N the rapidly evolving digital era, decision-making has become a critical aspect across various fields, including education, where choices such as selecting an Islamic boarding school (pondok pesantren) are often influenced by complex and subjective factors. This study addresses the dilemma faced by Diyah, a junior high school student, in determining the best reasons for choosing Pondok Pesantren Darularafah Raya, highlighting the limitations of manual, personal-based processes that fail to systematically consider measurable criteria like educational quality, learning environment, facilities, discipline, and instilled religious values. The advancement of information technology provides a solution through Decision Support Systems (DSS), utilizing the ORESTE (Organization, Rangement Et Synthèse De Données Relationnelles) method, which effectively processes ordinal data to produce objective rankings based on subjective yet structured preferences. Unlike other methods such as SAW or AHP that rely on numerical data, ORESTE emphasizes relative preference weights, making it suitable for individual decision-making contexts like educational choices. The novelty of this research lies in applying ORESTE in a DSS focused on analyzing an individual's best reasons for selecting a pesantren, aiming to reduce subjective bias and enhance rationality. The primary objective is to develop a DSS using the ORESTE method to analyze and determine Diyah's optimal reasons for choosing the pesantren. Through this, the system is expected to accelerate evaluation processes, improve objectivity, and identify dominant factors influencing educational decisions. Findings from the implementation demonstrate accurate rankings that prioritize key criteria, leading to more efficient and data-driven outcomes. Implications include aiding students, schools, and educators in understanding influential factors, fostering objective assessment systems, and serving as a reference for future studies integrating MCDM methods with computer-based systems in personalized educational decision-making.

This study highlights the significant role of students at SMA Tahfidz Khairunnas Surabaya in promoting the values of moderate Islam within the urban metropolitan context of Surabaya. The findings demonstrate that the implementation of moderate Islamic education is reflected in four core principles: At-Tawazun (balance), At-Tawasuth (moderation), At-Tasamuh (tolerance), and Al-Adl (justice). These values are supported by the family, school, and community environment, which collectively contribute to shaping students’ understanding and practice of moderation. The results further suggest that fostering moderate Islamic values in metropolitan society requires both maturity and contextual comprehension, enabling communities to internalize and apply these principles effectively. The involvement of students in disseminating moderate values represents an essential step toward strengthening critical thinking, moral integrity, and social ethics in accordance with Islamic moderation. Therefore, the educational practices at SMA Tahfidz Khairunnas not only contribute to individual student development but also serve as a catalyst for cultivating a more harmonious, tolerant, and balanced urban society.

Game-based learning has emerged as a relevant instructional strategy to address the challenges of 21st-century education, including in Islamic Religious Education (PAI), which is often perceived as monotonous and less engaging for students. This study aims to describe the implementation of game-based learning in enhancing students’ learning motivation in the PAI subject at MA Yapina. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that the use of educational games—both digital and non-digital—creates a more interactive and enjoyable learning atmosphere while encouraging active student participation. Students demonstrated increased motivation, self-confidence, and interest in understanding religious concepts more deeply. In addition to boosting motivation, game-based activities contributed to better conceptual understanding through collaborative tasks and contextual simulations of Islamic values. However, several challenges were identified, including limited teacher competence in using game-based media and unequal availability of technological facilities. These findings suggest that game-based learning holds significant potential for PAI instruction but requires adequate teacher support and sufficient infrastructure to optimize its implementation. This study is expected to serve as a reference for developing innovative and creative learning strategies in Islamic Religious Education that align with the characteristics of digital-native learners.

This study aims to analyze how Islamic education policy in Indonesia functions as a social mechanism in shaping and maintaining societal integration amidst modern social change. Based on Émile Durkheim's functionalism theory, this study views Islamic education as an institution that plays a vital role in maintaining moral order, social solidarity, and preventing symptoms of anomie resulting from an imbalance between traditional values and the demands of modernity. The approach used is qualitative with an exploratory-descriptive orientation, with data collection techniques through literature studies of policy documents, institutional reports, and related scientific research results. The analysis is conducted descriptively and analytically to interpret the social function of the policy based on the concepts of social solidarity, division of labor, and anomie. The results show that policies such as madrasah integration, religious moderation programs, and teacher professionalization have a manifest function in expanding access to education, increasing social mobility, strengthening gender equality, and strengthening cohesion between religious communities. However, latent functions are also found in the form of bureaucratization of educational institutions, resource inequality, and value resistance among local communities. These findings confirm that Islamic education policy operates ambivalently: as an integrative instrument that strengthens social solidarity, but also as an arena for value negotiation between tradition and modernity. Therefore, Islamic education policy needs to be directed in a more contextual and participatory manner to optimally function as an agent of inclusive, adaptive, and sustainable social transformation for modern Indonesian society.

