Hypovolemic shock is a condition of reduced organ perfusion and oxygenation to tissues caused by acute loss of blood (hemorrhagic shock) or body fluids (non-hemorrhagic) which can be caused by various circumstances resulting in multiorgan failure. The mortality rate in injured patients who experience hypovolemic shock in clinics with a total care level reaches 6%. Relevant articles were searched through an electronic database, Google Scholar, using the keywords “Fluid Resuscitation in Patients with Hypovolemic Shock”. The treatment to prevent hypovolemic shock is fluid resuscitation. The classic symptoms of shock are, blood pressure decreases dramatically and is not stable even though the position is lying down, the patient suffers from severe tachycardia, oliguria, agitation or confusion, increased sympathetic work, hyperventilation, collapsed veins, release of stress hormones and large expansion to fill the volume of blood vessels using interstitial fluid, intercellular fluid and reduce urine production. Management of hypovolemic shock due to fixed bleeding begins with an assessment of airway, breathing, circulation, diability and exposure. Then after initial management, the response is evaluated, which can be rapid, temporary, and minimal or no response.

Disaster preparedness and response are critical components of community health resilience, yet the role of homecare nursing within this framework remains underexplored. This study aims to investigate and synthesize existing research on how homecare nurses contribute to disaster management, with a focus on preparedness and response phases. Employing a systematic literature review (SLR) approach based on the PRISMA 2020 methodology, 38 peer-reviewed articles from major databases were analyzed thematically. Key findings reveal that homecare nurses play significant roles in early warning communication, individualized evacuation planning, and continuity of care post-disaster, particularly for vulnerable populations such as the elderly and chronically ill. However, evidence also indicates substantial gaps in training, policy inclusion, and structural integration into national disaster response systems. Thematic synthesis identified three dominant themes: decentralized preparedness, home-based continuity care, and systemic underrecognition of homecare in emergency frameworks. The study concludes that homecare nursing is a strategic yet underutilized asset in disaster risk reduction and recovery efforts. Strengthening policy, competency frameworks, and formal inclusion of homecare in disaster governance are necessary to enhance community resilience globally.

The elderly are defined as individuals aged ≥65 years, increasing rapidly in the United States and are expected to reach 84 million by 2050. One of the main biological processes of systemic damage that contributes to the development of organ dysfunction in aging is immunosenescence (gradual decline in age-related protective immunity) and inflammation (chronic subclinical systemic inflammation). Cortisol, a steroid hormone, is synthesized from cholesterol. Cortisol release is under the control of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis. Corticotropin-releasing hormone (CRH) is released by the paraventricular nucleus (PVN) of the hypothalamus. Normal aging is associated with multiple endocrine changes, including those related to changes in the structure and function of the adrenal glands. A literature search was carried out using three main databases, namely ScienceDirect, Google Scholar and PubMed in journals covering the last ten years (2013-2023) using PRISMA guidelines. Based on the analysis of inclusion and exclusion criteria, there are 8 reference journals that match the research topic. The results of this study show that there is a dynamic regulation of cortisol in the elderly with an increase in cortisol levels in the elderly and these levels are higher in individuals with comorbidities. Based on the systematic review carried out in this study, it was concluded that there are changes in the dynamics of cortisol secretion in the elderly with a significant increase in secretion in certain groups of elderly which is related to the level of stress and comorbidities status.

Vergence movement is an important mechanism in eye coordination to maintain visual focus. The neural pathways controlling vergence involve complex interactions between various brain structures, such as the mesencephalic nucleus of the oculomotor nerve (CN III), the abducens nucleus (CN VI), the reticular pontine formation (PRF), and the visual and motor cortices. Disorders in this system can lead to convergence insufficiency, esotropia, exotropia, as well as diplopia which impacts the quality of binocular vision. This study aims to conduct a systematic review of the neural pathways that play a role in the vergence system. This research design is a study that uses the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. 5 articles were obtained using a method of secondary analysis of literature review through scientific database portals such as SINTA, Scopus and Google Scholar published in 2015-2025 both national and international articles. The results of the analysis show that vergence disorders are common in children and the elderly, with various causes ranging from benign factors to more serious neurological conditions. Studies show that activities in the parietal eye field (PEF), frontal eye field (FEF), superior colliculus (SC), and PRF have important roles in vergence coordination. In addition, vergence deficits were also found in Parkinson's patients, who showed prolonged latency and reduced vergence gain. In the context of technology, research on virtual reality (VR) shows that vergence errors often occur when users interact with virtual environments, leading to visual fatigue and incorrect depth perception. This study also highlights that neurotransmitters such as GABA, glutamate, and dopamine have a role in the modulation of neural signals that control vergence. A deeper understanding of the neural pathways of vergence is crucial in ophthalmology and neurology, especially in the diagnosis and therapy of binocular vision disorders. In addition, research on vergence also contributes to the development of visual technologies, such as VR and eye tracking systems, that are more adaptive to human physiological characteristics.
