The application of this new Sharia financial system plays an important role in strengthening the principles of Islamic economics, including the prohibition of usury (riba), uncertainty (gharar), unjust distribution of wealth, and investments that harm the community. Investment in Islamic economics is a means of placing funds with the aim of generating profit, while adhering to the principles of Islamic economics, making it a permissible activity that avoids elements of usury, gambling (maysir), and uncertainty (gharar). The implementation of these principles of Islamic economics will ultimately benefit the community and prevent any harm. Inflation is a significant economic challenge in Indonesia, affecting price stability and people's purchasing power. In a sharia economic perspective, inflation is not only seen as an economic phenomenon, but also involves moral and social aspects. This article discusses the role of sharia monetary instruments in controlling inflation in Indonesia, highlighting the principles of fairness and transparency. Instruments such as Bank Indonesia Sharia Certificates (SBIS), Bank Indonesia Sharia Savings Facilities (FASBIS), and Sharia Open Market Operations (OPT) have been implemented to regulate the amount of money in circulation and maintain economic stability. Although their contribution to controlling inflation is still limited, the potential of sharia instruments can be strengthened through increasing market understanding, education and collaboration between the government, Bank Indonesia and sharia financial institutions. With more optimal implementation, sharia monetary instruments can create a stable, fair and sustainable economic system for the Indonesian people.

This paper discusses the principle of bank secrecy as an important instrument in legal protection for customers, as well as its relevance in maintaining public trust in the banking sector in Indonesia. Based on the legal framework stipulated in Law Number 10 of 1998 concerning Banking and Law Number 4 of 2023 concerning the Development and Strengthening of the Financial Sector (PPSK), this study highlights the obligation of banks to protect customer data, including exceptional situations regulated by law. Normative legal research is used to analyze legal principles, laws and regulations, and related literature. The principle of bank secrecy is considered a pillar of customer trust and the main capital in the financial ecosystem. However, challenges arise when this principle conflicts with the interests of law enforcement, such as criminal investigations. The regulations strengthened by the PPSK Law provide a foundation for customer data protection while also regulating administrative and criminal sanctions for violations. On the other hand, the application of this principle also contributes to financial stability by increasing literacy and compliance with regulations. This paper recommends harmonization between the protection of customer privacy rights and the effectiveness of law enforcement to maintain the sustainability of trust in the banking sector.

The rapid development of technology has significantly influenced various economic sectors, including finance. Digitalization has introduced opportunities to create more efficient, transparent, and inclusive financial services. The Sharia Supervisory Board (SSB) holds a pivotal role in ensuring Islamic financial institutions operate in full compliance with Sharia principles. Its responsibilities include issuing fatwas, overseeing daily operations, and ensuring the integrity of financial products and services offered by these institutions. The SSB’s role is critical in maintaining public trust and aligning financial practices with Islamic values. However, significant challenges arise, such as the increasing complexity of financial instruments, rapid technological advancements, and varying interpretations of Sharia principles across jurisdictions. Moreover, public awareness of Islamic finance remains low, and the risk of conflicts of interest in SSB oversight persists. To overcome these challenges, the SSB must strengthen its expertise through continuous education, collaborate with scholars and regulators, and actively engage in public literacy initiatives. Harmonization of Sharia standards at a global level is also essential to navigate the interconnected nature of modern finance. The SSB’s success in addressing these challenges ensures the sustainability of Islamic financial systems while fostering ethical and equitable economic growth.
