The implementation of tax law has a crucial position in improving tax compliance and maintaining the stability of state finances. In Indonesia, although there is an adequate legal basis, the implementation of tax law still faces a number of problems such as violations of supervision, inefficient sanctions, and low understanding of taxation. This study aims to analyze ideas for the implementation of tax law, identify taxpayer conditions, and disseminate the effectiveness of law implementation in order to build a fair and sustainable taxation system. The method used is a literature review with a juridical-normative approach. The results of the study show that the success of law implementation is greatly influenced by regulations, human resources, information technology, and political commitment and cooperation between institutions. Therefore, a comprehensive strategy is needed in the form of regulatory reform, digitalization of supervision, improving the quality of human resources, and public education so that tax compliance can increase significantly and sustainably.

Since tax revenues are declining annually, it is evident that Indonesian taxpayer compliance is still at a low level. The declining number of taxpayers in KPP Pratama Sleman Regency each year is another indicator of taxpayer compliance and the negative attitude of private taxpayers. The goal of this study is to determine the relative importance of tax penalties, taxpayer knowledge, taxpayer awareness, and taxpayer attitudes. Quantitative approaches are used in this study. The sample in this study consisted of a few KPP Sleman personnel, while the population consisted of 50 respondents, who were KPP Sleman taxpayer consumers. Random sampling was the sampling method employed in this study. Multiple regression is the data analysis method employed, and the analysis's findings indicate that Taxpayer Knowledge of Taxpayer Compliance is attained at t = 9.338 > -4.911ttable with a sig level of 0.00 < sig.α (0.05), meaning that Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected. As a result, H1—the research hypothesis that "Taxpayer Knowledge has a considerable effect on Taxpayer Compliance"—is accepted. Value Added Tax (VAT) is one of the key sources of state revenue within Indonesia’s taxation system. VAT is imposed on the consumption of goods and services domestically and is categorized as an indirect tax, meaning it is ultimately borne by the end consumer but collected and reported by taxable entrepreneurs. This study aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the VAT mechanism, including its collection, reporting, and the challenges encountered in its implementation in Indonesia. The research method employed is a literature review using a descriptive-qualitative approach that analyzes laws, official documents, and academic literature. The findings indicate that although VAT significantly contributes to the State Budget (APBN), its application still faces several issues such as low taxpayer compliance, administrative complexity, and inequality in tax burden distribution. Therefore, tax policy reform and administrative improvements are needed to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of VAT collection in Indonesia.

This study aims to review the legal aspects and impacts of the vehicle tax amnesty policy on increasing Regional Original Income or PAD due to late payment of vehicle tax, which has become one of the strategies adopted by local governments to optimize tax revenues and maintain the validity of vehicle data. This study uses normative juridical as its approach to review laws and regulations and uses relevant literature studies. The results of the study reveal that normatively, this policy has a strong legal basis and has been empirically proven to be able to increase tax revenues in the short term. However, there is a potential for a long-term decline if the policy is not accompanied by adequate supervision and education. Therefore, harmonious, transparent implementation and increased socialization are needed to avoid taxpayer misunderstandings. This study contributes to the understanding of the importance of balance between fiscal incentives and the powerlessness of regional tax governance.

State revenue from taxes plays a vital role in financing national development. However, tax realization often faces challenges in the form of low levels of taxpayer compliance, which creates a gap between potential and actual revenue. This study aims to analyze the implementation of tax intensification and extensification strategies in optimizing state revenue, including policy effectiveness, obstacles in the field, and alternative approaches to improve compliance and tax potential. This article discusses efforts to optimize state revenue through two main strategies, namely tax extensification and intensification, with reference to case studies and data from various institutions and regions. Extensification focuses on broadening the tax base through attracting new taxpayers, while intensification refers to improving the efficiency and effectiveness of collection from existing taxpayers. The analysis shows that the main obstacles in implementing these two strategies include low tax awareness, weak monitoring systems, and inconsistent data between agencies. Therefore, a more comprehensive, data-driven, and taxpayer education-oriented policy integration is needed to reduce the compliance gap and promote sustainable revenue growth.

