Muslim-friendly tourism (halal tourism) has become a global trend in line with the increasing number of Muslim tourists, both domestic and international. Ir. H. Djuanda Grand Forest Park (Tahura Djuanda), located in Bandung, is a popular natural and educational tourism destination frequently visited by Muslim travelers, yet it has not obtained official certification as a halal tourism destination. This condition raises a question of how far the available Muslim-friendly services can influence Muslim tourists’ perceptions. This study aims to analyze the effect of Muslim-friendly tourism services on the perceptions of Muslim tourists visiting Tahura Djuanda. The research employed a quantitative descriptive and inferential method with a population of 258,975 domestic tourists who visited during January–June 2025. The sample size was determined using Slovin’s formula, resulting in 100 respondents, with 59 valid responses collected through an online questionnaire using a 5-point Likert scale. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 27, including validity, reliability, and normality tests, as well as Spearman’s Rho correlation test. The findings reveal a significant relationship between Muslim-friendly tourism services (accommodation, halal restaurants, worship facilities, halal-supporting amenities, and tour guides’ understanding) and Muslim tourists’ perceptions, which cover aspects of self, perception targets, and environmental situations. Therefore, the better the Muslim-friendly services provided, the more positive the tourists’ perceptions of Tahura Djuanda. These findings highlight the importance of implementing Muslim-friendly tourism as a strategy to improve visitor satisfaction and strengthen the competitiveness of tourism destinations.

Coolcations tourism is an alternative tourism that utilizes the potential of nature with cool air, both in the morning, afternoon, and evening, thus providing a refreshing holiday experience for tourists. This concept combines recreational activities with the beauty and coolness of nature, making it suitable for tourists who want to escape the hustle and bustle of urban life. Based on the author's observations, Kuningan Regency has great potential in developing coolcations destinations, which include various activities such as camping/glamping, sightseeing, forest bathing, wellness tourism, star bathing, night time wellness, hiking, trekking, jeep adventure, motocross, and cycling. This study aims to determine the figure of tourist interest, especially those from Cirebon City and Regency, towards the trend of coolcations tourism in Kuningan Regency. The research method used is descriptive quantitative with a purposive sampling technique. The research sample amounted to 100 respondents who were tourists from Cirebon City/Regency. The research instrument used an online questionnaire via Google Form. Data were analyzed using univariate analysis techniques with the application of the Guttman Scale to measure the level of respondent interest. The study also emphasizes the growing role of technology in enhancing the travel experience for senior citizens. With the rapid digitalization of various industries, including the travel sector, the elderly population is increasingly using mobile applications to plan and book trips. However, older adults often face challenges in adapting to new technologies due to physical, cognitive, or sensory limitations. This study’s results underscore the importance of addressing these barriers in the design of travel applications for seniors. The ease of use and perceived usefulness of these applications are not just about functional features but also about how accessible and user-friendly the design is for older users. In addition to the perceived usefulness and ease of use, it is essential for developers to consider the specific needs and preferences of senior travelers, such as larger fonts, clear navigation, and easy-to-understand instructions. Ensuring that these features are incorporated can greatly enhance the adoption of travel applications among the elderly and improve their overall experience. The findings also suggest that fostering trust and confidence in technology among older users can increase their willingness to engage with digital platforms. Furthermore, future research could explore how other factors, such as social influence or experience with technology, interact with perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness to further explain seniors’ behavioral intentions toward digital travel applications. By addressing these factors, developers can create more inclusive and accessible services that cater to an aging population. As the digital landscape continues to evolve, it is crucial to ensure that seniors are not left behind, and that they can enjoy the same convenience and benefits that digital travel services offer to younger generations.

Batam City, as an industrial hub in the Riau Islands Province, plays a vital role in the region’s economic growth. However, a surge in inflation can affect investment interest, as investors tend to avoid areas with economic uncertainty. One of the main contributors to inflation in Batam is the food component, which experiences high demand, especially during certain periods such as religious holidays and the arrival of international tourists. Batam, which is not a food-producing area, faces significant challenges in meeting agricultural needs and currently remains dependent on supplies from outside the region. Geographic constraints, such as inefficient logistics, weather disruptions, and institutional weaknesses in the food sector, further aggravate inflation control efforts. In addition, hilly terrain and less fertile land limit the types of crops that can be cultivated, making food price stability critically important. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Low-Cost Market Operation Team Program (Tim Operasi Pasar Murah) in Batam City in 2024. The method used is Sequential Explanatory Design with a mixed-methods approach. Quantitative findings indicate that the average success rate of the program is 85.93%, with a target achievement rate of 90.12% and a satisfaction level of 86.11%. Qualitative results suggest that the policy of conducting low-cost market operations has been appropriate and carried out by authorized institutions, with strong collaboration between the government and the private sector. The program has succeeded in maintaining price stability ahead of the fasting month and Eid al-Fitr, receiving positive responses from the community and demonstrating good internal coordination. In conclusion, the low-cost market operation program in Batam City has been effective in curbing inflation before the fasting month and Eid al-Fitr. However, for comprehensive inflation control, relying solely on this program is insufficient. Additional strategies are needed to ensure sustainable food price stability.

