This study aims to describe and analyze the implementation of life skills-based Islamic education management at the Al-Hidayah Integrated Islamic Boarding School in Jambi Province. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach, combining observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies to obtain a comprehensive overview of the ongoing managerial process. The results indicate that the implementation of life skills-based Islamic education management is carried out through four main management functions: planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating. Each function is designed to integrate Islamic values ​​with the development of skills relevant to the students' lives. The Islamic boarding school emphasizes strengthening personal, social, academic, and vocational skills, systematically integrated into the curriculum and activities. This approach not only enhances practical skills but also fosters religious character, independence, and prepares students to face the demands of the modern era. These findings confirm that effective and targeted educational management is key to developing a competent and competitive generation of students.  

This study aims to identify the learning needs of deaf students in internship programs, examine the challenges they face, develop appropriate solutions, and design as well as evaluate a visual module-based learning model to improve their work skills. The study used a Research and Development (R&D) approach with a 4D model: Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. The participants included deaf students from special needs high schools (SMALB) involved in vocational internships, mentor teachers, and industry supervisors. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, documentation, and focus group discussions, and analyzed using qualitative techniques supported by descriptive analysis. The findings indicate that deaf students require visual, structured, and easily understandable work instructions supported by symbols, color codes, and guidance materials. Major challenges include limited verbal communication, difficulty understanding instructions, and risks of procedural errors. To address these issues, a systematic and communicative visual module-based learning model was developed, incorporating collaborative support from schools and industry. The resulting model integrates planning, implementation, mentoring, and evaluation stages, and has proven feasible and effective in enhancing students’ independence, technical competence, and overall work readiness.

Drug abuse among adolescents has been increasing, including among youth in Papua. According to data from the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) of Papua Province, there was a 1.73% increase in 2023. One of the contributing factors to adolescent involvement in drug abuse is low self-control. This study aimed to provide self-control training to help prevent drug abuse among adolescents independently. The program involved 37 vocational high school students in Jayapura City and employed a one-group pretest–posttest experimental design without a control group. The intervention consisted of self-control training delivered through lectures, discussions, and a structured learning module. The results indicated a significant improvement in self-control before and after the intervention, as evidenced by a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05) using a paired sample t-test, with an increase in the mean pre-test score (M = 46; SD = 7) to the mean post-test score (M = 48; SD = 6). These findings suggest that students of SMK Negeri 9 Jayapura experienced an improvement in self-control after participating in the training. Practically, this study demonstrates that self-control training can serve as an effective psychological intervention to address drug abuse and harmful substance use among adolescents. This intervention not only helps reduce addictive behaviors but also has the potential to enhance students’ quality of life and academic achievement.

The rapid development of technology in the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 has driven the education sector to continuously adapt to the evolving demands of digital-based industries. One of the key technological innovations supporting this transformation is the Internet of Things (IoT), which enables data acquisition, real-time monitoring, and remote control of systems through internet networks. In response to these developments, a community service program was conducted to enhance the understanding and technical skills of students at SMK Negeri 1 Sindang through the provision and utilization of an IoT Trainer Kit Simulator as a practical learning medium. This activity aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and industry-relevant technological applications by introducing students to hands-on IoT system implementation. The program included demonstrations and guided practice on the use of sensors, microcontrollers, and web-based monitoring platforms to simulate real-world industrial scenarios. The results indicate that students showed high enthusiasm and active participation throughout the activity. Moreover, participants were able to grasp the fundamental concepts of IoT systems, understand component integration, and recognize the relevance of IoT applications in supporting automation and digital transformation. Overall, this community service activity contributed positively to strengthening students’ digital competencies and preparedness for the demands of the contemporary industrial and technological landscape.

