Scouting extracurricular activities play a strategic role in shaping the character of elementary school students, particularly in instilling the values of discipline, solidarity, and cooperation, which are essential for children's personal and social development. This community service project aims to describe the process of mentoring the Marching Regulations (PBB) at SDIT Al-Qonita while identifying the impacts it has on strengthening students' character. The methods used in mentoring include lectures to convey basic concepts, demonstrations as examples of correct movements, repeated practice to train technical skills, joint reflection to evaluate experiences, and a comprehensive evaluation of the results of the activities. The mentoring process was carried out in three meetings over three weeks, with stages starting from an introduction to basic marching material, intensive group practice, and implementation of evaluations that emphasize technical and non-technical aspects. The results of the activity showed that students experienced an increase in technical skills in marching, such as movement accuracy and neatness of formation. Furthermore, this activity was proven to be able to strengthen discipline, solidarity, a sense of responsibility, and the ability to work together among students. Furthermore, the inclusion of educational games and icebreakers during training sessions has proven effective in maintaining motivation, reducing boredom, and creating a pleasant learning environment. Thus, the extracurricular Scouting activities, supported by the National Scout Movement (PBB), serve not only as a means of training marching skills but also as a means of ongoing character development. The results of this community service demonstrate that the PBB can be used as a relevant educational instrument to strengthen the character of elementary school students while simultaneously supporting the achievement of national education goals.

The 2021 Indonesian Nutritional Status Survey (SSGI) shows that 1 in 4 Indonesian children suffers from stunting and 1 in 10 children suffers from malnutrition. Good nutrition is a crucial foundation for optimal growth and development, especially for those growing up in vulnerable environments. According to the WHO, stunting is a failure of growth and development experienced by children due to prolonged inadequate nutritional intake, recurrent infectious diseases, and inadequate psychosocial stimulation. However, on the other hand, children who experience stunting are usually accompanied by developmental delays in various other organs, especially if malnutrition occurs during the first 1000 days of life (HPK). Stunting is defined as a child's length for age (PB/A) or height for age (H/A) that is lower than -2 standard deviations. Therefore, a child with stunting is definitely stunted, but a child who is stunted is not necessarily stunted. Stunting that occurs before a child is 2 years old is an indication of decreased cognitive abilities at a later age if not followed by adequate psychosocial stimulation, thus impacting academic or educational abilities later in life. Providing innovative education such as making moringa pudding is one way to present nutritious and creative food or drinks so that it can be accepted by kindergarten mothers who have toddlers and preschoolers. The content of moringa leaves is a food ingredient that has good nutritional value, especially for preventing stunting in children.

This study explores the alignment between science learning practices and children’s cognitive development stages based on Jean Piaget’s theory. Ten academic publications were systematically reviewed to examine how Piaget’s framework can be applied in science education. The findings highlight that integrating cognitive development theory is highly relevant for improving the quality of teaching and learning in schools. At the concrete operational stage (approximately 7–11 years), children learn best through direct experiences, manipulation of real objects, contextual media, and experiments that connect concepts with daily life. These methods help foster curiosity and reinforce conceptual understanding. As learners progress to the formal operational stage (around 11 years and above), they begin to think abstractly, reason logically, and analyze critically. At this level, student-centered approaches, inquiry-based methods, and constructivist learning become more effective in enhancing problem-solving, creativity, and higher-order thinking skills. The review also indicates that adapting instruction to developmental stages supports more meaningful and sustainable learning outcomes. In the Indonesian educational context, this approach can address challenges such as limited classroom facilities, diverse student learning styles, and a curriculum that is often overloaded. By applying Piaget’s insights, teachers can design learning strategies that bridge abstract concepts with concrete understanding, thus increasing student motivation and engagement. In conclusion, aligning science education with Piaget’s cognitive stages is an effective way to improve student performance and ensure long-term academic growth. The study provides valuable input for teachers, researchers, and policymakers in developing innovative, student-centered science and mathematics education.

