This study explores the central and strategic role of families in shaping the faith foundation of their children by viewing the family as a “little church”. This concept emphasizes the importance of the family environment in shaping children's religious beliefs and practices. The purpose of this study is to ultimately discover what are the roles of families in shaping and building the foundation of children's faith. The study also aims for families to have an overview of their existence in a “small church”. This study uses a qualitative methodology by focusing on analyzing the phenomenon of today's family from the perspective of the Ecclesiastical Document Series No. 30 FAMILIARIS CONSORTIO. Through a qualitative approach, we investigated how families play a major role in strengthening the faith of their children through various daily religious practices, Bible study, prayer, and participation in joint religious activities. Our findings highlight the importance of parents' role as faith models and spiritual educators for their children, as well as the close relationship between family interactions and the formation of children's faith foundation. The practical implications of this study emphasize the need for church support for families in strengthening their central role in guiding children's faith development.

This study aims to explain the urgency of instilling character values in education in the modern era, describe the strategies or approaches used in the educational environment, and identify challenges and solutions in their implementation. The method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques included observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, with the research subjects consisting of teachers, students, and principals at primary and secondary education levels. The results show that the cultivation of character values such as honesty, responsibility, discipline, tolerance, and cooperation is very important to form learners who not only excel in academics, but also have moral integrity and emotional maturity. Strategies used in character cultivation include integration of character values in learning, habituation of positive attitudes, teacher role models, and extracurricular activities. The main challenges in implementing character education are the negative influence of digital media, the weak role of the family, and the lack of consistency in character development. Solutions include improving educators' competence in character education, strengthening cooperation between schools and parents, and creating a school environment that supports a positive culture. Thus, character education should be an integral part of the education system, through synergistic cooperation between schools, families and communities.

This study aims to describe the role of counseling in the process of Islamic-based drug rehabilitation at the Khalid Bin Walid Islamic Syar'i Narcotics Rehabilitation Institute, Medan. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through semi-structured interviews, observations, and documentation which were then analyzed thematically. The results of the study indicate that individual counseling is the main core in helping participants understand the root of the problem of addiction, build motivation, and design strategies for a healthy, drug-free life. Group therapy complements the rehabilitation process by strengthening solidarity and social skills among participants. In addition, spiritual guidance based on Islamic values plays an important role in strengthening inner peace and commitment to change. However, the rehabilitation process faces significant challenges such as emotional instability of participants, minimal family support, and limited facilities and professional staff. To overcome this, the institution collaborates with various related institutions to support the legal, social, and medical aspects of rehabilitation. This study concludes that drug rehabilitation that integrates an Islamic-based bio-psycho-social-spiritual approach can be an effective model in the recovery of addicts, with the support of synergy between institutions and a conducive social environment.

Women entrepreneurship in Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) plays a vital role in the local economy. However, women entrepreneurs often face complex emotional and psychological challenges due to their dual roles as housewives and entrepreneurs. Market uncertainty, social pressure, and lack of support from their environment further burden their workload. This study aims to explore the subjective experiences of women micro MSMEs, particularly in dealing with the psychological pressures of carrying out these roles. The research method used is a qualitative phenomenological approach with seven informants from the culinary, handicraft, and online trading sectors. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and non-participant observation, then analyzed using a thematic approach based on the Miles & Huberman model. The results of the study revealed four main themes: (1) the pressure of dual roles that often trigger stress and emotional exhaustion (burnout), (2) chronic anxiety related to fear of business failure and income instability, (3) spirituality and religious activities as meaning-based coping mechanisms, and (4) the importance of social support from partners, family, and community as a balance of emotional conditions. These findings confirm that the success and sustainability of women's businesses depend not only on economic capital or technical skills, but are also significantly influenced by mental health and the strength of social networks. Therefore, empowerment programs for women's MSMEs need to be designed holistically, encompassing psychosocial aspects, coping strategy training, and strengthening supportive and inclusive social networks.

