Elderly Catholics are an important part of the church community who require special attention as they face physical health challenges, emotional needs, and spiritual aspects that require special care. This article discusses the role of pastoral care in dealing with these challenges by promoting a meaningful quality of life for Catholic elderly. The method used in discussing this topic is a literature study. The pastoral role in encouraging the quality of life of elderly Catholics includes spiritual assistance, moral guidance, community services, counseling and emotional support, as well as education and coaching. Through this holistic approach, Catholic elderly can feel God's love and community support both physically and spiritually so that Catholic elderly live a more meaningful life.

Elderly becomes an aging process that as it ages causes various deterioration of body functions and a decrease in the level of independence, if this condition lasts long it will have an impact on the quality of life of the elderly. Quality of life in the elderly is important because it is an indicator of successful aging. This quality of life is influenced by various factors, one of which is family support. Family support is included in the supporting factors that can influence a person's behavior and lifestyle so that it has an impact on their health status and quality of life. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between family support and quality of life in the elderly at May Sam Fureru Home Nursing Kanagawa, Japan. Type of correlational research with a cross sectional approach. The population and sample were all elderly people in the elderly home of May Sam Fureru Home Nursing Kanagawa Japan as many as 60 respondents using the sampling technique is total sampling. The family support questionnaire uses the standardized Family Support Scale (FSS) instrument, on quality of life using the WHO Quality of life-BREEF. Data analysis using Yates correction test.  Univariate analysis showed that most respondents did not get family support by 55.0%, and in quality of life it was found that most respondents had a quality of life that was sufficient at 46.7%. There is a relationship between family support and quality of life in the elderly at May Sam Fureru Home Nursing Kanagawa Japan in 2023. It is hoped that it can be used as a reference material for nurses to carry out nursing care by involving families to help care, and serve as evidence-based practice for future researchers to develop further research.

The proportion of the elderly population is increasing every year, and the elderly are experiencing various changes, both in physical, mental and social aspects. The elderly are residents aged over 60 years. Elderly people often experience various psychological problems such as loneliness, isolation, helplessness, lack of self-confidence, post-power syndrome, anxiety disorders and depression. Depression is a mood disorder that can cause prolonged feelings of sadness and persistent loss of interest, characterized by prolonged sadness, mood swings, and lack of interest in activities. The tool used to measure the level of depression in this case report uses the GDS (Geriatric Depression Scale) instrument. In this case report, the results of an assessment of one 66 year old client were obtained with a GDS score of 11 which indicated moderate depression. Management of depression can use pharmacological or non-pharmacological therapy. This case report refers to the Indonesian Nursing Intervention Standards (SIKI) using progressive muscle relaxation (ROP). The ROP intervention was carried out at BPSTW Abiyoso Wisma Talkondo for seven days with three evaluations. The results obtained were that the client experienced a decrease in the level of depression with a score of 5, namely mild depression. It can be concluded that ROP is effective in reducing depression levels in the elderly.

A person's happiness with their sleep and the absence of symptoms of sleep deprivation and difficulty sleeping are indicators of good sleep quality. Sleep quality includes things like sleep duration, sleep latency, and subjective features of sleep. A person's capacity to maintain sleep conditions to achieve the appropriate REM and NREM sleep phases. The aim of this research is to determine the impact of gamelan music therapy. The research used a pre-experiment method with a one group pretest-posttest design. There is an influence of gamelan music therapy on sleep quality in the elderly in Banteran Village, Sumbang District, according to the sampling strategy, namely consecutive sampling, which shows a t-test analysis with a p-value of 0.001 (p 0.05).

Dementia or senility is an aging process so it is considered a normal thing and if dementia is not prevented or treated it will have an impact such as a decrease in cognitive function. Cognitive function is mental and intellectual abilities and memory. Cognitive function ability was measured using the MMSE (Mini Mental State Examination) questionnaire which consisted of 11 questions. Efforts to improve cognitive function one of them with classical music therapy. This case study aims to describe the application of classical music therapy to improve cognitive function in the elderly at the Sekaran Health Center in Semarang. This case study uses a type of case study with a descriptive approach. The subjects of this case study used 2 people with inclusion criteria: age between 60-74 years, able to communicate well, elderly with mild dementia (MMSE score 24-30) and moderate (probable) MMSE score 17-23, elderly who are cooperative and can read and write, the elderly who are not hearing impaired. This case study was conducted 4 meetings over 2 weeks. The results of this case study showed an increase in cognitive function felt by both subjects. Subject I from a score of 22 (probable cognitive disorder) to 28 (normal). Subject II from a score of 19 (probable cognitive disorder) to 25 (normal). Classical music therapy in conclusion can improve the cognitive function of elderly people with dementia and is recommended as an effective therapy application in improving cognitive function.

