Diabetes Mellitus is a medical condition usually characterized by blood glucose levels that exceed normal limits. Glucose in the blood comes from carbohydrates consumed through food, which are then stored as glycogen in the liver and skeletal muscles. Diabetes mellitus has a serious impact as the main cause of chronic complications, including coronary heart disease and stroke which accounts for 65% of deaths. Other complications, such as retinopathy and diabetic foot, are major causes of disability. Overall, these complications increase mortality, morbidity, disability, and the burden of medical costs. This article presents the results of research regarding blood glucose levels among the people of Kasilampe Village, Kendari City, Southeast Sulawesi. This activity involved 50 respondents consisting of 15 men (30%) and 35 women (70%). The aim of this research is to identify blood sugar levels and increase public understanding of the importance of carrying out regular health checks. The method used in this research is the accidental sampling method, namely by selecting individuals who are accessible and willing to take blood glucose level checks. The examination results showed that 35 respondents (70%) had blood glucose levels below 140 mg/dL, which indicates good glucose control. Based on the results of the examination, there were 7 respondents (14%) in the range of 140-199 mg/dL, which indicates that the respondent's glucose level was included in the pre-diabetes category and 8 respondents (16%) had glucose levels ≥ 200 mg/dL, which indicates that the The respondent's glucose is included in the Diabetes category. These findings emphasize the need for appropriate health interventions and education regarding healthy eating patterns to prevent diabetes mellitus. It is hoped that this activity can become the basis for a more effective diabetes prevention program in the community.

Xerosis or dry skin occurs when the skin loses moisture, causing itching, cracking and dullness. This condition is common in the elderly due to physiological changes such as decreased activity of the sebaceous and sweat glands, as well as impaired skin barrier function. Anemia and uncontrolled blood sugar levels can worsen dry skin conditions in the elderly. Therefore, this community service activity was carried out with the aim of increasing awareness of the elderly about the importance of maintaining healthy skin related to anemia and blood sugar. This activity includes education about preventing and managing dry skin, controlling blood sugar, and treating anemia. This activity uses the PDCA method to ensure that the activity process runs systematically and can be evaluated. The results of the activity showed that the majority of participants experienced mild anemia and a small number had abnormal blood sugar. This shows that intervention and health education are needed for the elderly group to improve their quality of life by maintaining hydration of their skin.

Insulin and glucagon, hormones secreted by the pancreas, regulate blood glucose, the main source of energy for cells. Insulin facilitates glucose uptake and glycogen synthesis, whereas glucagon increases blood glucose by stimulating glycogenolysis and gluconeogenesis in the fasting state. An increase in blood glucose above normal over a long period of time can cause diabetes mellitus. The prevalence of type 2 diabetes among the elderly in Indonesia is 6.2%, with a projected increase to 12 million cases by 2030. The causes include genetic factors, aging, unhealthy eating patterns, a lack of movement, and comorbidities such as obesity and hypertension. This activity uses the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Action) method, which aims to carry out blood glucose checks as an early detection of type 2 diabetes mellitus. The Hana Nursing Home in South Tangerang hosted this activity, which involved 61 participants. The results of the blood glucose examination showed that 15 people (24.58%) had diabetes and 33 people (54.1%) had pre-diabetes. Early detection and effective management are essential to prevent complications and maintain functional status.

Temporary blood sugar is the level of glucose in the blood that measured without considering the time of the last meal, and often used to detect diabetes mellitus or impaired glucose tolerance. This community service activity aims to describe the distribution of blood sugar levels in 68 men and women of productive age at  Kalam Kudus II High School, Jakarta. This community service activity is carried out using the Plan-Do-Check-Action method. The results showed that the majority of respondents had normal fasting blood sugar levels (97.1%), with an average of 113.26 mg/dL and a median of 104 mg/dL. Lifestyle factors, nutrition, genetics, and chronic medical conditions can affect blood sugar levels at any time. Regular monitoring of blood sugar levels is essential for early detection and management of diabetes mellitus, which can prevent serious complications such as cardiovascular disease and nephropathy. Prevention strategies include a healthy diet, physical activity, patient education, and appropriate medical interventions. Comprehensive public health programs are needed to increase awareness and management of diabetes, as well as improve the quality of life of individuals affected by this disease.
