Taxes are a primary source of state revenue and play a crucial role in supporting national development. However, increasing tax revenue still faces several challenges, particularly the lack of public awareness in fulfilling tax obligations. This study aims to examine the role of public awareness in improving taxpayer compliance and its impact on state revenue. The approach used in this research is qualitative, reviewing literature from various previous studies. Research findings indicate that tax awareness, understanding, and knowledge have a positive impact on taxpayer compliance. Other economic factors such as inflation, population, and economic growth also play a role in influencing tax revenue. However, external factors such as socialization and tax sanctions show inconsistent results. Consequently, increasing public awareness through tax education is a key strategy for sustainably improving the country's performance. In addition, transparent tax management and effective government communication are important factors in strengthening public trust and encouraging voluntary taxpayer compliance. Therefore, collaboration between the government and society is needed to create a sustainable and effective taxation system that supports national economic growth.

This study aims to explain the context of the Value Added Tax (VAT) increase policy and its relevance to the trade sector, while also presenting a framework for analyzing the tax burden. The data sources used consist of publications from the last four years, namely from 2021 to 2024. The observed phenomena are then analyzed using various secondary data obtained from scientific journals, official government reports, and other reliable sources relevant to the research topic, in order to provide a comprehensive overview. The conclusions are drawn based on empirical facts, the impacts of the tax increase, and the government’s mitigation efforts to ensure taxpayer compliance. The increase in the VAT rate represents an important step in fiscal reform aimed at increasing state revenue and reducing the budget deficit. This policy has significant potential to support the growth of the national budget, particularly in financing priority sectors such as infrastructure, education, and healthcare. However, the VAT increase may also affect consumers’ purchasing power and trade activities, thus requiring appropriate supporting policies to minimize negative impacts. Therefore, it is expected that this policy will contribute to sustainable economic stability and promote long-term national economic growth.

The implementation of regional autonomy and fiscal decentralization aims to enhance local governments' financial independence. However, fiscal imbalances between the central and regional governments led to the enactment of Law Number 1 of 2022 (UU HKPD), designed to strengthen regional fiscal capacity. This law introduces a piggyback tax system through a surcharge on the Motor Vehicle Tax. This study analyzes the dynamics of the piggyback tax system in Semarang City, focusing on the implications for taxpayer resistance and regional financial capacity. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, the study reviewed secondary data from regulatory documents, financial reports, and academic literature. The findings show that the shift towards centralistic fiscal policies and the increase in tax burdens have sparked significant taxpayer resistance. This resistance occurs both passively, due to poor regulatory literacy, and actively, through delays in tax payments. The resistance damages the psychological contract between the state and citizens, undermining local financial stability. It risks reducing local revenue, increasing tax collection costs, and limiting fiscal space for infrastructure development. The study suggests that Semarang’s government needs to adopt an adaptive governance framework with transparent tax allocation, digitalization of services, and persuasive policies to restore public trust and encourage compliance.

Public companies must maintain sustainability, as it is related to their value. A company's value can be measured by its share price; a higher market price indicates a company's financial performance and investment returns for investors. A phenomenon has been observed in the consumer non-cyclical sector, which experienced declines and fluctuations in value from 2020 to 2024. This phenomenon indicates that falling share prices lead to a decline in company value. This study aims to analyze the influence of Corporate Social Responsibility, Tax Avoidance, and Dividend Policy on Company Value in companies in the Consumer Non-Cyclical sector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2020-2024 period. The study sample consisted of 10 companies with 50 data observations selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data analysis was conducted using panel data regression with the help of EViews 12 software. The results of the study indicate that (1) Corporate Social Responsibility, Tax Avoidance, and Dividend Policy as a whole have an effect on Company Value, (2) Corporate Social Responsibility partially has no effect on Company Value, (3) Tax Avoidance partially has no effect on Company Value, (4) Dividend Policy partially has no effect on Company Value. These findings prove that Corporate Social Responsibility, Tax Avoidance, and Dividend Policy together are able to influence company value, even though each variable does not have an effect on company value.

