Cyber crime is increasingly prevalent with various modes, one of which is fraud under the guise of lottery prizes. This crime not only causes financial losses but also complicates law enforcement officials in terms of jurisdiction, especially if the perpetrators and victims are located in different regions, even across countries. This research aims to analyze how jurisdiction is enforced in dealing with cyber-based fraud crimes and examine the effectiveness of national legal instruments against the digital fraud mode. The research method used is a normative juridical approach with secondary data analyzed descriptively-analytically. The results show that jurisdictional enforcement in this case still faces technical and legal challenges, especially in the aspect of inter-state coordination and the limitations of domestic legal instruments in reaching cross-border perpetrators. Strengthening international cooperation and updating national regulations are needed to anticipate the dynamics of cybercrime.

The Constitutional Court (MK) Decision Number 55/PHPU.BUP-XXIII/2025 is an important precedent in the dynamics of regional head election law in Indonesia. The Constitutional Court canceled the participation of the North Gorontalo Regent candidate pair because one of the candidates was still undergoing a criminal probation period. This article analyzes the Constitutional Court's legal considerations and their implications for the principle of legal certainty and protection of voters' constitutional rights. This study uses a normative legal approach with a descriptive-qualitative analysis method of laws and regulations and Supreme Court decisions. The results show that the enforcement of strict nomination requirements by the Constitutional Court emphasizes the importance of compliance with the law in the democratic process, while ensuring that regional head candidates have proper moral and legal integrity, this decision also emphasizes that the election process is not only procedural, but also substantial in ensuring the quality of leadership that will be elected. In addition, this decision provides guidelines for election organizers, especially the General Election Commission (KPU), to be more careful in conducting factual verification of candidate requirements. On the other hand, political parties are encouraged to be more selective in nominating candidates, in order to avoid potential legal disputes that could harm public trust in democracy.

This study discusses the impact of plastic waste imports from the Netherlands on environmental security in Indonesia. The practice of cross-border waste trade has become a sensitive issue in international relations, especially when developing countries such as Indonesia receive an abundance of waste from developed countries. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through documentation and literature studies. The analysis focuses on regulations, dynamics of the recycling industry, and the ecological impact of incoming waste. The results show that most of the imported plastic waste cannot be processed safely and contains hazardous contaminants such as microplastics and heavy metals. This waste pollutes the soil, rivers, and seas, and enters the food chain through marine fish consumed by the community, thus threatening food security and public health. The state's response, although it has included re-export steps and policy revisions, is still weak in terms of supervision and law enforcement. In conclusion, plastic waste imports are a form of non-traditional threat to Indonesia's environmental security that requires stronger structural, diplomatic, and institutional responses.

This study examines the cultural diversity of the Batak people in North Sumatra through a systematic literature review of three core pillars: language, traditions, and social systems. Findings reveal significant inter-sub-ethnic variations (e.g., Toba, Karo, Simalungun), including linguistic diversity (V-S-O structures in Toba vs. complex affixation in Karo), distinct rituals (such as Saur Matua and Manulangi Natuatua), and kinship systems rooted in the Dalihan Na Tolu philosophy. Amid positive dynamics like digitalization of traditional arts (Tortor Martonun) and gender transformations, Batak culture faces critical threats: symbolic desacralization (commodification of ulos textiles), kinship disintegration (atomization of Dalihan Na Tolu due to urbanization), and erosion of transcendental knowledge (extinction of Hata Andung rituals). The study recommends a community-based participatory research (CBPR) preservation model, integrating local content curricula and geographical indication certification. A key limitation is the literature bias toward the Toba sub-group, necessitating urgent comparative studies across sub-ethnicities and analysis of digital media’s impact on cultural transmission.

