The work of health workers is a key factor in ensuring the quality and sustainability of primary health services. However, high work demands and limited resources have the potential to weaken work involvement if they are not balanced with a perception of work meaning and adequate psychological capacity. This study aims to analyze the effect of job meaningfulness on work engagement of health workers through psychological capital as a mediating variable at the Mokoau Health Center, Kendari City, Southeast Sulawesi. This study used a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. All health workers at the Mokoau Health Center as many as 70 people were used as research samples using the total sampling method. Data was collected through a structured questionnaire and analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with the help of SmartPLS version 4.0. The results of the analysis showed that job meaningfulness had a positive and significant effect on psychological capital (β = 0.698; p < 0.05). Psychological capital was also shown to have a positive and significant effect on work engagement (β = 0.691; p < 0.05). Furthermore, job meaningfulness had a significant indirect effect on work engagement through psychological capital (β = 0.482; p < 0.05), which shows the mediating role of psychological capital in the relationship. Job meaningfulness not only contributes directly to strengthening psychological capital, but also indirectly increases work engagement of health workers. Psychological capital plays a role as the main psychological mechanism that translates the meaning of work into higher work attachment. These findings affirm the importance of a human resource management strategy that focuses on strengthening the meaning of work and psychological capital to increase the work involvement of health workers in primary health care facilities.

Compliance in paying contributions is an important factor in ensuring the sustainability of the National Health Insurance (JKN) program, especially in the Non-Wage Workers (PBPU) segment who make payments independently. However, the level of compliance of PBPU participants in Jakarta City is still low, as indicated by the high rate of contribution arrears and the large number of deactivated memberships. This study aims to analyze the factors that influence compliance in paying National Health Insurance (JKN) contributions in the Non-Wage Workers (PBPU) segment in Jakarta City in 2025. The research design used was quantitative with a cross-sectional approach, involving 180 respondents. Bivariate analysis using the Chi-Square test showed that there was a significant relationship between perception and compliance (p = 0.002), income with compliance (p = 0.046), and motivation with compliance (p = 0.000). However, there was no significant relationship between knowledge (p = 0.291) and sanctions (p = 0.103) on compliance in paying contributions. These findings indicate that psychological and economic aspects have a strong influence on driving compliance with JKN premiums. Therefore, efforts to improve compliance need to focus on enhancing positive perceptions, internal motivation, and sustainable income for participants. Perception is the most dominant factor influencing compliance among PBPU participants. Strategies to increase education and improve services are needed to boost compliance and ensure the sustainability of the JKN program.

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of waste management in preventing fires at the Alak Landfill (TPA) in Kupang City using a qualitative case study approach. Data was collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving officials from the Environmental and Sanitation Office, landfill workers, waste pickers, and surrounding communities. The findings indicate that the effectiveness of waste management remains low. In terms of input, financial resources, infrastructure, and human resources are insufficient to support optimal operations. During the process stage, waste collection and transportation are hindered by low public compliance, limited vehicles, and minimal waste segregation. Final waste processing still relies on the open dumping method, which increases waste accumulation, methane generation, and fire risks. In terms of output, various mitigation efforts have not successfully reduced the recurring fire incidents due to limited facilities, inadequate compaction, and the absence of gas monitoring systems. The results highlight the need for increased budget allocation, improved facilities, enhanced human resource capacity, and the implementation of safer and more sustainable waste management methods to reduce fire risks at the Alak Landfill.

The development and revitalization of the Sungai Asam drainage system in Jambi City face serious problems in the form of river sedimentation and limited channel capacity, which trigger flooding. These conditions necessitated a design change for bank protection from revetment to a retaining wall (Dinding Penahan Tanah/DPT) in the SA223 to SA228 segment. This study aims to analyze the construction cost and implementation duration of the DPT resulting from the design change. The theoretical framework covers retaining wall concepts, cost estimation (Bill of Quantities), and construction project scheduling. A descriptive-analytical method was applied using secondary data, including design drawings, work volumes, the 2025 Water Resources and Human Settlements Unit Price Analysis (AHSP), the 2025 Jambi Provincial Standard Unit Prices, and time analysis using the S-Curve and Critical Path Method (CPM). The results indicate that the total construction cost of the DPT in the SA223–SA228 segment is IDR 9.524.259.092,02, while the project duration is determined based on the critical path identified through CPM analysis. The discussion confirms that the design change significantly affects work complexity, construction costs, and schedule adjustments. The study concludes that systematic and measurable cost and time analyses are essential as a technical basis for decision-making in river revitalization projects to ensure effectiveness, efficiency, and the sustainability of flood control infrastructure.

