In the progress of the times, the use of the Indonesian language has gradually changed, there are several words in the Indonesian language whose reading has been changed, which has had a significant impact on the position of the Indonesian language as a national language and the nation's cultural identity. In this millennial era, many generations have grown up in an environment filled with technology which has made big changes in terms of communicating formally and informally. The influence of globalization and the popularity of English has also caused a shift communication preferences, where Indonesian may be less attractive to the Millennial Generation. Through literature review, data search was carried out to identify the language styles of the millennial generation and analyze it to find out the impact of using this language style. Search results shows the impact of the millennial generation's language style on the integrity of the Indonesian language in this era of globalization.

The background of this research was that there were several problems regarding students' English achievement and their higher order thinking skills. Theory said that higher order thinking skills can be a tool that can help improve student learning achievement. Researchers found there was a difference between theory and facts in the field. Teachers have implemented HOTS in the learning process, but English scores are still low. Therefore, researchers want to know the relationship between students' HOTS and their English achievement. The design of this research is correlational research. Researchers used test instrument to collect students' HOTS scores, and documentation was used to collect students' English scores in their second semester report cards. The population of this research was all seventh grade students, which consist two classes. The sample of this research was class VII A, totaling 24 students. The sampling for this research was cluster sampling. Researchers used Bivariate Pearson Correlation to determine the correlation between the two variables. The results of this research showed that the correlation coefficient between the two variables is 0.471. Then the magnitude of the correlation is sufficient, around 0.40-0.60. Thus, there is a positive correlation between students' higher order thinking skills (HOTS) and their English achievement in the seventh grade of SMPN 3 Koto Besar.

Proficiency in English is vital for participation in the global knowledge economy, providing access to information, education, and technological advancements. Recognizing this, SMP Darul Ulum 1 Peterongan Jombang collaborated with Unipdu Jombang to organize an English training program for its teachers and staff. This program aimed to enhance participants' English competency to deliver effective instruction and foster a conducive learning environment. The month-long program employed interactive methodologies covering grammar, vocabulary, phonetics, teaching methodology, and technology integration. Results show significant improvement in participants' English skills, with implications for teaching effectiveness and student outcomes. The success of this program elevates the school's reputation and competitiveness in providing quality education. Ongoing professional development and a supportive English environment are recommended for sustained improvement.

Jurnal Pelayanan Hubungan Masyarakat 2024 International Forum of Researchers and Lecturers

The study introduces the use of hand puppets as a tool to strengthen English vocabulary acquisition among third-grade students at MI Fathul Jannah, Palangka Raya. This Student Creativity Program (PKM) employs a descriptive qualitative methodology involving fifteen students as participants. During instruction, the team uses hand puppets to introduce new vocabulary covering family members, followed by interactive exercises to assess vocabulary retention and application. The results of these activities indicate that the use of hand puppets not only enhances vocabulary retention but also boosts students' confidence in using English. Students show enthusiasm and active participation during learning activities, indicating that hand puppets effectively create a more engaging and interactive learning environment. These findings underscore the significant potential of hand puppets as aids in teaching English vocabulary to elementary school students.

This study aimed to analyze the assumption of similarities in English language through some Asian player of the game and language differences from the game chat. In order to analyze both the assumption of similarities in English language and language differences, this study used a descriptive qualitative method, taking multiple steps of playing and communicating together with some Asian player, taking several screenshots of the game chat. According to Genshin Impact’s producer interview video, Asian Genshin Impact player had different expressions in the conversation such as vocabulary, utterance and even had different cultural background from where they live. Finally, because this is related to the world of fantasy games, the researcher invites readers to include participation to increase the effectiveness of communication between fellow players to support the development of English in the world and in anticipation of persuade young generations and general people to learn more their background culture.

The role of prosody and intonation in English phonology has significant implications for speech perception and production. These phonological processes influence how words are understood and articulated in English. Recent studies have shown that prosody and intonation play a crucial role in verbal communication. This article aims to investigate the importance of prosody and intonation in understanding and producing speech in English language learning intonation refers to the melodic pattern in speech that can change the meaning of a sentence. It is often used to convey emotions or to emphasize a message. On the other hand, prosody encompasses the patterns of pitch, stress, and duration in speech that impact word articulation and comprehension. Both work together to create accurate articulation and understanding of words in English this linguistic study underscores the importance of prosody and intonation in English language learning and elucidates how these two aspects influence speech perception and production. With a deep understanding of prosody and intonation, learners can enhance their ability to communicate in English more effectively and accurately.

