This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic education in character development within the family, focusing on strategies for fostering faith, worship, and ethics in the face of the challenges of globalization and digitalization. The family, as the primary educational institution, plays a crucial role in shaping the character of children, encompassing spiritual, moral, and social development. In the modern era, external influences through social media and globalization present significant challenges to family education, particularly in maintaining faith, practicing worship, and developing noble ethics. This research employs a qualitative approach, using literature review and in-depth interviews with parents and Islamic educators. The findings indicate that the strategy for fostering faith is carried out through the teaching of religious values, such as discipline in worship, and strengthening the relationship with Allah SWT. Worship development is emphasized through the practice of congregational prayer and voluntary worship, while the formation of ethics is achieved through role modeling, positive communication, and the habitual practice of good behavior in daily life. However, families face considerable challenges in implementing these educational strategies, including the influence of foreign cultures, the misuse of technology, and the busyness of parents. Nonetheless, with the wise use of technology and consistent family-based education, the goals of character education based on faith, worship, and ethics can be achieved. This study provides recommendations for parents and educators to continue strengthening the role of the family in educating children by emphasizing the importance of Islamic values in everyday life and utilizing technology to support positive educational processes

Extension on Fish Cultivation in Buckets (Budikdamber) to groups of housewives aims to increase understanding, skills and independence in managing local resources to support family food security. This activity was carried out in Huangobotu Village, Dungingi District, Gorontalo City, using lecture, discussion and live demonstration methods. The material presented includes efficient fish cultivation techniques using buckets as a medium, as well as integration with plants as an integrated agricultural system. The results of the activity showed that participants had high enthusiasm in adopting this simple technology. In addition, they can manage fish and plant cultivation independently in the household environment, which can increase the fulfillment of family food needs. However, several challenges arise regarding water management and selecting appropriate fish feed. This program shows great potential in increasing food security, especially for housewives in urban areas with limited land. The long-term success of this program requires ongoing support in technical aspects and solving problems that arise during the implementation of Budikdamber. Through this program, it is hoped that a community will be created that is more independent in meeting the nutritional needs of the family, as well as playing a role in realizing family-based food security.

The fifth commandment in the Ten Commandments, "Honor your father and your mother," found in Exodus 20:12, remains relevant in modern life despite the various social, cultural, and technological changes society has undergone. This research employs a qualitative literature approach to explore the meaning and significance of honoring parents in contemporary contexts. An analysis of theological, sociological, and Christian ethical literature demonstrates that honoring parents is not only a religious obligation but also contributes positively to the well-being of families and communities. This value helps maintain intergenerational relationships, strengthens family bonds, and supports social stability. In the modern era, challenges such as individualism, globalization, and technological advancement often affect the interactions between children and parents. This article discusses the challenges and solutions related to mixed marriages according to the Catholic Church in the context of pluralism in Indonesia, a multicultural society with diverse religions. In the modern world, mixed marriages are increasingly common but remain controversial, often posing a dilemma between maintaining religious values and accepting modernity. The Catholic Church views marriage as a holy sacrament that requires a unity of faith between the couple. However, in practice, many Catholics marry non-Catholics, which can lead to struggles in building the foundation of faith in the family, especially the direction of children's faith education. This article also explains the importance of a pastoral approach to support couples in mixed marriages in facing this challenge. The research uses the literature study method in the hope of providing insights and solutions that are relevant for mixed marriage couples in the current era.

Marriage in the Catholic Church is seen as a sacrament that binds partners in holy and inseparable love, with the primary goals being the well-being of the couple, the birth of children, and their education. This research aims to examine the important role of child birth and education in the context of Catholic marriage through a literature review approach. Data is taken from official Church documents such as Family Partnership, The Most Important Education, and the Code of Canon Law, as well as other academic literature. The analysis shows that the birth of a child is a real manifestation of love which demands the moral responsibility of the couple to educate the child in the Catholic faith, while the child's education is a means of passing on moral and spiritual values to the next generation. Modern challenges, such as the influence of technology and family dynamics, require an active spiritual life in the family to support children's faith education. This research has implications for strengthening Catholic family values in facing the complexity of the modern world, as well as providing a theological foundation for Catholic couples to carry out their role as primary and first educators in the family.
