Understanding mathematical concepts is a fundamental ability that elementary school students must possess, particularly in multiplication, which serves as a foundation for learning more advanced mathematical topics. Based on the conditions observed in the fourth-grade class at UPT SDN 185 Gresik, there are still students who do not fully understand the concept of multiplication, as the learning process tends to emphasize memorization rather than conceptual understanding. In addition, differences in learning styles and gender are suspected to influence students’ conceptual understanding abilities. Therefore, this study aims to describe the conceptual understanding of fourth-grade students in multiplication, viewed from their learning styles and gender. This study employs a descriptive qualitative research method, with six fourth-grade students of UPT SDN 185 Gresik as the research subjects. Data were collected through learning style questionnaires, concept understanding tests and questionnaires, and interviews. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, based on indicators of conceptual understanding. Data validity was ensured using triangulation of techniques, sources, and time. The results of the study indicate that auditory learners tend to have better conceptual understanding compared to visual and kinesthetic learners, and female students outperform male students. Based on these findings, teachers need to implement differentiated instruction tailored to students’ learning styles: using diagrams, images, and colored multiplication tables for visual learners; applying discussions, question-and-answer sessions, and repeated verbal explanations for auditory learners; and utilizing concrete teaching aids along with hands-on activities for kinesthetic learners to optimize conceptual understanding.

This study aims to analyze the influence of national income, as measured by Gross Domestic Product (GDP), on poverty levels in Indonesia from a sharia economic perspective. The research method used is quantitative with a simple linear regression approach, supported by a literature review to enrich the analysis from an Islamic perspective. The data used is annual secondary data from the 2010-2023 period sourced from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). The results indicate that national income (GDP) has a negative and significant effect on poverty levels in Indonesia, meaning that every increase in GDP is followed by a decrease in the percentage of the poor. From a sharia economic perspective, national income growth must be accompanied by a fair distribution mechanism through zakat, infaq, sedekah, and waqf (ZISWAF) instruments so that its benefits can be felt by all levels of society, in line with the concepts of falah and maqashid sharia.

This study aims to analyze intersubjectivity, love, and hope in the anime The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity through the perspective of the existentialist philosophy of Gabriel Marcel. The research employs a qualitative method using a literature review and content analysis approach. Data were collected from relevant philosophical texts on Marcel’s thought and from the analysis of scenes, dialogues, and character development in the anime. The findings reveal that the relationship between Kouruko Waguri and Rintaro Tsumugi reflects the concept of intersubjectivity as an authentic encounter between “I” and “Thou,” where both individuals recognize each other as subjects. The concepts of being and presence are manifested through genuine presence and relational openness, while having functions as a supporting element that does not lead to possessiveness. Furthermore, fidelity, love, and hope emerge as central dimensions in the fulfillment of the characters’ existence, as these aspects enable their relationship to develop in a meaningful and profound way. This study demonstrates that popular cultural works such as anime can serve as relevant media for philosophical reflection in understanding human existence as inherently relational.

The problem of urban flooding is a growing issue due to high population density, increasing volumes of plastic waste, and the reduction of water absorption areas. The use of conventional paving blocks, which are impermeable, further exacerbates flooding conditions because they do not allow water to infiltrate into the soil. This study aims to develop an innovative plastic waste-based paving block incorporating rice straw and sugarcane bagasse, along with the integration of phytoremediation concepts as a solution for urban flood mitigation. The method employed was an experimental approach involving the following stages: material preparation, plastic incineration, material mixing, molding, and testing of water absorption capacity and compressive strength. The results showed that paving blocks with a combination of plastic waste, rice straw, and sugarcane bagasse had the highest water absorption rate of 34% and compressive strength of 21 kg/cm², meeting SNI standards. The addition of natural materials containing silica was proven to enhance the material’s porosity and strength. Additionally, the application of phytoremediation using water hyacinth has the potential to improve the quality of water seeping into the soil. Thus, this phytoremediation-based paving block innovation can serve as an effective alternative solution to reduce flood risks while supporting sustainable waste management and environmental stewardship.

The research in this paper aims to explore the concepts and principles of the educational environment from the perspective of the Qur'an and Hadith using a tafsir tarbawi (educational exegesis) approach. The developmental dynamics of human potential, both spiritual and intellectual, do not occur in a vacuum but are heavily influenced by environmental factors (educational ecology). By employing textual, thematic, and contextual analysis methods on several key verses such as QS. Al-Alaq: 1-5, QS. At-Tahrim: 6, QS. Luqman: 13-19, QS. Al-Kahfi: 66-70, and QS. Al-Hujurat: 13 this study maps the Islamic educational ecosystem into several primary domains. The results of the analysis indicate that the Qur'an constructs the educational environment as an integrative macro-systemic unity, comprising the domestic family environment (as a fortress for moral and creedal protection), the formal academic school/pesantren environment (as a space for teacher-student etiquette and ethics), and the socio-communal environment (as an arena for egalitarian multicultural inclusivity). Furthermore, this study formulates five fundamental paradigms of Islamic educational ecology: the integralistic, tawhid (monotheistic), humanistic-egalitarian, gradual-systemic, and transformational-emancipatory paradigms. This theoretical reconstruction corrects Western secular empiricism while simultaneously providing a holistic foundation for educators in managing an educational environment that aligns with divine revelation values and the demands of modern civilization.