This community service activity aims to increase the understanding of class VIII students at MTs Hidayatul Insan, Palangka Raya, regarding the basic material of Morphology in teaching English as a Foreign Language (ELT) through song media. The mentoring method involves presenting basic Morphology material through song lyrics that are relevant to the concept being taught. The results of the service showed a significant increase in students' understanding of the material, as well as a positive response to the use of songs as a learning medium. Mastering writing skill is difficult for new learner of English. This paper focuses on analyzing the use of TTW (think talk write) strategy in enhancing students’ achievement in writing a greeting dialogue. The research was conducted in MTs Nurul Al-Qur'an Jombang. It involved first grade students that consist of 40 students. Action research design was used in conducting this research. The results showed that the use of TTW strategy in teaching writing skill can enhance students achievement in writing skill. The final score of students showed that they got a higher score in writing after applying this theory. Furthermore, based on the questionnaires results show that by using this theory in teaching writing students can enjoy and understand the material well. Junior High School students find it difficult to master the ability to write English. This paper focuses on analyzing the use of TTW strategy in improving students ability to write a dialogue about greeting. This study was conducted at MTs Nurul Al-Qur'an Jombang and involved 40 first graders. Class action research is the design used in this research. The results of this research indicate that the use of TTW strategy in teaching menuis can improve students ' ability to write. Furthermore, based on the results of the questionnaire showed that the use of this theory in learning to write can help students to enjoy the learning process and understand the material well.

This study explores the significance of suprasegmental features in English phonology, focusing on prosodic hierarchy and intonation patterns. The analysis delves into how these features play a crucial role in structuring spoken language, particularly in conveying nuances, emotions, and pragmatic information. The study highlights the importance of understanding suprasegmental features in enhancing speaking proficiency in English and their relevance to English language curriculum development. Further research opportunities in English phonology, such as investigating other suprasegmental features and adopting an interdisciplinary approach, are suggested to deepen the understanding of English phonological structures and improve the quality of teaching speaking skills in English. This study emphasizes the valuable insights gained from a deeper understanding of the role of suprasegmental features in English phonology for teaching, research, and overall understanding of oral language

Youtube is one of the getting to know media that may be incorporated in getting to know publications which can be taken into consideration hard with the aid of using students.. The purpose of this research is to be able to find out the benefits that can be taken from youtube for English learning media in English courses. This research is a qualitative research in which the author uses observation, question and answer (interview) and questionnaire.  The results of the study show that videos on Youtube can be used as one of the learning media.

The phenomenon of variations in slogan language in advertisements in Malacca district offline uses various languages ​​consisting of Latin, Tetum, Dawan and English. The seller's aims and objectives are conveyed briefly and concisely through the slogan and advertisement. The phenomenon of variations in advertising language will have an impact on people's understanding of offline site advertisements. The aim of this research is to determine the various variations of language used by sellers in promoting their merchandise. The method used in this research is qualitative description. The results of this study show that the phenomenon of using advertising language in Malacca district, especially on shopping sites, is increasingly diverse and gives rise to the phenomenon of language variations. However, in reality, not all people understand the forms of language variation and the function of language variation. In this research, variations in advertising language were identified, for example English, slang or social languages. The functions of language variations identified are informative function, directive function and expressive function. The advertising language used by online shopping sites should be able to provide clear information and be easily understood by the public so that goals can be achieved.

This research aims to improve English learning outcomes through the application of the Crossword puzzle strategy. Type of classroom action research (CAR). The sequence of research activities includes: (1) planning, (2) Implementation, (3) observation, (4) documentation. This classroom action research was conducted at SMP N 5 KENDARI. of class VIII, which consisted of 35 students, they were 16 male and 19 female students. And in collecting data, the researcher used observation technique, tests measuring learning outcomes. The result showed that the use of the crossword puzzle strategy in English learning can improve student learning outcomes starting to 44% in cycle 1, then the learning outcomes increased in cycle II by 96%.