This study aims to evaluate the level of heavy metal pollution and the potential ecological and human health risks in the waters of Selangan, Bontang City. The research focuses on analyzing the concentrations of iron (Fe) and mercury (Hg) in sediment, considering that both elements are toxic, persistent, and capable of bioaccumulating within the food chain. The study was conducted over six months, from January to June 2023, at four sampling stations representing the environmental conditions of Selangan waters. The methodology included sediment sampling, sample preparation through drying and grinding, and laboratory analysis using Inductively Coupled Plasma–Optical Emission Spectrometry (ICP-OES) to determine Fe concentrations. The results were then compared with quality standards established by the Washington Annotated Code 173-204-320 and Indonesia’s National Agency of Drug and Food Control (BPOM) Regulation No. 5 of 2018. The findings indicate the presence of heavy metal contamination across all sampling stations. Fe concentrations ranged from 2.35 mg to 6.308 mg, significantly exceeding the permissible limit of 0.3 mg/L. Meanwhile, Hg concentrations ranged from 0.015 mg to 0.028 mg, also surpassing the standard threshold of 0.001 mg/L. These results clearly demonstrate heavy metal pollution in the Selangan waters, posing potential threats to marine ecosystem health and coastal communities. Regular monitoring and mitigation measures are urgently recommended to prevent further environmental degradation.

This study aims to analyze the opportunities, threats, strengths, and weaknesses of Arch Barbershop, a modern barbershop in Maumere City. The study was conducted using a descriptive approach through observation of the business environment, competitor analysis, and identification of local consumer preferences. The analysis shows that Arch Barbershop has promising opportunities due to the increasing trend of grooming among teenagers and young adults, and the lack of barbershops offering modern and consistent service concepts in the area. However, this business also faces threats in the form of competition from new barbershops, rapidly changing consumer preferences, and dependence on barber skills as the spearhead of service quality. Furthermore, internal weaknesses such as limited space, inflexible operating hours, and a less than optimal variety of services pose challenges to business development. By understanding these opportunities, threats, strengths, and weaknesses, Arch Barbershop can formulate a more effective development strategy to increase its competitiveness and business sustainability in Maumere City.

Collaborative governance is a decision-making approach that brings together multiple stakeholders to work toward a shared objective. This study aims to describe the collaborative governance process in poverty alleviation through the Tasik Bageur Program in Tasikmalaya City. Poverty in the city is a multidimensional issue that affects social, economic, and environmental aspects of community life. In response, the Tasikmalaya City Government initiated this program as a collaborative effort involving government institutions, private sector actors, and academic organizations. The program is implemented every Wednesday and is designed to foster cooperation and mutual support in addressing poverty-related needs.Although the program has succeeded in attracting participation from several private and academic actors, this study identifies a major challenge: the number of poor residents remains significantly higher than the number of collaborating partners. This imbalance limits the amount and diversity of assistance provided and reduces the program’s overall effectiveness. This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collected through observations, interviews, and document analysis. The findings indicate that the collaborative process within the Tasik Bageur Program has not yet reached optimal implementation. Limited understanding and low awareness among private-sector actors hinder broader participation. As a result, the gap between community needs and the available collaborative resources remains substantial.

The shift in economic structure from a reliance on traditional agriculture to modern industrialization has yielded various competitive advantages for a region. The presence of leading sectors at the local level is a strong indicator of increased added value and high productivity, fueled by a healthy competitive climate among business actors. This phenomenon is closely related to the characteristics of the industrial sector, which possesses very strong forward and backward linkages, making it a primary driver of national economic growth. Progress in the manufacturing sector is not merely a measure of economic success but also serves as a driver of fiscal stability through massive employment absorption and increased foreign exchange earnings. Industrial growth is considered highly strategic because it holds significant potential for future expansion through technological innovation and production efficiency. This condition makes industrial cluster development an instrument for driving sustainable economic growth in Indonesia, while simultaneously strengthening the competitiveness of local products in the global market through the integration of a more organized production system.
