Alcohol abuse is a serious issue that not only affects the individual experiencing addiction but also has profound consequences for families, particularly parents. Parents often face significant emotional, social, and psychological burdens when dealing with a child struggling with alcohol dependence. This study aims to gain an in-depth understanding of parental acceptance of children with alcohol addiction. The research employed a qualitative phenomenological approach with two parents as participants, each having a child with alcohol dependence. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, which allowed for a rich exploration of personal experiences, and analyzed using the Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) technique. The thematic analysis revealed six major themes: the dynamics of parent–child interactions, emotional responses of parents, changes in the child’s behavior due to addiction, the influence of parents’ past experiences, self-harming behavior as a coping mechanism, and the normalization of the child’s behavior. Findings indicate that parents’ past experiences, including trauma and parenting patterns, strongly influenced how they accepted their child’s condition. Furthermore, maladaptive coping strategies, such as self-harm, emerged as part of the acceptance process when parents faced situations beyond their control. This study underscores the importance of trauma-informed family interventions to help parents develop healthier coping mechanisms. It also highlights the need for comprehensive psychoeducational programs that involve all family members to foster resilience and mutual support. In doing so, the research contributes to the development of more effective psychological support systems for families affected by alcohol addiction.

The cosmetic and household goods industry in Indonesia continues to experience growth in line with increasing consumer demand and lifestyle changes. This sector plays an important role in supporting the national economy, but it is also vulnerable to fluctuations in market dynamics, global competition, and external challenges that may affect companies’ financial performance. The performance of these companies can be assessed through financial indicators, particularly profitability and solvency, which are often linked to firm value. This study aims to analyze the effect of profitability and solvency on firm value in the cosmetic and household goods subsector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the period 2019–2023. The research population consists of 11 companies, with 6 companies selected as the sample using purposive sampling techniques based on specific criteria. The data used are secondary data derived from financial statements obtained from the official IDX website (www.idx.co.id). The analytical method applied is quantitative with several statistical tests, including classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression, t-test, and F-test, assisted by SPSS version 22. The research findings indicate that profitability, proxied by Return on Assets (ROA), has a positive and significant partial effect on firm value (t-value 3.132 > t-table 2.04841). Solvency, proxied by the Debt to Equity Ratio (DER), also shows a positive and significant partial effect on firm value (t-value 5.810 > t-table 2.04841). Moreover, both profitability and solvency simultaneously have a positive and significant effect on firm value (F-value 86.997 > F-table 3.35). These results suggest that maintaining profitability and managing solvency effectively are key strategies for companies in enhancing firm value in a competitive market environment.

Marketing management has a strategic role in maintaining the sustainability of the company, especially in the midst of market dynamics and social issues that affect consumer behavior. One of the issues that had an impact was the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement against products that were associated with supporting Israel, including PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk. This study aims to analyze the influence of loyalty and brand image on Unilever product purchase decisions after the boycott in the South Jakarta area. The research method used was quantitative statistics with a survey approach of 100 respondents. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The results of the analysis showed that consumer loyalty had a significant effect on purchasing decisions (Thcal = 3.538 > Ttable = 1.984; sig = 0.001 < 0.05). Brand image also showed significant influence (Thcal = 4.032 > Ttable = 1.984; sig = 0.000 < 0.05). Simultaneously, both variables had a significant effect on purchasing decisions (Fcal = 63.849 > Ftable = 3.09; sig = 0.000). A determination coefficient value (R²) of 0.568 indicates that loyalty and brand image together influence 56.8% of consumer purchase decisions. These findings provide important implications for the company's marketing strategy in responding to social issues and maintaining consumer trust through strengthening loyalty and brand image.

Stock returns represent a crucial parameter that serves as a reference for investors in evaluating company performance. A decline in returns has occurred in several mining companies listed on the IDX, despite the sector’s vital role in the national economy. This study aims to examine the effect of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Return on Assets (ROA), Return on Equity (ROE), Debt to Equity Ratio (DER), and Firm Size on the stock returns of mining companies listed on the IDX during the 2022–2024 period. The sample was determined using purposive sampling, resulting in 56 observational data after outliers were removed. To meet the assumptions of classical tests, several variables were transformed using natural logarithms, and data were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results indicate that CSR, ROE, and Firm Size have no significant effect on stock returns, whereas ROA and DER show a significant positive effect. These findings suggest that investors tend to emphasize financial fundamentals, particularly profitability and capital structure, rather than non-financial aspects such as CSR activities. The implication for companies is the need to enhance operational efficiency and optimize financial structures to attract investors and improve returns. Future researchers are encouraged to incorporate external variables such as global commodity prices, market risk, and macroeconomic indicators, as well as expand the observation period and apply more diverse methodological approaches to provide a more comprehensive understanding of stock return dynamics in the mining sector.

