This article discusses the phenomenon of criminalisation of online gambling in society and its implications for the criminal justice system in Indonesia. Gambling, which is regulated in the Criminal Code (KUHP) Article 303 and Article 303 bis, has undergone transformation in line with the development of information technology. Online gambling, as a form of gambling that utilises the internet, poses new challenges in law enforcement and community protection. In this context, this study aims to analyse the social impact of online gambling as well as the effectiveness of the criminal justice system in handling gambling cases that occur in cyberspace. Through a normative approach and juridical analysis, this article finds that despite clear regulations on gambling, the implementation of the law still faces obstacles, including the lack of public understanding of the risks and legal consequences of online gambling. Therefore, synergy between law enforcement, government, and the community is needed to create more effective awareness and prevention of online gambling practices.

The digital media era is marked by a major shift in how information is accessed, produced, and disseminated. The internet and electronic devices such as smartphones enable anyone to become an information producer through social media, blogs, and other digital platforms. Media is no longer dominated by large institutions but also by ordinary individuals, creating a more democratic communication space. Digital communication enables the two-way exchange of messages in the form of text, images, audio, and video, accelerating the dissemination of information and strengthening collaboration across distances. However, challenges such as the spread of hoaxes and the ethical use of digital media still require attention. One form of active community participation is citizen journalism, where individuals cover and share local issues through digital media. This was evident in the OMK Week activities at Liwulagang Parish, which were documented by the OMK team through photos and videos. This documentation aims to preserve archives, serve as material for reflection, and expand publications to the congregation through social media, especially Facebook. The content shared emphasizes the spirituality, solidarity, and creativity of OMK, while also motivating the younger generation to become active in church life. To support citizens' ability to utilize digital media appropriately, journalism training was conducted to increase public understanding of the wise use of social media. The research methods used in this activity included data collection, outreach, and interviews, with results demonstrating the importance of open communication, feedback between presenters and participants, and active community participation.

Social media has become a new cultural space for teenagers to express themselves, interact socially, and form a self-image online. Trend culture on social media has become an important phenomenon in the dynamics of digital communication, especially among teenagers and the younger generation. Trend culture is a fluid cultural space where values, norms and identities are constantly negotiated through virtual interactions. Rapidly evolving trends through platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube not only reflect lifestyle changes, but also become a means of self-expression, identity formation, and the search for social validation. This research aims to analyze how adolescent identity is represented through trend culture on social media in interaction patterns, meaning construction, and user self-representation. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of digital observation of active teenage users of the Instagram and TikTok platforms. The theory used is Stuart Hall's representation theory. The representation is not singular, but rather fluid and performative, depending on social dynamics, recognition needs, and symbolic interactions in digital space. The results show that cultural trends, such as viral challenges, clothing styles, the use of visual filters, and the use of certain captions, become an important medium in the construction and representation of teenage identity.

This study aims to examine how the construction of sexuality is represented and perceived through Instagram social media. As a dominant visual platform, Instagram plays an important role in shaping body image, gender, and intimate relationships that are often influenced by popular culture, media algorithms, and prevailing social norms. Using a qualitative approach and in-depth interview method with six informants, this study found that the representation of sexuality on Instagram generally reflects ideal body standards, which can cause social and psychological pressures, such as body anxiety, insecurity, and objectification. On the other hand, some users also see Instagram as a space for self-expression, empowerment, and education, especially for those who have a critical awareness of the social construction behind the content. Perceptions of ideal sexuality also vary widely, depending on the cultural background, personal experiences, and visual preferences of each user. These findings emphasize the importance of media literacy and critical reflection so that social media can become a healthier, fairer, and gender-inclusive digital space.

In Indonesia, approximately 70 million people live in malaria-endemic areas, putting them at risk of transmitting the disease to others. Geographic information systems (GIS) are essential tools for mapping and visualizing spatial characteristics, as well as analyzing detailed information. GIS first developed in the late 1950s and has been used in various industries, such as oil and gas, telecommunications, as well as agriculture, forestry, and green open spaces (RTH). This study employed a narrative literature review method, synthesizing previously published information on GIS in green open spaces. The results showed that the classification of aerial imagery using GIS can be divided into two main classes: 'private green spaces' and 'others'. This study focused on finding a significant amount of urban green space in informal settlements, which cover more than 10% of the area. The increase in the number of informal settlements is directly proportional to the increase in private green space. The study also noted that poor communities have access to urban green spaces, which can improve their quality of life. Identification and management of green spaces in informal settlements can strengthen residents' self-confidence and reduce the gap between formal and informal areas in cities.

