The presence of the LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender) community has sparked considerable controversy in Indonesia, especially on social media, which has become a popular platform for interaction. TikTok, in particular, has provided a space for the LGBT community to express themselves through sharing content. This study focuses on the opposing attitudes manifesting as discrimination towards the TikTok account @Ockmockey16. The research employs Norman Fairclough's critical discourse analysis technique with a qualitative approach. The findings reveal interactions in the comment section of @Ockmockey16's TikTok account where numerous responses exhibit opposition, employing connotations and metaphors aimed at marginalizing the LGBT community. Examples of such connotations or metaphors include sosis ketemu sosis, pedang pedangan, pisang kepok dan pisang candi, musang jantan dgn musang jantan.

This study aims to describe the meaning of denotation, meaning of connotation, and myth in the traditions of Ngulihi Tudung in the Karo tribe. This study is a qualitative descriptive study by applying a semiotic approach developed by Roland Barthes to uncover aspects of sign communication in the marriage tradition of Karo Ngulih Tudung which later differed from the public view of marriage traditions that began to be distorted. The data obtained in this study is a sentence, dialogue or sign that can communicate the message to be delivered to the marriage tradition of Ngulihi Tudung tribe Karo. The data analysis technique is to carefully identify signs and symbols in the Tudung Tradition, divide them into markers and markers, analyze the relationship of signs to form more complex meanings, analyse the meaning of denotations, analyse meaning of connotations based on cultural historical context to mythology as ideology based on the study of Roland Barthes' Semiotics, and write the conclusions of the research. The results of the study show that the meaning of the denotation in the marriage tradition of Ngulihi Tudung seeks to show the most tangible meaning in the sign. In other words, the Denotation of Roland Barthers in the sentence found in the Marriage tradition is what is described by the sign against an object. Connotation is expressive, involving more subjective and objective experience. In the marriage tradition Ngulihi Tudung invites the public to criticize as sharply as myths can see certain values or norms that work in society.

Among the many verses used in the Dolalak Dance, the verse "Atas Pisang" holds a unique position. This verse is often recited at the end of the performance, signifying a solemn and message-laden conclusion. This study aims to examine the symbolism and meaning within the ‘Atas Pisang’ verse in the Dolalak Dance. This research is a qualitative interpretive study employing Roland Barthes' semiotic approach regarding denotation and connotation meanings. The findings indicate that the ‘Atas Pisang’ verse in the Dolalak Dance, through its symbolism and metaphors, conveys various relevant and wise life advice. The balance between visible outcomes and underlying essence, hope and recovery from difficulties, the importance of actions in pursuing desires, appreciation of the past and experiences, and wisdom in family relationships are the main messages conveyed. The ‘Atas Pisang’ verse teaches that a balanced life, filled with hope, active pursuits, appreciation of the past, and wisdom in family relationships are keys to achieving a harmonious and meaningful life.

Poetry is a literary work full of meaning and symbolism. One poem that is interesting to analyze semantically is "My Heart is as Wide as a Leaf" by Sapardi Djoko Damono. In this article, we carry out an in-depth analysis of the hidden meanings in the poem. We use a semantic approach to explore the meaning of each line of poetry, identifying the metaphors, symbolism and connotations used by the poet. The analysis in this research uses a descriptive method, which describes the data naturally and produces good and coherent linguistic rules. Apart from that, we also pay attention to the structure and arrangement of words chosen by Sapardi Djoko Damono to express the implied messages in this poem. Through this analysis, we seek to understand more deeply the message the poet wants to convey, as well as explain how the use of language and symbolism in this poem can affect the reader emotionally and intellectually. It is hoped that the results of this analysis will provide new insights into Sapardi Djoko Damono's literary works and enrich understanding of modern Indonesian poetry.

. In this era, globalization and information technology play a very important role in human life. Playing a role in selecting consumer products, people rely on technology and information media in selecting goods that suit their needs. This research aims to determine the content of the da'wah message in the Pepsodent Siwak advertisement and to determine the meaning of connotation and denotation in the Pepsodent Siwak advertisement. The research approach used by literature (library research) is descriptive qualitative and the analysis uses Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis method, regarding the content of the Pepsodent Siwak advertisement's Da'wah message. The research results show that: 1) the denotational meaning of the Pepsodent advertisement is that there is still a lack of awareness among Indonesian people about brushing their teeth morning and night, especially parents. Meanwhile, the connotation means that a father as a role model for children often does not set a good example for children, and this advertisement shows that there is more closeness between father and child. The myth that emerges is the closeness of boys to their fathers and the myth that adult men do not pay enough attention to dental and oral health. 2) The content of the da'wah message is divided into three dimensions, namely the faith dimension, the moral dimension and the sharia dimension. The specific social meaning and impact as a symbol of the message of Islamic da'wah in the Pepsodent Siwak advertisement in society is that it aims to seek salvation in the afterlife.