Waste management is a major challenge in sustainable development, particularly in areas with tourism potential. Paya Jeget Village, Pegasing District, Central Aceh Regency, a developing tourist destination, is addressing waste management issues that require serious attention. The increasing number of tourists visiting the village has the potential to significantly increase the volume of waste generated. Without proper management, this condition can threaten environmental sustainability and public health. Therefore, a community-based waste management approach is needed that involves the active participation of all stakeholders, from village government, community leaders, tourism operators, and the general public. The objectives of this community service activity are to increase public knowledge and awareness about sustainable waste management, develop an integrated community-based waste management system, and establish independent community waste management groups to realize a clean and healthy tourist destination. Implementation methods include outreach and education, practical training, the formation of working groups, and ongoing mentoring to ensure the program runs consistently. The community service activities carried out on June 2, 2025 have achieved the following results: 45 participants participated in the outreach activities, 90% of participants understood the importance of waste from a religious and environmental perspective, the formation of collective awareness to maintain environmental cleanliness, the formation of a waste management group consisting of 15 members, the availability of waste sorting places at three strategic points, the implementation of waste sorting activities at the household level, and the start of organic waste composting activities. In addition, this activity also succeeded in fostering a spirit of mutual cooperation in waste management and improving residents' skills in processing organic waste into compost.

This study explores the influence of live streaming mode on the purchase intention of tropical fruits among consumers in Henan, China, in the context of the rapid growth of e-commerce. Live streaming has emerged as a dynamic and interactive platform that enables real-time engagement between sellers and buyers, offering visual product demonstrations and instant feedback opportunities. The research focuses on three critical factors affecting purchase intention: perceived trust, perceived value, and perceived risk. A quantitative research design was employed, collecting data from 392 participants through structured questionnaires. The analysis indicates that interactive communication, transparent information sharing, and authentic presentations during live streaming significantly enhance perceived trust and perceived value. Higher perceived trust fosters a stronger sense of reliability toward sellers, while increased perceived value motivates consumers by highlighting product quality, freshness, and fair pricing. Furthermore, effective live streaming strategies can substantially reduce perceived risks related to product authenticity, quality uncertainty, and transaction security, creating a more favorable purchase environment. The results suggest that the integration of engaging storytelling, professional product showcasing, and active audience interaction serves as a catalyst for influencing consumer attitudes and behaviors toward purchasing tropical fruits. This study enriches the existing literature on live streaming commerce by highlighting its psychological and behavioral impacts on consumer decision-making. In practical terms, the findings offer actionable insights for marketers and fruit sellers, emphasizing the importance of building trust, delivering genuine product experiences, and minimizing risks to maximize purchase intentions. These strategies are particularly relevant for agricultural e-commerce in Henan, where live streaming can bridge the gap between rural producers and urban consumers. Overall, this research provides both theoretical contributions to the study of digital co sumer behavior and practical guidance for optimizing live streaming as a competitive marketing tool in the fresh produce industry.

The rapid growth of Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) in the culinary sector in Denpasar City has made a significant contribution to the regional economy and job creation. This sector has become one of the key drivers of local economic activity, attracting both residents and tourists. However, despite its potential, challenges persist. Fluctuations in the number of MSE actors and the suboptimal use of social media for marketing hinder sustainable income growth. Moreover, poor decisions regarding business location and inappropriate pricing strategies often become barriers to achieving business success. This study aims to analyze the simultaneous effects of business location, pricing, and social media usage on the income of culinary MSEs in Denpasar City. A quantitative approach was employed using a survey method, in which questionnaires were distributed to 99 culinary MSE actors. The collected data were analyzed using multiple linear regression to evaluate the influence of each variable both simultaneously and partially. The results reveal that business location, pricing, and social media usage together have a significant effect on MSE income. Partially, business location and pricing show a positive and significant influence, indicating that strategic location selection and competitive pricing play crucial roles in increasing income. In contrast, social media usage does not significantly affect income, suggesting that while digital platforms have potential as marketing tools, their benefits remain limited without effective content strategies and adequate digital literacy. These findings highlight the importance of strengthening fundamental business aspects, particularly location and pricing strategies, to improve MSE performance. Furthermore, policy support and targeted assistance programs focusing on enhancing digital literacy and managerial capacity among MSE actors are essential. By addressing these areas, the culinary sector in Denpasar City can achieve more sustainable growth and contribute even more effectively to the local economy.

