This study aims to examine the influence of the Gini Ratio, Human Development Index (HDI), and Labor Force Participation Rate (LFPR) on the open unemployment rate in Lampung Province during the 2019–2023 period. The method used in the analysis is a fixed effect model approach with panel data regression, based on secondary data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Lampung Province. The results of the partial test (t-test) indicate that the three independent variables—the Gini ratio, HDI, and LFPR—do not have a significant effect individually on the open unemployment rate in the region. However, the adjusted coefficient of determination (adjusted R²) value of 88.95% indicates that the model can explain almost all the variation that occurs in the open unemployment rate. This shows that although these variables are statistically insignificant in the model, theoretically they still have an important role in explaining unemployment dynamics in Lampung, along with other factors not yet included in the model. This research provides a strong basis for further analysis in formulating unemployment reduction policies, particularly in regions with economic and social characteristics such as Lampung. Recommendations from this study point to the need for a more comprehensive policy approach that considers other macroeconomic variables such as investment, industrial sector growth, and the quality of education and job training to effectively and sustainably reduce unemployment at the regional level.

This study aims to analyze the effect of unemployment rate and health on the Human Development Index (HDI) in Lampung. This study uses a quantitative method with multiple regression analysis to test the effect of independent variables (unemployment rate and health) on the dependent variable (HDI). The results of the study indicate that the unemployment rate has a significant positive effect on the HDI, where an increase in unemployment has the potential to increase the HDI figure. On the other hand, the health variable does not show a significant effect on the HDI, indicating that although the health program is running, other factors such as the economy and education are more dominant in determining the HDI. Simultaneously, unemployment and health contribute to changes in the HDI, but the dominance of unemployment appears stronger.

This study aims to examine the influence of the number of poor people, average years of schooling, and labor force participation rate on the open unemployment rate (OUR) in Maluku Province from 2017 to 2023. The study uses panel data from 11 districts/cities and applies a regression model using a fixed effect approach. The results show that the average years of schooling have a positive and significant effect on the open unemployment rate. This implies that the longer an individual pursues education, the higher the likelihood of unemployment, as they tend to have higher job expectations and are less willing to accept available jobs. Meanwhile, the labor force participation rate has a negative and significant effect, indicating that a higher number of actively working individuals leads to a lower unemployment rate. The number of poor people does not have a significant effect on unemployment. Overall, the model explains approximately 53.5% of the variation in the open unemployment rate. These findings indicate that education and labor participation are crucial factors in reducing unemployment, but must be supported by the availability of suitable employment opportunities.

This research aims to examine how the predicted years in school and the unemployment rate influence labor force participation (TPAK) in Aceh Province. Across several cities and communities in Aceh, it employs secondary panel data from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS).  Panel regression analysis is done using the Random Effect Model (REM) approach in this study. The results show that TPAK is negatively and substantially affected by the unemployment rate, while the projected years of schooling have no significant statistical impact. TPAK changes are generally only marginally affected by either of these causes. The coefficient of determination reveals that the model explains only 8. 3% of the TPAK swings. Although education and unemployment are components of labor market behavior, other, more important variables are more crucial in influencing labor force participation in Aceh, as these results suggest.

This study investigates the impact of household consumption and investment on the open unemployment rate in West Kalimantan over both short and long terms. Using time series data from 1995–2024 and employing the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) in EViews 12, results show all variables become stationary after first differencing. Johansen cointegration confirms a long-run equilibrium relationship. VECM findings reveal that investment significantly increases unemployment in the long run, while household consumption has no significant effect. In the short term, a significant error correction mechanism exists, indicating adjustment toward long-run equilibrium. Diagnostic tests confirm model validity through absence of autocorrelation and normally distributed residuals. These results highlight the need for more targeted policies to reduce unemployment.

This research aims to analyze the trade-off between unemployment and inflation, as well as government policies from an Islamic perspective. Inflation and unemployment issues remain primary challenges for governments in maintaining economic stability. Unlike conventional economic perspectives that accept the trade-off between these two variables, Islamic economics offers a more integrative and holistic approach. Using a literature review method, this study analyzes various literature related to the relationship between unemployment and inflation from both conventional and Islamic economic perspectives. Research findings reveal that in conventional economics, the Phillips Curve depicts a trade-off between unemployment and inflation in the short term, though its validity is questioned in the long term. In contrast, from an Islamic economic perspective, there is no dichotomy between reducing unemployment and controlling inflation, as both can be addressed simultaneously through a just economic system aligned with Sharia principles. Islamic economics offers solutions through strengthening the real sector, profit-sharing financial systems, and implementing zakat, infaq, and waqf instruments that can create employment without generating inflationary pressures. This research provides insights into government policies that align with Sharia values in addressing current macroeconomic challenges.

