This community service activity was carried out in Sladi Village with the goal of improving the digital literacy of village officials through the utilization of Artificial Intelligence (AI) plugins in Microsoft Word and Excel. The main issue faced by the village officials was their limited ability to use digital technology, which resulted in administrative tasks being carried out manually and inefficiently. Therefore, this digital literacy training aimed to enhance the skills of village officials in utilizing digital tools, especially AI, to support their administrative work. The method used in this activity was Participatory Action Research (PAR), which involved the stages of diagnosing, action planning, action taking, evaluating, and specifying learning. Evaluation of the activity was conducted using Likert scale questionnaires and open-ended questions to collect feedback from participants regarding their understanding and responses to the training provided. Data analysis was carried out using SPSS to calculate the mean, standard deviation, and qualitative findings from the open-ended questions. The evaluation results showed that the benefits of the activity (mean = 4.2) and the intention to implement AI (mean = 4.2) received the highest scores, indicating that the participants found the training highly beneficial and were motivated to apply AI in their daily tasks. On the other hand, the understanding of AI in Excel (mean = 3.7) and the assessment of the material (mean = 3.7) showed that further in-depth learning was needed to improve participants' comprehension and skills. Overall, the activity successfully improved the skills of village officials and raised collective awareness to transition towards a more efficient and adaptive digital village administration. This training is expected to positively contribute to the digital transformation in the village.
Waste remains one of the major environmental issues and a serious challenge in rural communities. The lack of discipline in waste disposal and limited knowledge of the impact of non-biodegradable waste have contributed to declining environmental quality and potential health problems. In Buniwangi Village, Pagelaran Subdistrict, Cianjur Regency, these conditions highlight the need for educational programs that provide practical understanding while fostering community awareness. This community service activity aimed to improve residents’ awareness of waste management through visual education media in the form of information boards displaying the decomposition time of various types of waste, ranging from organic to non-organic materials. The implementation method applied an asset-based community development (ABCD) approach, emphasizing active community participation. The program was carried out in three main stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The preparation stage included location surveys, needs mapping, and obtaining permission from village authorities. The implementation stage involved designing attractive educational boards, installing them at strategic points in the village, and conducting socialization to explain the information provided. The evaluation stage was carried out through direct observation and short interviews to assess the program’s impact on community knowledge and behavior. The results indicated an improvement in residents’ understanding of the differences between biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste. Villagers began to show awareness of reducing single-use plastics and started applying the 3R principles (reduce, reuse, recycle) in daily life. Overall, this program had a positive impact by fostering greater environmental concern and became an initial step toward building a sustainable waste management culture in Buniwangi Village.
The application of restorative justice by the police in cases of assault is based on Indonesian National Police Regulation Number 8 of 2021 concerning Handling Criminal Acts Based on Restorative Justice. This regulation provides a basis for investigators in resolving criminal cases by exploring the values of justice that exist in society. This study aims to analyze the application of restorative justice by the police in cases of assault and the inhibiting factors. The research method uses a normative juridical and empirical juridical approach, with secondary data through library research and primary data through field studies. The results indicate that the resolution of cases of assault complies with the provisions of the regulation, as both formal and material requirements are met, and a peace agreement exists between the perpetrator and victim. This process adopts local wisdom values by involving the perpetrator, victim, their respective families, and community leaders. However, obstacles to its implementation exist, including third-party intervention from the victim's family, the perpetrator's limited financial capacity, external interests, lack of community understanding, and communication barriers between the perpetrator and victim. Therefore, specific regulations regarding restorative justice are needed, incorporated into criminal procedural law provisions, for example through the Criminal Procedure Code (RKUHAP), to provide a strong legal basis and ensure legal certainty.