Karang Jahe Beach is one of the leading tourism destinations located in Rembang Regency. This area provides a great opportunity for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to develop and reach a wider market. One of the MSMEs in this area is Warung "Mbak Raisha" owned by Mrs. Inayah which has been operating since 2015. This stall is engaged in providing food and beverages for tourists. However, these MSMEs face various challenges in managing their business, including the lack of digital financial records, the lack of social media accounts as a means of digital promotion, the lack of a business logo, and the management of orders and product packaging that is not optimal. This condition causes limitations in terms of competitiveness, management efficiency, and marketing reach which has an impact on overall business growth and hinders the potential for future business development. Community service activities are carried out to help overcome these problems through strategies to strengthen branding and digital marketing. Some of the concrete steps taken are the creation of a logo as a brand identity, the installation of banners as a visual identity of the business, training on the use of social media (Instagram) as a means of promotion, the preparation of price lists, and digital financial recording using simple applications. In addition, education was also provided regarding the importance of attractive packaging to increase the selling value of products. The results of the mentoring show that Warung "Mbak Raisha" now has a stronger business identity, a more targeted promotion system, and more efficient management. This effort is expected to be able to encourage business growth and make MSMEs better prepared to face business challenges in the digital era.

This study discusses the strategy of expanding the local Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) market through the development of Tourism Villages as a solution to limited market access and low competitiveness of MSME actors. MSMEs in Indonesia often face obstacles in aspects of the marketing mix such as venues, prices, products, and promotions. Through a qualitative approach, this study analyzes the direct impact of Tourism Villages on increasing market access, product innovation, and the role of innovation diffusion in encouraging technology adoption by MSME actors. The results of the study show that Tourism Villages such as Pujon Kidul, Taman Sari, and Sokobanah Daya are able to become a catalyst for the local economy by attracting tourists as potential consumers, reducing operational costs, and creating an innovation ecosystem that supports the growth of MSMEs. BUMDes (Village-Owned Enterprises) play an important role in digital promotion, product packaging development, and strengthening the capacity of local business actors through training and mentoring programs. Moreover, Tourism Villages encourage collaboration between stakeholders such as village governments, educational institutions, and private sectors in building sustainable local entrepreneurship. They also facilitate knowledge sharing and cultural preservation while integrating economic, social, and environmental values. Although there are still challenges such as lack of managerial skills, limited access to capital, and dependence on tourism seasons, the potential for long-term impact remains high. This study concludes that the integration of Tourism Village development with MSME strengthening strategies can be a model for inclusive and sustainable village economic empowerment. These findings provide practical recommendations for village governments, BUMDes managers, and MSME actors in building effective synergies that accelerate local economic growth and resilience.

Small-scale economic activities, such as micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), play a vital role in a region's economy. MSMEs need to be protected and empowered to prevent unfair competition between businesses, especially those involving large-scale businesses. One example of an MSME with great potential is the amplang (rice crackers) manufacturing business, a typical souvenir from Balikpapan. Amplang has a distinctive taste and is attractive to tourists visiting the city, and has the potential to be further developed in the future. However, during the community service process, several problems were discovered among these MSMEs. One of the main problems is the lack of online product marketing expansion. These MSMEs still rely on traditional marketing methods, which are limited to direct sales or through local markets. However, with technological developments and high internet usage, the use of social media for product promotion can have a significant impact on increasing sales and market reach. To address this issue, market share expansion was carried out by utilizing social media, which has not previously been used by these MSMEs. Social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp can be highly effective platforms for introducing amplang products to a wider market, both locally, regionally, and nationally. Furthermore, this community service program also provides business development assistance by providing training to MSMEs in social media management, engaging content creation, and appropriate digital marketing strategies. With this introduction to online marketing and mentoring, it is hoped that amplang MSMEs in Balikpapan can better develop their businesses, expand their market reach, and increase their competitiveness in an increasingly competitive market.

Tourism is a sector strategy in encouraging regional economic growth, cultural preservation, and improving community welfare. Binjai City, as one of the buffer areas of Medan Metropolitan, has a number of areas that have the potential to be developed into leading tourist destinations. However, un-til now there has been no directed and integrated development strategy for areas that have this potential. This research aims to identify and analyze the potential for the development of leading tourist areas in Binjai City through the Mixed Methods approach, which is a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods. The focus of the study is directed at three strategic areas, namely Taman Merdeka Binjai, the Binjai Grand Mosque Area, and the Jalan Veteran Culinary Village, which have strong historical, so-cio-cultural, and local economic potential but have not been optimally exploited.Data was collected through a survey of 150 respondents consisting of tourists, MSME actors, local communities, and government officials, as well as in-depth interviews with 12 key informants. The re-sults of the quantitative analysis showed that the attractiveness of the area and community support re-ceived the highest score in respondents' perception, while infrastructure and the use of digital technolo-gy are aspects that still require special attention. Qualitative analysis supports these findings, where vari-ous technical and institutional constraints are still found that hinder sustainable development. The results of data integration show that the potential for the development of leading tourist areas in Binjai City is quite high in terms of location, cultural value, and support from the local community. However, to realize a competitive region, strategic interventions are needed in the form of improving the quality of infrastructure, digitizing promotions, and collaboration between sectors. Policy recommenda-tions are filled with institutional capacity strengthening, community empowerment, and the establish-ment of tourism development programs based on local and sustainable potential.