This article discusses an experiential training program that integrates three main pillars for students of Parung Panjang Vocational High School (SMK) in Tangerang: optimizing digital platforms as modern marketplaces, developing innovative product packaging to strengthen sales performance, and applying ethical and legal principles in digital business activities. The program is designed to prepare vocational students to become competent, creative, adaptive, and responsible young entrepreneurs in the digital economy. The implementation methods include project-based learning, workshops, seminars, product simulation, mentoring, and intensive practice in using online marketing media. Students are guided to identify market opportunities, design attractive packaging, promote products through digital channels, and understand consumer protection, intellectual property, and honest transaction practices. The expected outcomes include increased digital literacy, improved packaging design skills, stronger entrepreneurial motivation, and better awareness of business ethics and legal compliance. Overall, this program provides practical learning experiences that connect school-based entrepreneurship education with the demands of the contemporary business and industrial environment. It also encourages collaboration among teachers, students, and local business partners for sustainable vocational development in line with future workforce and innovation needs.

This study explores the impact of interactive games on the English vocabulary mastery of grade XI Animal Nursing students at the Kupang State Agricultural Vocational School. Given the low level of vocabulary mastery in vocational high school students, the study aims to investigate how using Gamestolearnenglish.com, an interactive game-based platform, can enhance vocabulary skills. A quasi-experimental design with pre- and post-treatment assessments was implemented. The results showed a significant improvement in students' vocabulary mastery, with the average score rising from 73.70 to 83.52, an increase of 9.82 points. The Shapiro-Wilk test confirmed the normality of the data, and a paired-sample t-test revealed a significant difference between the pre- and post-assessment (p = 0.000). This suggests that the use of interactive games significantly contributes to the enhancement of students' ability to recognize, understand, spell, and use vocabulary. These findings highlight the effectiveness of game-based learning in improving English vocabulary skills among vocational high school students, particularly in agricultural fields.

Students with deaf disabilities often have difficulty understanding verbal instruction, but have significant advantages in visual and motor aspects. This service activity aims to apply multisensory methods through Suminagashi craft art training (cloth marbling) to improve students' fine motor skills and creativity at SLB B Yakut Purwokerto. The implementation method uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a "see-learn-do" strategy involving 20 high school students. The learning process integrates visual stimulation through structured demonstrations and tactile stimulation through the exploration of material textures. The results of the activity showed that the multisensory approach was effective in bridging the barriers of deaf students with disabilities in communicating due to hearing limitations. Students demonstrate a high level of visual focus and are able to replicate marble motif making techniques with precision without relying on complex verbal explanations. The combination of cue instructions and direct touch experiences has been proven to minimize miscommunication and improve understanding of abstract concepts of the material. This activity recommends the use of visual-tactile strategies as an adaptive inclusive learning method to support the vocational independence of deaf people.          

This study aims to strengthen students’ networking competencies through the implementation of straight and cross LAN cable assembly training at SMKN 53 Jakarta. The background of this research is based on the need to enhance students’ practical skills in basic computer networking, particularly in understanding cable configurations and applying crimping techniques according to industry standards. Many students experience difficulties in differentiating wiring standards and applying correct crimping procedures, which impacts their readiness for industry practice. This research employed a practical training approach combined with demonstration and hands-on methods. The participants were students of the Computer and Network Engineering program. Data were collected through observation, performance assessment, and competency tests before and after the implementation. The findings indicate a significant improvement in students’ understanding of cable color standards (T568A and T568B), accuracy in assembling straight and cross cables, and testing results using LAN testers. Students demonstrated higher levels of technical accuracy, problem-solving skills, and work discipline after the intervention. The implementation of structured practical activities proved effective as a medium for strengthening networking competencies. The study implies that continuous practice-based learning aligned with industry standards is essential in vocational education to improve students’ technical readiness and employability in the networking field.

The background of the problem highlights the low level of student attendance, which is caused by the lack of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation in the vocational education environment. This phenomenon impacts the effectiveness of learning and overall student achievement. The purpose of the study is to identify the causal relationship between learning motivation and attendance discipline, and to measure the significant influence of motivation variables on attendance discipline. The approach used is quantitative with a Likert-scale questionnaire survey method. The study sample involved students in grades X-XII at the Saint Ignasius Catholic Vocational School in Wairterang, with data analysis using simple linear regression to test the hypothesis. The results of the study are expected to show a positive and significant influence of learning motivation on attendance discipline. Practical implications include recommended strategies for guidance and counseling (BK) teachers, such as individual counseling programs, attendance-based reward systems, and the integration of intrinsic motivation through vocational extracurricular activities. These strategies are expected to improve learning effectiveness and build students' disciplined character in vocational high schools

