Matra Health is a form of health service specifically designed to maintain and improve public health in dynamic, complex, and constantly changing environmental conditions. This service plays a very vital role, especially in facing and handling various types of disasters, both natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods, and landslides, as well as non-natural disasters such as residential fires. One form of non-natural disaster that often occurs in densely populated areas is residential fires. This is caused by various factors such as unsafe electrical installations, a lack of public awareness of the dangers of fire, and buildings that are not resistant to heat or fire. Residential fires not only cause physical damage to buildings and infrastructure, but also cause various health problems, ranging from burns, respiratory problems due to smoke exposure, to psychological trauma, especially in vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly, and pregnant women. In response to these conditions, a dimensional health intervention activity was carried out from June 23 to 26, 2025 in areas affected by the fires under the coordination of the South Sumatra Regional Crisis Center. This activity aims to reduce health risk factors that arise after the fires through a series of actions such as multi-sector health surveillance, public health education, and distribution of logistical assistance. The activity also includes conducting rapid assessments using the Rapid Health Assessment (RHA) method, providing education on fire impact prevention, and distributing supplementary food to vulnerable groups. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in public understanding of the dangers of fire and the importance of preparedness for its impacts. Furthermore, the need to strengthen cross-sectoral coordination, such as health, disaster management, and social sectors, in disaster management was identified. It is hoped that this activity can serve as a model for strengthening community-based emergency response systems.

This community service activity aims to provide education and technical recommendations related to energy efficiency and thermal comfort in the BIN Apartment building through simulations using DesignBuilder software. The purpose of the activity is to analyze and optimize the building’s energy consumption and ensure thermal comfort for the residents. The simulation results show that the building's Energy Use Intensity (EUI) is relatively low for the residential category, based on calculations made by the BGH team. The air conditioning (AC) system in conditioned spaces meets the thermal comfort standards according to ASHRAE, ensuring comfortable living conditions in these areas. However, in unconditioned areas, such as the family room, the Predicted Mean Vote (PMV) value reaches 1.5 (hot), indicating thermal discomfort. To address this issue, mechanical ventilation is recommended, with the capacity to produce an average air velocity of at least 0.6 m/s, which will improve airflow and enhance thermal comfort. Alternatively, adding an additional AC unit can also be considered, though it would result in a 20% increase in energy consumption. The findings and recommendations of this activity are expected to provide valuable insights and assist partners in making informed technical decisions when designing efficient and comfortable HVAC systems for vertical state-owned residential buildings. Ultimately, this program aims to optimize both energy usage and comfort, contributing to sustainable building management practices in the future.

This qualitative case study investigated the factors and impacts of English language learning anxiety among students at SMP Muhammadiyah Tanjungpinang. The research focused on students from the 7th, 8th, and 9th grades during the academic year 2024/2025. A total of 32 students across all grade levels were involved in the study. The researchers initially conducted classroom observations to identify students who exhibited signs of anxiety during English lessons. Based on these observations, eleven students were selected as participants for semi-structured interviews and more detailed classroom observations. The research aimed to explore how anxiety manifests in the classroom and how it affects students' language acquisition in a unique socio-educational environment. The data collected through interviews and observations were analyzed qualitatively by interpreting students’ responses and behavioral patterns in class. The findings revealed that three primary types of language anxiety—Communication Apprehension, Test Anxiety, and Fear of Negative Evaluation—were commonly experienced by the students. These forms of anxiety were often interconnected, compounding the emotional barriers students faced in English learning. One of the key contributing factors was the students’ fear of peer ridicule, especially within a tightly bonded student community. Many of the participants were affiliated with orphanages connected to the school, which created a unique emotional and social environment. This setting, while supportive in many ways, also contributed to heightened sensitivity to peer judgment and a strong fear of making mistakes. As a result, the affective filter among these students was notably high, significantly hindering their willingness to participate and ultimately affecting their English language acquisition.