The film Yuni tells the story of the struggle of a woman who wants to break gender stereotypes to gain the rights and freedom to choose for herself. By using Serang Javanese, Sundanese and Indonesian, this film attracts the attention of the audience. Yuni is a high school teenager who lives in a small town who has dreams of going to college after graduating from school. Yuni really likes the color purple. She is also a smart student at her school. With the support of a female teacher at her school, she is very enthusiastic about wanting to took a scholarship to go to college, but this desire was hindered by the environment around him which still held strong eastern culture and he was pressured to marry immediately after graduating from school. This research is a qualitative descriptive study that uses the film Yuni 2021 to present facts about inequality and the meaning of gender that were discovered at that time. The aim of the research is to describe and analyze phenomena and other social activities. This research takes a qualitative approach with its methodology. This research aims to determine the gender equality found in the film Yuni. The results of the analysis that the author presents are connecting the scenes of each scan, then understanding the meaning of the signs contained in the film Yuni which consist of visual and audio: (1) women cannot go to high school (2) women cannot do whatever they want. Denotational meaning, the women represented in the film Yuni show that the role of women is always attached to the domestic realm, having limitations in movement, in education. The connotation meaning of women in the film Yuni shows that Yuni has the courage to make a decision within herself to have the same rights in obtaining the same education as men.

Language politeness is the values of politeness or ethics when speaking that are contained in the social rules of society. Language politeness plays an important role in communication because in communicating speakers not only pronounce the sounds of the language, but also ensures that the speech can be accepted by speech partners. Therefore, research on linguistic politeness is interesting to do, especially linguistic politeness in social media that is widely accessed by the public, one of which is the TikTok channel. This research was conducted to identify the principles of language politeness in 2 minutes 46 seconds video on @iamegamei's TikTok channel. The video criticizes the labeling of Indians as Vrindavan or Prindapan with negative connotations that are often done by Indonesian netizens. This research method uses descriptive qualitative pragmatic method with observing and note-taking techniques. Then the data is analyzed using a pragmatic equivalent method. From the research that has been conducted, it is found that the obedience and violation of language politeness thimbles. However, thimble violations dominate, causing language impoliteness in the TikTok video of @iamegamei's account.

Every song has an important meaning that the singer intends to communicate to the audience. To have a thorough understanding of the music you wish to express, you might delve into its connotative meaning. The aims of this study were to identify the types of connotative meaning from the lyrics in selected song albums by Maroon 5 “Red Pill Blues”. The data were analyzed uses descriptive qualitative method based on the theory proposed by Leech (1974). This study found 25 data, based on the theory used there are three categorize of connotative meaning from the data above namely; positive connotative, negative connotative and neutral connotative with positive connotation as a highest occurrence. The finding show that connotative meaning is becoming increasingly. Common and maybe as a suitable learning medium. This research will provide learning with deep understanding about the meaning of the word.

This research is to find out how the content analysis of religious messages on the opening ceremonial broadcast of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. This research uses descriptive qualitative with data analysis techniques in the form of observation and documentation. The results showed that typographically, the Opening Ceremonial of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 by providing information about the religious message to be conveyed. There are several contents of religious messages in the Fifa World Cup Qatar 2022 Opening Ceremonial broadcast, namely peace, unity in diversity and conveying messages of humanity, tolerance and unity between nations. This broadcast invites following the Commandments of the Quran such as not drinking beer or women dressing sexy and conveying messages of humanity, tolerance and unity between nations. Eastern society uses robes not as a means of worship, but also in daily life.

This research uses qualitative methods with semiotic analysis from Roland Barhes. Semiotics is a method for analyzing signs to find meaning in social and cultural phenomena. The aim of this research is to find out what visual meaning is contained in the Ichsan Gorontalo University logo which is used as an agency identity in terms of denotation, connotation and myth. Corporate identity is a reflection of the vision and mission which are visualized through the logo. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method, namely the data collected is in the form of words and images. With the right logo, the message regarding the company's desired identity can be represented effectively. Data collection techniques use documentation/library techniques and observation. The results of this research will explain the meaning of the Ichsan Gorontalo University logo which has signs/symbols and colors that will be differentiated based on Roland Barthes' approach.

