This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Hatch and Carry Center (H&C) in increasing the population of Elaeidobius kamerunicus pollinating weevils, fruit set levels, and Fresh Fruit Bunch (FFB) productivity in oil palm plantations at Division 6 Estate SGT 02, PT Kayung Agro Lestari, West Kalimantan. The research was conducted over six months, from July to December 2024, using a quasi-experimental comparative design. The period without H&C (July–December 2023) served as the control, while the period with H&C (July–December 2024) was treated as the intervention, allowing for a clearer analysis of differences before and after program implementation. Primary data were collected through monthly field observations on the number of male and female flowers, weevil populations, fruit set levels, and parthenocarpic fruits, providing consistent information on plant reproductive dynamics. In addition, in-depth interviews and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) with stakeholders were conducted to identify supporting and inhibiting factors during implementation. Secondary data on FFB production were obtained from company harvest records in both periods to compare productivity trends. Quantitative data analysis employed the t-test to examine significant differences between the control and treatment periods, while qualitative data were thematically analyzed to explore the dynamics of program execution. The combination of both approaches is expected to provide a comprehensive understanding of the effectiveness of H&C as an innovation in oil palm pollination management.

Traditional markets play a central role in the local economic system and the social life of communities, particularly in Medan City. However, the dynamics of urbanization, competition from modern retail, and changes in consumer behavior have posed significant challenges to their sustainability. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the strategic location of traditional markets and their economic performance using a mixed-methods approach and spatial analysis. The research focuses on six traditional markets in Medan City: Petisah Market, Sukaramai Market, Beruang Market, Ikan Lama Market, Sei Sikambing Market, and Pringgan Market. Quantitative data were collected through questionnaires using a Likert scale and analyzed descriptively and correlationally, while qualitative data were gathered through field observations and in-depth interviews to interpret the socio-spatial context of each market. The key variables include accessibility, commodity diversity, and environmental comfort, which are linked to economic performance indicators such as visitor numbers, buyer loyalty, and sales stability. The results show that Petisah, Pringgan, and Ikan Lama Markets scored highest in these variables and demonstrated better economic performance. Correlation analysis identified commodity diversity as the most influential factor on economic performance, followed by environmental quality and accessibility. To strengthen the analysis, a SWOT model was also applied to identify the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats faced by traditional markets. This analysis reveals that the primary strengths of the markets lie in their location and social interaction, while the main challenges stem from a lack of modern management and pressure from digital markets. This study recommends development strategies based on local advantages, infrastructure modernization, market information digitalization, and cultural promotion as steps to sustainably enhance the competitiveness of traditional markets amid urban spatial changes.

Bali tourism is currently facing challenges such as environmental degradation and overtourism due to the massive influx of visitors. As a solution that has been implemented in various countries, the Tourist Levy began to be applied in Bali on February 14, 2024, through Regional Regulation No. 6 of 2023, known as the Foreign Tourist Levy, with the aim of protecting Bali’s nature and culture towards quality tourism. This research becomes urgent to examine the implications of the foreign tourist levy on Bali’s sustainable tourism. Although this regulation has noble intentions, its implementation has generated various responses from international tourists and tourism stakeholders in Bali. This condition has prompted the author to conduct an in-depth study. The objectives of this research are: (1) To analyze the implementation of the foreign tourist levy (International Tourist Levy) policy in Bali, (2) To analyze the challenges in implementing the foreign tourist levy (International Tourist Levy) policy on sustainable tourism in Bali, and (3) To analyze the implications of the foreign tourist levy (International Tourist Levy) policy for international tourists and tourism stakeholders in realizing sustainable tourism. The method used in this research is a descriptive approach. The types of data employed are qualitative and quantitative data. Data collection methods include observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation, analyzed using qualitative descriptive data analysis techniques. The results of this study indicate that the International Tourist Levy has great potential in strengthening sustainable tourism in Bali. The majority of tourists support the sustainability goals of this policy, although some express concerns about the transparency of fund utilization and the impact of additional costs on travel decisions. Meanwhile, tourism industry players demonstrate positive adaptation, with emphasis on the need for strengthening socialization, transparency, and collaboration among stakeholders. This research recommends enhancing public communication and conducting regular evaluations of the policy to be more responsive to the dynamics and needs of tourists. Thus, this policy is expected to serve as a model for foreign tourists’ contributions in supporting the preservation of Bali’s cultural and natural heritage in a sustainable manner.

