Marriage is an important aspect of social and religious life, regulated by religious and state laws. This study aims to analyze the legal consequences of marriages that take place without the presence of a marriage guardian, especially in the context of a prospective bride whose status is a convert. From the perspective of Law No. 1 of 1974 concerning Marriage and the Compilation of Islamic Law, the presence of a marriage guardian is an absolute requirement for the validity of a marriage. This research uses a normative juridical method by utilizing literature studies as legal material to examine more deeply the hierarchy of marriage guardians and the implications arising from marriage without a marriage guardian. The results of this research show that a marriage that is not attended by a legal guardian can result in the invalidity of the marriage, which will have an impact on the legal status of children and women's rights. The case of Rizky Febian and Mahalini's marriage is a concrete example that shows the importance of the presence of a marriage guardian in maintaining the validity of marriage. This research is expected to provide a good understanding of the importance of marriage guardians and the legal procedures that must be followed in marriage, especially for prospective brides who convert to Islam.

Anesthesia is an act of relieving pain when performing surgery and various other procedures that cause pain in the body. Anesthesia procedures include pre-anesthesia, intra-anesthesia and post-anesthesia. Nephrolithiasis is very common, causing immense pain and incurring huge economic costs. It is known that nephrolithiasis can cause post-renal acute kidney injury (AKI) through obstruction of urine flow, which is often associated with rapid decline in renal function. Nephrolithiasis can be treated by pharmacologic means, laser treatment as well as radiologic stone crushing with the help of electromagnetic waves, and surgery (4). In surgical procedures such as open kidney general anesthesia is more recommended than regional anesthesia because the position of the patient can cause the patient to feel uncomfortable and pain arises from diaphragmatic stimulation.

In the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0, the performance of the National Police, especially the Intelligence and Security Unit, is very important for maintaining public security and order. The increasing work demands in securing the stages of the General Election and Regional Election are one of the main challenges faced by the members of the Intelkam Police Resort of Kediri. The performance of the members can be influenced by several factors, including work discipline, psychological capital, and burnout. Work discipline is adherence to rules and procedures, and psychological capital is related to optimism and mental resilience. Burnout is physical and emotional exhaustion due to high work pressure. Therefore, the objective of this research is to determine the influence of work discipline (X1), psychological capital (X2), and burnout (X3) on the performance (Y) of the members of the Intelkam Unit of the Kediri Police. This research uses a quantitative approach with a survey method conducted on all members of the Satuan Intelkam Polres Kediri, totaling 83 respondents. The data analysis technique was preceded by conducting an instrument test, classical assumption test, and hypothesis test by calculating the multiple linear regression value, which resulted in the regression equation: Ŷ = 2.769 + 0.151X1 + 0.701X2 - 0.002X3. In the analysis of the research data, it shows that work discipline and psychological capital partially have a positive and significant effect on performance, while burnout has a negative effect on performance. The t-test value for work discipline, 13.477, is greater than the t-table value of 1.66342, and the t-test value for psychological capital, 16.475, is also greater than the t-table value. This indicates that both variables significantly affect performance. The adjusted R square value of 76.6% indicates that work discipline, psychological capital, and burnout affect the performance of the members of the Satuan Intelkam Polres Kediri.

This study is based on the phenomenon of anxiety that patients almost always experience before undergoing surgery, which generally arises due to limited information regarding the upcoming medical procedure. Anxiety is understood as a psychological response closely related to stress and can be influenced by various factors, including the patient's education level. Education plays a crucial role in increasing a person's general knowledge, particularly in understanding medical theories, procedures, and risks, thus enabling patients to make better decisions and reducing anxiety. In the context of spinal anesthesia, knowledge about the preparation, procedure, and side effects of anesthesia can help patients feel more mentally prepared. The main objective of this study was to analyze the relationship between education level and anxiety levels in patients undergoing spinal anesthesia. This study used a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional correlation design and involved 49 respondents selected through a purposive sampling technique. The data collection instrument used the APAIS questionnaire, while data analysis was performed using the Spearman Rho test. The results showed that respondents were predominantly aged 36–45 years (40.8%), predominantly female (53%), with the majority undergoing general surgery (49%), and having an ASA II health status (63%). In terms of education, the majority of respondents were high school graduates (67.1%), while the highest anxiety level was in the moderate category (83.7%). Spearman's Rho analysis yielded a p-value of 0.039 < 0.05, thus accepting the alternative hypothesis (Ha). Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between education level and preoperative patient anxiety during spinal anesthesia procedures. This finding confirms that increasing knowledge through education plays a significant role in reducing anxiety before medical procedures.

This study examines the concept of hibah (gift) in Islamic law and its implementation in the Compilation of Islamic Law (KHI) in Indonesia. Through juridical-normative analysis, the research investigates how Islamic law principles regarding hibah have been transformed into national legislation through KHI and evaluates their implementation in religious court practices. The findings reveal that KHI has successfully harmonized Islamic jurisprudence with national legal requirements, particularly through articles 210-214, which regulate hibah procedures including limitations on gift amounts, beneficiary rights, and documentation requirements. However, challenges persist due to KHI's relatively weak position in the legal hierarchy as a Presidential Instruction rather than formal legislation, creating potential conflicts with other regulations. The study recommends strengthening KHI's legal status, updating its provisions to address contemporary issues, standardizing hibah procedures, and providing judges with appropriate discretionary space to ensure both legal certainty and substantive justice in hibah disputes.