This research aimed to analyze bullying scenes in "A Silent Voice" animation from Kyoto Animation Studio directed by Naoko Yamada. In this study, the researcher used Roland Barthes Semiotics analysis research method consisted of three analysis meanings which are denotation, connotation, and myth utilized an analysis unit which are some scenes in "A Silent Voice" animation, and used information source in a form of documentation from "A Silent Voice" animation. The research result indicates that "A Silent Voice" movie has bullying scenes which can be categorized into three types namely physical bullying, verbal bullying, and relational bullying. Other than that, "A Silent Voice" animation illustrates that there are still many unjustice and bullying in school. This movie is useful so that people do not ignore bullying cases in school or other places

In the Qur'an, the word will is often found with different meanings and connotations other than just a message before death. This difference is caused by the use of different will words in the context of the problem. A will is a voluntary gift made by someone to another person, which is made after the death of the giver (testator). Because wills have the nature of worship (human relationship with God), they are also a legal act, a means of getting closer to Allah (taqorrub ilallah) which is often done by many people, especially those who have sufficient wealth. In practice, a will is usually made by someone orally or in writing. This is done so that other people know that this is his will. This research aims to examine the meaning of a will, the reasons for making a will, the wisdom of making a will, the law of wills, the types of wills, the pillars of wills, and the amount of assets that can be bequeathed. The approach used in this research is a qualitative approach with a type of library research. Researchers obtain data from books, journals, articles and others related to the theme or title being discussed.

Based on the explanation above, the aim of the problem is to find out the meaning of a mother's struggle and the meaning of denotation, connotation and myth in the song Dawai (Air Mata Di Ujung Sajadah)? This research methodology uses a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis methods. This analysis uses semiotic theory which refers to Roland Barthes' model, which focuses on the meaning of denotation, connotation and myth.

This research titled ‘The meaning of Koto in Kono Oto Tomare’s anime movie’. This movie is an adaption from manga Kono Oto Tomare! writen by Amyuu. This movie tells about the struggles of Tokise’s high school student which joined in Tokise’s Koto Club to defended their club from disbanded by vice principal. Method which used in this research is descriptive-qualitative method. For data analysis used Roland Barthes Semiotic theory. Roland Barthes Semiotic has two step of signification, first step has denotation, and then developed it into the second step that is connotation or myths.

. Religious value is a cultural value that is passed from generation to generation to form a national character value. Religious values ​​as a cultural value can not only be seen in religious rituals, but can also be seen in campursari song. This research is conducted to find out the meaning and symbolic on tembang campursari. This research using a qualitative descriptive approach with Roland Barthes semiotic perspective. Data is collected by using documentation collection techniques on the song Campursari entitled Kelayung Layung by Deny Caknan. The results of the analysis indicate that (1) in the meaning of the denotations, connotations, and myths contained in the song Campursari Kelayung Layung has the meaning that humans as God’s creatures cry a lot for fear of death. In fact, as a human being, we must be aware that death will definitely come, but we never know when death will come.; (2) The symbolic meaning of the song Kelayung Layung has a meaning about the symbol of death. Humans die have no meaning anymore, both rank, degree, and wealth. Implication of this research shows that humans have to be aware about death.

Integration of the Kneter-Ktaek Indigenous Philosophy in Learning History at the Indonesia-Timor Leste Border The method in this research is a qualitative approach with the library study method, namely collecting or conducting document studies on sources and literature related to this study. This article contains a stylistic analysis of the lyrics of the song “Asmalibrasi” by Soegi Bornean. The discussion of this article focuses on the aspects of connotative diction and the use of figure of speech in the lyrics. The research method used to analyze the lyrics of the song is a qualitative descriptive method. The data analysis techniques used in this study are (1) selecting data; (2) code; (3) classifying data; (4) data description; and (5) data interpretation. The object of this research is the lyrics of the song "Asmalibrasi" by Soegi Bornean. From the analysis carried out, it shows that the diction contained in the lyrics of the song is mostly connotative. The connotative diction that is widely used in the lyrics of the song is a manifestation of the songwriter's creativity when creating the lyrics to his songs. In addition, the lyrics of the song also use a lot of figure of speech including, metaphorical figure of speech, allegorical figure of speech and hyperbole figure of speech.