This study aims to examine the correlation between loneliness and Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) among working mothers experiencing long-distance marriage (LDM) in West Sumatra, a population facing dual challenges of work responsibilities and limited spousal support. Loneliness, often triggered by the lack of emotional closeness and reduced social support, is hypothesized to significantly contribute to FoMO, particularly in the context of increased social media use. The research employed a quantitative correlational design with a sample of 385 working mothers selected through simple random sampling. Data collection utilized the FoMO scale developed by Kurniawan and Utami (2022) and a loneliness scale designed by the researcher based on Russell’s (1996) dimensions. Data analysis used the Pearson product moment correlation test after ensuring normality and linearity assumptions were met. The findings revealed a significant positive correlation between loneliness and FoMO (r = 0.649, p < 0.05). This indicates that higher levels of loneliness are associated with greater FoMO tendencies among working mothers living apart from their spouses. The study highlights how psychological vulnerabilities related to marital separation and dual roles increase susceptibility to FoMO. These results underscore the importance of providing psychosocial support, strengthening marital communication, and promoting digital literacy to reduce FoMO risks. This research contributes to understanding the psychosocial dynamics of working mothers in LDM contexts and can serve as a basis for preventive interventions to enhance mental well-being.

In this study, which began with an initial speaking score of 60.5, the main objective was to enhance students’ English-speaking skills through structured dialogue by applying Problem-Based Learning (PBL). The research was conducted using a Collaborative Classroom Action Research approach, which followed four key stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. These stages were carried out in distinct cycles, with each cycle consisting of two meetings. Data were collected through several instruments, including structured dialogue tasks to measure speaking performance, questionnaires to evaluate students’ perceptions of PBL practice, and field notes to capture classroom dynamics. The participants of this study were fourth-semester students of the D3 English Study Program at the State Polytechnic. The findings indicated a significant improvement in students’ English-speaking performance across the two cycles. In Cycle I, the total score achieved was 1,500, with an average of 75 and a success percentage of 70%. In Cycle II, the total score increased to 1,700, with an average of 85 and a success percentage of 90%. This shows a substantial enhancement not only in terms of numerical achievement but also in students’ active engagement and confidence during structured dialogue activities. Furthermore, the effectiveness of the PBL approach in facilitating learning also improved notably. In Cycle I, the average effectiveness score was 6.4, while in Cycle II, it rose to 9.4. These findings suggest that integrating structured dialogue with PBL provides an effective strategy to foster students’ speaking proficiency. It also highlights the potential of collaborative classroom action research in promoting reflective teaching practices and sustained learning improvement.

This study aimed to determine and analyze the influence of financial ratios on profit changes in telecommunications companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the 2019–2023 period. The financial ratios used in this study encompass four main groups: liquidity ratios, solvency ratios, activity ratios, and profitability ratios. This study employed a quantitative approach with an associative nature because it attempted to examine the relationship and influence between these financial variables on profit changes. The population in this study comprised all telecommunications companies listed on the IDX, while the sample selection was conducted using a purposive sampling technique with specific criteria, resulting in 15 eligible companies. The research data were then analyzed using panel data regression using EViews 12 software, with the best model selected being the Random Effect Model (REM). The results showed that simultaneously, liquidity, solvency, activity, and profitability ratios significantly influenced profit changes, thus concluding that the company's overall financial performance plays a significant role in determining the dynamics of profit generated. However, partial test results showed that the influence of each ratio was different. The solvency ratio has a significant negative effect on profit changes, indicating that the higher a company's debt level, the greater the risk of profit decline. Conversely, the profitability ratio has a significant positive effect, confirming that a company's ability to generate net profit is a major factor in increasing profit changes. Meanwhile, the liquidity ratio and activity ratio were not shown to have a significant effect on profit changes, indicating that short-term liquidity and operational efficiency are not sufficient to be the primary determinants in driving profit changes in the telecommunications sector.

