This study aims to compare the effectiveness of the Deep Learning and Differentiated Instruction models in improving junior high school students’ mathematical problem-solving and reasoning abilities. The background of this research stems from the low level of mathematical literacy among Indonesian students, which demands innovative and reflective learning approaches. A quasi-experimental method was used with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The sample consisted of two eighth-grade classes at SMP Negeri Satu Atap 01 Ciseeng, each receiving different instructional treatments: one class was taught using the Deep Learning approach, and the other using the Differentiated Instruction approach. The instruments employed included mathematical problem-solving tests, observation sheets, and student perception questionnaires. The data analysis results indicated that the class taught with the Deep Learning model experienced a more significant improvement in mathematical reasoning ability compared to the class using Differentiated Instruction. These findings suggest that Deep Learning-based instruction is more effective in promoting students’ higher-order thinking skills. It encourages deeper engagement with mathematical concepts, fosters critical and analytical thinking, and allows students to construct knowledge through meaningful learning experiences. However, Differentiated Instruction remains relevant in providing learning comfort and addressing diverse student needs, making it beneficial in inclusive classroom settings. The theoretical and practical implications of this research highlight the importance of integrating both depth of thinking (Deep Learning) and flexibility in learning (Differentiation) within mathematics instruction. Such integration could offer a balanced learning environment that supports both cognitive development and emotional engagement, leading to more effective and equitable mathematics education. In conclusion, this study recommends educators and curriculum developers to consider incorporating Deep Learning strategies to enhance students’ mathematical reasoning while maintaining the adaptive and student-centered principles of Differentiated Instruction. Future research could explore hybrid learning models that combine the strengths of both approaches to maximize student outcomes in mathematics learning.

Air circulation and natural lighting are among the key aspects influencing the comfort of room usage, particularly in dormitory buildings inhabited by university students. This study aims to explore thermal comfort more deeply, focusing on air circulation and natural lighting within student dormitory rooms in the Riau Islands. A qualitative method was employed, collecting up-to-date data on the selected building. Building simulations using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and DIALux were conducted to analyze the speed of air circulation and the quality of natural lighting within the rooms. The results reveal that prior to evaluation, the dormitory rooms faced thermal issues related to poor air circulation and insufficient natural lighting. Wind speed was recorded at less than 2 m/s, and the incoming and outgoing airflow collided due to the presence of only one ventilation access. The evaluation using cross-ventilation through room openings showed a positive impact on indoor air circulation, increasing wind speeds to 2–4 m/s. The cross-ventilation concept also enhanced the discharge and exchange of indoor air, preventing air stagnation. In terms of natural lighting, the simulation showed that lighting intensity in several rooms was below the minimum standard of 250 lux, particularly in areas far from the window openings. After modifications to the window layout and the addition of secondary light-transmitting elements, the lighting level significantly improved to meet the recommended standard. These findings highlight the importance of incorporating both passive ventilation and natural lighting strategies in student dormitory designs. Improving these environmental aspects not only enhances thermal comfort but also supports the health, productivity, and well-being of the residents. This study contributes to the growing body of research on sustainable dormitory design and can be used as a reference for future architectural planning and policy improvements.

Community-based servant leadership development has emerged as a critical approach for Christian nonprofit organizations seeking to cultivate authentic leaders who embody Christ-centered values. This study explores the integration of theological foundations from Mark 10:45 with Robert K. Greenleaf's servant leadership theory to develop a comprehensive model for leader formation within Christian nonprofit contexts. Employing a qualitative methodology with a library research design, data were collected from scholarly literature and theological sources, then analyzed using Miles and Huberman's interactive model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The research reveals a significant alignment between the core message of Mark 10:45—“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve”—and the key principles of Greenleaf’s servant leadership, particularly the emphasis on selfless service, empathy, listening, and community building. Community plays a vital role as both a laboratory and an incubator for spiritual and leadership formation, where individuals can internalize leadership values through biblical teaching, mentorship, active religious practices, and shared life experiences. The study proposes a five-stage model: Foundation Building, Community Immersion, Skill Development, Practical Application, and Leadership Multiplication. This model serves as a strategic guide for Christian organizations to intentionally nurture servant leaders. Findings highlight improvements in character formation, organizational effectiveness, and the embodiment of servant leadership traits such as humility, sacrifice, and empathy. The study concludes with practical recommendations for implementation, including structured mentoring systems, the formation of communities of practice, and ongoing evaluation mechanisms. Ultimately, this integrated model supports the mission of Christian nonprofits by shaping leaders who advance both spiritual and social transformation.

