This study identifies the role of shamans in local wisdom-based wellness tourism in Belumbang Tourism Village, Kerambitan Sub-district, Tabanan Regency. Shamans as traditional spiritual figures play an important role in wellness practices that combine physical healing, spiritual rituals and local ecological understanding. Using observation and interview methods, this research was analyzed based on the six dimensions of wellness in the Extended Wellness Model (Mueller & Kaufmann, 2001), and supported by data from the Global Wellness Institute (Yeung & Johnston, 2018) and the authors' perceptions of shamans. The results show that shaman practices support all dimensions of wellness, especially the spiritual, physical and environmental aspects. Travelers gain benefits such as traditional massages, herbal concoctions, and inner peace through rituals that touch on emotional and mental aspects. Shamans also play a role in educating tourists about the harmony of humans and nature through the responsible use of resources. Thus, shamans not only function as healers, but also as guardians of local culture and tourist attractions that strengthen village identity and support sustainable health and culture-based tourism.

This paper explores the role of Green Sukuk in advancing sustainable development in Indonesia, with a focus on its alignment with Islamic law and the principles of maqashid al-shariah. The research aims to examine the impact of Green Sukuk as a financial instrument in supporting environmentally friendly projects such as renewable energy, waste management, and green transportation. Using a qualitative approach, the study analyzes the legal, economic, and ethical dimensions of Green Sukuk, as well as its contributions to social justice and environmental sustainability. The findings reveal that Green Sukuk not only fulfills Islamic financial principles by being free from haram elements like riba, gharar, and maisir, but also serves as an instrument for equitable development by directing funds to sustainable projects that benefit society and the environment. However, the study identifies challenges such as limited private sector involvement, lack of in-depth project evaluation, and insufficient public awareness. The research suggests that future studies should focus on evaluating the effectiveness of Green Sukuk projects on the ground, conduct international comparisons to identify best practices, and enhance the role of the private sector and public engagement in expanding the scope of Green Sukuk. Ultimately, this paper contributes to the growing discourse on Islamic finance and sustainability, demonstrating that Green Sukuk is not only a financial tool but also a medium for social and environmental responsibility in line with Islamic teachings.

This study aims to describe and analyze the strategies implemented by the Environmental Agency (DLH) of Karimun Regency in managing waste and to evaluate the effectiveness of these implementations in the field. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document reviews. Findings reveal that DLH Karimun has developed and executed key strategies, including the formulation of the Regional Waste Management Master Plan (RIPSD), optimization of Temporary Waste Disposal Sites (TPS) with 3R principles, active collaboration with waste banks and community groups, and community-based education and socialization efforts. However, operational challenges persist, particularly in waste transportation fleet distribution, handling of the Sememal Final Disposal Site (TPA), and monitoring and evaluation mechanisms that remain suboptimal. Additional challenges include limited human resources and funding, low public awareness, and regulatory conflicts impacting strategic decision-making. Nevertheless, the strategies implemented have contributed to improvements in environmental cleanliness across several sub-districts and increased volumes of processed waste through recycling initiatives. Community involvement through schools, youth organizations, family welfare groups, mutual cooperation activities, and waste banks proved critical to success. The study recommends the adoption of digital-based waste management systems (smart waste management), capacity building for DLH personnel, community empowerment, and revision of local regulations to support sustainable waste management. This will enhance the effectiveness and sustainability of DLH Karimun’s waste management strategies moving forward. The findings provide valuable insights for policy formulation and practical implementation in similar regional contexts.

Green Open Space (GOS) plays a strategic role in modern urban planning, serving not only as an ecological element but also as a social, educational, and recreational space that supports the sustainability of urban life. Its presence is a vital necessity in addressing the challenges of urbanization and environmental degradation. This study examines and redesigns Taman Mandiri in Jayapura City as a sustainable urban park capable of accommodating various ecological and social functions. Field observations reveal that the existing condition of the park does not yet meet adequate public facility standards, such as the availability of interaction space, playgrounds, toilets, and parking areas. Through a sustainable landscape design approach, the park is directed to become an inclusive, efficient, and environmentally friendly green open space. The proposed design integrates the use of local vegetation, natural water management systems, and the enhancement of the park’s social functions. It is expected that this design can serve as a model for urban park development in tropical regions facing urbanization pressures and contribute to improving the quality of life in a sustainable manner.