Film and television play a central role in shaping and representing the cultural identity of society. Through artistic expertise manifested by directors, screenwriters, actors, cinematographers, and producers, cultural construction is presented not only as entertainment but also as a social discourse that reflects values, traditions, and the dynamics of collective identity. This study aims to analyze how artistic expertise contributes to constructing cultural identity representation through film and television mediums in Indonesia. The research methodology used is qualitative, employing content analysis and semiotics approaches on selected Indonesian films and TV series that highlight cultural aspects, such as Losmen Bu Broto and Gadis Kretek. These works were chosen because they feature rich local culture while reflecting the role of culture in the dynamics of Indonesian society. The findings indicate that artistic expertise plays a crucial role in constructing cultural representation, both through narrative, visual elements, music, and actors' performances. The representations produced not only affirm local and national identities but also reflect the process of cultural negotiation with global influences. This study underscores that film and television serve as strategic media for cultural diplomacy and the formation of collective identity awareness in Indonesian society. Through this process, these mediums contribute to the preservation of local culture amidst global cultural flows. The research highlights the importance of film and television as tools for maintaining and constructing cultural identity, where local traditions and values are both preserved and adapted to the changing global landscape.

This study aims to analyze the winning strategy of the candidate pair Ratu Wulla and Angga Kaka in the 2024 Regional Head Election (Pilkada) of Sumba Barat Daya Regency. The main focus of this research is how the Ratu-Angga pair gained public support, particularly after Ratu Wulla's controversial decision to resign from her seat in the House of Representatives (DPR RI) to run for Regent. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. The primary theoretical framework used is Adman Nursal’s 3P political marketing strategy, which includes Push Marketing, Pull Marketing, and Pass Marketing. The findings show that Push Marketing, through face-to-face campaigns and social activities, succeeded in building emotional ties with the community. Pull Marketing effectively utilized social media to reach younger voters. Meanwhile, Pass Marketing was carried out by involving traditional leaders, religious figures, women, and youth who hold strong influence in society. These three strategies were applied synergistically and proved effective in transforming negative public perception of Ratu Wulla resignation into significant political support. The victory of the Ratu-Angga pair, with 49.03% of the valid votes, indicates the success of an inclusive, adaptive, and locally responsive political communication strategy. This research contributes significantly to the understanding of voter behavior dynamics and campaign strategies in the context of local politics in Indonesia.

This study aims to understand the dynamics of children’s communication within families after parental infidelity in Subang Regency, with a focus on conflict, problem-solving strategies, and conformity. The research employed a qualitative approach using a case study method, with data collected through purposive sampling involving four key informants and five supporting informants. The findings indicate that post-affair conflicts often lead to children’s withdrawal from family interactions, while problem-solving efforts are not always successful in restoring trust and repairing family relationships due to unresolved emotional wounds. Children’s conformity tends to become increasingly closed and restrictive, with the family no longer functioning as a safe space to express feelings and share concerns. Parental infidelity significantly disrupts family communication, particularly in parent–child interactions, as children tend to feel insecure, lose trust, and adopt rigid or defensive communication patterns. This condition reflects a broader psychological impact in which children experience emotional distress, confusion, and difficulties in establishing meaningful relationships. Moreover, the study highlights that unresolved family communication breakdowns may contribute to long-term consequences, such as reduced self-esteem and heightened vulnerability to stress. The research underscores the importance of maintaining open, honest, and empathetic communication to support children’s emotional recovery after parental infidelity. It also recommends seeking professional assistance, such as counselors or psychologists, when families are unable to independently rebuild healthy communication patterns. This provides not only emotional relief but also preventive measures for further deterioration of family relationships.

Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML) is a markup language used to structure and format text documents through the use of tags that control the appearance of content on web pages. HTML defines various document elements such as headings, paragraphs, images, and lists, which form the basic structure of a webpage. JavaScript, on the other hand, serves as a programming language that adds interactivity and dynamics to web pages. While HTML provides the basic framework for website layout, JavaScript enhances functionality with features that cannot be achieved through HTML alone, such as dynamically manipulating elements and responding to user interactions. Together, these two languages form the core foundation for web development. This program aims to equip students of SMAN 58 with the skills to practice using HTML tags, understand the basics of JavaScript programming, and develop interactive web pages through online simulations. The training will be conducted in stages, beginning with the submission of a proposal to the school and followed by the scheduled training in June 2024. Students will use the One Compiler platform for real-time practice, allowing them to write and execute HTML and JavaScript code directly in the browser. The training will be conducted interactively, introducing the fundamental concepts of HTML and JavaScript, along with demonstrations showing how to create dynamic websites. In the final phase, students will take a quiz designed to assess their understanding of the material and their ability to apply the knowledge gained. Through this program, it is expected that students will master the basic skills of website creation and have the ability to independently develop their own interactive web projects. Additionally, this program aims to enhance students' digital awareness and technical skills in the era of information technology.

