Islamic Financial Institutions play a vital role in strengthening the Islamic economy in Aceh, particularly through financing micro businesses. Article 14 of Qanun Aceh Number 11 of 2018 sets a target of 40% profit-sharing-based financing for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) by 2024. However, the realization of financing with profit-sharing contracts is still low. This study aims to examine the implementation of Qanun Number 11 of 2018 in facilitating micro business financing in Aceh, identify obstacles in its implementation, and analyze the roles of the government, society, and the private sector in supporting this process. The study uses an empirical juridical method, collecting data through literature studies, interviews, and observations. Data analysis is conducted qualitatively with a prescriptive analytical approach. Challenges to financing distribution include business actors not meeting credit quality assessments and prudential banking standards, causing banks to implement risk management strategies to prevent non-performing loans. Additionally, low financial literacy among business actors remains a significant barrier. The local government supports micro business financing by establishing the Technical Implementation Unit of the Integrated Business Service Office, providing financial assistance, and introducing the draft Qanun of Aceh Sharia Financing Guarantee. Bank Aceh Syariah offers training and coaching for MSMEs, while Bank Syariah Indonesia aids MSMEs through the MSME Center and the Muslim Entrepreneur program. Improving financial literacy is essential for business development. The study recommends that the Aceh Government strengthen the implementation of Qanun Sharia Financial Institutions, increase profit-sharing-based MSME financing, and promote financial literacy.

This article analyzes the fundamental differences between the mechanisms of fund collection and fund distribution in Islamic banks and conventional banks in Indonesia, based on DSN-MUI Fatwas and banking regulations. In general, both types of banks serve the same function—to collect and distribute funds to support economic activities. However, the main distinction lies in their operational principles. Conventional banks operate using a fixed interest system, establishing a creditor–debtor relationship. In contrast, Islamic banks operate based on Sharia principles that prohibit riba (usury). In fund collection, conventional banks use interest-based savings and deposit products, while Islamic banks apply Wadiah (safekeeping) and Mudharabah (profit-sharing investment) contracts. Regarding fund distribution, conventional banks provide interest-bearing loans, whereas Islamic banks offer financing through Sharia contracts such as Murabahah (cost-plus sale), Musyarakah (partnership), Mudharabah (profit-sharing), and Ijarah (leasing), emphasizing cooperation and risk-sharing. Although Islamic banking is regulated under Law No. 21 of 2008 and DSN-MUI Fatwas, it still faces several challenges, including the dominance of Murabahah financing and the low level of public literacy regarding Islamic financial systems.

This study investigates the influence of employing Atta Halilintar as a brand ambassador on the improvement of products and services at Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) through the lens of business communication. The research employs a quantitative approach with data collected via questionnaires from 100 respondents, both BSI customers and non-customers. Respondents assessed seven key variables: awareness, image, relevance, product knowledge, purchase intention, word of mouth, and engagement. The findings reveal that the brand ambassador has a moderate impact on strengthening BSI’s products and services, with average scores falling within the “fair” range of 2.76–3.1 on a four-point Likert scale. Awareness recorded the highest score of 3.1, reflecting the effectiveness of Atta Halilintar in enhancing brand recognition among the younger generation. Conversely, purchase intention received the lowest score of 2.76, suggesting that although awareness and positive image improved, they have not yet translated into higher conversion rates or actual product usage. These results highlight that the presence of a brand ambassador primarily boosts visibility and engagement but requires complementary strategies such as product education, interactive campaigns, and community-based marketing to achieve stronger customer adoption. Thus, the study underscores the importance of integrating brand ambassador initiatives with broader business communication strategies to maximize both awareness and transactional outcomes in Islamic banking.

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the murabahah contract in the Home Ownership Credit (KPR) financing product at Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) Cimahi Branch Office. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with data collection through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results show that the KPR financing mechanism at BSI Cimahi Branch Office has been running in accordance with sharia principles established by the National Sharia Council (DSN-MUI). The process starts from customer application, wakalah contract, to the implementation of the murabahah contract with the principle of transparency of the principal price and profit margin agreed in advance and fixed throughout the financing tenor. The implementation of this system provides payment certainty for customers and protects against the risk of interest rate fluctuations. In terms of performance, Murabahah KPR financing at BSI Cimahi Branch Office has contributed significantly to the financing portfolio with a low level of Non-Performing Financing (NPF) and positive growth every year. However, challenges still exist in the amount of the down payment and the attachment of a fixed margin that can be a burden for customers with limited financial capabilities. Overall, the murabahah contract has proven to be an effective, transparent, and sharia-compliant instrument in supporting home ownership for the Muslim community in Indonesia.