Lau Kawar Lake, a natural tourism area located on the slopes of Mount Sinabung in Karo Regency, North Sumatra, holds significant potential for the development of nature and culture-based tourism. However, the growth in tourist visits has not yet met expectations due to limited accessibility across various dimensions. This study aims to formulate strategies for improving physical, informational, and institutional accessibility in support of sustainable regional development. The research adopts a mixed methods approach, emphasizing primary data collection through field observations, interviews with key stakeholders and village officials, as well as surveys of 60 tourist respondents. Findings reveal that, overall, the three dimensions of accessibility are still rated as "fair," with average scores ranging from 3.28 to 3.36. The main barriers identified include inadequate road infra-structure within the area, lack of dedicated public transportation for tourists, limited official digital promotional content, and weak institutional coordination in area management. A synthesis of the quantitative and qualitative results indicates that the development of Lau Kawar Lake requires an integrative approach that combines spatial planning, community-based governance, and local policy interventions.Based on these findings, several strategic recommendations are proposed: (1) improvement of access roads and landslide-prone areas through Special Allocation Fund (DAK) for infrastructure; (2) provision of dedicated public transportation for tourists with fixed routes and schedules from the nearest city center; (3) installation of directional signs and visual information boards in aesthetically pleasing formats and bilingual language; (4) establishment of a Digital Promotion Team involving local actors and institutions; (5) capacity-building programs for the community in tourism services, home stay management, and culinary entrepreneurship; and (6) formation of a Cross-Sectoral Accessibility Coordination Forum for Lau Kawar Tourism as a medium-term planning and monitoring platform. This study contributes contextually to strengthening the accessibility dimension as a key prerequisite for advancing local tourism destinations towards sustainable, inclusive, and locally grounded development.

The digital design of cultural museums with an interactive and educational approach in Indramayu Regency aims to present a modern, innovative, and interesting cultural preservation space. This concept was born from the urgent need for a means that are able to preserve, document, and promote local cultural wealth in the midst of the rapid flow of globalization. The lack of cultural literacy among the public, especially the younger generation, as well as the loss of historical objects due to inadequate storage facilities, are the main reasons for the importance of developing digital-based museums. Through an interactive approach, visitors can actively engage with cultural collections using advanced technologies such as augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and interactive multimedia. This technology provides an immersive, engaging, and personalized learning experience, so that visitors not only see, but also virtually experience the richness of the culture on display. Meanwhile, the educational approach is designed to create an informative, collaborative, and fun learning environment, which is highly relevant for learners and the younger generation as the successors of cultural preservation. Indramayu Regency, known for its long history, maritime traditions, and distinctive coastal culture, has great potential to become a center for cultural education. This digital museum will utilize digital technology to document cultural narratives in depth, so that it can be accessed not only by local people, but also national and international tourists. With its strategic location in the city center, the presence of this museum is expected to encourage the participation of the public and tourists in understanding, appreciating, and preserving the local culture of Indramayu. Apart from being an educational facility, this museum is expected to be able to become a driver of local tourism that makes a positive contribution to the economy of the surrounding community. Digital cultural museums are not only a place for preservation, but also a symbol of a strong regional identity, reflecting the synergy between technological innovation and commitment to cultural sustainability in the modern era.

In Indonesia and many other EFL contexts, English is often taught in structured classroom settings that rely on scripted dialogues and controlled practice. This limits students’ exposure to spontaneous, real-life communication, reducing their ability to use English naturally and appropriately in authentic situations. This study investigates the pragmatic competence of Indonesian students during English interview interactions with foreign tourists, using Grice’s Cooperative Principle as the theoretical framework. Five video recordings were analyzed, featuring elementary and secondary students conducting unscripted interviews with tourists at Seminyak Beach, Bali. While the students generally demonstrated adequate grammatical control and vocabulary range, the findings reveal recurring challenges in sustaining natural and cooperative conversations. The most frequent violations involved the Maxims of Relation, Quantity, and Manner, with students often failing to respond appropriately to tourist answers, providing minimal elaboration, or speaking in unclear and disorganized ways. The results highlight the need for English language teaching to include explicit instruction in pragmatic skills, such as turn-taking, topic development, and interactional awareness.