This qualitative research investigates the influence of work motivation and work environment on employee performance within PT Yusen Logistic Indonesia's warehouse division. Through comprehensive interviews with maritime professionals, educators, and industry experts, this study addresses critical gaps in understanding workforce dynamics in maritime logistics operations. The research employed thematic analysis of semi-structured interviews with 45 participants across three stakeholder groups: operational staff, maritime educators, and industry professionals. Findings reveal that intrinsic motivation factors, particularly career development opportunities and safety recognition, demonstrate stronger correlation with sustained performance than monetary incentives. Work environment quality, including infrastructure adequacy and shift management, serves as a significant moderator affecting motivation–performance relationships. In addition, this research highlights that supportive leadership and open communication further strengthen employee engagement and commitment in high-pressure warehouse operations. Respondents consistently emphasized the importance of aligning organizational goals with individual career aspirations, particularly in a sector where safety and efficiency are paramount. The study also identifies that investment in ergonomic facilities, digital monitoring systems, and structured training programs reduces fatigue and error rates, thus promoting both productivity and safety compliance. The implications extend beyond company-level management to broader maritime education and policy-making. The integration of motivational strategies into vocational curricula can better prepare graduates for the realities of port and logistics operations. Moreover, the findings contribute to developing sustainable logistics practices that balance efficiency, employee well-being, and long-term organizational competitiveness. Overall, the research provides evidence-based recommendations for maritime vocational training programs, human resource management, and port operations strategies in Indonesia’s rapidly growing logistics sector.

This study examines the dynamics of urban politics in the policy of the Palembang City Government regarding the management of disorganized electrical cables. The problem of irregularly hanging cables, mixed with telecommunication lines, and often dangling too low poses safety risks, reduces the city’s aesthetics, and reflects weak governance of urban infrastructure. This research employs a qualitative approach using a case study method. Data were collected through field observations, in-depth interviews with relevant stakeholders, and documentation. The research informants consisted of representatives from the Palembang City Government, PLN (the state electricity company), telecommunication providers, and affected communities. The findings indicate that cable management policy is a concrete effort by the government to create an orderly, safe, and modern urban spatial arrangement. The Palembang City Government seeks to reorganize the overhead cable networks while simultaneously planning the development of underground utility ducts as a long-term solution. However, the implementation of this policy faces several challenges, particularly conflicting interests among stakeholders: PLN emphasizes operational efficiency, telecommunication providers resist additional financial burdens, while the public demands quick action but shows limited participation. This study concludes that the issue of cable management is not merely technical but also represents an arena of urban political contestation among the state, the private sector, and society. Effective solutions require cross-sectoral coordination, strong regulatory frameworks, collaborative financing, and active community involvement. Through a comprehensive approach, cable management in Palembang City has the potential to enhance public safety, improve urban aesthetics, and strengthen government legitimacy in sustainable urban governance.

The presence of colloquial expressions in public signage commonly referred to ba- hasa gaul has increasingly become a linguistic hallmark in various tourism and recreational ar- eas in Indonesia. This study investigates the use of informal language on public signage at Pantai Kelan, Bali, and analyzes such linguistic choices that reflect social dynamics, youth identity, and evolving modes of communication in public space. Grounded in sociolinguistic perspectives, the research highlights the role of signage as not only a medium of information, but also a space for constructing shared meaning and fostering engagement through culturally resonant expressions. This qualitative research employed observational and documentation methods. It focused on twelve public signs installed at Pantai Kelan. Data were collected through field observations, photographic documentation, and subsequent transcription and analysis of the linguistic forms. The analysis fo- cused on identifying dominant lexical patterns, stylistic choices, and communicative functions of the language used. The signs were then interpreted with reference to their potential cultural, social, and interactional implications within the broader framework of linguistic landscape studies. The findings indicate that the use of bahasa gaul in signage serves multiple purposes: capturing atten- tion, expressing local identity, evoking humor, and connecting with a predominantly young and digital-native audience. Rather than being perceived as informal or inappropriate, such language use contributes to the effectiveness of public communication in specific contexts. The study con- tributes to the growing body of literature on language in public space and emphasizes the impor- tance of cultural relevance and sociolinguistic awareness in designing public signage that is both meaningful and impactful