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the implementation of Income Tax Article 25 (PPh 25) in increasing state tax revenue and reducing the tax burden on taxpayers. PPh 25 is a mechanism for periodic tax installment payments made by taxpayers based on estimated tax liabilities. This research adopts a descriptive quantitative approach using secondary data obtained from the Directorate General of Taxes’ reports, supported by questionnaires distributed to taxpayers within a specific Tax Service Office (KPP) area. The results show that the implementation of PPh 25 contributes significantly to tax revenue by encouraging taxpayer compliance and ensuring a stable cash flow for the state. Additionally, the installment system of PPh 25 helps reduce the annual tax burden on taxpayers both psychologically and administratively, as obligations are paid in stages. However, challenges remain in the accuracy of estimating tax liabilities, which can lead to overpayment or underpayment. Therefore, more intensive socialization and technical guidance are needed to improve taxpayers’ understanding and compliance with the PPh 25 mechanism.

The Land and Building Tax (Pajak Bumi dan Bangunan or PBB) is one of the regional taxes that plays a strategic role in increasing local revenue (Pendapatan Asli Daerah or PAD). PBB is levied on taxable objects in the form of land and/or buildings, as well as on taxpayers who own or control these objects. This study aims to analyze the role of PBB in supporting regional development, the level of public awareness in paying PBB, and the challenges in its collection process. The research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collected through literature studies and documentation. The results show that PBB significantly contributes to PAD, especially in areas with rapid property growth. However, there are still obstacles such as lack of public outreach, suboptimal administrative systems, and varying levels of taxpayer compliance. Therefore, efforts are needed to improve service systems, educate the public, and strengthen regulations in the implementation of PBB to ensure it is more effective and efficient in supporting regional development.

This study discusses the comparison of taxation systems between developed and developing countries, focusing on the strategic role of taxes in national development, tax administration challenges, and the relationship between public service quality and taxpayer compliance. Using a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study method, this research compares Sweden, a developed country known for its transparent and efficient tax system, with Indonesia, a developing country that still faces challenges in tax collection and administration. The findings reveal that the success of a tax system depends greatly on transparency, public service quality, and public trust. In developed countries, taxes serve not only as state revenue but also as tools for income redistribution and economic control. Meanwhile, in developing countries, the main obstacles include low compliance, legal uncertainty, weak enforcement, and underdeveloped administrative culture. Therefore, tax reform is essential to improve tax system effectiveness and public participation. This study recommends regulatory improvement, increased tax literacy, and service innovation to build a fair, transparent, and sustainable tax system.

This study aims to examine the influence of Perceived Ease and Perceived Usefulness of the Unified e-Bupot System and e-Form on Taxpayer Compliance. The population in this study consisted of corporate taxpayers who utilized the services of tax consultant Edwin Suwandhy. A random sampling technique was applied, resulting in 66 respondents being selected. This research follows a quantitative approach, using questionnaires as the data collection method. The data obtained from the samples were analyzed using a multiple linear regression model. The study’s findings reveal that the perceived ease of using the Unified e-Bupot system positively influences taxpayer compliance. The greater the understanding and familiarity corporate taxpayers have with the e-Bupot Unification system, the easier they find it to comply with income tax reporting regulations. On the other hand, the perceived usefulness of the e-Bupot Unification system does not have a significant impact on taxpayer compliance. This result suggests that the perceived benefits of the system are not sufficiently compelling to improve corporate taxpayer compliance. Similarly, the perception of ease and usefulness of e-Form also showed no significant effect on taxpayer compliance. This is likely because corporate taxpayers feel that the e-Form system is not easy to use, and the perceived advantages of the system are still considered insufficient to drive compliance. These findings emphasize the importance of improving both the ease of use and the perceived benefits of the e-Bupot and e-Form systems to enhance taxpayer compliance. Future policy improvements should focus on increasing user experience and addressing any gaps in the perceived utility of these tax reporting systems, especially for corporate taxpayers.