Obesity in women of childbearing age is a growing health problem, not only due to dietary patterns and lack of physical activity, but also due to the influence of social and cultural factors. This study aims to gain a deeper understanding of the experiences, perspectives, and habits of women of reproductive age who are obese within the context of local social and cultural norms. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, data was collected through in-depth interviews with five primary informants who are obese, as well as triangulation informants from community health workers and healthcare professionals. The results of the study indicate that perceptions of obesity are still predominantly viewed from the perspective of physical appearance rather than health. Social factors such as family eating patterns, snacking habits, comments from others, and lack of physical activity are triggers for obesity. Meanwhile, local culture has a varied influence—some communities are beginning to adopt slim body ideals, while others remain neutral. Obesity also impacts self-confidence, social stigma, and limitations in daily activities. However, most informants expressed hope for a healthier life. This study recommends interventions that consider local cultural values and involve family and community support in obesity prevention effort.

This study aims to analyze the influence of social media and social environment on the hedonistic lifestyle among contemporary adolescents. A hedonistic lifestyle, which prioritizes the pursuit of personal pleasure and material satisfaction, has become increasingly prevalent among adolescents with the rapid development of technology, especially social media. This research employs a qualitative approach using in-depth interviews and case studies involving adolescents who are active social media users in several major cities in Indonesia. The results indicate that social media plays a significant role in shaping ideal life standards that emphasize luxury, social status, and instant gratification, which influences adolescents to pursue similar lifestyles. Additionally, the social environment, particularly family and peer groups, further strengthens adolescents' desire to gain recognition and social status through a consumerist lifestyle. The study also finds that although a hedonistic lifestyle provides momentary satisfaction, its long-term effects can be detrimental both psychologically and financially, and can worsen self-image and emotional well-being among adolescents. Therefore, it is important to provide more comprehensive education to adolescents on the wise use of social media and support the development of healthier life values within family and school environments.

Background: Islamic inheritance law represents a critical component of family law systems that extends beyond religious obligations to encompass significant socio-economic implications for asset distribution and intergenerational justice. While Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam have both incorporated Islamic law into their national legal frameworks, their implementation approaches demonstrate fundamental structural and procedural differences that warrant systematic comparative analysis. Objective: This study examines the institutional frameworks and implementation effectiveness of Islamic inheritance law systems in Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam, analyzing how constitutional arrangements and governmental approaches influence the practical application of faraid principles. Methods: This research employs a normative legal methodology utilizing comparative analysis of legal frameworks, institutional structures, and judicial decisions. The study analyzes primary legal sources including constitutional provisions, statutory laws, court decisions, and administrative guidelines from both jurisdictions. Data collection encompassed library research examining fiqh literature, national legislation, official documents, scholarly articles, and religious legal opinions. Theoretical frameworks of legal pluralism (Romano-Gierke), Maqasid al-Shariah, and Hartian legal positivism provide analytical foundations for institutional effectiveness assessment. Results: Malaysia's dual legal system creates jurisdictional tensions between Syariah and civil courts, particularly regarding immovable property administration, resulting in administrative complexity and legal uncertainty that undermines Islamic law effectiveness. Conversely, Brunei's centralized Islamic legal framework demonstrates superior institutional coherence through exclusive Syariah court jurisdiction, enabling direct faraid implementation without inter-court conflicts. The study reveals that approximately RM42 billion in Muslim inheritance remains undistributed in Malaysia due to systematic administrative failures, while Brunei's unified approach achieves greater legal certainty and administrative efficiency. Conclusions: Institutional structures fundamentally determine Islamic inheritance law implementation effectiveness in contemporary Muslim societies. Successful Islamic law implementation requires comprehensive institutional support aligning legal structures with religious objectives rather than mere constitutional recognition. Malaysia's fragmented system inadvertently undermines Islamic law's divine authority through secular intervention, while Brunei's unified approach enhances religious legitimacy and community compliance.

