Fisheries extension services play a strategic role in strengthening the capacity of fish farmers and accelerating the development of sustainable aquaculture businesses. The effectiveness of extension activities is strongly influenced by how fish farmers perceive the roles performed by fisheries extension workers. This study aims to analyze the level of fish farmers’ perceptions of the role of fisheries extension workers in developing aquaculture businesses in Loa Kulu District, Kutai Kartanegara Regency. In addition, this research examines the characteristics of fish farmers and analyzes the relationship between internal and external factors and the level of perception toward extension roles. This study employed a descriptive and correlational research design using both qualitative and quantitative approaches. A total of 42 respondents were selected from 719 fish farmers using the Slovin formula with a 15% margin of error and proportionate stratified random sampling across 10 villages. Data were collected through structured questionnaires using a Likert scale and analyzed using descriptive statistics and Spearman's rank correlation analysis. The results indicate that the overall perception of fish farmers toward the roles of fisheries extension workers—namely as educators, facilitators, motivators, innovators, advocates, organizers, and evaluators—falls within the high category. Among these roles, the organizer and facilitator roles received the highest perception scores. Internal factors such as age, income, and land area showed significant correlations with certain extension roles, particularly the roles of educator, motivator, and evaluator. External factors, including interaction with extension workers, interaction with traders, availability of market information, and access to aquaculture science and technology, were also significantly correlated with perception levels. These findings suggest that strengthening both socio-economic conditions and access to information and technology can enhance positive perceptions of extension services, ultimately contributing to more effective aquaculture development programs. The study highlights the importance of optimizing extension performance to sustain fish farmers’ productivity and welfare improvement.

In this study, the population growth rate of Pematang Siantar City during the period 2022–2025 is discussed through an improper integral approach. Population growth patterns must be analyzed and predicted in the long term. Linear, geometric, and exponential growth models are used to analyze data taken from the Statistics Center. The calculation results show that the population growth rate changes every year, with an average change of 0.10% per year. The prediction for 2025–2026 shows a growth of 0.59%, indicating an increase in population. However, through an improper integral approach, it is found that a population that experiences a decrease in growth rate over time will reach a limited cumulative total population value, even if the population continues to increase. These results indicate that a long-term downward trend can lead to population shrinkage, uncontrolled growth can lead to population density. As a result, this study is expected to provide a scientific basis for population policies and sustainable development planning in Pematang Siantar City.

Indonesia, as an archipelago, has significant agricultural potential, but its optimal utilization requires balancing rice production volume with the available harvest area. This study analyzed the contribution of harvested area to rice production in Gorontalo Regency using linear regression analysis. The data used included the harvest area and the amount of rice production during the period 2018–2024, sourced from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) of Gorontalo Province. The independent variable in this study was the amount of rice production (tonnes), while the dependent variable was the area of harvest (Ha). The analysis results revealed a very strong linear relationship between the two variables, with a correlation coefficient (R) of 0.8437 and a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.7119. The regression equation indicated that an increase in rice production by 4.8891 tonnes corresponded to an increase in the harvested area by 1 hectare. The model significance value of 0.017017 indicated that the regression model was statistically significant. This finding demonstrates that the amount of rice production significantly affects the area of harvest, and the model can serve as a predictive basis for planning agricultural sector policies in Gorontalo Regency.

The Maluku Islands are a high-poverty region in Indonesia. The region consists of 2 provinces, namely Maluku province and North Maluku province. There are 21 districts/cities in the region, with 17 regencies and 4 municipalities. The poverty rate in this region is a challenge that always wants to be studied with a socio-population approach and a mathematical statistics approach. One method or approach in analyzing poverty is Principal Component Analysis (PCA).  PCA has the advantage of simplifying information from various variables to several principal components without losing much information and can overcome the problem of multiple linearity by changing variables that correlate with freely related components. The purpose of this research is to identify poverty in districts/municipalities in Maluku Islands using the PCA approach. The results showed that the components formed by the PCA method were formed in 2 factors. Factor 1 consists of GRDP (X2), Life Expectancy Rate (X3), Unemployment Rate (X4) and Percentage of Population (X6). Meanwhile, factor 2 consists of 2 variables, namely the Poverty Level (X1) and TPAK (X5).

Background: Maternal nutritional status plays a crucial role in determining both maternal and neonatal health outcomes. According to data from the Indonesian Ministry of Health (2021), the prevalence of anemia among pregnant women reached 48.9%, while in Gorontalo Province, around 30% experienced malnutrition. Poor nutritional status during pregnancy is associated with increased risks of complications, including preterm birth, low birth weight, and higher maternal and neonatal mortality rates. Therefore, nutrition education is considered an essential strategy to enhance knowledge and promote adequate dietary intake among pregnant women. Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of nutrition education in improving the knowledge and nutritional status of pregnant women at the South Bulango Community Health Center. Methods: A quantitative study with a pre-experimental design was conducted involving 30 pregnant women selected through purposive sampling. Inclusion criteria included women aged 18–35 years, free from severe comorbidities, and willing to participate. Data were collected using questionnaires to assess nutritional knowledge, interviews to explore dietary patterns, and anthropometric measurements such as weight, height, and mid-upper arm circumference (MUAC). Data analysis employed descriptive statistics and the Wilcoxon test to assess differences before and after the intervention. Results: Most participants were aged 20–35 years (66.6%), had secondary education (63.3%), and were housewives (60%). Post-intervention results showed a substantial increase in good nutritional knowledge from 13.3% to 60%. Nutritional status also improved progressively across trimesters, with normal MUAC increasing from 33.3% to 60%, while undernutrition declined from 50% to 13.3%. The Wilcoxon test indicated a significant difference (p = 0.000; p < 0.05). Conclusion: Nutrition education effectively enhances both knowledge and nutritional status among pregnant women and should be integrated into routine antenatal care services.

One of the causes of the high Maternal Mortality Rate (AKI) is long childbirth. If the delivery process lasts a long time, it can cause the mother to be exhausted because she runs out of energy. This results in inadequate uterine contractions (his) so that it can cause failure in the progress of labor. In addition to the inadequacy of uterine contractions (his), psychological conditions are also one of the factors that affect the length of labor progress. The psychological condition in question is the mother's perception of anxiety and pain during the childbirth process. One of the non-pharmacological therapies is self-healing , which is one of the methods used to manage emotions in order to avoid things that cause stress. This study aims to analyze the Effectiveness of Self-Healing to Reduce the Intensity of Pain in Maternal Mothers at PMB Winda Nainggolan, Hutabayu District, Simalungun Regency, North Sumatra Province in 2024. This research method uses a quantitative research approach with a quasi-experimental design research method in one group (one group prestest posttest).