This study aims to analyze the tradeoff relationship between inflation and unemployment in Indonesia using the Phillips Curve approach. This phenomenon is a central focus in macroeconomics as both indicators are closely linked and directly impact national economic stability. Using data from 2019 to 2024, this study examines the dynamics of inflation and unemployment, as well as their implications for monetary and fiscal policy. The analysis shows that although there are indications of a tradeoff pattern as described by the Phillips Curve, structural and global factors also influence this relationship. Monetary and fiscal policies during crisis, recovery, and stabilization periods play a crucial role in managing the balance between inflation and unemployment.

The human development index is a way to assess the extent of the welfare of society in an area. Human development in Lampung Province is ranked lowest among other provinces on the island of Sumatra with a percentage of 70.45% in 2022. Departing from the geographical context of Lampung Province which is a vital route for economic activity between the islands of Java and Sumatra, this province has the potential to become a center distribution of goods and services at the national level. It should be able to increase employment and income in Lampung Province. So, it can reduce poverty and reduce unemployment. However, in reality, Lampung Province is still far behind other provinces on the island of Sumatra. The formulation of the problem in this research is how poverty and unemployment influence the human development index in Lampung Province. This research uses a quantitative type of research with a descriptive approach using panel data with a fixed effect model approach. The population in this research is data from the Human Development Index contained in the Central Statistics Agency of Lampung Province. According to the research results, X1 has a significant negative effect, X2 has no significant effect. The results of statistical tests state that the value of Prob. (F-statistic) is 0.000000. This means 0.000000<0.05, so it can be concluded that the independent variable (X) has a significant effect on the dependent variable (Y) simultaneously (simultaneously). Based on the results of the statistical tests carried out, an R-squared value of 0.984344 was obtained. It can be concluded that the independent variable has an influence on the dependent variable of 98%, while 2% is influenced by other variables outside the model.

Unemployment remains a structural problem in Indonesia with an open unemployment rate reaching 4.91% (BPS, 2024). This study aims to examine the concept of kasb (earning a living) from the perspective of Imam Al-Syaibani and its relevance in the socio-economic context of contemporary Indonesia. The method used is a qualitative literature study with a descriptive-analytical approach, collecting and analyzing classical to contemporary literature related to Al-Syaibani's thoughts and the issue of unemployment. The results of the study show that the concept of kasb emphasizes work as worship that must be carried out in a halal manner, oriented towards a balance between individual (self-interest) and social (public-interest) interests. Al-Syaibani classifies economic endeavors into four types: ijarah (rent), tijarah (trade), zaira'ah (agriculture), and sina'ah (industry), with agriculture as the main sector that brings blessings. This concept is relevant to improving work ethic, productivity, and social responsibility, so that it can be a theoretical and practical solution in reducing unemployment. The integration of spiritual values in economic activities, such as the intention of worship and fair distribution of wealth, can encourage collective welfare. This study contributes to the development of Islamic economics by offering a holistic perspective that combines moral and technical dimensions in overcoming unemployment

This study aims to analyze the influence of the Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP), Poverty Rate (TK), and Unemployment Rate (TPT) on the Human Development Index (HDI) in five provinces of Indonesia categorized as having moderate HDI from 2014 to 2023. The research employs a panel data regression method using the Fixed Effect Model (FEM) approach to capture variations across regions and time. The findings reveal that the UMP has a positive and significant impact on HDI, indicating that higher minimum wages contribute to improvements in human development. In contrast, the TPT negatively and significantly affects HDI, suggesting that higher unemployment rates hinder human development progress. Meanwhile, the TK variable shows no significant effect on HDI, implying that changes in poverty rates during the study period did not directly influence human development levels in these provinces.Furthermore, the results of the regression analysis show that UMP, TK, and TPT simultaneously have a significant impact on HDI, with an overall contribution of 98.65%. The remaining 1.35% is attributed to other factors not included in the research model. These results highlight the importance of policies aimed at increasing minimum wages and reducing unemployment to enhance community welfare and accelerate human development in provinces with moderate HDI. Policymakers are encouraged to design comprehensive strategies that prioritize employment creation and wage improvements as key levers for boosting human development outcomes across regions.