Child developmental delay is a public health issue that needs to be identified early to prevent long-term impacts on children’s quality of life. In Rantau Prapat Sub-district, cases are still found among toddlers with undernutrition, incomplete immunizations, and suboptimal developmental stimulation, which may pose risks of growth and developmental delays. This study aims to apply the Naive Bayes method in identifying child developmental delays based on health data collected through medical records and questionnaires. The research method includes data collection, pre-processing (cleaning, transformation, and normalization), classification using the Naive Bayes algorithm, and model validation with the k-fold cross-validation technique. The results showed that out of 150 toddler data samples, 30.7% experienced developmental delays, with the dominant influencing factors being nutritional status and immunization completeness. The Naive Bayes algorithm achieved an accuracy rate of 87.3% with a precision of 84.1%, recall of 85.7%, and F1-score of 84.9%. These findings demonstrate that Naive Bayes can be used as a decision support system in the early identification process of child developmental delays. Therefore, the results of this study are expected to assist healthcare workers, particularly midwives, in improving the quality of early detection and delivering more targeted interventions for children in the Rantau Prapat area.

Diarrhea remains a major public health problem among children in Indonesia, with a high prevalence that impacts morbidity, mortality, and child development. One of the key risk factors is non-compliance with hygiene practices, particularly handwashing behavior. This study aimed to determine the relationship between handwashing compliance and diarrhea cases among children treated in the Pediatric Ward of Dahlia, RSUD Dr. H. Soewondo Kendal. The research employed a quantitative analytic method with a cross-sectional design, involving a total sampling of 39 child respondents aged 5–10 years who met the inclusion criteria. Data were collected using a handwashing compliance questionnaire and a diarrhea incidence questionnaire, and analyzed using Spearman’s Rank Correlation test. The results showed that most respondents were in the moderately compliant (53.8%) and compliant (43.6%) categories for handwashing, while the incidence of diarrhea remained relatively high at 51.3%. Bivariate analysis indicated a significant negative relationship between handwashing compliance and diarrhea cases (ρ = -0.538; p = 0.000), meaning that the higher the level of handwashing compliance, the lower the incidence of diarrhea. In conclusion, handwashing compliance is an important protective factor in reducing the risk of diarrhea among children. These findings emphasize the need for continuous education for children and parents regarding proper handwashing practices, as well as the integration of Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) promotion into healthcare and educational services to prevent diarrhea from an early age

Alcohol abuse is a serious issue that not only affects the individual experiencing addiction but also has profound consequences for families, particularly parents. Parents often face significant emotional, social, and psychological burdens when dealing with a child struggling with alcohol dependence. This study aims to gain an in-depth understanding of parental acceptance of children with alcohol addiction. The research employed a qualitative phenomenological approach with two parents as participants, each having a child with alcohol dependence. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, which allowed for a rich exploration of personal experiences, and analyzed using the Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) technique. The thematic analysis revealed six major themes: the dynamics of parent–child interactions, emotional responses of parents, changes in the child’s behavior due to addiction, the influence of parents’ past experiences, self-harming behavior as a coping mechanism, and the normalization of the child’s behavior. Findings indicate that parents’ past experiences, including trauma and parenting patterns, strongly influenced how they accepted their child’s condition. Furthermore, maladaptive coping strategies, such as self-harm, emerged as part of the acceptance process when parents faced situations beyond their control. This study underscores the importance of trauma-informed family interventions to help parents develop healthier coping mechanisms. It also highlights the need for comprehensive psychoeducational programs that involve all family members to foster resilience and mutual support. In doing so, the research contributes to the development of more effective psychological support systems for families affected by alcohol addiction.

Posyandu plays a crucial role in improving community health, particularly in monitoring the growth and development of children during the golden age. However, limitations in the knowledge and skills of Posyandu cadres are still frequently found, especially regarding anthropometric measurement of toddlers. This study aims to examine the effect of the flipped classroom educational method on the knowledge improvement of Posyandu cadres in anthropometric measurement of toddlers in Bumiharjo Village. This research employed a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group. A total of 38 respondents were recruited and divided into two groups: the intervention group, which received education using the flipped classroom method, and the control group, which did not receive the same treatment. Data analysis was conducted using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, Mann Whitney U Test, and ANCOVA to control for baseline differences. The results showed a significant improvement in knowledge in the intervention group after treatment (p=0.000), with the proportion of respondents in the “good” knowledge category increasing from 5.3% to 36.8%. In the control group, improvement was observed but limited (p=0.003), with no respondents reaching the “good” category. The Mann Whitney test indicated significant differences in posttest scores between the groups (p=0.000). Furthermore, ANCOVA analysis confirmed that after controlling for pretest scores, posttest scores remained significantly different (F=6.771; p=0.013). In conclusion, the flipped classroom method effectively improves the knowledge of Posyandu cadres regarding toddler anthropometric measurement. This strategy can serve as an innovative and sustainable alternative for cadre training, ultimately enhancing Posyandu service quality in addressing nutritional and health issues among toddlers.

