The Tungku Bokong ritual is a traditional practice of the Manggarai people found in Reok and West Reok Districts, Manggarai Regency. This study aims to analyze the soteriological concept within the ritual, focusing specifically on its implementation in West Reok District. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach through in-depth interviews with customary leaders and a review of relevant literature. The findings reveal that Tungku Bokong literally means “reconnecting the provision (blessing),” referring to an effort to restore the flow of blessings believed to have been disrupted an interruption that is thought to cause life problems such as illness, misfortune, or nightmares. The uniqueness of this ritual lies in its understanding that suffering and life difficulties can become a gateway to blessings or restoration. The central questions guiding this research are how the Tungku Bokong ritual is regarded as an act of attaining salvation for an individual, and what meaning it holds for the people of West Reok District. The study shows that the salvation gained through this ritual is not only material but also involves the restoration of relationships with ancestors and the Creator (Mori Kraeng). Meanwhile, suffering and various life challenges are understood as consequences of a disrupted blessing and as a means of awakening individuals to return to a balanced life.

This article discusses the leva mass in Lamalera as one of the examples of the inculturation of the Catholic faith in local culture on the island of Lembata, East Nusa Tenggara. Inculturation is understood as a process of encounter between faith and culture, so that the proclamation of the gospel can be deeply lived in the context of the life of the local people. Through the leva mass, cultural elements such as sea symbols, boats (tena), traditional dances, traditional clothing, and regional songs are harmoniously integrated into the liturgy of the Catholic Church. For the Lamalera community, the sea is not only a source of livelihood, but a symbol of God's presence and power that blesses and protects human life. The celebration of the Mass emphasizes that God is present not only in the church building, but also in every aspect of human life, including work. The Leva Mass can also strengthen the spirit of brotherhood, solidarity, and the responsibility of the people towards His created nature. The people learn to be grateful for marine products, respect the environment, and work with the spirit of love and sacrifice. Thus, the leva mass is not just a religious ritual, but also a faith and cultural education that helps the people in understanding their call to live in harmony with nature and the will of God. Through the Mass of Leva, the Church in Lamalera portrays the living face of faith, the source of the gospel but rooted in the local culture.

This study aims to explore the symbolic meaning of the siraman ceremony in Javanese culture and interpret its values in light of the Catholic faith, particularly regarding the sanctity and blessings of the sacrament of marriage. The siraman tradition is understood not merely as a cultural ritual, but as a process of physical and spiritual purification imbued with spiritual symbolism, such as the use of water from seven springs and the granting of parental blessings. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature review method through analysis of Church documents, Javanese anthropological literature, and relevant research. The results indicate that the meaning of purification in siraman is closely related to the symbolism of baptismal water in the Catholic tradition, while the prayer of parental blessing aligns with the concept of blessing as a manifestation of God's grace in the family. Through the inculturation perspective emphasized in Gaudium et Spes and Ecclesia in Asia, siraman can be understood as a form of harmonious dialogue between faith and culture without compromising the purity of Church teachings. This study concludes that the siraman ceremony can enrich the experience of the sacrament of marriage for Javanese Catholics, while strengthening their identity as individuals of faith and culture.

The development of digital technology has led to significant changes in economic behavior, including among Muslim communities in Tegal Gubug. Economic activities that were once centered in traditional markets have now begun to shift to digital platforms such as marketplaces and social media. This study aims to examine the shift in the economic behavior of the Muslim community from direct interactions in Tegal Gubug Traditional Market to digital-based interactions in buying and selling transactions. The research employs a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collected through interviews and observations of Muslim traders and consumers who have transitioned to using digital platforms. The findings reveal that the main factors driving this shift are ease of access, time efficiency, and the expansion of marketing networks. However, the study also identifies challenges such as reduced direct social interaction among economic actors and a lack of understanding regarding the application of Islamic business ethics in the digital space. This research emphasizes the importance of internalizing Islamic values such as honesty, justice, and responsibility in every digital economic activity to ensure alignment with sharia principles.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a technology that has had a significant impact on various aspects of life, including science. Recent developments in AI have shifted the traditional boundaries of knowledge production and distribution, including in the religious realm. This research aims to fill the epistemological gap in contemporary Islamic legal thought by offering an integrative framework between traditional ijtihad and supervised digital ijtihad practices. This research uses a normative-qualitative (juridical-normative) approach. The researchers found that AI has the potential to be an effective tool for strengthening religious moderation, particularly through digital education, the dissemination of messages of tolerance, and the dissemination of counter-narratives against radicalism. For example, da'wah chatbots and digital interpretation applications can expand moderate religious literacy. However, the research also highlights various challenges, including epistemological issues stemming from AI's lack of a scientific chain of command, the risk of shifting authority from scholars to technology, and the lack of legal regulations governing responsibility for AI-generated religious content. Therefore, specific regulations and collaboration between scholars, the government, and technology developers are needed to ensure that AI continues to support the maqāṣid al-Shari'ah (the principles of Islamic law) and religious moderation.