This study aims to examine the extent to which taxpayers’ attitudes toward e-filing influence tax compliance, with the implementation of e-filing positioned as a mediating variable among employees of PT Selalu Cinta Indonesia (SCI) registered at the Primary Tax Office (KPP Pratama) of Salatiga City. The population comprised 18,244 employees, from which a sample of 100 respondents was selected using purposive sampling. Data were processed and analyzed using simple linear regression and path analysis. The results indicate that attitudes toward e-filing have a significant effect on taxpayer compliance (t = 7.708; sig. < 0.001) and also significantly influence the level of e-filing implementation (t = 7.644; sig. < 0.001). Furthermore, the implementation of e-filing has a significant impact on taxpayer compliance (t = 150.765; sig. < 0.001). Additional findings reveal that e-filing implementation acts as a partial mediator in the relationship between attitudes toward e-filing and taxpayer compliance, with a total effect value of 1.225. Overall, these findings reinforce the Theory of Planned Behavior framework, which posits that positive attitudes toward a system can foster the formation of specific behaviors, particularly in the context of tax compliance.

Taxpayer compliance is a key factor in optimizing state revenue, given that taxes are the primary source of funding for various national development programs. However, in practice, Indonesia still faces various challenges in improving taxpayer compliance, particularly among individual taxpayers, as indicated by the persistent gap between the number of registered taxpayers and those actively fulfilling their tax obligations. This situation indicates that increasing compliance does not solely depend on existing policies but is also influenced by various other internal and external factors. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing individual taxpayer compliance through a literature review approach, focusing on tax literacy, the use of information technology, and the implementation of the CoreTax Administration System (CTAS). The method used is to examine and synthesize various relevant previous studies to gain a more comprehensive understanding. The results of the study indicate that tax literacy plays a significant role in increasing taxpayer understanding and awareness, the use of information technology can provide convenience, efficiency, and accessibility in the tax process, while the implementation of CTAS contributes to increasing transparency and data integration within the tax administration system. Overall, these three aspects are interrelated and play a role in forming a more effective tax ecosystem in encouraging optimal and sustainable improvements in taxpayer compliance.

Akuntansi dan Ekonomi Pajak: Perspektif Global 2026 Asosiasi Riset Ekonomi dan Akuntansi Indonesia

The implementation of the Global Minimum Tax (GMT) through Pillar Two of the OECD/G20 marks a fundamental change in the international tax architecture, especially for developing countries such as Indonesia. One of the key instruments in Pillar Two is the Qualified Domestic Minimum Top-Up Tax (QDMTT), which provides an opportunity for source countries to retain the right to tax the profits of multinational companies with an effective tax rate below 15 percent. This study aims to analyze Indonesia's readiness to face the implementation of GMT through the QDMTT policy, focusing on regulatory aspects and tax administration capacity. The research method uses literature studies with a qualitative-descriptive approach through the analysis of policy documents, tax regulations, as well as academic literature and international reports. The results of the study show that Indonesia's readiness is still in the transition stage. In terms of regulation, Indonesia has shown an initial commitment through the issuance of PMK Number 136 of 2024, but the regulation still needs to be strengthened at a higher level of regulation for long-term legal certainty. From the administrative aspect, the main challenges include the complexity of calculating jurisdiction-based Effective Tax Rates, cross-border data management, as well as increasing the capacity of human resources and information technology infrastructure. This study concludes that the success of QDMTT implementation in Indonesia depends on strengthening regulations, increasing tax administration capacity, and reformulating sustainable investment policies.

Company value is an important indicator that reflects company performance and investor perceptions of future business prospects and sustainability. Various strategic decisions made by management, such as capital intensity management, investment decisions, and tax aggressiveness policies, play a significant role in shaping company value. This study aims to examine and analyze the effect of capital intensity, investment decisions, and tax aggressiveness on company value through a literature review approach. The method used is a literature review by examining various relevant national and international scientific articles obtained from academic databases such as Google Scholar, Publish or Perish, and SINTA. The results of the study show that capital intensity has a positive effect on company value because it reflects long-term production capacity and operational efficiency. Investment decisions have also been proven to have a positive effect on company value because they signal management's optimism about future growth prospects. Meanwhile, tax aggressiveness can increase company value through tax savings and increased cash flow, but it has the potential to cause reputational and governance risks if done excessively. Overall, the reviewed literature shows that these three variables have an impact on company value, with the caveat that optimal and transparent management is necessary. This study is expected to serve as a reference for further research and as a consideration for company management and investors in making strategic decisions.