The loading and unloading process involves moving goods from one place to another, often requiring specialized equipment such as a wire crane. In maritime operations, unexpected incidents like wire crane breakage can occur. Wire crane breakage refers to damage in the sling wire of a ship's crane, reducing its lifting capacity and causing the wire fibres to unravel. During sea-based fieldwork on the MV. Pacific Bulk, researchers observed a wire crane failure during loading and unloading operations, which caused delays and financial losses. This study aims to identify the causes of wire crane breakage on the MV. Pacific Bulk and examine its technical and operational impacts. Using a qualitative descriptive method and fishbone analysis for data interpretation, the study found several contributing factors: wire corrosion, crane age, lack of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for crane maintenance, insufficient crew, inadequate maintenance, lack of routine inspections, and challenging environmental conditions. The research also highlights the technical and operational consequences of such failures, including delays and economic loss. To address the issue, the study suggests implementing scheduled periodic inspections following SOPs, applying regular lubrication, and maintaining data records of the wire crane’s lifespan. These preventative measures aim to improve operational efficiency and avoid future wire crane failures.

The land transfer process in Batam City requires a transfer permit from the Batam Supervisory Agency (BP Batam), considering that all land rights in the city are under the Land Management Rights (HPL) regulated by BP Batam based on Presidential Decree Number 41 of 1973. Land that falls into this category requires strict procedures and regulations, including the transfer of rights through a sale and purchase involving authorized parties. This study aims to identify weaknesses in regulations related to the transfer of joint assets, especially inherited land, through current sale and purchase. This study uses a normative juridical approach with a descriptive analysis of applicable laws and regulations, to explore issues related to the transfer of joint assets in the form of inherited land. The main focus of the study is to identify weaknesses in the regulations governing the transfer of rights to inherited land through sale and purchase transactions. The results of the study indicate that the regulations governing the transfer of joint assets in the form of inherited land through sale and purchase have several weaknesses that require attention. These weaknesses consist of three aspects: weaknesses in legal substance, weaknesses in legal structure, and weaknesses in legal culture. In terms of substance, existing regulations do not provide clear and firm provisions regarding the distribution of inherited land rights within the family. Meanwhile, in terms of legal structure, there is still a discrepancy between applicable regulations and current practices. Weaknesses in the legal culture include a lack of understanding and legal awareness in society regarding the transfer of joint property. Therefore, this study emphasizes the need for the state to play a role in protecting the legitimacy of joint property within families, particularly regarding the transfer of inherited land through sale and purchase in Batam City.

Pending claims in Indonesia’s National Health Insurance (JKN) system pose a significant challenge, affecting hospital cash flow and administrative efficiency. A high rate of pending claims is often caused by incomplete documentation, misfiled medical records, and delays in verification processes. Optimizing manual administrative procedures may provide a solution to this issue. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a standardized manual administration model in reducing pending claims in a hospital setting. A quasi-experimental pretest-posttest design without a control group was employed. Data were collected from a referral hospital in Indonesia from July to September 2024. A total of 138 inpatient claims were selected using simple random sampling. The intervention involved implementing a standardized manual administration system in August and September. Statistical analysis was conducted using Fisher’s Exact Test with a significance level of p < 0.05. The implementation of the standardized manual administration model significantly reduced pending claims from 70.3% (97/138) in July (pre-intervention) to 36.2% (50/138) in August and further to 11.6% (16/138) in September (post-intervention) (p = 0.000 and p = 0.003, respectively). Additionally, improvements were observed in medical record completeness, supporting examination documentation, and administrative accuracy. A standardized manual administration system effectively decreases pending claims in JKN by improving documentation and claim verification processes. Further research is needed to explore the long-term sustainability of this model and the potential benefits of digitalization.

Mahmud Village, located in Bandung Regency, is one of the indigenous communities that continues to uphold its customary laws and traditions amidst the tide of modernization. This research aims to explore and analyze the political position and role of customary law within this community, with a focus on how customary norms and rules are implemented, maintained, and passed down amidst the dynamics of social change and interactions with state law. Using a qualitative ethnographic approach, data was collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews with customary leaders, community members, and government officials, and a review of relevant literature. The research results indicate that customary law holds a highly significant and respected position among the residents of Mahmud Village. The customary figure, known as the "Kuncen," holds the highest authority in enforcing customary law, leading traditional ceremonies, and resolving various disputes, ranging from marriage and inheritance matters, ceremonial procedures, to mediation mechanisms between residents. Although customary law has strong social power, its application is not entirely independent of the influence of state law, particularly in cases that intersect with criminal law or national legislation. These findings reveal a process of adaptation, where the Mahmud Village indigenous community strives to maintain traditional values while adapting customary rules to remain relevant to current demands. This research confirms that customary law functions not only as a social regulatory system but also as a bulwark of cultural identity and a vital instrument for the sustainability of indigenous communities. Therefore, understanding and recognizing customary law is crucial for maintaining harmony between local traditions and the national legal framework.