Adolescence is a crucial period in human development, characterized by biological, psychological, and social changes. At this stage, adolescents require proper understanding of reproductive health to prevent risky behaviors and to support the development of healthy and responsible attitudes. This community service activity aimed to improve students’ knowledge of reproductive health through socialization at State Vocational High School (SMKN) 1 Mempura, Siak Regency. The method used was descriptive qualitative with a focus on education through material delivery, interactive discussions, and question-and-answer sessions. The activity was conducted on August 14, 2025, at the SMKN 1 Mempura Hall, involving 39 students out of 50 targeted participants. Data were obtained through observation of students’ participation and documentation of the activity, and were then analyzed descriptively and qualitatively. The results showed that students were enthusiastic in attending the socialization and demonstrated improved understanding of reproductive health concepts, reproductive organ functions, personal hygiene, and the risks of unsafe sexual behaviors. The interactive discussion also revealed students’ willingness to ask questions and share perspectives, reflecting stronger attitudes and confidence in maintaining reproductive health. In conclusion, the socialization of reproductive health at SMKN 1 Mempura successfully enhanced students’ knowledge and awareness. Despite limitations in terms of time allocation and long-term evaluation, this activity provided tangible benefits. Future efforts are recommended to develop sustainable programs supported by additional learning media and closer collaboration with the school.

Generation Z faces various challenges in determining their life direction amidst increasingly complex technological developments and social dynamics. As part of this generation, 12th-grade Vocational High School (SMK) students are in a crucial transition phase towards the world of work and further education, thus requiring the strengthening of a clear life purpose based on Islamic values. This community service activity aims to strengthen the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in shaping the life purpose of vocational high school students as an effort to create competitive Muslim youth. The community service activity was carried out at SMK Abdi Negara Tangerang, targeting 12th-grade students using an educational, participatory, and reflective approach. The implementation methods included interactive lectures, discussions, self-reflection, and mentoring linked to the values ​​of Islamic Religious Education. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, short interviews, and documentation, while data analysis used a qualitative descriptive approach. The results of the activity showed an increase in students' understanding of the importance of having a directed life purpose that is aligned with the values ​​of faith, morals, and social responsibility. In addition, students showed increased motivation, awareness of their potential, and readiness to face the future. This activity also strengthens the role of Islamic Religious Education as a means of character development and life orientation for students. Thus, this community service activity makes a positive contribution to shaping a young generation of Muslims with character, competitiveness, and a clear purpose in life.

This community service activity aims to improve students' understanding of the basic concepts of digital marketing and simple branding at Al-Ihsan Doglo Vocational School as a starting point for fostering an entrepreneurial spirit. This activity was carried out using a descriptive qualitative approach with methods of socialization, observation, interactive question and answer sessions, and documentation throughout the activity. The material provided included an introduction to information technology, digital marketing concepts, the use of social media as a promotional tool, and basic product branding principles that are easy for students to apply. The results of the activity showed an increase in students' understanding of digital marketing concepts, how to utilize social media productively, and an introduction to basic branding elements such as product names, logos, and brand images. The enthusiasm of the participants during the activity indicated that the socialization method used was effective in improving basic digital marketing literacy. This activity is expected to encourage students to be more creative, innovative, and ready to face the challenges of the business world in the digital era.

The rapid advancement of social media platforms has reshaped how people form and express their identities within digital environments, especially among university students. This research seeks to examine the extent to which personal use of social media influences the development of personal branding among students in the Digital Communication and Media Program at IPB University Vocational School. A quantitative research method with a survey approach was applied, involving 71 participants selected through random sampling techniques. Data collection was carried out using an online questionnaire employing a four-point Likert scale, and the data were analyzed through various statistical tests including validity and reliability assessments, classical assumption tests, Pearson correlation, simple linear regression, and determination coefficient using SPSS software. The results demonstrate that personal engagement with social media has a significant and positive relationship with students’ personal branding. Students who post consistently, produce high-quality content, and engage positively with audiences tend to project a stronger professional persona. Overall, the findings indicate that social media serves not only as a means of communication but also as an essential medium for developing one’s reputation and professional credibility in the digital age.

