Corruption in Indonesia is a serious and systemic issue. One of the legal approaches used to address this problem is the imposition of criminal fines. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of fines imposed on corruption offenders. The research employs a normative approach with a juridical-qualitative method, based on literature studies of relevant laws and court decisions. The findings indicate that although criminal fines are regulated under Law No. 31 of 1999 in conjunction with Law No. 20 of 2001, their implementation has not been effective. Fines can still be replaced with substitute imprisonment of up to eight months under the Indonesian Penal Code (KUHP), which is often preferred by convicted individuals. In addition, there is no clear system regarding the proportional amount of fines, deadlines for payment, or enforcement mechanisms. The lack of strict regulations concerning remission also weakens the deterrent effect. This study concludes that the regulation and enforcement of criminal fines in corruption cases have not yet provided optimal deterrence and still leave many legal loopholes that need to be addressed.

This study aims to analyze the decisions of judges at the First Instance Court and the Cassation Level related to the crime of forgery of customs documents in Decision Number 185/PID.SUS/2016/PN.JAK.UTR and Decision Number 294 K/PID.SUS/2018. This study uses the Normative Juridical Legal Research Method by utilizing laws and regulations and judges' decisions and using the theory of criminal acts and the theory of punishment. The formulation of the problem in this study is, how is the consideration of the Panel of Judges at the First Instance Court so that the defendant is released from all charges by the Public Prosecutor, and how are the arguments of the Public Prosecutor's cassation memorandum and the legal considerations of the Panel of Judges at the Cassation level so that they impose a criminal sentence on the defendant. This study found that, the legal considerations of the Panel of Judges in Decision Number 185/PID.SUS/2016/PN.JAK.UTR which acquitted the Defendant from all charges of the Public Prosecutor because according to the Panel of Judges' considerations, all the tools and evidence revealed in the trial were in accordance with the provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code, both Article 184 of the Criminal Procedure Code and the conviction of the judge referred to in the provisions of Article 183 of the Criminal Procedure Code, and according to the theories of criminal acts and theories of punishment that the Defendant was not legally and convincingly proven to have committed the crime of falsifying customs documents. The arguments of the Public Prosecutor's cassation memorandum emphasize that Judex Facti applied the law incorrectly so that the Legal Considerations of the Panel of Judges of the Supreme Court in the Cassation Decision Number: 294 K/PID.SUS/2018 imposed a criminal sentence on the defendant because the Panel of Judges of the first instance (Judex Facti) applied the law incorrectly, therefore the Defendant was proven legally and convincingly guilty of jointly committing the crime of falsifying Customs documents as stipulated in Article 103 letter a of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 10 of 1995 concerning customs, as amended by Law Number 17 of 2006 in conjunction with Article 55 Paragraph (1) KE-1 of the Criminal Code.

This study uses a qualitative method with a normative legal approach that aims to analyze legal protection for victims of Information and Electronic Transactions (ITE) crimes, especially in cases of the distribution of digital pornographic content. The rampant distribution of pornographic content through digital platforms is a serious threat to the privacy rights and dignity of victims, especially women and children. In the context of law in Indonesia, protection for victims has been regulated in several laws and regulations such as Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning Amendments to the ITE Law and the Criminal Code (KUHP). However, the implementation of this protection still faces various obstacles, includeing weak law enforcement, limited understanding of victims’ rights, and the suboptimal role of witness and victim protection institutions. Through literature studies and analysis of court decisions, this study found that legal protection is still reactive and has not been optimal in preventing and restoring victims’ losses as a whole. Therefore, a more responsive policy reformulation and strengthening of digital literacy are needed as strategic preventive measures.