This study aims to explore the ways in which Islamic Religious Education (PAI) influences the moral growth of Tamanayu 01 Elementary School pupils. Given the difficulties presented by the digital age and shifting societal norms, moral development has become an essential part of basic education. This study combined a case study methodology with a qualitative technique. Observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation with the administrator, parents, instructors, and children were used to collect the data. The findings demonstrated that Tamanayu 01 Elementary School's implementation of PAI was done in a comprehensive way by incorporating Islamic values into the curriculum, holding regular religious events like congregational prayer and sermons, and encouraging teacher cooperation to create a religious school culture. In addition to cognitive dimensions, learning also addressed pupils' emotive and psychomotor aspects. Significant supporting factors included the commitment of the principal and teachers, family and community support, and the availability of infrastructure. However, the process of moral formation also faced obstacles such as limited time for PAI learning, the negative influence of social media, the diversity of student backgrounds, and limited resources. According to the study's findings, PAI plays a strategic role in forming students' personalities through an all-encompassing, contextual, and cooperative approach. It is anticipated that other elementary schools will use these findings as a guide when creating character education programmes based on Islamic principles.

Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem that impacts the physical growth and cognitive development of children, one of the causes is inappropriate parenting patterns such as exclusive breastfeeding, diet, and lack of nutritional fulfillment so that children are at risk of malnutrition. In Jember Regency itself, the high rate of stunting is a serious challenge for the government and the community that needs to be addressed. The selection of Gunungmalang Village as the location of community service is based on the high rate of stunting and early marriage as one of the causes of stunting. This community service activity began with training for Family Support Team (TPK) and Posyandu cadres, outreach to pregnant women, parents of infants/toddlers regarding the prevention and treatment of stunting, and a cooking demonstration of vegetable nuggets as an output of the activity by utilizing food ingredients that are easily available in the Gunungmalang community as an initial step to fulfill the nutrition of toddlers. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach as a method from a case study of scientific paper research that describes factually and in detail related to the activities of the CINTA (Prevent Stunting and Increase Nutrition) work program. The objective of this scientific study is to implement a community service program through collaborative Community Service Programs (KKN) to prevent and address stunting in Gunungmalang Village. Data collection techniques used triangulation (observation, interviews, and documentation). This study demonstrates that the implementation of the community service program has a positive impact on increasing community awareness and changing behavior regarding stunting

This community service research aimed to empower elementary school children’s creativity through fun, educational, and environmentally friendly activities. Conducted at Bimbel Arsal in Tolokan Village, the project focused on ecoprinting training on tote bags using local natural resources. The activity followed a three-stage implementation process: preparation, execution, and reflection. The preparation stage included coordination with tutoring teachers and the gathering of tools and materials. During the execution stage, children were introduced to ecoprinting and practiced the pounding technique with guidance from the KKN team. The reflection stage involved discussions, a question-and-answer session, and product evaluation. The results showed that the children successfully learned ecoprinting techniques, understood the environmental benefits, and expressed their creativity through unique and beautiful ecoprint designs on tote bags. Although challenges arose—such as difficulties selecting natural materials with strong color yields and technical issues during the beating process—the activity proceeded smoothly, thanks to the children’s enthusiasm, support from the tutoring center, and careful planning. Ultimately, the project proved effective in enhancing the children’s creativity, self-confidence, and environmental awareness. This activity not only empowered children but also contributed to promoting sustainable practices and fostering environmental consciousness among young learners. The success of the program highlights the importance of creative, hands-on learning activities in promoting both personal development and environmental responsibility.