This study aims to thoroughly examine the triadic relationship among the Internalization of Aswaja An-Nahdliyah Values, the Pedagogic Competence of Ustadz/Ustadzah, and the Academic Supervision by the Kyai at the Salafi Sunanul Huda Islamic Boarding School in Sukabumi Regency. The research urgency is based on the vital role of the pesantren (Islamic boarding school) as a fortress of moderate ideology and the existence of a research gap that has not holistically integrated these three variables within the specific Salafi-Nahdliyyah context of the locus. The Aswaja An-Nahdliyah values central to the internalization process include Tawasuth (moderation), Tasamuh (tolerance), I'tidal (justice/firmness), Tawazun (balance), and Amar Ma'ruf Nahi Munkar (enjoining good and forbidding wrong). This internalization is carried out through the formal curriculum (teaching Kitab Kuning using the Sorogan and Bandongan methods) and the non-curricular aspects (Kyai/Ustadz role-modeling and pesantren living values). The study utilizes a qualitative approach with a Case Study design. Data collection employs Method Triangulation involving In-depth Interviews (Kyai, Ustadz, Students), Limited Participatory Observation (learning processes and cultural activities), and Document Study (Lesson Plans, curriculum, and supervision reports). Data analysis employs the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana (Data Condensation, Data Display, and Conclusion Drawing). The research findings are expected to formulate the Integrated Model of Triguna Santri in Aswaja An-Nahdliyah Internalization, which synergizes traditional pesantren methods with culture-based quality assurance. Practically, these findings will provide blueprints for quality assurance (Cultural-Authoritative Academic Supervision) and recommendations for pedagogical strategies for Ustadz/Ustadzah to enhance the transfer of values from the cognitive level to the affective and behavioral domains. This model is expected to become a benchmark for developing educator competence and strengthening religious moderation in similar pesantren.

The Indonesian language holds a strategic role as a unifying national language as well as the medium of instruction in education. However, this role has not been fully internalized within indigenous communities such as the Baduy Dalam tribe, which is known for its strong adherence to tradition and the use of the Baduy dialect of Sundanese in daily life. This study aims to reveal the role of the Indonesian language in communication and education within the Baduy Dalam community and to analyze how the national language is adopted amidst the strong local culture. This research employs a qualitative method with data collection techniques including in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document studies conducted within the Baduy Dalam community in Lebak Regency, Banten. The results indicate that the Indonesian language is beginning to be used in educational contexts, especially in formal schools around the Baduy area, although its use remains limited in everyday interactions among community members. Proficiency and understanding of Indonesian are more dominant among the younger generation who receive formal education. The social implications of these findings include the opening of access to broader information and knowledge for the Baduy Dalam people, but also present challenges in preserving local language and cultural values. This study recommends educational approaches based on local wisdom to ensure that the role of the Indonesian language progresses in harmony with the preservation of the Baduy Dalam cultural identity.

Traditional arts as part of cultural heritage face significant challenges in maintaining their relevance amid social and cultural changes. One example is Calung Jinjing, a Sundanese bamboo-based performing art that originated from the creative process of students at Universitas Padjadjaran and later developed into a cultural reference within the wider community. This study examines the implementation of the Three-Act Structure in the scriptwriting process of the feature video “Suara dari Unpad: Jejak Calung Jinjing” as a strategy for conveying cultural messages effectively. The research aims to explain how the Three-Act Structure is applied to organize narrative flow, build emotional engagement, and strengthen the delivery of cultural meanings within a feature video format. This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach based on creative practice, supported by field research, observations, interviews with key cultural figures, and analysis of archival materials related to the history and development of Calung Jinjing. The findings indicate that the application of the Three-Act Structure—consisting of the beginning, middle, and ending acts—enables the scriptwriter to construct a coherent and communicative narrative that integrates historical context, cultural dynamics, and contemporary relevance. The structure helps transform research data into a compelling storyline while maintaining factual accuracy and cultural authenticity. This study implies that the Three-Act Structure can serve as an effective narrative framework for scriptwriting in cultural feature videos, particularly in presenting traditional arts as living social phenomena. Furthermore, the findings highlight the strategic role of scriptwriters in bridging cultural heritage and modern audiovisual storytelling.

The Calong traditional musical instrument from West Sulawesi is a cultural heritage of the Mandar people, possessing strong artistic and symbolic value. However, documentation of the instrument's construction and ornamentation remains limited. This study aims to identify the Calong's construction, analyze the variety of ornaments used, and uncover the aesthetic meaning and symbolism inherent in the instrument. The research method used was descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques including direct observation, documentation, interviews with craftsmen and artists, and a visit to the West Sulawesi Pavilion at the TMII (Indonesian Museum of Traditional Art) as a comparative source for cultural representation. The results indicate that the Calong's construction utilizes specific bamboo selection and splitting techniques, which influence its resonance quality. The ornamentation reflects symbols of the relationship between humans and nature, ancestors, and the Mandar people's philosophy of life. Aesthetically, the combination of form, texture, and motifs creates a distinctive visual character while strengthening its musical identity. The study's conclusions confirm that the Calong is not only a musical instrument but also a cultural artifact with aesthetic and symbolic value that is important to preserve through education, cultural awareness, and ongoing documentation.