Advances in information and communication technology (ICT) have revolutionized various aspects of life, including the education sector. The application of technology in education enables more flexible, interactive, and personalized learning, as well as expanding access for students in various regions, including remote areas. SMK Negeri 2 Binjai is one of the vocational education institutions in Binjai City that is currently facing challenges in the process of determining recipients of educational assistance, particularly the Indonesia Pintar (PIP) Program, which is intended for underprivileged students. Until now, the selection mechanism for PIP recipients has been carried out manually, making it prone to subjectivity, lack of transparency, and limited integrated data. To overcome this problem, a decision support system is needed to help schools determine the recipients of educational assistance objectively and structurally using the Weighted Aggregated Sum Product Assessment (WASPAS) method, which is an effective multi-criteria decision-making technique for processing various assessment criteria to produce the best alternative ranking. The results of the calculation using the WASPAS method produced different preference values (Qi) for each student alternative. The highest score was obtained by Ilyas Ramadhanu with a Qi of 0.6899, followed by Binar Sembiring with a Qi of 0.5963, and Dimas Dwi Andika with a Qi of 0.5790. The lowest value was obtained by Adit Rahmazi with a Qi of 0.3852.

Traditional games are an important part of cultural heritage rich in educational, social, and moral values. However, technological developments in the modern era have led children in Merangin Regency to abandon traditional games. They spend more time with gadgets, causing a decline in social interaction and awareness of local culture. Among various types of traditional games, congklak has become one of the least played. This situation encouraged designers to create an educational and engaging medium for children. As a solution, an Illustrated Book of the Traditional Game Congklak of Merangin Regency was designed as both a learning medium and an effort to preserve local culture. The illustrated book was chosen because it can convey messages visually and verbally in an appealing way, making it easier for readers to understand the story and the values contained within it. The design process used the 4D method (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) with 5W+1H analysis to meet design needs. In addition to the main book, supporting media such as posters, x-banners, t-shirts, tumblers, tote bags, bookmarks, and e-books were also developed. The design feasibility test obtained a score of 90%, categorized as very feasible, covering aspects of storyline, illustration, layout, and language. The content feasibility test achieved a score of 100%, also categorized as very feasible, including cultural, cognitive, social, and character education values. This book is declared highly feasible and effective as a learning medium as well as a means of preserving the local culture of Merangin Regency.

This study examines character and competency development through a philosophical approach. This philosophical approach plays a crucial role in developing students' character and competency, ensuring that education is not solely oriented toward knowledge but also toward the formation of morals and a holistic personality. This study employed a descriptive qualitative method, examining the ontological, epistemological, and axiological dimensions within the context of character education. The results indicate that a philosophical approach provides a profound understanding of the nature of humans as moral and rational beings capable of internalizing good values through reflection. This approach also encourages students to think critically, be responsible, and demonstrate integrity in all their actions. Furthermore, spiritual and social aspects are strengthened through the development of empathy, wisdom, and ethical awareness in interactions with the environment. The application of a philosophical approach makes the educational process more meaningful because it touches on the realms of knowledge, morals, and spirituality in a balanced manner. Thus, philosophy-based education can create individuals who are not only intellectually intelligent but also possess strong character, a reflective spirit, and are able to make a positive contribution to society.

The goal of Islamic education focuses not only on improving cognitive abilities, but also on the formation of a complete human being (insan kamil) who integrates knowledge, attitudes, spirituality, and life skills based on Islamic values. This article aims to examine the relevance of Bloom's Taxonomy in the context of Islamic education, particularly its application to Islamic values in educational institutions. This research uses a literature study method with a descriptive qualitative approach through analysis of classical and contemporary literature. The results show that the three main domains in Bloom's Taxonomy—cognitive, affective, and psychomotor—are aligned with the goals of Islamic education. The cognitive domain, as implied in Q.S. Al-'Alaq: 1–5, emphasizes the importance of reading, understanding, and critical thinking as forms of intellectual development. The affective domain is related to the formation of noble character, sincerity, and self-control (Q.S. Al-Syu'ara: 88–89), which serve as the moral foundation of students. Meanwhile, the psychomotor domain emphasizes the application of Islamic values in real behavior through worship, discipline, and social responsibility. The integration of these three domains reflects a holistic approach to Islamic education that balances intellectual, spiritual, and moral aspects. Thus, Bloom's Taxonomy can be used as an integrative learning model that enriches the Islamic education process and strengthens its role in character and civilization formation. Consequently, Islamic educators need to develop learning strategies that not only measure cognitive abilities but also foster students' religious attitudes and skills, leading to individuals of faith, knowledge, and noble character.
