also had a high level of knowledge (75.5%) about reproductive health, with an average score of 8.13 and a median of 10. Most respondents (66.0%) demonstrated positive reproductive health behavior. However, the chi-square test results showed no significant relationship between social media use and levels of knowledge (p = 0.673) or reproductive health behavior (p = 0.495). Although social media did not show a significant direct relationship to adolescent reproductive health knowledge and behavior in the context of this study, the high levels of knowledge and positive behaviors found indicate that existing educational programs, both in schools and from other sources, have been effective. Further research with larger samples and wider geographic variation is needed to understand other factors that influence adolescent health behavior.

Hypertension is a chronic disease that requires long-term medication adherence to prevent more serious complications. However, there is still a high level of non-compliance among hypertension patients, which may worsen their condition. One way to improve compliance is through health education based on animated videos, which can enhance patients' understanding and motivation. This study aims to analyze the effect of animated video education on medication adherence and blood pressure control in hypertensive patients at Sultan Agung Islamic Hospital Semarang. The study used a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group design. The sample consisted of 38 respondents selected through purposive sampling, divided into two groups: the intervention group (n=19) and the control group (n=19). The intervention group received animated video education, while the control group only underwent observation. Adherence was measured using the MMAS-8 questionnaire, and blood pressure was measured using a sphygmomanometer. Data analysis was performed using the Wilcoxon, McNemar, and Mann-Whitney tests to examine differences between groups. The results showed a significant increase in medication adherence and a reduction in both systolic and diastolic blood pressure in the intervention group compared to the control group (p<0.05). These findings suggest that animated video education is effective in improving medication adherence and helping control blood pressure in hypertensive patients. Therefore, animated video education can be recommended as a nursing education strategy to improve medication adherence and hypertension management.

This qualitative research investigates the influence of work motivation and work environment on employee performance within PT Yusen Logistic Indonesia's warehouse division. Through comprehensive interviews with maritime professionals, educators, and industry experts, this study addresses critical gaps in understanding workforce dynamics in maritime logistics operations. The research employed thematic analysis of semi-structured interviews with 45 participants across three stakeholder groups: operational staff, maritime educators, and industry professionals. Findings reveal that intrinsic motivation factors, particularly career development opportunities and safety recognition, demonstrate stronger correlation with sustained performance than monetary incentives. Work environment quality, including infrastructure adequacy and shift management, serves as a significant moderator affecting motivation–performance relationships. In addition, this research highlights that supportive leadership and open communication further strengthen employee engagement and commitment in high-pressure warehouse operations. Respondents consistently emphasized the importance of aligning organizational goals with individual career aspirations, particularly in a sector where safety and efficiency are paramount. The study also identifies that investment in ergonomic facilities, digital monitoring systems, and structured training programs reduces fatigue and error rates, thus promoting both productivity and safety compliance. The implications extend beyond company-level management to broader maritime education and policy-making. The integration of motivational strategies into vocational curricula can better prepare graduates for the realities of port and logistics operations. Moreover, the findings contribute to developing sustainable logistics practices that balance efficiency, employee well-being, and long-term organizational competitiveness. Overall, the research provides evidence-based recommendations for maritime vocational training programs, human resource management, and port operations strategies in Indonesia’s rapidly growing logistics sector.

Breast cancer is the leading cause of death globally, following heart disease and stroke. One of the most commonly used treatments is chemotherapy, which offers various benefits but also causes physical and mental side effects. One of the psychological side effects often experienced is anxiety. Extreme fear and the threat of death from cancer can affect adherence to treatment. This study aims to assess the relationship between anxiety levels and medication adherence in breast cancer chemotherapy patients at RSUD Semarang. This research used a quantitative approach with a descriptive correlational method, involving 110 participant samples. The questionnaires used for data collection were DASS-42 to measure anxiety levels and MMAS-8 to assess medication adherence. The study was conducted from June 30 to July 31, 2025, in the Oncology Center room of RSUD Sultan Agung Semarang. Bivariate analysis using Pearson's correlation test showed a p-value of 0.001 < 0.05, indicating a significant relationship between anxiety levels and medication adherence in breast cancer chemotherapy patients. The measured correlation coefficient of -0.325** shows a moderately strong negative relationship, meaning that the higher the anxiety level, the lower the patient's adherence to medication. Based on these findings, it is recommended that nurses in the oncology unit provide additional education and support to patients regarding their anxiety. Effective psychological support can help patients reduce anxiety and increase adherence to treatment, which in turn can improve the outcomes of chemotherapy treatment.