Marriage or marriage is a contract that legitimizes association and limits the rights and obligations between a man and a woman who are not mahram. To achieve marriage, pre-marital guidance is provided for prospective brides and grooms which is the order of the Ministry of Religion through the KUA in the District, one of which is the KUA in Silangkitang District. Therefore, one of the pre-marital guidance aims to provide a good and correct understanding, so that Muslim families will be able to realize a sakinah mawaddah warahmah family. So is pre-marital guidance effective in realizing this at the KUA Silangkitang for prospective brides and grooms there, this study will discuss this. From the background above, the author focuses on two problem formulations, namely (1) How is the effectiveness of the law on pre-marital guidance according to the KUA Silangkitang District? (2) How is the effectiveness of the law on pre-marital guidance according to prospective brides and grooms at the KUA Silangkitang District? The type of research conducted by the author is field research using qualitative types. The data collection techniques for this study are observation, interviews and documentation. Meanwhile, for the research analysis, the theory of Miles and Hubermen is used, namely data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions or verification. The effectiveness of the law on premarital guidance according to the KUA of Silangkitang District has been effective in five aspects. Regarding the effectiveness of the law on premarital guidance according to prospective brides and grooms at the KUA of Silangkitang District, it has been effective in four aspects, (legal factors, law enforcement factors, factors of facilities or facilities that support law enforcement, community factors). What has not been fulfilled is the aspect of the culture of the community or the culture of the community has not been effective because some of the bride and groom do not understand premarital guidance.

This community service activity aims to improve the ability to read the Qur'an among children in Pengkol Hamlet, Ngrami Village, through guidance and the role of the Qur'an Education Park (TPQ). The background of this research is the low ability to read the Qur'an due to limited teaching methods, lack of intensive guidance, low motivation to learn, and inadequate TPQ facilities. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods and Participatory Action Research (PAR) involving TPQ managers, teachers, and students. The results showed that children in Pengkol Hamlet generally have low Al-Qur'an reading skills, with many errors in the pronunciation of makharijul letters and incorrect application of reading laws. The presence of KDLK students in assisting teaching has made the learning process more conducive and allowed for creative activities such as competitions. Factors influencing the effectiveness of TPQ include teacher quality and competence, curriculum and learning methods, and family and community support. The main obstacle found is the large number of children (40 children) which is not proportional to the number of teachers. This community service is expected to create significant social change in improving sustainable Qur'an reading skills and strengthening religious values in the community.

This research is motivated by the social problems of junior high school children in Panggul Village, Trenggalek, whose parents work as female migrant workers. The children show symptoms of lack of socialization, low self-confidence, and minimal emotional support from their mothers. This study aims to analyze the social competence and social responsibility of these children. The approach used is qualitative with a case study method. Informants consisted of 11 people, namely TKW husbands, substitute families, community leaders, and junior high school children. Data collection techniques include in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that junior high school children in Panggul Village who are left by their parents as TKW have the ability to interact with family, friends, and the community, but tend to have less understanding of the social conditions around them due to their indifference and lack of self-confidence. They are closed, have minimal empathy due to lack of role models from parents, and only show concern for peers. In terms of responsibility, these children have awareness of interacting with family, but still lack overall concern.

Adolescence is a critical phase in individual development, especially for adolescent girls who begin to experience menstruation as a sign of reproductive maturity. However, not all adolescents experience menstruation normally; some experience disorders such as menstrual pain, irregular cycles, and prolonged bleeding. This study aims to explore in depth the subjective experiences of adolescent girls with menstrual disorders at SMP Negeri 2 Bunta, Banggai Regency, focusing on the nature of the disorders experienced, their interpretation of these experiences, coping strategies, and the social support received. This study employs a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design. The primary informants were female adolescents in grades VII–IX who had experienced menstrual disorders in the past six months, selected purposively until data saturation was achieved. Data collection techniques included in-depth interviews, non-participatory observation, and document analysis. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that menstrual disorders are viewed as normal by most informants, despite causing physical discomfort and psychological anxiety. Adolescents' responses to these disorders vary, ranging from the use of warm compresses and medication to no intervention at all. The primary sources of information are mothers and social media, while the roles of teachers and schools remain limited. Social support is most commonly provided by family, although some adolescents also feel supported by peers and teachers. This study emphasizes the importance of systematic reproductive health education, school involvement in supporting adolescents, and the creation of safe and stigma-free discussion spaces regarding menstruation-related issues.