Restoration for victims of criminal acts is an essential aspect of the judicial system that is often overlooked. Law enforcement efforts tend to focus on perpetrators, while victims' rights, including physical, psychological, and financial recovery, remain neglected. The case of Een's murder and arson serves as an example where restitution and compensation rights were not clearly accommodated in legal proceedings. This article aims to examine the legal procedures available to victims or their families in obtaining restoration rights. The discussion includes criminal law aspects such as restitution and compensation based on Law No. 13 of 2006 jo. Law No. 31 of 2014 on Witness and Victim Protection, as well as the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP). Additionally, this article highlights the civil law route through lawsuits based on Article 1365 of the Civil Code regarding unlawful acts (KUHAPER). With a normative juridical approach and internship experience at the Legal Consultation and Assistance Clinic of Trunojoyo Madura University, this article is expected to contribute to strengthening victims' rights within the Indonesian legal system through the available legal avenues, both criminal and civil.

This study aims to explore consumer perceptions regarding transaction security on digital marketplaces and to evaluate the impact of community-based educational interventions. A descriptive qualitative method was employed, involving in-depth interviews with ten active marketplace users in Tasikmalaya City. The findings revealed that consumers’ sense of security is shaped by personal experience, understanding of platform security features, and digital literacy. Prior to the intervention, most participants expressed high concern over data breaches and fraud, often opting for cash-on-delivery (COD) as a form of protection. Following a series of community education sessions—comprised of discussions and safe transaction simulations—significant changes were observed in consumer attitudes and behavior. Participants became more aware of the importance of verifying sellers, reading reviews, and using secure payment methods. The study concludes that localized community education effectively enhances awareness and trust among consumers, especially in areas where digital literacy remains limited.

The imposition of criminal penalties must be based on careful legal consideration and in accordance with the principle of Negatief Wettelijk, which is enshrined in the Indonesian Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP). This principle requires that judges may only impose criminal penalties if there are at least two valid pieces of evidence that can fully explain the occurrence of the criminal act and the involvement of the defendant. In the case of the murder of Wayan Mirna Salihin, Jesica Kumala Wongso was designated as a suspect and sentenced by the prosecutor and judge. However, this designation sparked controversy because it did not meet the requirement of two valid pieces of evidence as stipulated in the Criminal Procedure Code. The decision against Jesica was deemed not to be based on complete and objective evidence, and therefore could be considered legally flawed when viewed from the principle of Negatief Wettelijk. Therefore, it is important for the criminal justice system to uphold the principles of legality and caution when rendering decisions.

Training in creating animated characters using the Scratch application serves as an introduction to block-based programming fundamentals that are simple, easy to operate, interactive, and engaging. This training offers promising competency outcomes, as students can further develop their skills through animated stories, games, or presentations. Since 2018, the Ministry of Education and Culture has promoted the integration of informatics education into the 2013 curriculum, including computational thinking skills, which are essential for both current and future generations. The partner for this community service training activity is the students of MTs Pembangunan Nurul Islam, located in Sarimulya, Setu, South Tangerang. This initiative is a tangible step toward implementing informatics learning through the introduction of block-based programming fundamentals. The training involved stages of introduction, instruction, and guidance in using the application. Based on observations and discussions with the partner school, several issues were identified in learning Information and Communication Technology (ICT). One of the causes is students’ lack of awareness of the importance of learning programming fundamentals, coupled with the stigma that programming is difficult, uninteresting, and boring. To address both technical and management issues, the proposed solutions in this community service program include: first, facilitating and providing guidance on the use of the Scratch application for MTs students, with the hope that they will understand basic programming without fear or difficulty. Second, offering engaging, interactive, simple, and easy-to-understand lessons on basic programming using Scratch, by providing example projects such as creating animated characters. The training program was implemented smoothly, and all participating students enthusiastically followed each stage of the training. Their motivation was encouraged to become familiar with programming, increasing their interest, understanding, and confidence in basic programming skills. The ultimate goal is to foster students' interest, knowledge, and skills while boosting their self-confidence in ICT learning, particularly in basic programming.

Code-switching and code-mixing are linguistic phenomena that reflect the cultural and linguistic diversity of Indonesian society, particularly within literary works. This study aims to analyze how elements of the Javanese language are employed through these phenomena in the novel Soedirman dan Alfiyah by E. Rokajat Asura. Using a literature review method, the study examines relevant theories and previous research on the use of regional languages, specifically Javanese, in literature. The findings reveal that both code-switching and code-mixing enrich character expression, serve as markers of cultural identity, convey emotional depth, and enhance the social messages embedded in the narrative. Visual markers such as italicized text are utilized to distinguish linguistic shifts, although inconsistencies in their application are noted. This research highlights the importance of preserving regional languages in literary works and emphasizes the need for consistent typographical presentation to improve readability and linguistic awareness among readers.