This research aims to analyze the role of cadres in caring for elderly people with dementia in Deliksari Village, Gunungpati. Cadres are individuals who are specially trained to provide health and social support in their communities. In this context, they have a responsibility to help families and elderly people experiencing dementia through various programs and activities focused on improving quality of life and preventing further cognitive decline. This study uses a qualitative approach with observation methods, in-depth interviews and document analysis to obtain relevant data. The research results show that cadres play an important role in providing health information, care training, and emotional support to families and the elderly. They also act as a link between the community and formal health services, assisting in the early detection and more effective management of dementia

Akupresur merupakan salah satu terapi non farmakologis yang dapat dilakukan untuk pasien lansia dengan hipertensi.Terapi akupresur dapat membuat tubuh rileks sehingga terjadi penurunan tekanan darah. Metode penyuluhan ini dilakukan secara langsung dengan ceramah dan diskusi secara interaktif serta simulasi akupresur.  Diskusi dilakukan dengan metode tanya jawab terkait materi. Materi selain disajikan secara presentasi juga diberikan  melalui leaflet. Akupresur dilakukan dengan melakukan penekanan pada titik LR 3, SP 6,ST 40, ST 36, GB 20, L14,PC 6. Pada setiap titik refleksi minimal 2 menit setiap titiknya. Hasil kegiatan menunjukan bahwa setelah kegiatan ini sebagian besar ibu mempunyai pengetahaun yang baik tentang hipertensi dan akupresur. Kegiatan penyuluhan ini telah dicapai dengan menambah wawasan dan turunnya tekanan darah setelah intervensi akupresur.

Background: Aging in human life is a natural thing, and must be experienced by all older people. Elderly is a phase characterized by the onset of weakness in the body and susceptibility to disease. Hypertension occurs over the age of 60 (55%.) Changeable factors such as knowledge. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and hypertension in the elderly at the Lerep Community Health Center. Method: This research was conducted in February 2024 using a cross-sectional with 30 respondents. The level of knowledge as the independent variable, and hypertension in the elderly as the dependent variable. The instrument uses a questionnaire. Data analysis using the Kendal Tau test. Results: %. The results of the Kendal Tau statistical test obtained a p-value of 0.001<0.05, which means that there is a relationship between the level of knowledge and the incidence of hypertension in the elderly at the Lerep Community Health Center. Conclusion: the majority of respondents were aged 60-69 years (73.4%), 60% male, p-value 0.001, which means that there is a relationship between the level of knowledge and the incidence of hypertension. Suggestions for elderly people with hypertension can increase knowledge about managing hypertension.

Hypertension is a non-communicable disease that many people need to pay attention to, especially the elderly, therefore it requires more comprehensive and integrated treatment over a long period of time. Uncontrolled hypertension results in a 7 times chance of suffering a stroke, a 6 times chance of suffering from coronary heart disease and a 3 times chance of suffering a heart attack. Based on this description, researchers are interested in conducting research on the effect of walking activity on blood pressure in elderly hypertensive sufferers at UPT Mojokerto. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of walking activity on blood pressure in elderly hypertensive sufferers at UPT Mojokerto. This type of research method is experimental. With a Pre-Experimental research design, and using a One Group Pretest-Posttest research design. From a population of 46 elderly people at UPT Pesanggrahan Mojokerto, a sample of 10 elderly people was taken. Determining the number of samples using purposive sampling. The instrument used is a sphygmomanometer. Implement a 30 minute walking activity exercise program for 2 weeks at a frequency of 3 times per week. The data analysis techniques used are descriptive tests, normality tests using Shapiro-Wilk and hypothesis testing using paired tests in the SPSS statistical version 23 application. The results of the descriptive test research showed that the average difference between pretest and posttest diastolic blood pressure was (4.00 mmHg) and the average difference between pretest and posttest systolic blood pressure (6.00 mmHg). And from the hypothesis test, the t-count significance value = 0.004 with a significance level of α = 0.05. Because the p-value is <0.05, there is an influence of walking activity on reducing the blood pressure of hypertension in the elderly at UPT Pesanggrahan Mojokerto.

