This study aims to examine the influence of social media usage intensity on adolescents’ mental health in the digital era. Social media has become an essential part of teenagers’ lives as a means of communication, entertainment, and self-expression. However, excessive use can have negative impacts on psychological balance. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method through literature study, analyzing various journals, books, and relevant academic sources. The findings show that the higher the intensity of social media use, the greater the risk of mental health issues such as stress, anxiety, and depression. Conversely, wise and productive use can provide positive benefits, including increased self-confidence and social support. Therefore, maintaining balance in social media usage, along with the active roles of families and schools, is crucial for preserving adolescents’ mental well-being in the digital age.

This study examines youth slang (Jugendsprache) in the film Into the Beat (2020) through semantic and morphological approaches. The background of the research is based on the phenomenon of youth language development, which is dynamic, creative, and rich in socio-cultural meaning, yet often difficult for foreign speakers to understand. Youth language is chosen as the object of study because it reflects identity, group solidarity, and the communicative creativity of young people, and frequently appears in media, particularly films. The theoretical framework refers to experts’ perspectives on the characteristics of youth language, including the use of Anglicisms, abbreviations, metaphorization, and the formation of neologisms. The research method applied is descriptive qualitative, with data sources taken from the dialogues and subtitles of the film Into the Beat. The analysis is carried out based on Helmut Henne’s theory of youth language characteristics. The results reveal that youth slang in the film functions not only as a means of communication but also as a medium of emotional expression, lifestyle, and identity construction among German adolescents. Vocabulary such as alter, bro, krass, cool, and scheiße demonstrates creativity in morphological processes, including abbreviation, prefixation, and borrowing from foreign languages. The study concludes that youth slang plays an essential role in shaping characters, inter-character relationships, and the authenticity of the storyline. Furthermore, youth language reflects the evolving cultural and social dynamics of adolescents. This research is expected to contribute to linguistic studies, particularly semantics, and to serve as a valuable resource in German language learning by expanding vocabulary and fostering an understanding of authentic communication patterns among German teenagers.

This study aims to develop an interactive mobile application-based learning media to introduce Devanagari Sanskrit script to Indonesian teenagers. The background of this research is the lack of communicative, contextual, and engaging learning media for the digital generation in learning traditional scripts. The development method uses the ADDIE model modified with a visual communication design approach and integration of local Balinese cultural values. The results show that this media successfully combines strong visual elements, interactive voice narratives, and Balinese cultural iconography in one mobile-friendly platform. Validation from design and cultural experts shows a very high level of feasibility, supported by positive responses from student users at the Dvipantara Samskrtam Foundation. This research makes a real contribution to the preservation of traditional scripts through a digital educational approach that is adaptive to the learning needs of today's teenagers. In addition, this research also opens opportunities for the development of similar learning media for other traditional scripts, thereby increasing awareness and understanding of Indonesia's rich culture among the younger generation. By integrating technology in learning, it is hoped that the preservation of Indonesian culture can go hand in hand with the progress of the times.

This study investigates the role of peer social support in enhancing self-confidence among adolescents at the Amal Wanita An-Nur Orphanage in Depok, Indonesia. Adolescents living in orphanages often experience psychological challenges, including low self-confidence and limited social interaction, which can affect their personal growth and future orientation. The objective of this research is to explore how peer social support contributes to strengthening self-confidence and to identify the forms, driving factors, and obstacles of such support. A qualitative descriptive method was applied through observation, interviews, and documentation, involving seven informants consisting of the orphanage head, caregivers, and adolescents. Findings show that three types of support emotional, appraisal, and informational play a dominant role in fostering self-confidence. Emotional support was expressed through empathy and active listening, appraisal support was provided through recognition of achievements and encouragement, while informational support involved advice and constructive feedback. Meanwhile, instrumental and network support were less emphasized due to limited resources. Despite the presence of barriers such as feelings of inferiority, miscommunication, and differences in emotional readiness, peer support proved effective in motivating adolescents, strengthening their resilience, and fostering positive self-perception. The implications suggest the need for structured peer-support programs, facilitated by caregivers and social workers, to maximize adolescents’ potential and prepare them for future challenges. Thus, this study demonstrates that peer social support serves not only as a protective factor but also as a social learning tool that shapes adolescents' interpersonal skills. Targeted programs can increase self-confidence, expand social relationships, and create a more supportive and inclusive nursing home environment.

The purpose of this education is to increase public awareness, especially among teenagers, of the impacts of early marriage through educational seminars and Service-Learning-based outreach in Naga Kesiangan Village. Early marriage remains a critical issue in Indonesia, often associated with health risks, psychological stress, and limited educational and social opportunities for young people. The Service-Learning approach was chosen because it not only provides knowledge transfer but also actively engages participants in reflection and discussion, ensuring that the learning process is more contextual and sustainable. The method used was Service-Learning, involving 30 teenagers aged 15–19 years, 15 parents, and 5 community leaders who were purposively selected for their direct relevance to the issue. Activities included seminars, small group discussions, interactive question-and-answer sessions, and collective reflection. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in participants’ understanding, from 42% (pre-test) to 81% (post-test). Participants gained a deeper understanding of the health, psychological, social, and educational risks of early marriage and were encouraged to delay marriage by choosing positive alternatives through education and skill development. The misuse of social media in Indonesia has become an increasingly concerning issue, particularly among teenagers and university students who lack awareness of the legal consequences of digital activities. Students at Universitas Teknologi Mataram (UTM), as active social media users, are vulnerable to committing violations, whether consciously or unconsciously, due to limited understanding of the Information and Electronic Transactions Law (UU ITE). To address this, digital law literacy is necessary to help students become more aware of existing legal boundaries and to encourage them to use social media as a positive tool for self-development and academic purposes. This community service program was designed to provide digital law education as a preventive measure against social media misuse among students. The methods employed included interactive socialization through lectures, discussions, case studies, and the distribution of legal literacy materials such as leaflets and infographics. The results showed an improvement in students’ understanding of the importance of ethics, legal compliance, and the risks of digital misconduct, including hate speech, hoax dissemination, and other online violations. The program also introduced the latest provisions of Law No. 1 of 2024 concerning the amendment of Law No. 11 of 2008 on Information and Electronic Transactions (UU ITE). Overall, this activity highlights the importance of continuous digital law education to encourage UTM students to be wiser, more critical, and responsible in their use of social media.