This research seeks to examine the influence of taxpayer knowledge, taxpayer awareness, and tax sanctions on the compliance of motor vehicle taxpayers in Boyolali Regency. Motor vehicle tax constitutes a significant component of regional original revenue; however, the level of revenue realization has not yet fully met the established targets, indicating the presence of compliance-related challenges. The study adopts a quantitative explanatory design. Primary data were obtained by distributing questionnaires to 100 motor vehicle taxpayers registered at the Boyolali Samsat Office, with respondents selected through accidental sampling based on the Slovin formula. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS software, following preliminary tests of validity, reliability, and classical assumptions. The findings demonstrate that taxpayer knowledge and taxpayer awareness exert a positive and statistically significant effect on motor vehicle taxpayer compliance. In addition, tax sanctions are also shown to have a positive and significant impact and represent the most dominant factor influencing compliance. These results are consistent with Attribution Theory and the Theory of Planned Behavior, which highlight the importance of both internal and external determinants in shaping taxpayer compliance behavior. This study is expected to provide empirical support for research on regional tax compliance and offer practical insights for local governments in developing strategies to improve motor vehicle tax compliance.

This study aims to analyze the impact of the increase in Value Added Tax (VAT) and inflation on the sales revenue of PT Astra International Tbk during the 2022–2024 period. The research employs a quantitative approach using multiple regression analysis to examine the relationship between VAT, inflation, and sales revenue. Secondary data were obtained from the company’s financial statements, inflation data from Statistics Indonesia (BPS), and VAT rate information from the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP). The data were analyzed to identify how VAT and inflation influence the company’s revenue. The results indicate that both VAT and inflation have a significant effect on sales revenue, both simultaneously and partially. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.899 shows that 89.9% of the variation in sales revenue is explained by the changes in VAT and inflation rates. These findings suggest that VAT and inflation are important economic factors that should be considered by businesses, especially in the automotive industry, when planning strategies for revenue generation. Furthermore, the study emphasizes the critical need for companies to adapt to changing fiscal policies and macroeconomic conditions to maintain profitability and competitive advantage in a fluctuating economic environment.

Taxes are the main source of state revenue and play a vital role in national development and public welfare. However, their effectiveness is highly influenced by the level of transparency and accountability in their management. This study aims to analyze the implementation of transparency and accountability principles in Indonesia’s taxation system, identify the existing forms of transparency inequality, and assess their implications for the principles of good governance. The research employs a qualitative approach through an analysis of various laws, regulations, and recent studies related to tax management. The findings indicate that transparency inequality still occurs in several aspects, such as limited public access to information, uneven implementation of tax digitalization across regions, and a lack of openness in reporting tax incentives. These conditions directly affect government accountability, public trust, and fairness within the national taxation system. Legally, such inequalities contradict the principles of public information disclosure, the justice principle stated in Article 23A of the 1945 Constitution, and the principle of equality before the law. This study recommends strengthening tax transparency regulations, integrating a national digital taxation system, and increasing public participation in fiscal oversight to establish a fair, accountable, and law-based tax governance framework.

This study aims to analyze the implementation of corporate income tax (PPh) planning strategies at PT Anggada Indo Asia in order to achieve tax burden efficiency. The research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results show that the company has not fully implemented tax planning in accordance with tax regulations, as evidenced by fiscal corrections on several expense items that do not comply with tax rules. Based on these findings, the recommended tax planning strategies include improving compliance with tax regulations, preparing more comprehensive documentation, and transferring non-deductible expenses to forms that are fiscally recognized. With the implementation of this strategy, the company successfully saved tax expenses amounting to IDR 2,816,430, which equates to a 2.4% efficiency from the total tax liability. This result demonstrates that effective tax planning can be a legitimate tool to reduce tax burdens while also improving the efficiency of the company’s financial management. Therefore, applying good tax planning strategies not only contributes to tax savings but also helps the company achieve more optimal financial management in compliance with applicable tax regulations.
