This study examines the influence of parental absenteeism and parenting styles on adolescent delinquent behavior, as well as the role of emotional intelligence as a moderator. The research uses a quantitative approach with a correlational design. Data were collected from 224 high school students using delinquency scales, parental absenteeism, parenting styles, and the TEIQue-SF. The data were analyzed using linear regression and moderation analysis with SPSS and the PROCESS model 1 macro. The results indicate that parental absenteeism has a significant positive effect on juvenile delinquency (β = 0.232, p < 0.01), which means that the more frequently parents are absent, the higher the likelihood of delinquent behavior in adolescents. Additionally, parenting styles also have a significant effect on delinquency (R² = 0.149, p < 0.01). Both authoritarian and permissive styles increase the risk of delinquency, while the authoritative style serves as a protective factor that can reduce juvenile delinquency. The authoritative style, combining discipline with affection, is shown to be effective in preventing negative behaviors in adolescents. Emotional intelligence plays a significant role as a moderator in the relationship between parental absenteeism and delinquency (β = -0.128, p < 0.05), suggesting that adolescents with higher emotional intelligence can mitigate the negative impact of parental absenteeism on their delinquent behavior. However, emotional intelligence does not significantly moderate the relationship between parenting styles and delinquency. These findings highlight the importance of active parental involvement in parenting and the development of adolescents' emotional intelligence to prevent delinquent behavior. Therefore, comprehensive and culturally-based intervention approaches involving families, schools, and communities are needed to support the prevention of adolescent delinquency and foster healthy, positive relationships for them.

Dating violence among adolescents is a phenomenon that is often unnoticed and hidden behind relationships considered to be normal. Many adolescents get caught in unhealthy relationships due to a lack of understanding about boundaries and the types of violence that can occur in dating relationships, such as physical, verbal, emotional, and sexual abuse. Dating violence is often seen as part of the normal dynamics of a relationship, but it can have significant negative impacts on the mental and physical health of adolescents involved. This study aims to provide education on the importance of recognizing signs of dating violence and to encourage adolescents to build healthy, equitable relationships. Through educational activities, it is hoped that adolescents can increase their awareness of dating violence, understand the importance of boundaries, and gain the courage to take action if they or their partners experience violence. This education also aims to foster empathy, respect, and healthy communication skills between adolescent couples. The education provided includes information that helps adolescents recognize the different forms of violence and how to avoid them. It also emphasizes the importance of open communication and mutual support in relationships. With good communication skills, adolescents are expected to resolve conflicts constructively and keep their relationships positive. Values of equality and mutual respect in relationships are also introduced to ensure that both partners feel valued and respected. With a better understanding of healthy relationships, it is hoped that adolescents will be able to make better decisions in their relationships. Through ongoing education, dating violence can be prevented from an early age. This will allow adolescents to engage in safer, more respectful, and positive relationships, while reducing the negative effects of dating violence.

Adolescent reproductive health is a crucial aspect in creating a physically, mentally, and socially healthy generation. Adolescence is a critical phase in individual development marked by biological, psychological, and social changes, requiring special attention, particularly regarding understanding reproductive health. Unfortunately, many adolescents still have limited knowledge in this area, which can increase the risk of risky behavior, unwanted pregnancy, and sexually transmitted infections. In this context, families play a crucial role as the primary source of education, supervision, and emotional and moral support. This community service activity aims to increase the knowledge and understanding of adolescent reproductive health among families in Uma Sima Village, Sumbawa District. The methods used included interactive counseling, group discussions, and the distribution of educational media in the form of leaflets to families with adolescent children. The activity was conducted over two days and was attended by 30 families. To measure the effectiveness of the activity, pre- and post-tests were conducted to assess the increase in participants' knowledge before and after the activity. Adolescence is often regarded as a vulnerable and critical period, marked by the transition from childhood to adulthood. In today’s context, this phase is frequently described as a time of crisis due to the lack of proper guidance during personality formation. Teenagers require support and direction, particularly from their parents, to help navigate this stage. The family plays a crucial role in shaping behavior and is considered the primary institution responsible for preventing and addressing juvenile delinquency. A harmonious family life often reflects in the child’s behavior and interaction with the environment. When parents are actively involved in guiding and mentoring their children, adolescents are more likely to become positive role models. Deviant behavior among teenagers has become a pressing issue, especially considering that the youth are regarded as future assets for the nation, state, and religion. This study aims to: (1) Identify the factors that cause deviant behavior among teenagers in Kendayakan Village, Serang District; and (2) Explore the efforts made by parents to address such behavior. A qualitative research method with a case study approach was employed. Data were collected using three techniques: observation, interviews, and documentation. The analysis was carried out using qualitative descriptive methods. The findings reveal that deviant behavior among teenagers in Kendayakan Village is influenced by two main factors: (a) environmental factors, such as peer influence and lack of positive role models, and (b) individual factors, including emotional instability and lack of self-control. Meanwhile, the efforts made by parents include providing supervision, instilling discipline, offering advice and religious education, and collaborating with schools and community leaders. These efforts highlight the critical role of parental intervention in preventing and addressing adolescent deviance.