Cases of child sexual abuse in Indonesia continue to increase each year. In the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Yogyakarta City ranks among the areas with the highest incidence. A preliminary study conducted at SD Negeri Dalem revealed that students had a low level of understanding about sexual abuse, with some having experienced it firsthand. One promising and age-appropriate intervention is the use of animated video media. To determine the effect of animation-based sex education on knowledge and self-awareness in preventing sexual harassment among students at SD Negeri Dalem Yogyakarta in 2025. This study employed a quantitative method with a pre-experimental one-group pre-test post-test design. A sample of 50 students from grades 3 to 6 was selected using proportionate stratified random sampling. The research instruments consisted of questionnaires measuring knowledge and self-awareness. Data were analyzed using univariate analysis and bivariate analysis with the Wilcoxon signed-rank test. The Wilcoxon test showed a significant effect on the improvement of knowledge (p-value = 0.012), indicating that the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. However, there was no significant effect on self-awareness (p-value = 0.672), meaning the null hypothesis was accepted and the alternative hypothesis was rejected. The number of students in the “good” knowledge category increased from 10 students (20.0%) to 22 students (44.0%) after the intervention, while those in the “good” self-awareness category increased from 30 students (60.0%) to 34 students (68.0%). Animated video education is effective in increasing students' knowledge about the prevention of sexual harassment; however, it is not yet sufficient to significantly improve self-awareness. This indicates that enhancing self-awareness requires more in-depth, repeated, and interactive educational methods.

This study aims to analyze the performance and conduct reverse engineering of the Francis Turbine runner at the Tanggari 1 Hydroelectric Power Plant (PLTA Tanggari 1) through 3D scanning and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulation. The main objective is to evaluate the turbine's efficiency and identify areas for improvement in the runner geometry. Data from the 3D scan are used to reconstruct a CAD model, which is then numerically tested to predict hydraulic performance. CFD simulations are carried out under various guide vane openings and head variations. The simulation results show a maximum efficiency of 93% at a head of 122.4 meters with a guide vane opening angle of 26° and a flow rate of 8.5 m³/s. The resulting performance curve and hill chart indicate the optimal operating point or Best Efficiency Point (BEP), which serves as a critical reference for turbine operation settings. Flow phenomena such as separation and vortex formation were detected under off-BEP operating conditions, potentially causing pressure fluctuations and vibrations. As a technical recommendation, it is advised to operate the turbine close to the BEP to minimize vibrations and energy losses. Furthermore, the runner geometry obtained from reverse engineering can serve as a basis for component refabrication and the development of new runner designs that are more adaptive to varying load conditions.

Physiological quality deterioration during storage is a major factor contributing to the reduced germination capacity of rice seeds. Revitalization treatments are therefore essential to restore seed viability and promote optimal seedling development. One promising approach involves the application of plant growth regulators (PGRs) from the polyamine group, such as putrescine. This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of varying concentrations and soaking durations of putrescine in improving the viability of deteriorated rice seeds. The experiment was conducted using a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with two factors: putrescine concentrations (0 ppm/ soaking in distilled water only, putrescine 15 ppm, putrescine 20 ppm, and putrescine 25 ppm) and soaking durations (3, 6, and 9 hours). The parameters evaluated included germination percentage and germination rate. Results indicated that treatment with 20 ppm putrescine combined with a 6-hour soaking period yielded the most significant improvement in seed viability. These findings suggest that putrescine treatment can effectively restore the physiological quality of rice seeds affected by storage-induced deterioration.