This community service activity was carried out with the primary objective of improving the financial literacy of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Pesawaran Regency. Financial literacy is considered a fundamental aspect in maintaining business continuity, as it is directly related to the ability of business actors to manage income, record transactions regularly, develop short-term and long-term financial plans, and utilize digital technology as a supporting tool. Low financial literacy is often an obstacle to the development of MSMEs, so interventions in the form of structured training and mentoring are essential. The activity method includes several stages, namely a pre-test to measure initial conditions, interactive delivery of training materials, direct practice using digital financial applications, and a post-test to disseminate learning outcomes. The evaluation results showed a significant increase in all measured indicators. Basic financial literacy increased by 10.16 points, financial recording skills increased by 14.47 points, the ability to prepare financial plans increased by 12.43 points, while financial digitalization experienced the highest performance with an increase of 18.12 points. These findings confirm that financial literacy training programs not only improve conceptual knowledge but also develop the practical skills essential for MSMEs to face the challenges of the modern economic era. This increased understanding and skills are expected to make Pesawaran MSMEs more independent, adaptable to digital technology developments, and more competitive.
The misuse of social media in Indonesia has become an increasingly concerning issue, particularly among teenagers and university students who lack awareness of the legal consequences of digital activities. Students at Universitas Teknologi Mataram (UTM), as active social media users, are vulnerable to committing violations, whether consciously or unconsciously, due to limited understanding of the Information and Electronic Transactions Law (UU ITE). To address this, digital law literacy is necessary to help students become more aware of existing legal boundaries and to encourage them to use social media as a positive tool for self-development and academic purposes. This community service program was designed to provide digital law education as a preventive measure against social media misuse among students. The methods employed included interactive socialization through lectures, discussions, case studies, and the distribution of legal literacy materials such as leaflets and infographics. The results showed an improvement in students’ understanding of the importance of ethics, legal compliance, and the risks of digital misconduct, including hate speech, hoax dissemination, and other online violations. The program also introduced the latest provisions of Law No. 1 of 2024 concerning the amendment of Law No. 11 of 2008 on Information and Electronic Transactions (UU ITE). Overall, this activity highlights the importance of continuous digital law education to encourage UTM students to be wiser, more critical, and responsible in their use of social media.
Dawet Ayu in Banjarnegara Regency is one of the traditional culinary micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) that until now is still able to survive and continue to grow. This typical beverage product not only has cultural value, but also has the potential to be a promising economic source for the local community. However, the reality on the ground shows that Dawet Jabung's business actors are still facing various serious obstacles. Limited understanding of business management, difficulties in calculating production costs in detail, and inability to determine the right selling price of products are the main obstacles. In addition, the low knowledge related to aspects of marketing, promotion, and business communication strategies makes it difficult for this business to expand the market. As a result, some business actors have actually experienced a significant decrease in sales from year to year. To answer these challenges, community service activities are carried out through two approaches, namely Action and Quality Awareness and Rapid Rural Appraisal (RRA). Action and Quality Awareness are carried out through extensive counseling, lectures, and mentoring aimed at increasing the knowledge of business managers. In this activity, business actors are guided to understand the importance of financial recording, cost management, and strategies to improve product quality. Meanwhile, the RRA method is used to identify real needs in the field, as well as prepare training, mentoring, and coaching programs that are relevant to business conditions. The results of the activity showed an increase in the ability of partners to classify production costs into the categories of raw materials, labor, overhead, marketing, and transportation. In addition, business actors are now more skilled in determining selling prices based on the realization of costs incurred, not just estimates. They also began to compile simple bookkeeping related to assets, debts, and capital, so that business management became more professional, transparent, and sustainable

The results showed a significant increase in the knowledge and awareness of the community, especially students, regarding cupping therapy as part of a safe and beneficial complementary approach. The conclusion of this activity emphasizes that education about complementary therapies, especially cupping, can be an effective strategy in expanding public health insights and encouraging the wise and responsible use of traditional therapies.