Crimes committed by drunk drivers that cause death are serious legal problems that have a broad impact on public safety. This study analyzes the form of criminal liability for such acts within the framework of Indonesian criminal law, by examining the application of the concepts of dolus eventualis and culpa. Although statutory provisions such as Articles 310 and 311 of the Traffic and Transportation Law and Article 359 of the Criminal Code have regulated criminal sanctions, implementation in the field is often weak and disproportionate. The legal approach tends to consider the act as negligence, whereas there is an element of conditional intent that must be considered. This study emphasizes the need for criminal law reform, strengthening law enforcement institutions, and public education to create a deterrent effect and protect people's right to life. The concept of dolus eventualis is an important alternative to expand criminal liability fairly and contextually.

This study aims to examine violations of the Indonesian Advertising Code of Ethics (EPI) in television advertisements and explore the root causes of these violations. A qualitative approach was used, with data collection techniques including literature review, advertisement analysis, and exploration of digital sources such as YouTube, blogs, and online platforms. The study analyzes two advertisements in depth: SoKlin Sakura x Strawberry and Torabika Cappuccino coffee. The findings show that the SoKlin advertisement violates Article 1.26 of the Indonesian Advertising Code of Ethics (EPI) by using an unethical camera angle that highlights women's bodies, thereby containing subtle elements of sexual exploitation. Meanwhile, the Torabika advertisement was found to violate Article 1.2.2 of the EPI by making the superlative claim of being “number one in the world” without providing verifiable evidence. This violation is considered misleading to consumers and detrimental to the credibility of the advertisement. This study emphasizes the importance of adhering to advertising ethics codes, particularly in maintaining honesty, relevance, and social responsibility in every message communicated to the public.

This study aims to analyze the operational conditions of the raw material warehouse at PT Nutrition And Special Foods Division and evaluate the potential implementation of an Internet of things (IoT)-based warehouse management system (WMS) to improve the efficiency and accuracy of warehouse management. A descriptive qualitative approach was used, including field observations and interviews with several operators and warehouse staff. The findings indicate that the currently used manual system causes various obstacles, such as input errors, slow picking processes, and limited stock tracking capabilities. A simulation of WMS implementation using RFID and barcode technology showed significant improvements, including approximately 40% increase in picking  efficiency, around 90% improvement in stock recording accuracy, and a reduction of input errors by up to 85%. The application of this technology also supports real-time tracking using FIFO/FEFO methods and enhances visibility and decision-making in logistics operations. Thus, the integration of RFID, barcode, and QR code in WMS proves effective in transforming warehouse management into a faster, more accurate, and responsive system aligned with supply chain dynamics.

This study explores the integration of the Grounded Theory (GT) approach, developed by Anselm Strauss and Barney Glaser, into thematic hadith studies (maudhū‘ī) as a methodological alternative for extracting meaning and constructing theory from hadith texts. This approach is considered capable of producing more contextual, relevant, and applicable understandings of contemporary social issues such as justice, leadership, and environmental ethics. By employing GT’s systematic stages open coding, axial coding, and selective coding hadith research goes beyond mere thematic classification and evolves into a theorization process directly rooted in hadith data. While GT offers advantages in flexibility and contextual depth, its application also faces epistemological and technical challenges, particularly in terms of data validity, interpretive bias, and the integration of modern qualitative methods with the principles of ulūm al-ḥadīth. Therefore, an interdisciplinary approach is necessary, involving collaboration between hadith scholars and social researchers, alongside strong mastery of qualitative methodology. In conclusion, GT is not a replacement for classical methods, but a complementary tool that broadens the horizons of hadith studies. By combining the strengths of the Islamic scholarly tradition and contemporary methodologies, this approach has the potential to enrich Islamic epistemology and to present hadith as a living, dynamic, and relevant source of values for modern society.