Changes in building functions in urban areas have become an inevitable phenomenon, especially in developing cities such as Binjai City. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing building function changes in the area, using a Mixed Methods approach that combines quantitative analysis through multiple linear regression and qualitative documentation based on field observations. Four independent variables were examined: inconsistency with the Spatial Plan (RTRW), accessibility, economic motivation, and law enforcement. The results show that economic motivation and accessibility have a significant influence on building function changes. Meanwhile, the variables of RTRW inconsistency and weak law enforcement did not show statistically significant effects. These findings are supported by visual field evidence indicating a massive conversion of building functions without effective spatial planning control. Photographic documentation reveals a tendency among the community to adapt building functions for economic activities in strategically accessible areas. The study concludes that building function changes in Binjai City are driven by economic needs and urban spatial dynamics that are not matched by supervision and enforcement of spatial planning regulations. Recommendations include strengthening spatial supervision, providing socio-economic-based incentives, simplifying permit processes, and implementing community-based public education. This research offers valuable contributions to adaptive urban planning while upholding the principles of spatial order and community aspirations.

Indonesia, as an agricultural country, has a large population working in the agricultural sector. Agricultural activities often involve the use of chemicals that can cause skin disorders, one of which is contact dermatitis. Contact dermatitis is an occupational disease with a high prevalence, both globally and nationally. As a form of concern for the increasing number of dermatitis cases among farmers, a community service activity was conducted in Mlati Village, Grobogan Regency. This activity aimed to increase farmers' awareness and knowledge regarding contact dermatitis prevention. The intervention included educational sessions, interactive discussions, role-plays, pre- and post-tests, and the distribution of skin health information leaflets. The activity was carried out by the Health Promotion Team from the Faculty of Medicine, Semarang State University. The evaluation results showed an increase in participants' understanding of the symptoms of contact dermatitis by 11.86% of the 21 participants who attended. Materials considered important by participants included the importance of maintaining personal hygiene after contact with chemicals, as well as the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) during work. The participants' enthusiasm was also evident in their active participation in the discussion sessions and hands-on practice. This community service activity was motivated by the need for an efficient and structured library management system at MI Hidayatul Ulum. Previously, book recording, borrowing, and reporting were done manually, creating administrative challenges and limiting access to information for students and teachers. To address these challenges, the community service team implemented a web-based library information system designed to simplify collection management, facilitate book searches, and expedite the borrowing and return process. The implementation method included partner needs analysis, system design and installation, training for staff and teachers, and evaluation of implementation results. The system was designed to be accessible through the school's local network with a simple and user-friendly interface. Training was provided to ensure the school was able to utilize and manage the system independently. The results showed that the implementation of this information system improved library management efficiency and expanded user access to information. Teachers could more easily monitor book collections, while students found it easier to search for and borrow books. Furthermore, the system accelerated administrative processes and reduced the risk of recording errors. Another positive impact was the growth of a technology-based literacy culture within the madrasah. With the availability of faster book search and borrowing services, students' interest in reading increased. A participatory approach involving schools from the planning stage through evaluation ensures that the resulting solutions meet needs and can be implemented sustainably. This community service activity is expected to serve as a model for implementing simple technology that has a real impact on improving the quality of basic education services.

In the evolving dynamics of Indonesia's economy, unsecured loans or Kredit Tanpa Agunan (KTA) have rapidly grown as a popular financial solution. The ease of application and fund disbursement makes these products especially attractive to micro-entrepreneurs and lower-middle-income communities. However, behind the convenience lies a serious issue: a high rate of default or breach of contract (wanprestasi). This problem is exacerbated by the low level of legal literacy among the public, leading to a lack of understanding of their rights and obligations in financing agreements. Most individuals are also unaware that there is a faster, simpler, and low-cost legal mechanism available for resolving civil disputes—namely, the Small Claims Court procedure, as regulated by the Supreme Court Regulation (Perma) No. 4 of 2019. This mechanism can be utilized by the general public, especially clients of microfinance institutions and credit cooperatives, to resolve civil conflicts involving claims of up to IDR 500 million without going through complex litigation. To address this issue, this community engagement activity aimed to improve public legal understanding of the Small Claims Procedure through participatory-based training. The training involved 50 participants from microfinance institutions and savings and loan cooperatives. The methods used included legal counseling, mock court simulations, group discussions, and case studies to provide participants with practical knowledge of the procedures and benefits of filing small claims. The results of the activity indicated that 78% of participants reported a better understanding of the Small Claims mechanism after the training, and 65% stated they were more inclined to use it compared to conventional litigation routes. This training had a positive impact on raising legal awareness, potentially reducing default rates, and contributing to the development of a more inclusive, fair, and sustainable financial system.