This study examines how Christian marriage is represented in the modern era through theological, symbolic, and contextual perspectives. Although Christian marriage is traditionally understood as a sacred covenant emphasizing unity, fidelity, and permanence, contemporary social realities reveal shifts in how Christians interpret and express marital life. Economic pressures, evolving family roles, digital communication patterns, and cultural influences shape the modern experience of marriage. Using a descriptive qualitative approach through literature-based research, this study analyzes the theological foundations, ritual symbols, and contextual factors that influence changes in the representation of Christian marriage today. The findings indicate that while the core theological essence of Christian marriage remains, its practical expressions undergo adaptation to remain relevant within modern life. Symbols such as wedding rings, marital vows, and liturgical blessings continue to convey theological meaning, while premarital education and pastoral support play a crucial role in strengthening marital stability. The study highlights the need for a contextual and integrative ecclesial approach that responds to the realities faced by Christian couples in contemporary society.

This study aims to analyze the representation of hegemony in the film Kupu-Kupu Kertas using Antonio Gramsci’s hegemony theory and a literary sociology approach. As a medium of mass communication, film not only conveys stories but also produces and reproduces cultural values, ideologies, and power structures that operate subtly within society. Set against the historical backdrop of 1965, the film portrays ideological clashes between NU/Ansor and the PKI, which affect not only political spheres but also everyday culture, social relations, and moral dynamics that shape the collective consciousness of Javanese society. This research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through content analysis of the film using an observation–note technique to identify scenes, dialogues, and visual symbols related to culture, hegemony, and ideology. The analysis focuses on revealing how dominant values are constructed and negotiated through the representation of characters, narratives, and social traditions portrayed in the film. In conclusion, Kupu-Kupu Kertas not only documents the political tragedy of 1965 but also demonstrates that hegemony operates through subtle mechanisms embedded in culture, morality, and patterns of thought. This study affirms the relevance of Gramsci’s theory in examining literary works and films as social texts that practice power while also opening space for understanding individual resistance to ideological domination.

Negotiation is a strategic communication process in which multiple parties work to reconcile differences and reach mutually beneficial agreements through the exchange of information, interests, and viewpoints. Although traditional theories emphasize analytical elements such as developing a BATNA, crafting offer–counteroffer strategies, and employing persuasive framing, recent research underscores the growing importance of interpersonal competencies in shaping negotiation success. Through a qualitative literature-based approach, this study explores how empathy, assertive communication, and emotional regulation influence negotiation outcomes, examines their relevance in digital negotiation environments, and proposes an integrated training framework for professionals and entrepreneurs. The findings reveal that empathy strengthens a negotiator’s ability to interpret emotional cues, identify underlying concerns, and build trust, thereby minimizing miscommunication. Assertive communication supports clear expression of interests and boundaries while maintaining respect, which enhances collaborative problem-solving. Emotional regulation promotes composure and cognitive flexibility, particularly in high-pressure interactions. In technology-mediated negotiations conducted via email, messaging platforms, or virtual meetings, these skills must be adapted due to limited physical cues and higher risk of misinterpretation, requiring explicit wording and intentional emotional management. The proposed model incorporates empathy training, assertive communication development, emotional regulation practices, and digital negotiation skills to cultivate adaptive and emotionally intelligent negotiators.

The flash floods and landslides that occurred in Central Aceh and Bener Meriah Regencies demonstrate that disaster issues are not only related to natural factors but are also influenced by community social communication patterns. This study aims to analyze disaster communication based on local wisdom to improve preparedness, emergency response, and recovery of disaster-affected communities. The study used a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews with traditional leaders, religious leaders, village officials, and affected communities, as well as field observations and documentation studies. The results indicate that the local wisdom of the Gayo community, such as the role of the village reje, mosque imam, customary deliberations, and the value of maintaining natural balance, serves as an effective and trusted disaster communication medium. However, this local wisdom has not been optimally integrated into the formal disaster communication system of the local government. This study recommends strengthening the synergy between modern communication and local wisdom as a sustainable and contextual disaster communication strategy.

This study conducts a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) to examine how key dimensions of digital service quality—namely system quality, ease of use, perceived value, and payment availability—shape customer loyalty among Generation Z culinary consumers, with customer satisfaction functioning as the mediating variable. Bibliometric mapping reveals that previous studies have predominantly focused on Millennials and Gen Y and have emphasized traditional service quality rather than digital service performance, indicating a significant research gap in Gen Z–specific digital consumption behavior. The SLR findings show that fast, secure, stable, and user-friendly digital systems strongly influence perceived value and user satisfaction, while the availability of digital payments such as QRIS and e-wallets enhances seamless transactional experiences. Customer satisfaction emerges as the primary psychological mechanism mediating the relationship between digital service quality and Gen Z loyalty, reflected in repeat purchases, positive word of mouth, and emotional attachment to digital culinary platforms. This study contributes theoretically by addressing existing research gaps and proposing a conceptual model of Gen Z loyalty grounded in digital experience.