The post-operative recovery process is an important aspect in improving the quality of life for the elderly. A proper understanding of wound care, pain management, and activities that can accelerate recovery is essential to support their healing. Therefore, appropriate education and counseling are needed to help the elderly manage their recovery process effectively. The aim of this community service activity is to improve the knowledge and skills of the elderly community in Surakarta regarding post-operative healing. The method used in this activity is a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design consisting of a pre-test and post-test with one group. The respondents were 20 elderly individuals who had undergone surgery. A pre-test was conducted before the education to measure the initial knowledge level of the elderly regarding post-operative care. After providing education on wound care, pain management, and the importance of recovery activities, a post-test was conducted to measure changes in the elderly’s knowledge after receiving the education. The results of this activity showed a significant increase in the elderly’s knowledge, as indicated by the difference between pre-test and post-test scores. This demonstrates that the education provided was effective in enhancing the elderly’s understanding of post-operative care and recovery processes. This activity is expected to help the elderly recover more quickly and effectively, thereby improving their quality of life after surgery.

Background: Stroke is a health problem that we often encounter in today's modern society, stroke is a very serious disease phenomenon in Indonesia and throughout the world. Stroke is a condition where the blood supply to the brain is disrupted due to a blockage or rupture. blood vessels of a person with various symptoms such as hemiparesis, slurred speech, loss of balance and decreased muscle strength and difficulty walking. Stroke is one of the causes of decreased muscle strength where muscle strength is a contraction in the striated muscle fibers (voluntary muscles) that lasts briefly and each contraction occurs on a single stimulus from the nerve. Objective: to determine the results of applying passive Range of Motion (ROM) exercises to increasing muscle strength in the Neuro Center ward of RSUD DR. Soediran Mangun Sumarso Wonogiri. Method: the application of this journal uses a qualitative description method. Results: the results after the implementation was an increase in muscle strength in both respondents. Conclusion: there is an increase in muscle strength in both respondents, Range of Motion (ROM) Exercise therapy can increase muscle strength in stroke sufferers.

As we get older,blood pressure will increase,causing the risk of hypertension. Hypertension is a degeneratif disease.Bload pressure that is left for a long time can cause damage to body organs such as stroke,coronary heart disease,which can cause death.Therefore,incereasing potassium intake is also one of the non- phamacological management of hypertension.This is done by consuming fruit and vegetables high in potassium,one of which is cucumber.There are several ways to cinsume cucumber.In this background,it is popular to use cucumber as Infused Water.The aim of this research for specifications,thare is an effect of giving infused water on reducing blood pressure in elderly people suffering from hypertension in the area of Desa SindangJaya Kec.Cipanas Kab,Cianjur.This research uses a quasi-experimental research design with a one group pretest-posttest design.The population in this study is all elderly people with hypertension in the SindangJaya village area.The sample for this research was taken using a purposive sampling technique and obtained a sample of using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank T-Test.There was a significant 2-tailed influene on the systolic and diastolic blood pressure of the respondents before administering cucumber infused water and after administering cucumber infused water,it was 0.000 < 0.005.There was a difference or effect of administering cucumber infused water on the systolic and diastolic blood pressure of respondents in the SindangJaya Village area,Cipanas district.Cianjur.There is an effect of giving cucumber infused water on reduccing blood pressure in elderly people suffering from hypertension in Sindangjaya village area,cipanas district,cianjur district in 2023.it s hoped that they wil be albe to continue on there awn by carrying out camplementry treatment by comsuming cucumber infused water so that blood pressure can remain normal.

There is an increase in stress among the elderly at the Tresna Werdha Budi Mulia 1 Cipayung Social Home in 2023. It is suspected that this stress is caused by several trigger factors including missing family, feeling abandoned, not feeling free, fear of the disease they are suffering from, and fear of death. which can have an impact on poor health. Objective: To find out the causes of stress in the elderly at the Tresna Werdha Budi Mulia 1 Cipayung Social Home in 2023. Method: In this research, researchers used a qualitative approach with a case study type of research with descriptive methods. Results: The cause of stress in the elderly is due to psychosocial changes. This is because seniors often lose their personal belongings, seniors' relationships with other seniors are less harmonious, and room conditions are less conducive, which makes seniors unable to sleep. Stress due to psychosocial changes is also caused by elderly people who no longer have families, divorce from their partners, lose loved ones forever, feel abandoned and abandoned. Conclusion: From this research it can be concluded that the cause of stress in the elderly at the Tresna Werdha Budi Mulia 1 Cipayung Social Home is due to psychosocial changes. This is caused by several factors such as loss of valuables, less harmonious relationships with the elderly, less conducive room conditions, no longer existing family, loss of loved ones forever, and abandonment.