The development of tourism villages is an effective strategy to improve community welfare and support the realization of sustainable development at the local level. This study aims to analyze strategies for developing a tourism village through the Community Service Program (Kuliah Kerja Nyata/KKN), with a particular focus on creating a healthy, clean, and educational village in Ambarawa, Pringsewu Regency. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through field observations, in-depth interviews with village officials, community leaders, and local entrepreneurs, as well as documentation of program activities. The findings reveal that the implementation of the KKN program involved three main strategies. First, environmental hygiene and health education were carried out through socialization, mentoring, and community-based clean-up initiatives. Second, digital-based tourism promotion was developed using social media and online platforms, which increased destination visibility and enhanced tourist appeal. Third, local economic empowerment was strengthened by providing training and mentoring for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), along with the introduction of non-cash transactions using QRIS to facilitate modern and efficient payments. These efforts successfully fostered community participation, raised environmental awareness, and stimulated innovative approaches to tourism promotion. Nevertheless, several challenges were identified, such as limited program duration, low levels of digital literacy among some residents, and the absence of comprehensive regulations governing tourism management. Recommendations include establishing a formal tourism management institution (Pokdarwis), enhancing capacity through digital literacy training, and fostering sustainable collaboration among government, academia, and the community to ensure that tourism village development can progress consistently, innovatively, and sustainably.

Community service (PKM) is one of the pillars of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, aimed at improving the quality of life of society through the transfer of knowledge and technology. This study focuses on the strategic role of PKM in addressing the low literacy levels in Indonesia, an issue that directly impacts social-economic welfare. Based on literature studies, this article analyzes the relationship between PKM, literacy, and welfare, as well as identifying effective implementation methods. The analysis results show that PKM is not only limited to formal education but must also be solution-oriented, participatory, and sustainable. Relevant PKM programs, such as the establishment of reading gardens, digital training for MSMEs, and financial education, have proven effective in enhancing community literacy. Improving literacy, including digital and financial literacy, is an essential tool for empowering communities to access information, develop skills, and make informed decisions. Digital literacy, for instance, opens access to vast information, while financial literacy helps communities manage their finances wisely, ultimately increasing their economic competitiveness. Through a participatory approach, PKM can also encourage communities to be more actively involved in decision-making processes related to their welfare. Through PKM programs, academics can bridge the knowledge and skills gap in society, contributing to the reduction of poverty and inequality. Thus, literacy not only functions to enhance individual capacity but also serves as a bridge to better welfare, covering economic, social, and health aspects. Solution-oriented and sustainable PKM programs can be the key to creating a more prosperous and independent society.

Dental and oral health is still a significant problem in Indonesia. Riskesdas 2018 data shows that 57.6% of the population has dental and oral problems, while only 2.8% brush their teeth properly. This condition is a serious concern because untreated dental caries can develop into pulp necrosis and subsequently radical gangrene. Both conditions have the potential to cause infections that can interfere with people's quality of life if not treated immediately. This study aims to compare the prevalence of visits to pulp necrosis and radical gangrene based on gender and age at the UPTD Baturiti II Tabanan Health Center during January-March 2025. The research uses a quantitative descriptive method with a purposive sampling technique based on secondary data from the E-Puskesmas system. The results showed that the prevalence of gangrene radicals (7.2%) was higher than that of pulp necrosis (5.9%). Female patient visits were more dominant in both cases, namely 52.7% in pulp necrosis and 56.5% in radical gangrene. The age distribution showed that the age group of 20–44 years dominated in cases of pulp necrosis (42.1%), while gangrene radicals occurred more in the age group of 45–59 years (34.8%). These results indicate a delay in dental care that contributes to the progression of the disease. The high number of these incidents cannot be separated from behavioral factors and the low level of public knowledge in maintaining dental and oral health. Therefore, increasing communication, information, and education efforts at the level of primary health care facilities is essential to encourage public awareness. Early detection and timely treatment are key in preventing serious complications such as pulp necrosis and radical gangrene.