Mining activities in Mandailing Natal Regency, particularly in Kota Nopan, Huta Bargot, and Batang Natal Districts, play a significant role in the local economy while simultaneously generating complex legal, environmental, and social problems. Despite the existence of comprehensive national regulations such as the Mineral and Coal Mining Law and regional bylaws, enforcement remains weak, as indicated by the persistence of illegal mining (PETI), environmental degradation, and conflicts of interest among various stakeholders. This study aims to analyze the dynamics of mining law enforcement by employing a juridical-empirical approach that combines the review of statutory regulations, secondary data, and field observations in three sample districts. The findings reveal that law enforcement is far from optimal due to structural constraints, including limited institutional capacity and inconsistent implementation, as well as cultural and economic factors, such as the community’s dependence on mining as a primary livelihood. Moreover, political and economic interests often weaken oversight and create selective enforcement, further widening the gap between regulation and practice. The study emphasizes that law enforcement in the mining sector should not rely solely on repressive measures but must be integrated with community empowerment, sustainable livelihood alternatives, and the strengthening of institutional governance. Therefore, reforming regional regulations, improving inter-agency coordination, enhancing law enforcement capacity, and ensuring active community participation are crucial steps to build legal, fair, and sustainable mining governance in Mandailing Natal.

The Community Service Program (KKN) of Universitas Sebelas Maret, Group 217, conducted in Tegalweru Village, Dau District, Malang Regency, was designed to strengthen local economic capacity through strategies of value-added product development and the consolidation of MSME identity based on village potential. The socio-cultural homogeneity of the community, which largely depends on traditional agriculture, creates a paradox between strong social solidarity and weak economic diversification. This condition poses challenges such as limited innovation, low competitiveness, and the underutilization of local resources, thereby necessitating empowerment interventions capable of transforming traditional economic practices into more adaptive and sustainable business models. This study employed a qualitative descriptive approach through participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation to explore community responses to training on product value addition, packaging, branding, and basic promotional strategies. The findings reveal increased awareness and enthusiasm among MSME actors and housewives to develop local products through simple processing, representative packaging, and distinctive brand identity. These results underscore that KKN not only serves as an implementation of the Higher Education Tri Dharma but also as a strategic empowerment instrument to reinforce the foundation of community-based economic independence. Practically, the program provides a transformative platform for local enterprises, laying the groundwork for sustainable economic development aligned with both global dynamics and the specific needs of rural communities.

Shadow puppet craft training is a strategic intervention in preserving cultural heritage and strengthening the creative economy sector in Indonesia. To ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of training, a planning approach is needed that is not only conventional, but also based on quantitative analysis and intelligent systems. This community service proposes a training planning strategy using an interdisciplinary approach involving Operation Research, Design of Experiment (DoE), Simulation, Metaheuristic Algorithms, and Data Mining. This study begins with the identification of key training variables, such as duration, number of participants, initial competency level, teaching materials, and instructor resources. Through the DoE approach, various combinations of variables are systematically tested to identify the optimal training design. Next, Simulation is used to model the dynamics of training implementation and evaluate implementation scenarios. To predict training needs and participant behavior, Data Mining techniques are applied to historical data of arts community training. In the final stage, Metaheuristic algorithms such as Genetic Algorithm and Simulated Annealing are used to solve complex and large-scale scheduling and resource allocation problems. The results of the integration of these approaches show an increase in training efficiency of up to 27% as well as increased participant satisfaction and the quality of work results. This activity demonstrates that applying a quantitative, data-driven approach to traditional crafts training planning can provide significant added value. This model can be replicated in other training programs based on local wisdom and other creative industry sectors.