This study aims to examine how family conflict resolution is represented in the 2024 Korean drama Queen of Tears. The research employed a qualitative approach using content analysis, focusing on 16 episodes that highlight family conflict dynamics and resolution strategies. The analysis concentrated on the evolution of communication patterns among characters throughout the storyline. The findings reveal that the drama portrays a transformation from destructive to constructive communication. In the early stages, conflicts are characterized by closed communication, passive-aggressive behavior, triangulation, and false assumptions. However, as the story progresses, these patterns shift toward open, empathetic, assertive, and collaborative communication, allowing for healthier and more adaptive resolutions. Furthermore, the study identifies the influence of Korean cultural values such as jeong (emotional bonds), nunchi (social sensitivity), face-saving, and collectivism in shaping how characters handle conflicts and reach reconciliation. This representation not only reflects the complexity of conflict within the Korean cultural context but also provides audiences with practical models for conflict resolution. Consequently, the drama serves not only as a form of entertainment but also as an educational medium that promotes effective family communication. The findings of this research contribute significantly to studies on family communication, media representation, and popular culture, offering insights into how television narratives can shape perceptions of interpersonal relationships and conflict management strategies.

This study examines the phenomenon of Muslim consumer consumptive behavior in the digital era, focusing on online shopping activities through e-commerce platforms. The main goal is to examine the conformity of consumption behavior with the principles of consumption ethics in Islam. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data was collected through in-depth interviews with selected Muslim consumers as well as observations of purchasing patterns over three months. The results show that the ease of access to technology, the intensity of promotion, and the influence of social media are the dominant factors that encourage impulse buying behavior. This phenomenon creates a gap between actual consumption practices and Islamic ethical values, especially related to the principles of moderation (wasathiyah), avoidance of waste (israf), and social responsibility in shopping. While some respondents showed awareness of these values, the pressures of the digital environment and consumptive lifestyles often obscure ethical considerations in purchasing decision-making. The implications of these findings emphasize the urgency of strengthening Islamic consumption literacy through digital education, awareness campaigns, and the integration of religious values in ethical marketing strategies. This research is expected to be the basis for the development of sustainable consumption policies based on spiritual values, as well as encourage Muslim consumers to be more critical and wise in facing the evolving dynamics of digital commerce.

The main issue in this study is the practice of ministers concurrently holding positions as party chairpersons, despite conflicting with the provisions of Article 23 of Law No. 39 of 2008 concerning State Ministries, which prohibits ministers from concurrently serving as leaders of organizations funded by the state budget (APBN/APBD), including political parties that receive APBN/APBD funds. The focus of this research is on the reasons why the president appoints ministers from political party leadership and the implications of such dual positions. The method used is normative legal research with statutory and conceptual approaches, and data collection through literature review of regulations, literature, and other official documents. The study reveals that the main factors behind appointing ministers from party leadership are the dynamics of the multiparty system requiring the president to rely on coalition support, regulatory ambiguity regarding the prohibition of dual office holding, and political pragmatism that undermines the party’s role as representatives of the people. The implications of this practice include violations of Law No. 39 of 2008, weakening of checks and balances mechanisms, potential for transactional politics, strengthening of oligarchy and political dynasties, and violation of good governance principles. To address these issues, a revision of Article 23 of Law No. 39 of 2008 is necessary to make the prohibition of dual offices clearer, strengthen law enforcement mechanisms, ensure transparency in ministerial appointments, and secure the president’s commitment to meritocratic principles.

This study aims to analyze the influence of liquidity, leverage, profitability, and company size on the share prices of companies that are members of the Investor33 index on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the 2019–2023 period. This study uses a quantitative approach with purposive sampling techniques, so that 17 companies out of a total of 46 companies that meet the criteria are obtained. The data used is secondary data in the form of annual financial statements obtained from the IDX's official website. The analysis method used was multiple linear regression with the help of the Statistical Program for Social Science (SPSS) software version 25. The results of the analysis show that the leverage and profitability variables have a significant effect on the stock price, which indicates that the company's capital structure and ability to generate profits are important factors in the investor's assessment. In contrast, the liquidity variables and company size do not show a significant influence on the stock price, which means that the company's ability to meet short-term obligations and operational scale are not the main determinants in the formation of the stock price on the index. These findings provide implications for investors and company management to pay more attention to profitability and leverage aspects in financial strategies and investment decision-making. This research can also be a reference for further studies related to the analysis of financial ratios and capital market dynamics in Indonesia.