Prosiding Seminar Nasional Ilmu Manajemen Kewirausahaan dan Bisnis 2025 Asosiasi Riset Ilmu Manajemen Kewirausahaan dan Bisnis Indonesia

Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) faces challenges in optimizing financial performance and market valuation following the merger process in 2021. This study aims to analyze the influence of Third Party Funds, liquidity, and Islamicity Performance Index on BSI stock prices during the period 2021-2025. The research employs multiple linear regression analysis method using monthly data from BSI financial reports and stock price data from the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The results indicate that Third Party Funds have a negative but non-significant effect on BSI stock prices, suggesting that increases in Third Party Funds do not automatically enhance stock valuation as investors are concerned about the profit-sharing burden that must be paid. Liquidity has a positive and significant effect on stock prices, demonstrating that fund distribution efficiency is the primary factor evaluated by investors. The Islamicity Performance Index has a negative and significant effect on stock prices, confirming that investors interpret high sharia compliance indices as reducing profitability for shareholders. This study confirms that investors in evaluating Bank Syariah Indonesia stocks prioritize operational efficiency over operational scale or sharia compliance orientation.

Kajian Ekonomi dan Akuntansi Terapan 2025 Asosiasi Riset Ekonomi dan Akuntansi Indonesia

This study investigates the differences in customer satisfaction levels toward the services of Bank Syariah Indonesia by employing a nonparametric statistical approach. Customer satisfaction is a critical benchmark in Islamic banking, as it not only reflects the quality of services but also the extent to which sharia compliance is embedded in financial practices. Given that satisfaction data are generally ordinal and may not fulfill the assumptions of normal distribution, nonparametric methods such as the Kruskal-Wallis and Mann-Whitney tests were selected as the primary analytical tools. This research adopts a qualitative library-based method by reviewing relevant literature, scientific articles, and previous empirical studies to construct a comprehensive understanding of customer satisfaction measurement within Islamic banking. The findings highlight that variations in satisfaction are influenced by multiple factors, including service speed, staff friendliness, accessibility of digital platforms, and clarity of sharia principles applied in daily operations. Results further suggest that demographic characteristics and service usage frequency significantly shape satisfaction differences across customer groups. Theoretically, this study enriches the body of knowledge on the application of nonparametric statistics in Islamic banking research, while practically, it provides actionable insights for Bank Syariah Indonesia in formulating adaptive service strategies. These contributions are expected to assist the bank in strengthening customer loyalty, enhancing competitiveness, and sustaining growth in the dynamic modern banking industry. Theoretically, this study enriches the body of knowledge on the application of nonparametric statistics in Islamic banking research, while practically, it provides actionable insights for Bank Syariah Indonesia in formulating adaptive service strategies. This study aims to analyze the financial performance differences of Bank Syariah Indonesia before and after the merger based on three key ratios: Financing to Deposit Ratio (FDR), Operational Expenses to Operating Income (BOPO), and Return on Assets (ROA). A comparative quantitative approach was applied using financial statement data from the 2017–2024 period, analyzed with normality tests and paired sample t-tests. The normality test results indicate that all data are normally distributed. The paired sample t-test reveals no significant difference in the FDR ratio before and after the merger, while significant differences are found in BOPO and ROA. These findings indicate that the merger affected the efficiency and profitability of the bank, but not directly the effectiveness of fund distribution. The study implies that Bank Syariah Indonesia needs to strengthen operational efficiency and asset management post-merger. Future researchers are encouraged to include non-financial variables and apply qualitative approaches to gain more comprehensive insights.

The development of the sharia financial system is marked by the establishment of various sharia institutions and the issuance of various sharia-based financial instruments. One of the most prominent institutions is sharia banks, which not only serve as financial intermediaries that collect and distribute funds to the community but also provide various services, including pawning. Bank Syariah Indonesia is one of the leading banks offering a gold pawn product, which has been considered successful due to its continuous growth every year. Sharia gold pawn financing is a product that channels funds in the form of loans, based on the qard principle, where gold serves as collateral for the customer’s money. The process involves several stages that must be followed by both the bank and the customer. Bank Syariah Indonesia has managed to set relatively low rental fees for its gold pawn products compared to other financial institutions, making it an attractive option for customers in need of short-term financing. In this community service activity, the aim is to provide a detailed explanation of the mechanism behind the gold pawning product at Bank Syariah Indonesia. By doing so, the public is expected to become more familiar with the services, operations, and benefits offered by sharia banks, particularly in the context of gold pawn financing. This initiative aims to increase the understanding and awareness of the public about the advantages of using sharia-based financial products, as well as highlight the role of such services in supporting the financial needs of individuals while adhering to Islamic principles. Through this outreach, it is hoped that more people will consider utilizing these financial services, thus contributing to the broader development of sharia finance

