The promotion and marketing efforts by the Tourism Office of Karimun Regency aim to introduce and effectively promote local tourist destinations to both domestic and international visitors. According to a previous study by Andriani (2020), the development of tourist sites in Karimun Regency has not yet been fully realized by the local government. This research aims to reexamine and optimize Karimun's tourism potential through programs implemented by the Tourism Office, supporting local economic changes. This study uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach, gathering data through interviews with informants, field notes, and relevant official documents. It focuses on examining the promotion strategies carried out by the Tourism Office to increase tourist visits. Based on Kooten's theory, there are four strategic indicators: organizational strategy, program organization, resource support strategy, and institutional strategy. The research results show that all strategic indicators have been implemented well in accordance with funding from the center, providing a positive impact on the development of tourist destinations and increasing the number of tourists who come to visit tourist attractions in Karimun district. However, if funding is not in accordance with the annual plan, the program that has been prepared by the marketing and promotion division will have an impact, hampering efforts to increase tourist visits from both inside and outside Karimun Regency.

One critical component in the rapidly expanding halal tourism industry is the existence of hotels catering to the needs of Muslim travelers, known as Sharia-compliant hotels. Operating within the framework of Islamic law, these hotels bear the responsibility of managing funds in accordance with Sharia principles. The management of non-halal funds within such establishments presents a complex challenge that necessitates careful consideration to ensure compliance with Islamic values while addressing financial and social aspects. This study aims to provide insights into strategies for managing non-halal funds in Sharia-compliant hotels within the framework of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and from the perspective of Islamic economic law. Using a qualitative research approach with descriptive analysis through a literature review, the findings indicate that the legal status of non-halal funds may be permissible if allocated for general public welfare. Recommended management strategies include adherence to the PSAK 101 accounting standard and the application of Tafriq Shafqah principles through CSR initiatives. Non-halal funds are optimally distributed for social welfare (maslahah wa tashrif al-‘ammah) such as empowering local communities through education and training, supporting zakat and charity programs, promoting sustainable environmental management, ensuring fair employment opportunities, fostering local economic development, and enhancing public education and awareness. The Asahan River in North Sumatra holds significant potential as an ecotourism destination for whitewater rafting, featuring Class IV-V+ rapids that attract both domestic and international tourists. This study aims to analyze the potential and development strategies for ecotourism in the Asahan River using the Ecotourism Opportunity Spectrum (ECOS) approach with the addition of a socio-economic sustainability variable. This approach evaluates seven key components: accessibility, attractions, infrastructure, social interaction, skill and knowledge levels, related resources, and visitor impact. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation, and analyzed using a descriptive qualitative method. The results indicate that the Asahan River is classified as an Eco Specialist, with high natural appeal but requiring improvements in accessibility and community participation. Socio-economic sustainability assessments reveal that economic benefits are not evenly distributed, and local community involvement in tourism management remains low. Proposed strategies include improving infrastructure, training local communities, digital promotion, and strengthening stakeholder collaboration to establish a sustainable tourism destination.

This study aims to analyze the influence of the use of Instagram social media, business location, and destination image on the interest in visiting Karo Strawberry Garden again. Along with the development of experiential tourism, the use of social media is one of the important factors in attracting visitors, especially for natural tourist destinations such as strawberry farms. This study uses quantitative methods with multiple linear regression approaches to measure how much influence each independent variable has on return visit interest. The results showed that all three variables - Instagram usage, business location, and destination image - had a significant effect on return visit interest. Of the three variables, destination image has the most dominant influence in shaping visitors' interest in returning, followed by business location, and finally, the use of Instagram social media. This indicates that while promotion through social media plays an important role in attracting initial visits, adequate in-person experience at the destination determines interest in repeat visits more. Thus, the management of Karo Strawberry Farm is advised to focus more on improving the destination image through the quality of facilities, services, and overall experience, as well as supporting social media promotion and location accessibility as supporting factors.

Waste is leftover material that is considered to have no economic value, but its existence cannot be avoided in people's social life. In Karanglangon Hamlet, the increase in population that occurs every year increases the volume of waste produced. As the population increases, household waste production and other activities also increase, thereby exacerbating waste management problems in the region. If not managed properly, the increasing amount of waste can have various negative impacts, both on public health and the surrounding environment, such as air, land and water pollution. This problem demands more attention from various parties to find appropriate and sustainable solutions. This research aims to identify in more depth the problems related to waste management at the Dusun Karanglangon TPS using the PAR (Participatory Action Research) approach method. The research results revealed that the condition of the waste at the TPS had a significant negative impact on the surrounding environment. The main causes are limited facilities, minimal budgets, and inadequate waste management standards, resulting in the accumulation of waste and increasingly severe environmental pollution.
