Preoperative anxiety in patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy is an important issue because it can affect the psychological and physiological condition, as well as the postoperative recovery process. This study aims to describe the level of anxiety in preoperative laparoscopic cholecystectomy patients at Sultan Agung Islamic Hospital (RSI) Semarang. This research used a quantitative descriptive design with a population of all preoperative laparoscopic cholecystectomy patients and a total sample of 91 respondents, selected using purposive sampling technique. Data collection was performed using a questionnaire, which was then analyzed univariately to obtain the frequency distribution of anxiety levels. The results showed that most respondents were in the elderly group (41.8%), male (79.1%), employed (75.8%), and had no medical history (72.5%). The majority of respondents experienced moderate anxiety (73.6%), followed by mild anxiety (23.1%) and severe anxiety (3.3%). These findings indicate that most patients experience moderate anxiety before the surgical procedure. These results can serve as a basis for healthcare providers to deliver psychological interventions to reduce preoperative anxiety, such as providing adequate information, emotional support, and relaxation techniques to improve patient comfort and readiness for the medical procedure.

UMKM Tahu XYZ, a small-scale tofu producer, is currently facing significant challenges in maintaining consistent product quality, primarily due to a high defect rate. Common issues identified include crumbled tofu shapes, overly soft textures, and inconsistent taste, which negatively impact customer satisfaction and business sustainability. This study aims to investigate the root causes of these quality issues and propose practical solutions using the Lean Six Sigma methodology. The research employs a descriptive quantitative approach through the DMAIC framework—Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control—to ensure systematic problem-solving. Data were collected over a six-month period through direct observation, structured interviews, and review of production records. The analysis identified four dominant types of waste within the production process: unnecessary transportation, product defects, excessive movement, and over-processing. The root causes of these inefficiencies are linked to poor handling of raw materials, variability in soybean quality, and an ineffective production layout that hampers workflow and consistency. To address these problems, the study proposes several targeted interventions, including the redesign of the production layout to optimize flow, the implementation of the 5S (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) workplace organization method, the development of standardized operating procedures (SOPs), and the adoption of improved soybean boiling technology. The implementation of these improvements is projected to significantly reduce product defects, enhance process efficiency, and ultimately increase customer satisfaction. Furthermore, these actions are expected to improve the overall competitiveness of UMKM Tahu XYZ within the highly demanding food industry sector. This research provides actionable insights for other micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) seeking to apply structured quality control methods to strengthen operational performance and long-term business resilience.

The development of digital technology has had a significant impact on the health sector, including eye examination services. This study discusses the development and implementation of a Digital Optoscope-based Eye Diagnostic application designed using a web platform (HTML). This application provides two main features: visual acuity testing and astigmatism testing, which can be accessed independently by users through digital devices such as laptops, tablets, or mobile phones. Users only need to follow the visual instructions presented interactively on the screen, then perform the test according to the procedure. The testing method is carried out by displaying font size settings according to the Snellen chart standard and radial astigmatism patterns. The results of each test session are automatically recorded and can be saved for further analysis. In addition, users can perform repeated tests to improve the accuracy of self-diagnosis, and the system will provide lens type recommendations based on the measurement results obtained. The trial results show that this application is able to provide convenience, efficiency, and initial accuracy in the process of examining vision disorders. This is very useful, especially for people in remote areas or with limited access to professional eye health services. Thus, the Digital Optoscope-based Eye Diagnostic application has the potential to be an innovative solution for the early digital detection of vision disorders. This study recommends further development, particularly in clinical validation, testing on a wider sample size, and integration with electronic medical record systems to enhance its benefits in comprehensive public health services. Corruption is an extraordinary crime that not only causes massive state financial losses but also impedes national development. Efforts to eradicate corruption are insufficient if limited to the imprisonment of perpetrators; they must be accompanied by state asset recovery. The prosecutor, as the dominus litis in the criminal justice sistem, plays a central role in the process of seizing assets derived from corruption. This research aims to analyze the authority of prosecutors to seize assets in corruption cases, identify the obstacles encountered, and formulate solutions to optimize the exercise of this authority. The research method employed is normative juridical, utilizing a statutory approach and a case approach. The findings indicate that prosecutors have a strong legal basis for asset seizure, as stipulated in the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP), the Anti-Corruption Law, and other relevant regulations. However, in practice, prosecutors face various obstacles, both juridical, such as legal loopholes in the evidentiary process, and non-juridical, such as the complex modus operandi of perpetrators in concealing assets, slow inter-agency coordination, and challenges in tracing assets located abroad. Therefore, it is imperative to strengthen the regulatory framework through the enactment of the Asset Forfeiture Bill, enhance the capacity and integrity of prosecutors, and bolster international cooperation to maximize the recovery of state losses.

Background: Half of the 75 million children in Indonesia suffer from dental caries, and the number continues to rise each year. Caries is a disease that involves the enamel, dentin, and pulp of the tooth. If left untreated, it can reach the pulp and cause tooth necrosis. Pulpectomy is a dental procedure that involves removing the entire pulp tissue of deciduous teeth to access the infected root canal. This procedure is crucial to prevent the spread of infection. Post-pulpectomy restoration is essential to ensure the optimal function of the tooth and prevent further damage to the remaining tooth structure. The restoration must have adequate retention, minimal leakage, and not increase the risk of further damage to the remaining tooth structure. Methodology: This study is a qualitative research in the form of a literature review using secondary data collected in August 2024 from five main databases: PubMed, MDPI, ScienceDirect, Garuda (Garba Rujukan Digital), and Taylor & Francis. The collected data were then sorted to identify articles relevant to the research criteria. Results and Discussion: Based on the Prisma Diagram Flow, 343 articles were identified from the five databases, which were then filtered down to five articles that met the criteria to be the primary articles in this literature review. The results show that there are various types of post-pulpectomy restorations tailored to the diagnosis and clinical indications of the treated teeth. Conclusion: There are two commonly used types of post-pulpectomy restorations, namely restorations made of Glass Ionomer Cement (GIC) and Stainless Steel Crowns (SSC). This study explores the metaphor of life in Colleen Hoover’s novel Reminders of Him, aiming to identify the types of linguistic metaphors and analyze the conceptual metaphors that underlie them. Based on Lakoff and Johnson’s conceptual metaphor theory, which classifies metaphors into structural, ontological, and orientational categories, this study highlights the role of metaphor as a cognitive tool, not merely a stylistic device. A qualitative method was employed, with data collected using AntConc software by focusing on parts of the novel containing the word “life.” The Metaphor Identification Procedure was applied to identify linguistic metaphors, which were then categorized based on the word class of the lexical units that were used metaphorically. The results of this study show four types of linguistic metaphors involving the noun “life”: nominal, verbal, adjectival, and prepositional. These forms portray life as a physical object, a process, a possessed attribute, or a container. These linguistic metaphors reflect eight conceptual metaphors, including five ontological metaphors (life is ownership, life is a container, life is an entity, life is air, life is a place) and three structural metaphors (life is a machine, life is a journey, life is a challenge). The diversity of these conceptual metaphors illustrates the rich representation of life in the novel.