The development of digital technology provides significant opportunities for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to improve the quality of their product promotions. However, most MSMEs fostered by Sharia cooperatives still face obstacles in utilizing the latest technology, particularly artificial intelligence (AI), as an effective and efficient promotional tool. Given this situation, this community service activity was carried out with the aim of increasing the capacity of MSME members in utilizing AI technology to create more attractive product promotional content that aligns with digital marketing trends. The activity took place at Kedai Fatiya Sukodono in July 2025, coinciding with the BMT Insan Mandiri Sukodono Branch member gathering. The methods used included counseling on the importance of AI-based digital marketing, technical training on using AI applications for content design, and hands-on practice in creating promotional materials by participants. A total of 40 MSMEs from various sectors, such as culinary, fashion, and services, participated in this activity. The results showed an increase in participants' knowledge and skills in creating more creative, professional, and cost-effective promotional content. In addition, participants also gained a better understanding of digital-based promotional strategies that can increase market reach. Thus, this community service activity provides a real contribution to strengthening the competitiveness of MSMEs in the era of digital transformation, while also supporting the role of sharia cooperatives as partners in empowering the people's economy
The benefits of free health checks in the community are to prevent infectious diseases and further illnesses. Health checks are an effort to detect abnormalities in the body. Health checks should be carried out routinely with the aim of preventing and treating them as quickly as possible. Early detection of disease is a form of education and free health check activities so that the community has awareness to carry out regular health checks as part of promotive and preventive efforts. The main goal of this service is to detect possible diseases and reduce the risk of the disease or treat it more effectively. The activity's success highlights the importance of continued support from schools to create a healthy learning environment and to encourage healthy behaviors that can positively impact students' overall health and academic performance.
Public literacy regarding health rights remains low, especially in communities with limited access to legal and health-related information. This lack of understanding often leads to unfulfilled rights and unequal access to quality healthcare services, contributing to a cycle of inequity and poor health outcomes. In response to this issue, this community service program seeks to enhance public awareness of health rights through interdisciplinary education, combining the expertise of lecturers from legal and health sciences. The program’s activities include the development of educational modules designed to provide clear, accessible information about health rights, as well as interactive legal-health counseling sessions aimed at addressing specific concerns. Group discussions serve as a platform for individuals to engage with experts and peers, furthering their understanding of how to navigate healthcare systems and advocate for their rights. Additionally, printed materials are distributed to reinforce learning and serve as ongoing references for participants. The program targets communities with high needs for health literacy, focusing on empowering individuals to recognize their rights and take action to ensure their healthcare needs are met. It also encourages the collaboration of interdisciplinary academic staff, fostering a collective approach to community empowerment. By improving health literacy, the program aims to promote social equity and improve access to quality healthcare services for underserved populations. Through this initiative, participants are better equipped to make informed decisions regarding their health and advocate for fair treatment in the healthcare system.
Improving caregiver literacy regarding early childhood development is a strategic step to ensure optimal child growth and development. This educational activity was conducted at the Mawar Integrated Health Post (Posyandu Mawar), Tampingan Village, Boja District, involving 20 caregivers as active participants. The series of activities were systematically arranged, including a pre-test to determine the level of initial understanding, counseling through a lecture method accompanied by comprehensive material delivery, interactive discussions that allowed participants to exchange experiences, practice of child development stimulation as a form of direct skills, and a post-test to assess improvements in learning outcomes. Capacity-building training for housekeeping staff in hotels and restaurants is a crucial aspect of maintaining service quality and enhancing customer satisfaction. Competent housekeeping personnel not only ensure physical cleanliness but also directly impact the reputation, image, and competitiveness of businesses in the hospitality and restaurant sectors. This community service program aims to develop the capacity of housekeeping staff through focused training on mastering cleaning techniques, effective waste management, and the proper and safe use of cleaning tools and materials. The training methodology is conducted directly using a participatory approach, allowing participants to actively engage in practical simulations, discussions, and case studies related to cleaning procedures, operational standards, and waste handling. Evaluation is conducted using pre-test and post-test assessments to measure improvements in participants’ knowledge, skills, and understanding of good cleaning practices. Results demonstrate significant improvements in mastering cleaning techniques, understanding waste management, and the ability to use cleaning tools and materials correctly. Additionally, participants reported increased awareness of the importance of consistently maintaining cleanliness standards, which is expected to be applied in daily workplace activities. The contribution of this community service provides tangible benefits in enhancing human resource quality in the hotel and restaurant sectors while supporting the achievement of professional, hygienic, and environmentally friendly service standards. This training is expected to serve as a sustainable model for the continuous development of housekeeping staff competencies in the broader hospitality and tourism industry.