Tartar is a common oral health problem among adolescents. Tartar forms from hardened plaque due to a lack of proper and regular brushing habits. If not treated early, this condition can lead to serious disorders such as gingivitis (gum inflammation) and periodontitis (damage to the supporting tissue of the teeth), which impact adolescents' quality of life and self-confidence. Therefore, education about the dangers of tartar and the importance of maintaining oral health is essential, especially in schools. This community service activity aims to increase adolescents' knowledge and awareness of the dangers of tartar and equip them with proper toothbrushing skills. The activity was held on July 5, 2025, at SMP Negeri 1 Manuju, Bilalang Village, Gowa Regency, and was attended by seventh and eighth grade students. The methods used included interactive education, simulations of toothbrushing techniques according to health standards, and the distribution of leaflets as additional information that students can access again. Evaluation was carried out through pre- and post-tests to measure knowledge gains, as well as direct observation of toothbrushing practices. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in students' knowledge scores, namely 31.3 points (from an average of 53.4 to 84.7). Furthermore, 92% of students were able to practice correct toothbrushing techniques. These results indicate that an educational approach combined with simulations and visual media is effective in increasing understanding and changing clean and healthy lifestyle behaviors in adolescents. This activity is expected to become a model for sustainable dental health education in schools and be replicated elsewhere.

Bullying is a recurring issue and has become a widespread concern, particularly among children and adolescents in school environments. Schools, which should ideally be safe spaces for learning, building friendships, and experiencing personal growth, often turn into places of fear and psychological distress for some students. This is largely due to the frequent violation of human rights (HR) that often goes unaddressed or is underestimated. Bullying can take many forms, including verbal, psychological, physical abuse, and increasingly, cyberbullying. Each of these forms can cause serious harm not only to the victims—who may suffer from emotional and mental trauma—but also to the perpetrators, who may experience long-term psychological consequences and develop deviant or aggressive behavior patterns. In Indonesia, bullying remains a significant issue and a major concern in the education sector. Nearly every school has faced incidents of bullying in one form or another. Cyberbullying, in particular, is harder to monitor and control since it often occurs outside the school’s jurisdiction and is carried out through social media platforms. Efforts to tackle bullying must go beyond merely protecting and supporting the victims. A comprehensive approach is necessary, one that also focuses on preventive education. Students, teachers, and parents must be consistently educated on the negative impacts of bullying, the importance of empathy, and a deeper understanding of human rights. Moreover, strict and clear sanctions must be imposed on perpetrators as a form of legal enforcement and deterrence. With a holistic strategy that involves all elements of the school and the wider community, it is hoped that educational institutions can truly become safe, inclusive, and supportive environments. Such conditions are essential for fostering not only academic growth but also the psychological well-being and character development of the nation's children.