Urban street art has become a significant visual medium reflecting identity, resistance, and cultural memory within Southeast Asian cities. This study explores how street art in urban environments such as Jakarta, Bangkok, and Manila serves as a visual narrative, embedding local symbolism and identity expression into public space. The objective is to analyze how visual elements in street art communicate social, cultural, and political messages. A qualitative method is employed, utilizing visual semiotics and ethnographic observation to examine selected murals and graffiti. The findings reveal that recurring motifs, such as traditional symbols, mythological figures, and vernacular language, function as tools of cultural assertion and urban storytelling. These visual narratives not only document community histories but also challenge dominant urban narratives, reclaiming marginalized voices. The study highlights the role of street artists as agents of social commentary and urban transformation. Implications suggest that recognizing street art as a form of visual narrative contributes to a broader understanding of cultural identity construction in urban Southeast Asia.

The installation of sea fences in Tangerang has triggered significant environmental law violations, affecting coastal ecosystems and the lives of local communities. This study aims to analyze the legal aspects of these violations and their impacts on coastal law enforcement in Indonesia. Using qualitative descriptive methods, data were collected through observation and in-depth interviews with various stakeholders. The results of the study indicate that the installation of the fences was carried out without permits and environmental impact analysis (AMDAL), and resulted in decreased fish catches and loss of community access to marine space. Weak law enforcement and minimal community participation in decision-making exacerbate these problems. This study contributes to the understanding of the importance of integration policies, legal awareness, and the need for active community participation in coastal resource management. The implications of the research results underline the urgent need to improve collaboration between stakeholders and strengthen law enforcement for environmental sustainability. Suggestions for further research include investigating similar violations in other coastal areas in Indonesia.

Abstract This study examines the representation of Islam in the architecture of the KH Hasyim Asy'ari Indonesian Islamic Museum as a symbol of preserving Islamic history and culture in Indonesia. Using a descriptive qualitative method, this study identifies the symbolic and philosophical elements contained in the facade, interior, and circulation of the museum space. The results of the study show that the museum architecture adopts a post-modern style with a triangular pyramid shape that tapers upwards, symbolizing the majesty and sustainability of Islamic civilization. The concept of postmodern space is applied, with unclear boundaries between spaces, creating a continuous visual and functional flow, while providing a harmonious spatial experience for visitors. The arrangement of space and circulation utilizes the principle of postmodern space, where spaces appear separate but remain visually and functionally connected, reflecting diversity and inclusivity in the concept of Islam. The representation of Islam on the museum facade is depicted through a motif that resembles santri sungkem to kyai, a symbol of respect and closeness to religious teachings. The pyramid shape not only adopts world architectural designs, but also has a philosophical meaning related to the majesty, identity, and heritage of Islamic civilization in Indonesia. This study confirms that museum architecture is not only a work of visual art, but also a symbol of Islamic identity that is profound and historically and culturally meaningful.

Green Open Space (GOS) plays a strategic role in modern urban planning, serving not only as an ecological element but also as a social, educational, and recreational space that supports the sustainability of urban life. Its presence is a vital necessity in addressing the challenges of urbanization and environmental degradation. This study examines and redesigns Taman Mandiri in Jayapura City as a sustainable urban park capable of accommodating various ecological and social functions. Field observations reveal that the existing condition of the park does not yet meet adequate public facility standards, such as the availability of interaction space, playgrounds, toilets, and parking areas. Through a sustainable landscape design approach, the park is directed to become an inclusive, efficient, and environmentally friendly green open space. The proposed design integrates the use of local vegetation, natural water management systems, and the enhancement of the park’s social functions. It is expected that this design can serve as a model for urban park development in tropical regions facing urbanization pressures and contribute to improving the quality of life in a sustainable manner.