Elderly health checks are an important part of efforts to maintain quality of life and prevent degenerative diseases that often occur in old age. This program is implemented at Posyandu Mawar, Pajang, Surakarta, with the aim of detecting early health conditions of the elderly and providing education related to healthy lifestyles. The activities include checking blood pressure, blood sugar, body mass index (BMI), and health consultations aimed at maintaining the overall physical condition of the elderly. The results of the examination showed that most of the elderly who participated in this program experienced mild to moderate hypertension and increased blood sugar levels. This program also succeeded in increasing elderly awareness of the importance of routine health checks and healthy lifestyle changes, including more regular diet and physical activity. As a preventive measure, periodic health checks at Posyandu are expected to reduce the risk of degenerative diseases and improve the overall quality of life of the elderly. Therefore, this health check program needs to be continuously supported and implemented sustainably

The decline in cognitive function can be influenced by various factors, both individual and environmental. Individual factors include age, gender, level of education, genetic factors, and medical history. Meanwhile, environmental factors include social engagement and activities, both physical and cognitive activities. This research aims to investigate the Relationship between Social Interaction and Physical Activity with Cognitive Function in the Elderly Population in Neighborhood 05 of Cilangkap Subdistrict, Tapos District, Depok City. The method used in this research utilizes a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design, involving a sample of 55 respondents. The research results showed that the majority of respondents had good social interaction, totaling 32 respondents out of the total respondents. Of these, 23 (71.0%) respondents had a normal cognitive function, while 9 (28.1%) respondents experienced moderate cognitive impairment. Additionally, the majority of respondents with good physical activity and normal cognitive function amounted to 22 respondents (75.9%), while respondents with good physical activity and moderate cognitive impairment numbered 7 respondents (24.1%). In conclusion, the majority of respondents with good social interaction and good physical activity tended to have normal cognitive function.

One of the physiotherapy treatments that can be carried out is counseling which aims to increase the knowledge of members of POS LANSIA GARUDA RW 26 Sibela Mojosongo regarding Low Back Pain. This study aims to find out about how the efforts to fulfill the right of alimony from children to parents who are entrusted in  nursing home Griya Lansia “Jannati”. The method used in this study is empirical with qualitative descriptive data analysis that describes and outlines the data and facts of the field. The results of this study showed that the effort to fulfill the right of alimony for the elderly in the nursing home Griya Lansia “Jannati” is not optimal, this is because children do not carry out their obligations in fulfilling the rights of alimony that should be obtained by parents who are in the nursing home Griya Lasia “Jannati”. The child fulfills only a small part of the alimony rights that parents should have. For example, children only provide a living when visiting Within 2 months, and children only visit their parents regularly so that parents feel lonely and abandoned.

Introduction: High blood pressure (hypertension) is an increase in blood pressure in the arteries. Health problems in elderly people are often related to decreased organ function which causes degenerative diseases, including hypertension. This condition needs to be watched out for because it often does not show any special symptoms, so many people are not aware of it and still feel healthy to carry out daily activities. Therefore, hypertension is often referred to as a silent killer.Method: The research method applied in this study is a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental design with a one-group pre-post test design model.Research Results: The average blood pressure before doing elderly exercise (pretest) was 151.94/93.66 mmHg, while after doing elderly exercise (post-test) it was 137.90/87 mmHg. There is a significant effect of elderly exercise on blood pressure in middle-aged hypertensive patients at UPTD Cibeber Health Center.Conclusion: Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that providing elderly exercise has a significant influence on the blood pressure of middle-aged hypertensive patients at the Cibeber Health Center UPTD

As age changes, without realizing it, elderly people will also experience physical, psychosocial and spiritual changes. One of these changes is cardiovascular and musculoskeletal disorders. Musculoskeletal system disorders are a factor in chronic diseases and motor system disorders in the elderly such as rheumatoid arthritis. Rheumatoid Arthritis is at risk of causing complications in the form of carpal tunnel syndrome, a condition that causes numbness, tingling, pain or weakness. on the hands and wrists. This research uses a quantitative research design using a one group pre-post test (pre-experimental) method. A quantitative design is used because the data will be used to determine the influence between variables which are expressed using numbers or a numerical scale. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with a sample size of 20 respondents. Data analysis used paired t test t test. shows that from the results of the dependent t test or paired sample T-test, it can be seen that the average level of pain before and after doing ergonomic exercises is 1,650 and obtained P value = 0.000 < 0.05, so H0 is rejected, meaning that there is an influence of ergonomic exercises on pain levels in elderly people suffering from rheumatoid arthritis at PSSW Budi Mulia 1 Cipayung in 2023