One of the vulnerable groups facing the double burden of malnutrition is children living in Child Social Welfare Institutions (LKSA), such as the LKSA Christian Orphanage Foundation in Malang City. This LKSA holds a C-level accreditation status, indicating limited resources and inadequate facilities to support children's well-being. Preliminary research revealed that many children are unaware of their nutritional status and have not received regular health check-ups or nutritional monitoring. To address this issue, the GAES Program (Grow And Eat Smart) was developed with the goal of increasing awareness about the double burden of malnutrition and enhancing education on the importance of regular nutritional status monitoring for children. The GAES Program consists of three main activities: distribution of nutritional measurement tools (scales and height measuring instruments), education on the importance of routine nutritional monitoring, and training in anthropometric screening techniques. The program's results showed that out of the 13 participating children, 7 children (54%) were identified as undernourished, while 6 children (46%) had good nutritional status. In addition, all participants successfully understood the educational material delivered during the sessions and were able to perform anthropometric measurements independently as an initial step in screening their nutritional status. Through this initiative, it is expected that both the children and the LKSA management will become more aware of the importance of regular nutritional monitoring and take early preventive actions. Furthermore, health professionals and local health centers (Puskesmas) are encouraged to provide continuous support and interventions at the LKSA to improve the nutritional status of children and adolescents. Such efforts are essential to prevent the long-term health impacts of the double burden of malnutrition and to ensure a healthier future for children living in social welfare institutions.

The use of social media has become an inseparable part of daily life for Indonesian teenagers. Platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and WhatsApp are widely used for communication, self-expression, entertainment, and information. However, behind these benefits lie significant negative impacts, particularly the rise of juvenile delinquency and digital violence. Phenomena such as cyberbullying, the spread of negative content, hoaxes, hate speech, and online exploitation are increasingly prevalent. Data from GoodStats and the 2024 National Survey on the Life Experiences of Children and Adolescents (SNPHAR) reveal high rates of violence experienced and perpetrated by teenagers in digital spaces. Furthermore, reports from the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) show a yearly increase in cases of juvenile misbehavior linked to social media usage. This study employs a descriptive quantitative approach using secondary data from KPAI, GoodStats, and SNPHAR. The objective is to identify various forms of juvenile delinquency triggered by social media use and to explore both existing and potential strategies for prevention. The analysis indicates that low levels of digital literacy among teenagers, weak parental supervision, and the influence of social media algorithms that often amplify extreme content are major contributing factors to deviant behavior. This research emphasizes the importance of collaborative efforts among families, schools, the government, and digital platforms to create a safe and healthy digital environment for teenagers. Comprehensive digital literacy education, character development, stronger child protection regulations on the internet, and increased parental involvement are key strategies that need to be strengthened. Through an integrated approach, it is hoped that the risks of delinquency and digital violence can be minimized, enabling Indonesian youth to grow into a generation that is intelligent, critical, and responsible in their use of social media.

The increase in mortality rates, caused by traffic accidents, usually occurs partly because Indonesians do not know how to provide proper first aid when victims are found (Ferianto, 2023). Injuries to the musculoskeletal system must be treated quickly and appropriately, because if it is too late, it will cause the condition of the injury to worsen and cause bleeding. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of education on emergency assistance for upper extremity injuries with splinting techniques on adolescent knowledge. This research method uses a quantitative design using pretest and posttest questionnaires. The administration of pre-test and post-test questionnaires is according to the number of participants who participated in the education. The number of samples obtained in this study was 40 people with the target of MA adolescents with an age range of 15-17 years. This study was conducted on July 25, 2025, at MA Al-Ittihadiyah Pangkalan Masyhur Medan. The results of this study showed a significant difference between the level of knowledge before (pre-test) and after (post-test). Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that there is an effect of emergency aid education for upper extremity injuries using splinting techniques on the knowledge of adolescents at MA Al-Ittihadiyah Pangkalan Masyhur Medan.

The digital era presents serious challenges to the character formation of Christian adolescents, marked by a rise in moral and spiritual degradation due to exposure to negative content and lifestyle changes. Christian Religious Education (CRE), as a moral foundation, is expected to respond to this phenomenon but often faces issues of relevance. This study aims to analyze the role and effectiveness of CRE in shaping adolescent character, identify the impacts of digital technology, and formulate an integrative character education strategy for the digital age. The method used is qualitative with a library research approach, where data from various relevant journals, books, and articles are analyzed using an interactive model. The results indicate that the effectiveness of conventional CRE tends to decline as it is not contextual to the struggles of adolescents. Digital technology was found to have negative impacts that are more easily absorbed compared to its positive impacts, which require intentional guidance. The key finding of this study is that the solution to these challenges lies in an integrative strategy that synergizes the roles of the school, family, and church holistically. The implication is that CRE must be transformed by integrating digital literacy based on Christian values and strengthening the role of educators as role models. A solid collaboration among stakeholders is the key to equipping adolescents to become wise, ethical, and character-driven technology users in accordance with their Christian faith.