Earnings management is a deliberate strategy based on multidimensional considerations. The impact of earnings management practices is not necessarily positive, so mitigation measures are necessary to mitigate any negative impacts. This article aims to observe and analyze research developments regarding the role of the Board of Directors (BOD) in reducing discretionary accruals in Islamic banking. This article uses a qualitative literature study approach by analyzing articles from previous studies based on criteria that include article quality and research focus. Analysis of the answers to the research questions is conducted based on the results of empirical research in previous studies. Based on the analysis, a review of previous articles provides a strong argument that the role of the Board of Directors (BOD) plays a significant and complex role in influencing earnings management practices in the Islamic banking sector. The effectiveness of the BOD is not universal, but is highly dependent on its specific attributes, including competence, size, and activeness. It has been proven that competence is the attribute that plays the most role in reducing discretionary accruals. Meanwhile, characteristics such as board size and activeness show mixed results, indicating that mere physical and administrative presence is not enough without being balanced with substantive expertise, independence, and effective board work dynamics. This complexity is exacerbated by inconsistent findings and limited scope of studies on accrual techniques. Therefore, strengthening governance in Islamic banking must focus on improving the quality of human resources on the board of directors, especially in terms of technical expertise in finance and accounting. There is an academic gap for future research by exploring moderating variables, real manipulation techniques, and the dynamics of interactions between governance elements in the dual structure that characterizes Islamic banking

Marketing activities of limited liability companies (LLC) in Indonesia are not merely business strategies but also legal activities that entail juridical consequences. The increasingly complex dynamics of modern marketing, including digital marketing, e-commerce, and the utilization of consumer personal data, demonstrate that marketing activities cannot be separated from business law regulations, whether related to consumer protection, fair competition, electronic information, or personal data protection. Marketing by LLC in Indonesia is regulated by various laws aimed at creating fair, transparent transactions while avoiding practices that could harm consumers. From a business law perspective, marketing in Indonesia, especially within limited liability companies, plays a crucial role in maintaining the smooth operation of businesses that benefit not only the company but also the wider society, including consumers. Marketing activities by LLC must consistently adhere to the principles of law, including consumer protection and the obligation to ensure transparency in every promotional activity or advertisement. This study employs a normative juridical method with both statutory and conceptual approaches. The analysis is conducted qualitatively through systematic and teleological legal interpretation, supported by secondary legal materials such as academic literature and recent scholarly articles on business law and marketing. The findings reveal that marketing activities of limited liability companies are closely intertwined with business law, as all contracts, promotions, and marketing strategies constitute legal acts that must adhere to the principles of honesty, transparency, and fair competition. Revenue growth through effective marketing can only be achieved sustainably if it is designed in accordance with the principles of good corporate governance and legal compliance. Thus, marketing in the perspective of business law functions not only as a commercial tool but also as an instrument for creating legitimate, ethical, and equitable value for both the company and society.

The cosmetic and household goods industry in Indonesia continues to experience growth in line with increasing consumer demand and lifestyle changes. This sector plays an important role in supporting the national economy, but it is also vulnerable to fluctuations in market dynamics, global competition, and external challenges that may affect companies’ financial performance. The performance of these companies can be assessed through financial indicators, particularly profitability and solvency, which are often linked to firm value. This study aims to analyze the effect of profitability and solvency on firm value in the cosmetic and household goods subsector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the period 2019–2023. The research population consists of 11 companies, with 6 companies selected as the sample using purposive sampling techniques based on specific criteria. The data used are secondary data derived from financial statements obtained from the official IDX website (www.idx.co.id). The analytical method applied is quantitative with several statistical tests, including classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression, t-test, and F-test, assisted by SPSS version 22. The research findings indicate that profitability, proxied by Return on Assets (ROA), has a positive and significant partial effect on firm value (t-value 3.132 > t-table 2.04841). Solvency, proxied by the Debt to Equity Ratio (DER), also shows a positive and significant partial effect on firm value (t-value 5.810 > t-table 2.04841). Moreover, both profitability and solvency simultaneously have a positive and significant effect on firm value (F-value 86.997 > F-table 3.35). These results suggest that maintaining profitability and managing solvency effectively are key strategies for companies in enhancing firm value in a competitive market environment.