This research aims to understand the dynamics of social labeling of the Tasawuf Underground community in Ciputat and how this community responds to the stigma attached by society. This community consists of punk kids who previously received negative stigma due to street lifestyle, psychotropic use, and family conflicts. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method and data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. The results showed that the negative labeling of punk kids is not only based on deviant behavior, but is more influenced by appearances that do not conform to dominant norms. The Tasawuf Underground Community provides a safe space for the social reintegration process through a tasawuf-based spiritual approach, moral development, and job training. The theory of labeling is used to analyze how the identity of punk kids is renegotiated through community support, behavior change, and resistance to stigma. This research concludes that the social reintegration of punk kids depends not only on individual change, but also on changing the paradigm of society in seeing the potential of the future, not the past. The Tasawuf Underground community plays an important role as a reframing agent that allows the redefinition of the identity of punk kids from being labeled deviant to socially and spiritually accepted individuals.

This research aims to analyze the impact of family socio-economic conditions on the interest in learning of preschool children (ages 3-6) at KB Darussalam Sidoarjo. Interest in learning at an early age is an important foundation for children's cognitive and socio-emotional development in the future. However, this interest does not exist in isolation but is greatly influenced by the child's immediate environment, namely the family and its socio-economic conditions. Abraham Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs theory is used as a conceptual framework to understand how the fulfillment of children's basic needs, which is often related to socio-economic conditions, affects their motivation and interest in learning. This study employs a qualitative approach with a case study design, focusing on KB Darussalam Sidoarjo. Data is collected through in-depth interviews with parents/guardians and teachers, as well as participatory observation of children in the learning environment. The research results show that the socio-economic conditions of families have a significant and multifaceted impact on the learning interest of preschool children. Economic limitations can hinder the fulfillment of children's physiological needs and their sense of safety, which directly reduces their energy and focus on learning. In addition, socio-economic conditions affect the quality of parent-child interactions and the availability of learning stimulation at home, which are crucial to fostering a sense of love, belonging, and appreciation in children. An environment that inadequately supports basic needs tends to result in lower levels of interest in learning.

This study aims to analyze the effect of maqashid sharia on Muslim women's happiness in Indonesia, using data from the Indonesian Family Life Survey (IFLS) 5th wave 2014. Maqashid sharia, as a core concept in Islamic law, focuses on the maintenance of five main aspects, namely religion (ad-din), soul (an-nafs), intellect (al-aql), offspring (an-nasl), and property (al-mal). This study examines whether the implementation of maqashid sharia principles coupled with region of residence as a control variable has a significant impact on the subjective happiness of Muslim women in Indonesia. Using logit regression method and STATA software, this study found that the maintenance of health (soul), education (mind), and income (wealth) has a significant positive effect on Muslimah's happiness, heredity (lineage) shows an insignificant negative effect, religiosity (religion) shows a positive and significant relationship, while the region of residence has an insignificant negative relationship with the level of happiness of Muslimah in Indonesia. These results indicate that the subjective happiness of Indonesian Muslim women is more influenced by material dimensions than philosophical or spiritual matters. This research is expected to contribute to the formulation of public policies that support the social welfare of Muslimahs based on maqashid sharia.

This study aims to examine how the narrative of “lelaki tidak bercerita” is reproduced and internalized by young men through their personal experiences in family, friendship, and social media. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, the research involved four male students from Pendidikan Sosiologi, Universitas Negeri Jakarta as key informants. The findings show that hegemonic masculinity shapes men to suppress emotional expression from an early age, mainly through unspoken family norms and socially unsupportive relationships. While friendships and social media sometimes offer more fluid spaces, dominant narratives still restrict men’s vulnerability. Social media acts as a space for passive emotional validation, yet often reinforces old stereotypes. The impact of this construction is evident in hidden psychological burdens, emotional distraction, and indirect coping strategies. This study highlights the importance of creating inclusive and supportive social spaces where men can express emotions without stigma. By critically understanding the dynamics of hegemonic masculinity, society is encouraged to foster more empathetic and equitable social relations.