The rapid development of the pharmaceutical industry in Indonesia presents both an opportunity and a challenge in increasing company value amidst the dynamics of an increasingly digital and competitive capital market. This phenomenon demonstrates that strong operational performance does not always translate into high market value, making it crucial to identify internal factors that influence company value, particularly in the pharmaceutical subsector, which plays a strategic role in Indonesia. This research aims to analyze the effect of Working Capital Turnover, Cash Turnover, Liquidity, and Profit Growth on Company Value in pharmaceutical companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2021-2024 period. The research method used was quantitative with an explanatory approach. The sampling technique used total sampling, with a sample size of 10 companies. Secondary data, in the form of financial statements, were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis. The results indicate that only Cash Turnover significantly impacts company value, with a negative effect, while Working Capital Turnover, Liquidity, and Profit Growth do not. These findings suggest that efficient working capital management and consistent profit growth play a crucial role in increasing the value of pharmaceutical companies. This research is expected to be a reference for management in strategic decision making and for academics for further research.

This study aims to determine the effect of peer pressure on smoking behavior among adolescents at SMP Negeri 16 Kupang. The background of this study is based on the phenomenon of increasing smoking behavior among adolescents, which is greatly influenced by the dynamics of social relationships, especially peer groups. Adolescents are at a developmental stage where social acceptance and the need to be part of a group are very important, so they are vulnerable to the influence of the social environment, including peer pressure to try smoking behavior. This study uses a quantitative approach with the product moment correlation analysis method. The study sample consisted of 223 adolescent respondents aged 11–17 years who were selected proportionally from various classes at SMP Negeri 16 Kupang. The research instrument was a questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. The results showed a significant relationship between peer pressure and smoking behavior, with a significance value of p = 0.000 (p < 0.05), which means the hypothesis is accepted. The correlation value (R) of 0.317 indicates a positive relationship between the two variables, although in the moderate category. The coefficient of determination (R Square) of 0.100 indicates that peer pressure influences smoking behavior by 10%, while the remaining 90% is influenced by other factors such as family environment, media influence, self-esteem, and adolescent psychological conditions. The correlation between peer pressure and smoking behavior was mostly moderate. Interestingly, the results also showed that female adolescents in this study were more likely to exhibit high smoking behavior than male adolescents, indicating a shift in social behavior patterns in female adolescents. These findings have important implications for educators, parents, and policymakers in designing more effective smoking prevention programs that take into account social pressure factors and gender differences.

Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) is a chronic condition that requires optimal adherence to pharmacological treatment to prevent disease progression and complications. This study aims to analyze the level of adherence to anti-diabetic medication among T2DM patients and to explore the association between the experience of medication side effects and adherence levels. A descriptive-analytic cross-sectional design was employed, involving 97 T2DM patients in Bandung Regency and Bandung City, Indonesia. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics and the Chi-Square test. The results revealed that 53.6% of respondents exhibited low medication adherence. The majority reported having diabetes-related complications (88.7%) and experiencing medication side effects (57.7%). A significant positive association was found between medication side effects and adherence level (p = 0.039), indicating that patients who experienced side effects tended to be more adherent. Demographic factors such as place of residence, gender, and age showed no significant association with adherence. The findings suggest that side effects may hinder adherence; however, awareness of the body’s response to medication, including side effects, may also serve as a motivator for adherence.

This study analyzes the symbolic meaning of the 2025 Easter Parade in Kupang City using a symbolic interactionist approach, with a central focus on the cross as a primary symbol. The cross is not only understood as a sacred religious emblem but also as a medium of social communication whose meaning is dynamically constructed through interactions between parade participants, spectators, and particularly the actors portraying the figure of Jesus. These social interactions allow for the reinterpretation of the symbol’s meaning based on cultural contexts and participants' experiences. The findings reveal that deviant behavior exhibited by some actors portraying Jesus created a dissonance between the ideal meaning of Christ’s suffering and the actual performance displayed during the parade. This mismatch caused cognitive dissonance among viewers and had the potential to distort the intended spiritual message of the symbol. The incident underscores the importance of actors' awareness of the sacred nature of the symbol and the necessity for responsible and contextually appropriate representations in public rituals. The study also emphasizes that religious symbols are fluid and do not possess fixed or absolute meanings. Instead, they are subject to redefinition based on individual and collective experiences, cultural backgrounds, and public perceptions. Within the context of the Easter Parade, the cross becomes a performative medium that reflects the values, beliefs, and social dynamics of the diverse society in Kupang. This research employs a mixed-methods approach by integrating both quantitative and qualitative data to provide a more comprehensive understanding. Quantitative data offers general insights into audience perceptions of the symbolic performance, while qualitative data explores deeper layers of symbolic meaning and the sociocultural implications that arise. Overall, this study contributes to the discourse on religion, symbolism, and public ritual by highlighting the importance of intentionality, appropriate representation, and cultural sensitivity in maintaining the sacredness of religious symbols in dynamic and pluralistic public spaces