A cooperative is an economic institution founded on the principles of solidarity and mutual cooperation with the primary objective of improving the welfare of its members. However, low cooperative literacy, particularly in rural areas, remains a major obstacle in optimizing the role of cooperatives as community-based economic institutions. In response to this challenge, a Community Service Program (Kuliah Kerja Nyata/KKN) was conducted in Pulau Harapan Village to provide fundamental knowledge about cooperatives and foster residents’ interest in establishing a community-driven economic organization. The program was implemented in late July 2025 using a participatory approach through three stages: material preparation, interactive socialization with membership and savings-loan simulations, and activity evaluation. A total of 62 participants—including village officials, women farmer groups, MSME actors, and local traders—were actively involved in the program. The results of the activities indicated a significant improvement in participants’ understanding of cooperative benefits. This was reflected in their enthusiastic engagement during discussions as well as the emergence of community initiatives to establish a village cooperative. As a follow-up, plans for an official founding meeting and continuous mentoring have been scheduled. Through these efforts, the cooperative is expected to grow into a sustainable pillar of the local economy
The waste problem in Tamanan village is an issue that needs serious attention because of its impact on environmental pollution and public health. One of the main challenges is the low awareness of residents, especially elementary school children, in terms of good and correct waste management. A lot of waste is thrown carelessly without sorting, which results in a decrease in the quality of cleanliness and health of the village environment. This community service program aims to improve students' understanding and skills in waste management through a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach for 40 days. This program involves students of MI Nurur Rahman and SDN Tamanan 1 as the main subjects. The activities carried out include socialization about the importance of waste management, the delivery of material on types of waste, as well as the practice of sorting organic, inorganic, and B3 waste. In addition, the installation of educational media in the school environment and evaluation monitoring were also carried out. The results of the evaluation showed that 73% of students were able to answer the quiz questions correctly ≥70%, which indicates their good understanding of waste management. Some students also began to implement the habit of separating waste at home and inviting families to participate. Support from village officials and the existence of educational media are expected to strengthen the sustainability of this program. Participatory approaches have proven to be effective in raising environmental awareness and can be implemented sustainably through collaboration between schools, communities, and village governments.
This Community Partnership Program (PKM) was implemented to enhance the capacity of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Balang Baru Subdistrict, Tamalate District, Makassar City, particularly in financial management. The main problems faced by local MSME actors include low financial literacy and the absence of systematic and sustainable financial recording practices, which hinder optimal business performance evaluation. Through this program, a team from Universitas Negeri Makassar designed and carried out training and mentoring activities focused on the use of digital financial recording systems that are user-friendly for MSME actors. The activities included the preparation of training materials on basic financial management, hands-on practice in preparing simple financial statements, the use of digital bookkeeping applications, and an evaluation of their implementation. The training was conducted intensively over three days using interactive and practical methods. The results showed a significant improvement in participants’ understanding and skills in managing business finances, recording transactions in an organized manner, and preparing financial reports that could be used for basic business analysis. Moreover, the program encouraged MSME actors to become more independent in making data-driven business decisions. This initiative is expected to have a long-term impact in promoting professionalism among MSMEs and serve as a replicable model for community empowerment through improved financial literacy.
