As a communication tool, language requires precise rules in spelling and punctuation to convey messages effectively. Speaking means the activity of using a language. Language errors often occur due to language users who do not understand the language rules they use.  This study was made with the aim of identifying and analyzing spelling and punctuation errors contained in online news published by Sukoharjonews in the October 2024 edition. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method to collect and analyze data containing language errors. This analysis classifies the types of errors contained in the online news portal into two types of categories, namely the spelling error category and the punctuation error category. The results of the analysis show the existence of various errors such as errors in writing foreign language absorption words that are not italicized which is the most common form of error found, as well as errors in the use of punctuation marks which often experience errors in placing a certain punctuation mark. These errors can potentially damage the clarity of the message and reduce readers' trust in the news. Therefore, news writers need to pay more attention to spelling and punctuation rules to ensure effective and accurate communication. This research emphasizes the importance of a deep understanding of spelling and punctuation as part of the writing skills that journalists and writers should possess.

This study examines the impact of the 12% VAT increase on state revenue and societal welfare in Indonesia. The research aims to analyze how the policy affects economic indicators such as inflation, purchasing power, and fiscal stability. A qualitative method with a systematic literature review approach was employed, utilizing data from scholarly articles, online news, and related journals. Findings indicate that the VAT increase contributes to a 0.8–1% rise in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and significantly affects secondary and tertiary goods, while essential goods remain exempt. The policy is expected to enhance state revenue, enabling greater fiscal space for social and infrastructure programs. However, it also raises concerns about reduced purchasing power, particularly among low-income groups. The study suggests implementing compensatory mechanisms and targeted subsidies to mitigate adverse effects. This research underscores the importance of balancing fiscal goals with social equity.

The evolving threat of terrorism in Indonesia has led to the development of counterterrorism laws aimed at combating both domestic and international terrorist activities. Since the Bali bombings in 2002, Indonesia has enacted a series of legal frameworks, such as Law No. 15 of 2003 and its amendments through Law No. 5 of 2018. However, these laws have raised significant concerns about human rights violations, especially regarding the treatment of detainees, preventive detention, and arbitrary arrests. This study adopts a qualitative research methodology, combining doctrinal legal analysis and empirical data gathered from interviews with legal experts, policymakers, and practitioners. It critically examines the compatibility of Indonesia’s counterterrorism laws with international human rights standards, focusing on their implementation, particularly in relation to the fundamental values of Pancasila—the state ideology of Indonesia, which emphasizes social justice, unity, and human dignity. The results highlight several key challenges, such as the need for stronger oversight mechanisms, more effective deradicalization programs, and a comprehensive approach to online radicalization. The study concludes with recommendations for integrating Pancasila principles more thoroughly into counterterrorism strategies, strengthening international cooperation, and ensuring that security measures do not infringe upon individual rights. By addressing these issues, Indonesia can enhance the effectiveness of its counterterrorism efforts while adhering to its commitment to human rights and social justice.

This study explores the marketing strategies used by traders in Pasar Besar, Pasuruan City in dealing with changes in consumer behavior in the digital era. Data were obtained through semi-structured interviews and questionnaires, involving traders representing various types of products and marketing methods. Analysis was conducted qualitatively to explore key themes and quantitatively to identify patterns and trends. The results show that traditional marketing (direct selling) is still relevant because direct interaction creates emotional connections and increases buyer loyalty. However, this approach faces challenges due to the shift in buyer preferences to online shopping. Meanwhile, online marketing offers wider market reach, cost efficiency, and time flexibility, although its success is highly dependent on promotional capabilities and delivery management. The combination of traditional and online strategies has proven effective in reaching various buyer segments, providing significant sales increases. This approach requires careful planning to optimize the benefits of both methods without increasing operational costs. By understanding market needs and adjusting strategies, traders can maximize the potential of both approaches to achieve success amidst changing times.