The seminar was attended by 62 participants who are active internet users in their daily lives. The seminar was conducted interactively through lectures, case studies, and training on steps to protect personal data, such as creating secure passwords and managing privacy on social media. The evaluation of the results showed a significant increase in participants' understanding, reaching an average of 97%. It is hoped that this will become a strong foundation of digital literacy for the younger generation in facing the challenges of the cyber world wisely and safely. This increased understanding is expected to be a strong foundation for Bina Patriot Vocational School students to develop their digital literacy, which in turn will help them to be able to face the challenges of the digital world wisely, safely, and responsibly.

The gap between vocational students’ competencies and the needs of the digital creative industry requires efforts to enhance students’ technological and creative skills. This community service program aimed to improve the digital competence and creativity of vocational students through Canva-based motion graphics training. The program was conducted at SMK Swasta Nur Azizi Tanjung Morawa using lectures, demonstrations, hands-on practice, and mentoring methods. The results showed that participants were able to understand bassic motion graphics concepts and produce simple animated works using Canva. Evaluation results indicated that more than 80% of participants were able to operate Canva’s basic animation features, and all participants successfully produced at least one motion graphics project, with an average competency improvement of approximately 30% compared to pre-training levels. Overall, the training proved effective in enhancing students’ creative skills, confidence, and readiness to meet the demands of the digital creative industry.

Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) is a fundamental competence required by vocational school students before entering workplace practice, particularly due to their high exposure to practical activities involving tools, machines, and work procedures with potential risks. This community service activity aimed to provide OSH training for students of SMK Negeri 3 Ogan Komering Ulu as part of their preparation for workplace practice. The activity was conducted using a seminar and case study approach involving 40 vocational students. The implementation stages included preliminary needs analysis, training delivery through structured material sessions and interactive discussions, and post-training evaluation using participant feedback instruments. The training materials covered formal OSH regulations, basic OSH principles, risk mitigation, personal protective equipment, and the relevance of OSH competencies in industrial work environments. The results indicated that participants demonstrated improved understanding of OSH obligations, awareness of workplace risk prevention, and readiness to apply OSH principles during practical learning activities. This community service activity contributes to strengthening students’ preparedness for workplace practice by fostering early awareness of occupational safety culture within the vocational education context.

Students of vocational high schools are required to write an internship report as a form of accountability for completing their industrial training. However, various language errors are still found in students’ PKL reports. This study aims to describe and analyze morphological errors in the PKL reports of vocational high school students majoring in Electronics Engineering. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach using document analysis. A total of 223 PKL reports were written by all students of SMK Negeri 3 Yogyakarta in 2025. The research data consisted of 25 PKL reports from students of the Electronics Engineering major selected through purposive sampling. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of identification, classification, description, quantification, and interpretation of morphological errors, with data validity ensured through theoretical triangulation. The results show that 286 morphological errors were identified, consisting of prefix errors (96), suffix errors (52), confix errors (41), reduplication errors (28), compound word errors (34), and base-form errors (35). Prefix errors were the most dominant type, accounting for 33.6% of all errors. These findings indicate that students still experience difficulties in applying affixation rules and forming standard words in formal written language. Such errors are influenced by interference from spoken language and the technical language used in the workplace. This study highlights the importance of structured and contextual morphology instruction to improve the quality of vocational students’ PKL report writing.

The low level of awareness among vocational high school (SMK) students to continue their education to higher education remains a major issue, particularly at SMK Mambail Futuh, Jenu District, Tuban Regency. Economic constraints, limited access to information, and an orientation toward immediate employment are dominant factors influencing students’ decisions. This community service activity aims to build students’ awareness and motivation regarding the importance of higher education as a long-term investment. The implementation method includes educational socialization, interactive discussions, the presentation of inspirational experiences, and the introduction of higher education admission pathways and financing schemes. The results show an improvement in students’ understanding of the benefits of higher education and a growing interest in pursuing further studies after graduation. This activity emphasizes that communicative and contextual educational approaches play a crucial role in encouraging positive mindset changes among SMK students toward higher education.