Hypertension is a non-communicable disease that significantly contributes to morbidity and mortality, particularly among the elderly. Patient knowledge about hypertension plays a crucial role in determining their adherence to medication, especially in taking antihypertensive drugs regularly. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the level of hypertension knowledge and medication adherence in elderly patients at the Sultan Agung Islamic Hospital Banjarbaru Polyclinic. This study used a quantitative correlational approach with a cross-sectional design. A sample of 35 respondents was obtained using accidental sampling technique. Data were collected using standardized questionnaires to measure knowledge (correct/incorrect scores) and adherence (using the modified MMAS-8 score 0–8). Data analysis included descriptive statistics, chi-square test, and Odds Ratio (OR) calculation at α = 0.05. The results showed a significant relationship between the level of knowledge and medication adherence (p = 0.002). The OR value of 17.33 (95% CI: 2.17–138.18) indicates that elderly patients with low knowledge have a much higher chance of non-adherence to medication compared to those with good knowledge. Based on these findings, it is recommended to develop targeted educational programs for the elderly focusing on increasing knowledge about hypertension and the importance of medication adherence, along with involving families to support medication adherence in hypertensive patients. This educational program could help improve the quality of life for the elderly by better managing hypertension.

Coronary heart disease is one of the major health problems that not only affects the physical condition of patients but also impacts their psychological state, particularly anxiety. Anxiety levels in patients with coronary heart disease usually increase when they are about to undergo invasive medical procedures such as Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI). Anxiety can be influenced by several factors, including age, gender, educational level, and occupation. High levels of anxiety may worsen the patient’s clinical condition, making appropriate non-pharmacological interventions highly necessary to help reduce anxiety. This study aims to determine the effect of spiritual support in the form of dzikir on the anxiety levels of patients with coronary heart disease. The research design used was a true experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group design. The sample consisted of 30 respondents who were evenly divided into two groups: 15 respondents in the intervention group and 15 respondents in the control group. The sampling technique used was total sampling. The instrument for measuring anxiety was the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS). The results showed that providing spiritual support in the form of dzikir was effective in reducing patient anxiety, with a p-value of 0.001. In addition, there was a significant difference in post-therapy anxiety levels between the control and intervention groups, with a p-value of 0.019 (p < 0.05). These findings demonstrate that dzikir, as a form of spiritual support, can be used as a non-pharmacological intervention to reduce anxiety in patients with coronary heart disease. Thus, spiritual support can be an important component of nursing care for patients in the ICU.

This community service activity aims to improve the literacy of residents in Penambangan Village through the implementation of a QR Code-based digital library at the Educational Center. The background of this program lies in the low level of literacy in rural areas, which is strongly influenced by the limited access to reading materials and the absence of library facilities. In the current digital era, the need for fast, easy, and affordable access to information has become increasingly important. Therefore, the application of simple technology such as QR Codes is considered an innovative solution to bridge the literacy gap between rural and urban communities. The method used in this activity was Participatory Action Research (PAR), which emphasizes active involvement of the community. The stages of the program consisted of initial observation to identify literacy needs, collaborative planning with local residents, implementation of the QR Code-based digital library, and reflection to evaluate achievements and challenges. This method ensured that the community was not only an object but also an active subject in the process of improving literacy. The results show an increase in reading interest and access to digital literacy, especially among young people. QR Codes installed at several strategic points enabled residents to access various digital reading resources using smartphones. Nevertheless, some obstacles were identified, including limited internet infrastructure and low digital literacy among the older population. Despite these challenges, the program successfully demonstrated that simple, technology-based approaches can significantly enhance literacy in rural areas. In conclusion, the implementation of a QR Code-based digital library supported by a PAR approach can serve as an effective alternative to increase literacy in rural communities. The success of the program strongly depends on collaboration among local residents, academics, and stakeholders to ensure its sustainability in the long term.