Monopoly is a form of market structure characterized by sole control over certain goods or services. In conventional economics, monopoly is often considered as part of market dynamics that can be tolerated under certain conditions, such as natural monopoly. However, from an Islamic microeconomic perspective, monopoly is viewed more critically because it has the potential to cause injustice in the distribution of wealth and market access. This article aims to analyze the concept of monopoly in Islamic economics and examine its implications for market justice. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach based on literature studies, with sources from classical Islamic literature, the Qur'an, hadith, and contemporary economic theory. The results of the analysis show that Islam forbids monopolistic practices that are detrimental to society, especially in the form of ihtikar or hoarding, and encourages healthy competition and market supervision (hisbah). Thus, the principle of market justice in Islam is not only normative, but has a strong ethical and practical basis to prevent economic domination by a handful of parties.

The selection of the head of government is a fundamental aspect of the constitutional system that reflects the political and legal character of a state. Although Indonesia and Malaysia share similar historical roots, they adopt significantly different systems of governance. This study addresses two core issues which are about the structure and mechanism of executive and legislative power, and the impact of the presidential threshold and parliamentary coalition on governmental stability. Using a normative juridical method with statutory and comparative approaches, the findings reveal that Indonesia, under a presidential system, applies a nomination threshold to ensure political stability, yet it may restrict political access. Meanwhile, Malaysia’s parliamentary system is more flexible but vulnerable to instability due to coalition dynamics. This study recommends a reassessment of Indonesia’s presidential threshold for a more democratic process and strengthening of political stability mechanisms in Malaysia.

This research aims to understand the dynamics of social labeling of the Tasawuf Underground community in Ciputat and how this community responds to the stigma attached by society. This community consists of punk kids who previously received negative stigma due to street lifestyle, psychotropic use, and family conflicts. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method and data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. The results showed that the negative labeling of punk kids is not only based on deviant behavior, but is more influenced by appearances that do not conform to dominant norms. The Tasawuf Underground Community provides a safe space for the social reintegration process through a tasawuf-based spiritual approach, moral development, and job training. The theory of labeling is used to analyze how the identity of punk kids is renegotiated through community support, behavior change, and resistance to stigma. This research concludes that the social reintegration of punk kids depends not only on individual change, but also on changing the paradigm of society in seeing the potential of the future, not the past. The Tasawuf Underground community plays an important role as a reframing agent that allows the redefinition of the identity of punk kids from being labeled deviant to socially and spiritually accepted individuals.

The crime of defamation in the digital era has become an increasingly complex phenomenon along with the rapid development of information technology. This study aims to analyze the problem of criminal defamation from the perspective of Hadith At-Tirmidzi Number 1894 and Article 27A of the ITE Law. The main focus of the study is on the dynamics of criminal defamation in the context of information and media ethics, the role of hoax news that contributes to the rampant criminal defamation cases, and legal analysis related to both sources. The method used in this study is a qualitative approach with normative analysis of Islamic legal doctrine and positive legal provisions. The results of the study show that Hadith At-Tirmidzi Number 1894 emphasizes the importance of honesty and prohibits lying as part of moral ethics in Islam. Meanwhile, Article 27A of the ITE Law acts as a legal instrument to address criminal defamation violations in the digital realm. A comparison of these two sources shows that although Islamic law and positive law have similarities in maintaining individual honor, the resolution mechanisms are different. Therefore, this study recommends preventive measures such as increasing digital literacy and legal education to reduce the risk of defamation and increase public awareness of the ethics of communicating in cyberspace

This study aims to examine how the narrative of “lelaki tidak bercerita” is reproduced and internalized by young men through their personal experiences in family, friendship, and social media. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, the research involved four male students from Pendidikan Sosiologi, Universitas Negeri Jakarta as key informants. The findings show that hegemonic masculinity shapes men to suppress emotional expression from an early age, mainly through unspoken family norms and socially unsupportive relationships. While friendships and social media sometimes offer more fluid spaces, dominant narratives still restrict men’s vulnerability. Social media acts as a space for passive emotional validation, yet often reinforces old stereotypes. The impact of this construction is evident in hidden psychological burdens, emotional distraction, and indirect coping strategies. This study highlights the importance of creating inclusive and supportive social spaces where men can express emotions without stigma. By critically understanding the dynamics of hegemonic masculinity, society is encouraged to foster more empathetic and equitable social relations.