In the 21st century, the acquisition of English as a second language is very important for a group of children in Walal Village who are currently studying at elementary school. This is useful for supporting 6 skills of 21st century education, namely critical thinking, communication, creativity, collaboration, culture and connectivity. Walal Village is one of the model villages in Sorong Regency which has a high enthusiasm for creating the latest breakthroughs, especially in the field of education. Walal Village is located in Salawati District which must be traveled 35 kilometers from Sorong City. Thus, access to information related to education is very limited for children in Walal Village. In this case, students of the Community Service Lecture (KPM) at the Muhammadiyah Sorong Education University provided one month of English literacy assistance for the children of Kampung Walal community. The aim of this assistance is an effort to empower Human Resources (HR) through a community empowerment program for English language learning guidance.  This English literacy assistance is very important to provide to Walal Village children who are already aware of the importance of English around them. This program is also related to the description of the Walal Village Government's vision and mission in developing human resources in terms of quality education. English literacy assistance includes acquiring English, processing language in the form of remembering and memorizing words or terms, and understanding meanings that can be applied to listening, reading, speaking and writing skill activities. The efforts of this English literacy assistance are to change the mindset of the children of Walal Village that learning English is fun, regardless of age, and affordable. In fact, through mentoring, children in Walal Village experience changes in knowledge and attitudes during the English literacy process.

The purpose of this study was to find phonological errors that students make when they pronounce vowel diphthongs. Researchers also asked what type of vocal diphthong sound students most often said in tenth grade. Grade X students of the 2021/2022 school year are the subjects of this study. This study used a quantitative descriptive approach. Researchers randomly selected 60 samples from 395 individuals. The tool used is the English Vowel Diphthong word pronunciation test, which includes eight types of English vowel diphthongs with two focus words for each type. Furthermore, a voice recorder is employed to capture the students' pronunciation. Findings showed that students made 339 word mistakes. The pronunciation of X graders shows the most frequent types of vowel diphthong errors: Diphhongs [ɔʊ] with the focus word "although" experience 72% of total errors, Diphhongs [ʊə] with the focus word "during" experience 65% of total errors, and Diphhongs [aɪ] with the focus word "sacrifice" experience 61% of total errors.

Maritime English as the variety of ESP is taught for the students in the maritime field. In this study mainly discuss about the understanding of the Indonesian maritime students in using maritime English in the daily report in form in cadet record book. The students are expected to understand in using maritime English in the daily report the appropriate approach. The communicative approach has been selected as the best approaches since it involved the student’s activities in practice and drills the tasks in using maritime English in daily report. In this case, the teachers are expected to be aware with the student’s background of knowledge. The teachers are also expected to have communicative approach in order to discover the best implementation of the communication aims.

The implementataion of this service activity aims to determine the difficulties of Papua childrens in orphanages in mastering vocabulary and grammar in understanding English texts. Papuan children experience a lack of vocabulary mastery, lack of self confidence, fear of making mistakes, so it is hoped that with this training participants can improve their ability to use English vocabulary and grammar properly and correctly so that there will be an increase in participants’ skills in master English vocabulary. This service was carried out at the Kartini orphanage in Merauke in February 2024. The duration was 2 times a week namely Thursday and Friday for 3 months through the application of theory and practice with 20 native Papuan children. This service is carried out in the in the form of workshops, training, and mentoring, while the methods used are: (1) providing a handbook to be used during the activity which contains the materials that will be studied during the activity; (2) provide basic material; (3) provide training on vocabulary and grammar to measure the participants’ mastery of vocabulary and grammar. The expected results of this service are: (1) growing interest in indigenous Papuan children learning grammar and vocabulary in the language; (2) increasing knowledge of English vocabulary aand grammar of native Papuan children; (3) increasing English readings skills.

This research aims to describe the types of code switching that occur in English language learning at MA Al Fatah Kota Mulya in four meetings. This type of research is descriptive-qualitative research. The subjects of this research were the eleventh-grade students. The object of this research is a speech on the use of code switching, which includes the types of code switching in English language learning at MA Al Fatah Kota Mulya. The results of the research show that there are 8 types of code switching in English language learning at MA Al Fatah Kota Mulya. Furthermore, all data is divided into 3 types of code switching: (1) intra-sentential switching occurred in 1 data (12,5%), (2) inter-sentential switching occurred in 3 data (37,5%), and (3) tag switching occurred in 4 data (50%). So, the most dominant type of code switching is tag switching.

especially among young people. However, the use of social media can also cause various problems, including the use of unethical language. This research discusses the influence of poor Indonesian language etiquette on social media on individuals. In this research, researchers used descriptive methods to identify language errors that occur on social media, especially on Instagram. The research results show that the use of Indonesian on social media often experiences errors in spelling, diction and grammatical structure. These mistakes can lead to misunderstandings and ineffective use of language. Apart from that, this research also found that the use of Indonesian on social media often experiences variations in Indonesian with English, slang and local regional languages. The conclusion of this research shows that the unethical use of Indonesian on social media can have a negative impact on individuals. Therefore, more awareness and attention is needed in using Indonesian on social media in order to communicate effectively and not cause misunderstandings.
