The use of regional languages in educational environments has a significant impact on the use of Indonesian. The findings show that the use of regional languages can influence Indonesian language skills, especially in academic contexts. In addition, the use of regional languages can also create communication gaps between individuals from different linguistic backgrounds. The implication of this research is the need for an approach strategy that combines the use of regional languages with strengthening the use of Indonesian as an official language in the educational environment. This research aims to determine the use of regional languages towards Indonesian, especially in the educational environment, as well as to determine and analyze measures to prevent the occurrence of mixed languages (regional languages and Indonesian). This research was conducted in an educational environment, especially at Medan State University. Through a quantitative research approach, data is collected through questionnaires that are direct comparisons between teenagers who often use regional languages and Indonesian simultaneously.

Language plays an important role as a communication tool for conveying thoughts and feelings. In Indonesia, Bahasa Indonesia serves as the unifying language that brings the nation together. Language users need to master linguistic skills, including the use of standard words and punctuation, to communicate effectively. Linguistic errors, such as improper use of standard words and punctuation mistakes, often occur in academic writing. This study aims to analyze linguistic errors in the scientific paper "Proposal Bahasa Indonesia" by Sundari, a student at Universitas Negeri Medan. Using a qualitative approach and a descriptive-narrative method, this research identifies and analyzes these errors. The results show errors in the use of standard words, punctuation, and writing in the paper. These errors include the use of non-standard words, punctuation mistakes, and incorrect spelling and sentence structure.

This study examines the effectiveness of Project Based Learning (PBL) in enhancing cross-cultural communication skills within international language education programs. As globalization increases, effective communication across cultures is essential, and language programs must equip students with these skills. PBL, a learner-centered instructional strategy, integrates real-world problems into the learning process, promoting student participation, collaboration, and critical thinking. The research found that students engaged in PBL showed significant improvements in communication competence, collaboration, and intercultural understanding compared to those in traditional lecture-based instruction. The study suggests that PBL not only enhances language proficiency but also fosters cultural awareness and empathy through projects involving cross-cultural collaboration and problem-solving. Furthermore, PBL offers a more effective platform for practicing language skills in real-world scenarios, as opposed to traditional methods focused on theoretical aspects. The findings demonstrate that PBL is particularly effective in international programs, where students from diverse cultural backgrounds work together to solve global issues, thus improving their ability to communicate and collaborate across cultures. The research concludes that integrating PBL into international language education programs significantly enhances students' cross-cultural communication skills. The study encourages educational institutions to adopt PBL and suggests further research on complementary strategies, including technology, virtual exchanges, and intercultural simulations.

Currently, education is a serious problem, where many factors influence the development of education. One of them is in the current era of digitalization of education, where some teachers still experience limitations in the use of technology, requiring them to rely on conventional pedagogical and professional skills. This study aims to analyze the professional competence of mathematics teachers in implementing meaningful learning without the support of digital technology in junior high schools. This study uses a qualitative method with a qualitative descriptive research type. Data collection techniques include interviews and observations. The results of the study show that teachers who have strong professional competence, especially in mastering the material, contextual learning strategies, and building good interactions with students, are able to create meaningful learning even without using technology. Real project-based learning, the use of simple teaching aids, and interactive communication are the keys to the success of a teacher. This study investigates the alignment between global competency frameworks and local educational practices, particularly in multilingual classrooms. With globalization influencing education, acquiring skills like intercultural communication and global citizenship is vital. However, integrating these competencies into local curricula remains inconsistent, especially in multilingual settings, where linguistic and cultural diversity pose challenges. Using qualitative methods such as curriculum mapping, teacher interviews, and classroom observations, the study identifies areas of alignment and misalignment. While global competencies are integrated into subjects like social studies and global health education, technical subjects like mathematics and science show less alignment. The study also highlights gaps in the development of intercultural competence and global communication skills, which are often underrepresented. Challenges like language barriers, the monolingual habitus of many schools, and limited professional development for teachers in multilingual contexts hinder the full implementation of global competencies. The study recommends improving curriculum integration of global competencies across all subjects and enhancing teacher training to support multilingual classrooms. Future research should explore regional variations in multilingual settings and how technology can aid in developing global competencies. Addressing these challenges will better prepare students for both local and global challenges in an interconnected world.

The integration of metaverse technology in employee training has the potential to significantly enhance digital skills, collaboration, and overall learning outcomes in virtual workspaces. This study explores the effectiveness of metaverse-based training compared to traditional methods, focusing on participant engagement, learning retention, and practical application in immersive virtual environments. The results indicate that metaverse technology leads to increased participant engagement, offering real-time communication, interactive simulations, and realistic task scenarios that foster deeper involvement and better skill acquisition. Additionally, the immersive nature of metaverse platforms improves learning effectiveness, especially for high-risk tasks such as medical procedures and technical skills that benefit from hands-on experience. However, challenges such as technological barriers, infrastructure limitations, and initial resistance from employees were identified, requiring organizations to provide adequate support and training for smooth adoption. While the upfront costs of developing and maintaining metaverse training platforms are significant, the long-term benefits—such as scalability, reduced need for physical resources, and enhanced training outcomes—outweigh these initial investments. Organizations looking to implement metaverse-based training solutions should carefully consider the required technological infrastructure, support for employees, and privacy concerns. Future research should explore advancements in metaverse technology, including AI integration, and investigate the broader adoption of these technologies across various industries, focusing on overcoming adoption barriers and measuring their long-term impact on workforce development.

The digital age presents both opportunities and challenges for Catholic communities. On the one hand, technology opens up a vast and easily accessible gateway to religious education, and facilitates communication and participation in various community activities. On the other hand, technology can also bring negative impacts such as reduced face-to-face interaction, superficial communication, and the spread of misinformation.   Building strong Catholic communities in the digital age requires effort and commitment from all parties. Community leaders need to provide proper guidance and direction, as well as utilize technology creatively to reach out to their congregation. Catholics need to actively participate in various community activities, support each other, and develop concern for relevant social and religious issues. Social media can be a powerful tool for building strong Catholic communities in the digital age.