Limited access to learning resources appropriate to the local context presents a challenge in the mathematics learning process in indigenous communities such as the Baduy Tribe. Conventional mathematics learning is often considered too abstract and less relevant to the daily lives of Baduy children, especially in the Outer Baduy region. To address this challenge, this community service activity aims to introduce contextual mathematics learning media based on the surrounding environment and local culture. The media developed is designed to be easily accessible, affordable, and environmentally friendly, while still respecting prevailing traditional values. The method used in this activity is Participatory Action Research (PAR), with a collaborative approach between a team of lecturers and the Outer Baduy community. The activity implementation process includes six stages, namely: identification of local problems and potential, planning, designing learning media, implementation, evaluation, and documentation of activity results. The results of the activity show an increase in interest and understanding of basic mathematics concepts among Outer Baduy children. Children appear more active, enthusiastic, and confident in participating in the learning process through educational games and concrete activities. The media used utilizes natural objects and local cultural elements, such as woodcuts, ancient angklungs, traditional hats, and distinctive Baduy woven motifs. The community responded positively because these media do not conflict with traditional values. This activity has had positive cognitive and social impacts and strengthened awareness of the importance of a contextual and culturally based educational approach as a relevant and inclusive learning strategy.

Anemia is a common health problem among adolescent girls, especially in developing countries like Indonesia. This condition is generally caused by insufficient iron intake, an unbalanced diet, and increased iron requirements during growth. Anemia not only impacts physical health but also affects concentration, productivity, and quality of life. Therefore, interventions based on nutrition education and the utilization of local food sources are crucial in sustainable anemia prevention efforts. One potential complementary therapy alternative is the consumption of herbal drinks based on moringa leaves (Moringa oleifera). Moringa leaves are known to be rich in iron, vitamin A, and antioxidants that play a role in red blood cell formation. This community service activity aims to increase the knowledge and skills of adolescent girls in utilizing moringa leaves as a natural source of iron. The target group is grade 10 and 11 female students at SMA Sejahtera Palembang, which was held in June 2025. The activity methods included a nutrition lecture on anemia and the importance of iron, an interactive discussion on the benefits of moringa leaves, and hands-on practice in making herbal moringa drinks (such as moringa leaf tea and moringa juice). The material was delivered using a communicative and participatory approach to actively engage participants. The results of the activity showed an increase in participants' understanding of the causes of anemia, the benefits of moringa leaves, and their willingness to consume herbal drinks as a preventative measure. Community-based education is an approach that positions society as an active participant in the educational process, integrating local culture, values, and social dynamics into learning. One such model that reflects these principles is the Wustho educational model, which originates from the Islamic pesantren system. This model offers a balanced integration between religious and general education, emphasizing the role of community and character development as essential elements of student success. This research aims to explore the influence of the Wustho model on students’ academic achievement at SMP PGRI 1 Ciambar, Ciambar Sub-district, Sukabumi Regency. The study involved 150 students across different grade levels, using a qualitative descriptive research approach. Data collection techniques included participatory observation, in-depth interviews with teachers, school leaders, and parents, as well as document analysis of academic performance records. The findings indicate that the implementation of the Wustho model has a positive impact on student achievement, both in academic and behavioral aspects. Students showed improvement in learning motivation, discipline, and active engagement in religious and community-based learning activities.¹ This model also strengthens moral values and spiritual awareness, which in turn enhances students’ holistic learning outcomes.² Moreover, collaboration between schools, families, and community figures plays a crucial role in reinforcing the effectiveness of this educational approach.³ The presence of religious instruction embedded within daily learning experiences helps students to better contextualize academic content in real-life situations.⁴In conclusion, the Wustho educational model offers a meaningful contribution to the development of community-based education practices, especially in rural or religiously active areas. Its focus on moral education, community involvement, and the integration of spiritual and secular knowledge demonstrates its relevance and effectiveness in improving student learning outcomes. It is recommended that similar models be adapted in other educational settings where community values are strongly upheld.
