Digitalization has become a crucial factor in enhancing the competitiveness and growth of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in developing countries, particularly within the ASEAN region. This study aims to explore the impact of digitalization on MSME growth in Indonesia, the Philippines, and Vietnam through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. These three countries were selected due to their substantial economic potential and evolving levels of technology adoption, yet each faces unique challenges in digital transformation. The study analyzes literature on the role of digitalization in improving market access, operational efficiency, and MSME financing, identifying key drivers and barriers specific to each country. Findings reveal that digitalization significantly contributes to enhancing productivity and sustainability for MSMEs, though challenges related to infrastructure, digital literacy, and regulatory frameworks present notable obstacles. This review aims to provide insights for policymakers and MSME stakeholders in optimizing digitalization strategies to foster economic growth in ASEAN.

In the era of free markets, Micro, Small, and Medium-Sized Enterprises (MSMEs) must fulfill specific conditions in order to compete. In order to help business actors—particularly craftspeople and MSME actors—better expand their enterprises, community service activities are necessary because many of them still lack business legitimacy. The purpose of this activity is to introduce the company Identification Number (NIB), which may be obtained online, and to raise awareness of the need of maintaining company licenses. The Indonesian government wants to make business actor registration easier by using the Online Single Submission (OSS) to submit NIBs. The provision of business legality theory and practice is part of this support. The purpose of this study is to arm business actors with information and expertise about creating NIB so they may grow their enterprises. The findings demonstrated that the community's comprehension of creating NIB, which each and every business actor must own, had improved. Because the NIB has granted legal status to the firm, it has made doing business simpler. MSME participants in Seberang Sanglar Village also benefit from protection from the government, easy access to financing, government empowerment, and support for their business growth.

MSMEs play a crucial role in the economy. However, the performance of MSMEs is often not optimal due to various challenges, such as limited access to financing, lack of financial literacy, and high dependence on government policies. This study aims to analyze the effect of financial literacy and government policies on the performance of MSMEs in Depok City. A quantitative research design was applied in this study. Primary data were obtained from the results of a questionnaire distributed to 100 selected MSME actors using the accidental sampling method. Data collection was carried out in August - September 2024. Data analysis used the Smart Partial Last Square (PLS) 4 program which includes measuring the outer model and inner model. In testing the outer model, convergent validity, discriminant validity, and composite reliability tests were carried out. In testing the inner model, an evaluation was carried out on multicollinearity, R-squared, goodness of fit, F Square, and path coefficients. The results of the study showed that both financial literacy and government policies had a positive effect on MSME performance, but were not statistically significant. The results of this study imply that financial literacy and government policies need to be improved in terms of implementation and relevance to provide a more tangible impact on MSME performance. Financial literacy programs and policies need to be more tailored to the specific needs of MSMEs and supported by ongoing support to have a significant impact.

This research explores the vital role of business legality in supporting the growth and sustainability of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia. Through a combination of interview and direct observation approaches, we investigate the challenges faced by MSMEs in obtaining appropriate business legality and its impact on market access and financing. The findings indicate that a lack of understanding of the importance of business legality, complex licensing processes, and the need for specific requirements are major obstacles for MSMEs, especially those operating at the micro and small levels. Furthermore, we conclude that complete and legally valid business legality forms a solid foundation for the growth of MSMEs, enabling broader access to formal markets and financial resources. The approach of mentoring in obtaining the Business Identification Number (NIB) emerges as an effective solution in assisting MSMEs in overcoming challenges related to business legality. Comprehensive mentoring programs, ranging from education about the registration process to practical assistance in gathering required documents, provide much-needed support for MSMEs like Bu Siti in navigating complex registration processes. Evaluation and feedback, as well as effective information dissemination, also prove crucial in increasing MSMEs' awareness and understanding of licensing procedures and the benefits of having complete business legality. Thus, collaborative efforts from various parties can help create a more conducive environment for the growth of MSMEs in Indonesia.

In its development, the MSME sector is often faced with various problems caused by external factors. External constraints relate to access to sources of financing and a business climate that is less conducive to the development of small businesses, because so far it seems that various policies are more in favor of the large business sector, so that the various facilities provided by the government are mostly enjoyed by the large business sector. This research method used is a descriptive method with a quantitative approach. The sampling technique in this research used probability sampling with a simple random sampling method, the total sample was 97 MSME actors. Partially (T test) shows that the External Environment has a positive and significant influence on MSME Performance, Strategic Planning does not significantly influence MSME Performance, simultaneously (F test) it appears that the External Environment and Strategic Planning have a positive and significant influence on MSME Performance, and in an Islamic business perspective, External Environment and Strategic Planning consider ethical values and sharia principles

This study aims to review the impact of tax avoidance on the debt maturity structure of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) based on existing literature. Tax avoidance provides MSMEs with the ability to improve short-term cash flow by reducing tax liabilities, which in turn allows for flexibility in managing debt, including extending debt maturity. With increased cash flow, MSMEs tend to rely more on debt as a financing source; however, they also face the risk of higher financing costs due to increased risk perceptions from lenders. The impact of tax avoidance on company reputation can also affect relationships with creditors, potentially leading to higher borrowing costs or difficulties in obtaining debt in the future. Although tax avoidance offers short-term benefits, MSMEs need to consider the potential long-term negative impacts, such as financial risks and reputational damage, when making debt management decisions. This study provides important insights for MSMEs in managing tax avoidance wisely, balancing financial benefits with the potential reputational impact.

PERMENKO No. 1 year 2023 on Kredit Usaha Rakyat (KUR) is the foundation for the implementation of the program that supports the growth of the Micro, small, and Medium Enterprises(UMKM) sector. With the dominance of UMKM in the economic structure, the KUR program was initiated based on presidential instruction No. 6 of 2007, followed by an MoU between the government, guarantee institutions, and banks. KUR, run by certain banks, such as BRI, BNI, and Mandiri, gets unbankable UMKM. PERMENKO No. 1 year 2023 stipulates a maximum interest rate of 6%, a loan period of up to 7 years, and allows multiple loans subject to collectibility requirements. With a focus on UMKM that have difficulty accessing capital, the KUR program has succeeded in achieving effectiveness with the realization of reaching IDR 175,73 trillion as of September 2023. Although obstacles remain, such as the assumption of urbanicity and the unpreparedness of Micro business, KUR provides easier access to financing at low-interest rates, accelerating the economic growth of UMKM.
