City branding is a strategic approach to enhancing a city's competitiveness by leveraging unique local characteristics to create a strong and distinctive identity. This study examines the role of semanggi—a traditional Surabaya dish—as a cultural icon in strengthening the city's branding. Although semanggi carries deep symbolic meaning and historical significance for Surabaya’s residents, its potential as a city branding asset remains underutilized in formal tourism and marketing programs. Adopting a qualitative exploratory case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis involving local stakeholders, small and medium-sized culinary enterprises, cultural figures, and municipal representatives. Thematic analysis identified five key dimensions of semanggi’s role in city branding: (1) visual representation in urban spaces and promotional media; (2) cultural narratives and heritage preservation; (3) community pride and participation; (4) local economic resilience; and (5) strategic promotion by municipal authorities. The findings suggest that integrating semanggi into Surabaya’s branding strategy can reinforce cultural identity, differentiate the city in competitive tourism markets, and promote sustainable local entrepreneurship. The study contributes to the theoretical discourse on culinary-based place branding and offers practical recommendations for incorporating local wisdom into destination marketing. Limitations include the single-case scope and qualitative focus, pointing to opportunities for comparative and mixed-method research in the future.

This research aims to normatively analyze the legal basis, rationality, and implications of the presidential threshold on the multi-party system and the principle of electoral justice in Indonesia, with a focus on Constitutional Court Decision Number 14/PUU-XI/2013. Thru a normative legal approach, this research examines the provisions of Article 222 of Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning General Elections and the Constitutional Court's constitutional arguments in maintaining the presidential nomination threshold. The analysis results show that although formally the presidential threshold is an open and legitimate legal policy, it substantially creates political inequality and limits the participation of small parties in the multi-party system. The Constitutional Court's decision is considered not fully reflective of the principles of electoral justice and popular sovereignty, as it prioritizes government stability over political equality. Therefore, it is necessary to reformulate the presidential candidacy threshold policy to make it more proportional, inclusive, and aligned with the principles of constitutional democracy. This reform is expected to strengthen the legitimacy of Indonesia's presidential system without neglecting the fundamental values of justice and political representation of the people.

Koperatives are a form of people-based economic organization that play a strategic role in improving community welfare and strengthening the national economy. However, many cooperatives still face organizational and managerial challenges that limit their economic performance. This study aims to analyze the relationship between cooperative organizational structures, governance mechanisms, and the economic performance of cooperatives in the context of modern economic transformation. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed to gain an in-depth understanding of organizational practices within cooperatives. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis involving cooperative managers, members, and supervisors selected purposively. The findings indicate that cooperatives with clear organizational structures, professional management, transparent governance, and active member participation tend to demonstrate better economic performance and sustainability. The 21st century is marked by a profound transformation in digital communication. Social media has become a new public space, enabling people to interact, disseminate information, and shape public opinion rapidly and massively. This article analyzes the role of social media in shaping public opinion and its influence on the dynamics of government policy in Indonesia. Through a literature review and case analysis of policies influenced by viral issues on social media, this study finds that social media increases citizen participation and accelerates government responses to public issues. However, the pattern of 'viral-based policy' also carries risks, such as reactive policies, a lack of evidence-based policies, and inequality in representation. To manage this phenomenon, the government needs to develop an inclusive digital communication strategy, establish an early detection system for public sentiment, and uphold the principles of good governance and evidence-based policy. These findings are relevant for academics and policymakers seeking to understand the interaction between social media, public opinion, and government policy in the digital era.

This research has a crucial objective to facilitate primary school (SD) teachers so they are able to effectively and efficiently integrate and present Social Studies (IPS) material enriched with the content of local wisdom. Local wisdom is defined as a treasure inherited through generations, encompassing in-depth knowledge, real practices, and fundamental values that have developed and been firmly held within the local community. This foundation makes the learning process not only informative but also highly relevant and meaningful for students’ lives. This article specifically highlights that the integration of values, culture, and knowledge sourced from the local area can produce significant positive impacts. These impacts include improving students' conceptual understanding of Social Studies material, fostering their active participation in the classroom, and honing essential critical thinking skills. Teachers are encouraged to use a contextual approach or a real-life-based approach, so the material taught feels close to the students' experiences and is easier to grasp. The values embedded in local wisdom will function as a strong bridge in understanding every material concept. Thus, the knowledge acquired by students does not only stop at the cognitive level (merely theoretical knowledge), but can also be implemented concretely in the form of real actions and behavior outside the school environment. This local wisdom-based learning approach will ultimately become an important connection that guides students to act appropriately, ethically, and solution-oriented in responding to various problems they face in their daily lives.

The lack of awareness regarding the emotional impact of bullying remains a persistent issue in schools. It hinders students’ ability to build self-confidence, form healthy social relationships, and reach their full academic potential. In response to this concern, an anti-bullying training program was implemented at a junior high school (SMP Gembala Baik Pontianak). The program aimed to enhance students’ understanding of different forms of bullying and their consequences, while also promoting active participation in fostering a safe and supportive school environment. The training employed a multi-phase approach: material preparation, interactive presentations, group discussions, empathy-building exercises, and evaluation through questionnaires and behavioural observation. The results were notable: 98.91% of participants demonstrated improved understanding of bullying and its serious effects, while 73.11% reported increased confidence in reporting bullying incidents. Furthermore, 95.69% of students acknowledged that the training helped them appreciate the importance of embracing diversity and creating a safe environment. Additionally, 83.87% felt more motivated to show empathy toward their peers. These findings suggest that effective bullying prevention extends beyond information delivery—it must also engage students emotionally and instill a sense of personal responsibility. Similar programs are recommended to be held regularly with updated and contextually relevant materials.