This study aims to analyze customer satisfaction with the Byond by BSI service at PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk KCP Palembang KM 6, focusing on the influence of service quality and security. The research population consisted of 2,800 customers, with a sample of 97 respondents selected through purposive sampling. A quantitative approach was employed, using a structured questionnaire as the primary data collection instrument. The collected data were analyzed using multiple linear regression, accompanied by instrument testing, classical assumption testing, as well as t-test, F-test, and the coefficient of determination (R²). The findings reveal that both service quality and security have a significant impact on customer satisfaction, both partially and simultaneously. The results indicate that customer satisfaction is not only determined by responsive, accurate, and accessible service quality but is also strongly influenced by the reliability of the security system provided. The regression coefficient shows that security has the most dominant effect, with a value of 0.427, which is higher than the influence of service quality. This highlights that the sense of safety in conducting digital transactions is the primary concern for customers when using Byond by BSI services. The implications of this study emphasize the importance for banks to continuously improve the quality of digital services, particularly in terms of responsiveness, speed of access, and ease of use of the application. In addition, strengthening digital security mechanisms, including customer data protection, transaction encryption, and early detection of potential cyber threats, is crucial in building and maintaining customer trust. The study further underlines the need for continuous improvement in both service quality and security systems as a key strategy to address the challenges of digital banking transformation in an increasingly competitive environment. Therefore, this research contributes to the development of Islamic banking management strategies that focus on customer satisfaction and loyalty in the digital era.

This study aims to compare the financial performance of Islamic banks and conventional banks operating in Jambi Province during the 2021–2023 period. The approach used is comparative quantitative, with descriptive analysis and independent sample t-tests. Five key financial ratios were analyzed in this study: Return on Assets (ROA), Return on Equity (ROE), Operating Expenses to Operating Income (BOPO), Net Interest Margin (NIM), and Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR). Data were obtained from the quarterly financial reports of each sample bank, thus reflecting actual financial performance on a periodic and ongoing basis. The analysis shows significant differences in three key financial ratios: ROA, ROE, and BOPO. Conventional banks demonstrate higher levels of profitability and operational efficiency than Islamic banks. High ROA and ROE values reflect the effectiveness of conventional banks in generating profits from their assets and capital. Furthermore, lower BOPO ratios in conventional banks indicate a better ability to control operating costs. In contrast, no significant differences were found in the NIM and LDR ratios, indicating equality between the two types of banks in generating interest margins and disbursing credit or financing to customers. This finding has important implications for the development of the Islamic banking sector to be more competitive, particularly in terms of efficiency and profitability. Islamic banks are expected to improve their asset and operational management strategies to increase competitiveness amidst the dual banking system in Indonesia. This research also contributes to regulators in formulating policies that support the growth of Islamic banks in the regions. For academics and practitioners, this study broadens understanding of the dynamics of local banking financial performance and serves as a reference for further research on the effectiveness of the dual banking system in the regional context.

This study aims to deeply analyze the effect of brand association, product quality, and customer loyalty on saving decisions at Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) KC Gajah Mada, Palu City. With a focus on customer behavior, this research also seeks to understand how these three factors interact with each other and contribute to shaping savings decisions at Islamic banks. The method used in this research is a quantitative approach with a survey design to obtain objective and measurable data. The research sample consisted of 98 respondents selected by purposive sampling, namely with certain criteria relevant to the research objectives. The results showed that the brand association variable had no significant effect on saving decisions at Bank Syariah Indonesia KC Gajah Mada, Palu City. In contrast, the variables of product quality and customer loyalty are proven to have a significant influence on saving decisions. Simultaneously, the three variables together have a significant influence on saving decisions. This is reinforced by the results of the F test which shows the calculated F value of 69.100, which is greater than the F table of 3.94, with a significance level of 0.001, which means that the regression model used is feasible and these variables contribute significantly in explaining the customer's saving decision. The implication of this research for BSI is to strengthen brand association and improve product quality and pay attention to customer loyalty. For students, this research can be a reference in Islamic banking studies, and for future researchers it is recommended to add other variables to enrich the analysis.
