The correctional facility SAE L’SIMA in Malang is confronted with two major challenges: the environmental impact of accumulated cow manure and the need to provide meaningful vocational training for inmates to support rehabilitation and reintegration. This community service program was designed to address both issues simultaneously through the introduction and application of biogas technology. The primary objective was to manage livestock waste as an alternative renewable energy source while equipping inmates with practical technical skills applicable beyond the correctional setting. The implementation method employed a participatory approach that involved several stages, including program socialization, site survey, biogas unit design, assembly of a small-scale digester, and subsequent monitoring and evaluation. The results demonstrated that the biogas unit was successfully constructed and operational; however, gas production levels remained below optimal standards. Key challenges identified included unstable temperature conditions, which negatively affected the fermentation process, and technical problems such as leakage in the piping system. These obstacles limited the overall effectiveness of gas generation. Despite these limitations, the project provided significant outcomes. First, it created a working model of sustainable energy generation within the correctional environment. Second, it delivered valuable vocational training for inmates, offering them both theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience in renewable energy technology. Furthermore, the program encouraged inmate participation, fostering teamwork, responsibility, and problem-solving skills that are essential for personal development. In conclusion, although technical barriers remain, this initiative succeeded in establishing the foundation for sustainable waste management and renewable energy application within a correctional facility. More importantly, it highlights the potential of biogas technology not only as an environmental solution but also as a rehabilitative vocational training tool. Continued monitoring, process optimization, and technical refinements are essential for achieving long-term success and scalability of this model in similar institutional contexts.

This study aims to describe and analyze the level of community compliance in paying Land and Building Tax (PBB) from a social and cultural perspective. A qualitative approach was used with a case study method in one of the villages in region X which has varying levels of compliance. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation, with key informants consisting of taxpayers, community leaders, and village officials. The results of the study indicate that community compliance with PBB payments is not solely influenced by economic and regulatory factors, but also by social values such as mutual cooperation, trust in local government, and cultural norms that live in the community. In addition, perceptions of tax fairness and the real benefits of paying taxes also influence community attitudes. These findings indicate the importance of a cultural approach in tax compliance improvement strategies, especially in areas with strong social characteristics. This study recommends the need for contextual and collaborative PBB socialization with local leaders to build tax awareness based on local values.

Community-based waste management is a strategic step toward achieving sustainable development in Gresik Regency, Indonesia. This policy aims to reduce waste volume, raise community awareness, and support the vision of a Green Regency. This study evaluates the implementation and effectiveness of community-based waste management policies using a qualitative case study approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis, then analyzed thematically to identify supporting and hindering factors influencing program success. The findings indicate that while progress has been made, significant challenges remain, including low levels of socialization, limited infrastructure, and weak inter-agency coordination. Community participation depends heavily on local leaders and facilitators, and the sustainability of institutions such as waste banks and management groups has yet to be evenly distributed. Adequate infrastructure, such as integrated waste processing facilities (TPS3R), is crucial and needs enhancement. Barriers like a lack of technical experts, cultural habits of indiscriminate waste disposal, and insufficient funding hinder the achievement of policy objectives. This evaluation underscores the necessity for increased education, institutional strengthening, and improved infrastructure to accelerate behavioral change and boost community participation. The results are expected to inform local government strategies for more effective implementation toward realizing a sustainable and environmentally friendly Gresik. An integrated and holistic approach is essential for optimizing waste management, creating a cleaner, healthier, and sustainable environment.

Horticultural commodities are an important component in the development of agriculture that continues to grow. In order to fulfill family nutrition, horticultural cultivation is one of the routine jobs of farmers in Kawangu Village, Pandawai District-East Sumba which is located in a coastal area with an altitude of 40 meters above sea level. The soil conditions that are more dominated by sand and rocks cause farmers in the location to experience obstacles in fulfilling organic fertilizers as an important input in the process of cultivating horticultural plants. This community service activity is expected to provide new knowledge about making solid organic fertilizers so that farmers can apply them to horticultural plants. Community service activities are carried out using the PRA (Participatory Rural Approach) method including observation, problem identification, counseling, making solid organic fertilizers, mentoring and evaluation. Through this activity, farmers have succeeded in making solid organic fertilizers using local materials available around the horticultural land and have been applied directly in the cultivation of horticultural plants. This community service has been successfully implemented independently by farmers by utilizing leaf litter and livestock manure around the horticultural land.

The government's efforts to reduce domestic violence (KDRT) in North Maluku Province have been carried out, among others, through the implementation of women’s empowerment programs. This study aims to examine whether the Gender Empowerment Index (IDG), Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) percapita, women's involvement in home-based industries (IR), and the intensity of domestic violence socialization programs have a significant effect on domestic violence rates across districts/cities in North Maluku. This research utilizes panel data regression analysis with data spanning the years 2016–2024. The data were processed using Microsoft Excel and STATA14 software. The findings indicate that the increased participation of women in the economic and political sectors has not yet fully translated into a reduction in domestic violence, largely due to persistent social norms and patriarchal values within households. This suggests that economic factors alone are not sufficient to explain the prevalence of domestic violence. However, women's involvement in home-based industries was found to significantly improve their economic independence and bargaining power within the household. Furthermore, consistent government-led domestic violence awareness campaigns have proven effective in enhancing protection mechanisms for women at risk. In conclusion, the study finds that the Gender Empowerment Index (IDG) and GRDP per capita do not have a statistically significant impact on domestic violence rates. Conversely, women's participation in home-based industries and domestic violence socialization efforts are significantly associated with reductions in domestic violence in North Maluku Province.

This research focuses on the phenomenon that occurs at Cipadas Coffee and Chill, a business in Sukajadi District, Pekanbaru City, which has been operating for about three years but has not prepared financial reports based on Micro, Small and Medium Entity Financial Accounting Standards (SAK EMKM). This research aims to identify and analyze the obstacles faced by partnership owners in preparing financial statements based on SAK EMKM. In this study, researchers used a qualitative approach with the case study method. The data used is primary data obtained from direct interviews with business owners. The results showed that Cipadas Coffee and Chill had not implemented SAK EMKM in compiling its financial reports due to several reasons, namely the owner's lack of knowledge about SAK EMKM and the procedures for preparing appropriate financial reports, lack of owner participation in socialization activities about SAK EMKM and owner orientation which was more inclined to the aspect of operating profit. Thus, the results of this study indicate the need for further education and socialization efforts to partnership owners regarding the importance of applying SAK EMKM in preparing financial reports. With adequate knowledge and understanding, it is hoped that Cipadas Coffee and Chill will be able to prepare financial reports in accordance with applicable accounting standards, thereby increasing transparency and financial accountability.

This study uses qualitative methods to analyze the law on menstrual leave and maternity leave rights in the practice of the workplace in Indonesia. This study aims to examine the implementation of Law Number 13 of 2003 concerning Manpower which provides menstrual leave and maternity leave rights for female workers, and examines the obstacles faced in its implementation in various companies. The results of the study indicate that although the legal framework has clearly regulated these rights, their implementation in the field is still not optimal. The main obstacles found include the lack of understanding and awareness of workers and employers, weak government supervision, and the existence of cultural stigma and discrimination related to menstruation and pregnancy. In addition, several companies still implement policies that are not in accordance with regulations, such as salary deductions or restrictions on leave rights. This study recommends increasing the socialization of regulations, strengthening supervision, and enforcing strict sanctions so that legal protection for menstrual leave and maternity leave rights can be realized fairly and effectively, thereby supporting social justice and the protection of female workers in Indonesia.