Islamic education management in the contemporary era is no longer adequate if understood solely as an administrative activity, but must be built on a solid philosophical, ethical, and spiritual foundation. This article aims to analyze the concept of Islamic education management from the perspective of Al-Ghazali and Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas and examine the relevance of its implementation for contemporary Islamic education management. This study uses a qualitative approach with a library research type. Data were obtained from the primary works of both figures and various relevant secondary sources, then analyzed through a comparative-conceptual approach with qualitative content analysis techniques and hermeneutic reading. The results show that Al-Ghazali emphasizes the ethical-spiritual dimension of education through the integration of knowledge, charity, morals, and purification of the soul, while al-Attas emphasizes the epistemological-philosophical dimension through the concepts of ta'dib, adab, and the Islamic worldview. Both have a common ground in the view that Islamic education must be directed at the formation of knowledgeable, civilized, and moral human beings, and should not be reduced to a technical process with neutral value. In terms of implementation, this study synthesizes the thoughts of both figures relevant to strengthening education, leadership, curriculum and learning management, institutional culture formation, and holistic educational evaluation. Therefore, Islamic educational management is ideally built on a foundation of ethical-spiritual and epistemological-philosophical integration to ensure effective, valuable, and transcendental-oriented educational governance.

The accelerating global ecological crisis, manifested in deforestation, biodiversity collapse, and extreme climate change, fundamentally reflects a deep-rooted moral and spiritual deterioration within modern humanity. Islamic Religious Education (PAI) holds a unique strategic position to address this crisis by systematically integrating naturalistic intelligence, the eighth dimension of Howard Gardner's Multiple Intelligences theory, into the character formation process of students. This qualitative library research employs content analysis and conceptual analysis techniques applied to relevant primary and secondary academic sources published between 2019 and 2026. The study pursues three objectives: (1) to examine the conceptual and theological foundations of naturalistic intelligence within the Islamic educational framework; (2) to identify the reciprocal relationship patterns between naturalistic intelligence and the formation of religious-ecological character in students; and (3) to formulate integrative Islamic education management strategies for optimizing naturalistic intelligence. Findings reveal that naturalistic intelligence possesses robust theological grounding in Islamic tradition, anchored in the concepts of tafakkur, ayat kauniyah, khalifatullah fil ardh, and scientia sacra, none of which are peripheral but rather central to the Islamic worldview. The relationship between naturalistic intelligence and religious-ecological character is bidirectional and mutually reinforcing, operating through three sequential pathways: from naturalistic intelligence to theological consciousness, from theological consciousness to intrinsic ecological motivation, and from intrinsic motivation to consistent religious-ecological behavior. Islamic education management can optimize naturalistic intelligence development through four strategic pillars: reconstruction of the PAI curriculum based on ayat kauniyah, development of innovative eco-theological pedagogy, construction of an eco-conscious school culture, and strengthening of school-family-community partnerships. This study advances the concept of "Spiritual Eco-Literacy" as an original paradigmatic contribution to 21st-century Islamic education.

This research investigates the concepts of heaven and hell within Nias culture and compares them with Catholic Church teachings, exploring their implications for Catholic Religious Education (PAK). Driven by the disparity in eschatological understanding between local culture and Catholic doctrine, and the crucial role of inculturation in faith life, a qualitative approach employing literature review was adopted. Data sources included Church documents, books, and relevant scholarly journals. Findings reveal that Nias culture perceives post-mortem existence not as a dualistic heaven or hell, but as a continuation in the spirit world, influenced by social status and adherence to tradition. In contrast, Catholic teachings define heaven and hell as outcomes of humanity's relationship with God. The inculturation process highlights a dialogue between cultural values and Christian faith, demonstrating that integrating local cultural values into PAK can enhance students' faith experience, making learning more relevant and transformative within their contexts.

The development of Pantai Indah Kapuk 2 (PIK 2) presents serious issues, including eviction, the loss of traditional livelihoods, and the marginalization of local communities within a modernization agenda that disregards social justice and sustainability. This research questions the extent to which the dominant modernization bias influences the socio-economic conditions of the surrounding community, as well as how public participation practices are implemented in the planning and execution of the project. The PIK 2 project has led to social inequality, the deprivation of rights, and environmental degradation, illustrating a pattern of systemic exploitation of coastal communities through the economic and political power of development elites. The dominant development theory framework proposed by Melkote and Steeves is used to examine modernization bias, supplemented by Islamic concepts such as mustadh’afin and ghasab to strengthen the social justice perspective. In this study, the author employs a qualitative case study approach, utilizing in-depth interviews, field observations, and documentation involving affected residents, community leaders, and policymakers. The results of the analysis indicate very low levels of public participation, instances of intimidation during land acquisition, and a significant loss of access to employment and basic facilities for the community. The conclusion of this research emphasizes the need for policy reform to ensure that development is more transparent, participatory, and equitable, in order to protect the rights of local communities from dominant and exploitative development patterns.

This research reconstructs the concept of the ideal human being in Aristotelian philosophy and formulates its implications for contemporary character education. The study is grounded in modern educational challenges that require not only intellectual mastery but also the cultivation of complete character based on virtue. Using library research with a hermeneutic approach, this study critically interprets Aristotle’s key concepts, particularly eudaimonia, phronesis, and virtue ethics, and contextualizes them within current educational needs. Data were collected from relevant primary and secondary literature and analyzed through thematic and conceptual analysis to identify the relationship between Aristotelian ideas and character education. The findings show that the ideal human being, according to Aristotle, is one who achieves eudaimonia through the balanced development of moral and intellectual virtues, guided by phronesis as practical wisdom. Education is therefore understood as a gradual process of character formation through habituation, experience, role modeling, reflection, and ethical deliberation. This study proposes five strategies for Aristotelian character education: virtue habituation, experiential learning, educator role modeling, ethical deliberation, and context-based integral education. The study contributes a virtue-based educational model that emphasizes wisdom, responsibility, virtue, and the realization of the good life within society.
