The Asahan River in North Sumatra holds significant potential as an ecotourism destination for whitewater rafting, featuring Class IV-V+ rapids that attract both domestic and international tourists. This study aims to analyze the potential and development strategies for ecotourism in the Asahan River using the Ecotourism Opportunity Spectrum (ECOS) approach with the addition of a socio-economic sustainability variable. This approach evaluates seven key components: accessibility, attractions, infrastructure, social interaction, skill and knowledge levels, related resources, and visitor impact. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation, and analyzed using a descriptive qualitative method. The results indicate that the Asahan River is classified as an Eco Specialist, with high natural appeal but requiring improvements in accessibility and community participation. Socio-economic sustainability assessments reveal that economic benefits are not evenly distributed, and local community involvement in tourism management remains low. Proposed strategies include improving infrastructure, training local communities, digital promotion, and strengthening stakeholder collaboration to establish a sustainable tourism destination.

Solar Power Plant is a photovoltaic system to convert electromagnetic energy from sunlight into electrical energy. This solar power plant is one of the recommended solutions for fulfilling electricity needs in remote rural areas where the PLN electricity network does not enter and has abundant sunlight and fuel is difficult to obtain. Based on data from the Global Solar Atlas, Lembung Mangrove Ecotourism, Galis, Pamekasan Regency has a sunlight potential of 4,603 kWh/m² per day. Therefore, it is unfortunate if this potential is not optimally utilised to build an off-grid solar power plant. The purpose of the research is to assess the feasibility of installing PLTS in Lembung Mangrove Ecotourism in terms of technical, economic, and investment feasibility analysis. From the research results, to meet the electricity demand of 15,055 kWh, it needs 12 200 Wp PV modules assembled in 6 series 2 parallel, 8 12V 200Ah batteries with 4 series 2 parallel, and 1 3 kW hybrid inverter are needed. From the simulation results, the estimated energy that can be produced is 35 kWh with a performance of the system is 61.42%. In terms of investment, the initial capital required is Rp89,954,000 so that the NPV value is obtained at Rp1,725,979, PI is 1.01, and PBP is estimated to fall in year 22 month 11.

Mangroves are plants that live in coastal areas which have great benefits, namely as abrasion barriers, wave breakers, as a food source for marine biota, absorbing carbon dioxide, and producing oxygen. Sicanang Mangrove Ecotourism is a mangrove forest that is open to the public to visit this ecotourism. The location is in Belawan Sicanang Village, Medan Belawan District, Medan City. Data collection techniques were used to obtain primary data and secondary data through observation, interviews and literature study. Research data was analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis. The research results show that since 2020, this ecotourism has been closed and is not being maintained to this day. The cause of the damage to ecotourism is due to the local community's lack of understanding about developing mangrove ecotourism in the area, such as cutting down mangrove trees for wood as furniture material. This causes damage to the mangrove ecosystem and the quantity of mangrove trees decreases. It was concluded that the damage was caused by a lack of attention to repairs from the government and management awareness from the local community.
