This article explains the Bakaua ritual at sacred graves, a tradition of the Nagari Sungai Limau community that has deep theological value. This research aims to analyze the meaning of theological values in the Bakaua ritual and how its practice can strengthen people's spiritual relationships. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this research examines the spiritual, social, and cultural aspects inherent in the Bakaua tradition. The research results indicate that this ritual serves not only as a means of prayer and respect for ancestors but also as a medium for strengthening social relations and preserving local wisdom. Apart from that, the Bakaua ritual is seen as a form of asking for protection, expressing gratitude, and fulfilling vows, which reflects the close relationship between culture and theology in the life of Minangkabau society. The method used in this research is qualitative, encouraging a different approach from previous research, which only discussed Bakaua dramaturgy in the Minangkabau society. However, this paper places more emphasis on aspects of theological values in the Bakaua ritual tradition at sacred graves. This study highlights how theological meaning is embodied through symbolic practices, offerings, and communal prayers that represent submission to divine will. It also reveals how the ritual facilitates intergenerational transmission of spiritual values, maintaining continuity of belief systems in modern contexts. By analyzing community participation and oral narratives, the research uncovers deep spiritual motives rooted in Islamic beliefs intertwined with local cultural expressions. In addition, the findings underscore the community’s resilience in preserving traditional theology-based rituals despite the influence of modernization and shifts in religious interpretations. The Bakaua ritual thus becomes a cultural-theological bridge that binds generations and sustains spiritual identity within the dynamic life of the Minangkabau people.

The Javanese wayang kulit purwa (classical shadow puppetry) is a complex performance art form in which karawitan (gamelan music) plays a primary and crucial role, serving as accompaniment, building atmosphere, and accentuating the puppet's movements. A vital musical element within the pakeliran (puppetry performance) repertoire is the gending budhalan, a musical piece used to accompany the scene of a military departure. Ki Purbo Asmoro, one of the most influential dalang (puppeteers) of the contemporary pakeliran garap (interpretive performance style) era, is renowned for his intelligent and innovative performance concepts and musical interpretations. This study aims to analyze Gending Cundaka, a piece frequently used for this departure scene, within the context of Ki Purbo Asmoro's performances. Employing an ethnomusicological and performance studies approach, this qualitative research examines three main aspects: (1) the musical structure and aesthetics of Gending Cundaka; (2) its dramaturgical function as a gending budhalan; and (3) the uniqueness of Ki Purbo Asmoro's interpretation, or garap, that distinguishes his performances. Data were collected through participatory observation of Ki Purbo Asmoro's audio-visual performance recordings, transcription of musical arrangements, and a literature review. The findings indicate that in Ki Purbo Asmoro's interpretation, Gending Cundaka functions not merely as musical illustration but as a potent narrative instrument. Its assertive melodic structure, combined with dynamic kendhangan (drumming patterns) and dramatic tempo manipulations (seseg-kendho), effectively builds the performance's atmosphere, affirms the character of the troops, and provides psychological depth to the scene. The selection and treatment of this gending reflect Ki Purbo Asmoro's artistic intelligence in blending tradition with innovation to achieve gregel (an aesthetic thrill) and evoke a profound sense of rasa (deep feeling) in the audience.

The practice of anatomical corpse (cadaver) surgery in medical education has an important value to improve the understanding and skills of medical students related to the anatomy of the human body. However, uncivilized acts of the corpse in this practice can raise legal and ethical issues. This study aims to analyze whether the practice is in accordance with the principles of law, ethics, and respect for the corpse, as well as how the act of treating the corpse uncivilized can be categorized as an unlawful act (wederrechtelijk). The research uses a normative approach with primary, secondary, and tertiary legal analysis, including the Criminal Code, Law Number 17 of 2023 concerning Health, and Regulation of the Minister of Health Number 38 of 2022. The results of the study show that there is a gap in norms related to legal uncertainty in regulating the treatment of corpses in the practice of medical education. Existing norms have not explicitly provided detailed guidance on uncivilized acts, thus opening up space for multiple interpretations. The uncivilized treatment of corpses violates the principles of respect for human dignity as stipulated in criminal law and medical ethics. Therefore, systematic legal interpretation and regulatory reform are needed to provide legal certainty, protect the rights of the corpse, and ensure that the practice of medical education runs in accordance with the principles of ethics, law, and respect for the corpse. This study provides recommendations to strengthen regulations and ethical education in the use of cadavers in order to maintain public trust in the medical profession.

The development of social media has transformed institutional communication strategies, including those of the Indonesian Army (TNI AD) in building a more humanized image. This study aims to analyze how visual and narrative elements in the disaster relief content related to the eruption of Mount Lewotobi, as published by TNI AD on Instagram, are constructed and conveyed to the public. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method using Robert N. Entman’s framing analysis model, which includes problem definition, causal interpretation, moral evaluation, and treatment recommendation. Data were collected through observation and documentation of TNI AD’s Instagram post dated January 13, 2024. The findings indicate that both visual and narrative framing effectively shape public perception of the TNI AD as a responsive, compassionate, and empathetic emergency actor that presents itself as a solution during humanitarian crises. The humanistic image is emphasized through visuals depicting aid distribution, warm interactions with residents, and the provision of healthcare services. The implications of this study suggest that social media can serve as a strategic tool to strengthen public trust and expand the military's communication role in the civilian sphere, particularly during disaster situations.

In the modern era, approaches to understanding hadith have undergone significant transformations, necessitating more systematic and contextualized methodologies. Thematic hadith studies (mawḍū‘ī) have emerged as a methodological solution capable of integrating the Prophet’s teachings with contemporary realities in a more comprehensive manner. This research aims to examine the concept, history, and development of the thematic methodology in hadith studies. The primary focus is to explore the epistemology of this approach and its implications within modern Islamic academic discourse. This study employs a qualitative method using a library research approach. Data were collected through the analysis of primary and secondary literature, then analyzed using descriptive-analytical and historical-critical methods. The findings indicate that while the thematic method has existed since the classical era, its conceptual maturity has advanced significantly in the contemporary period. This approach has proven effective in addressing the issue of ikhtilāf al-ḥadīth, clarifying inter-narration relationships, and expanding the scope of hadith understanding according to the needs of the time. However, its main challenges include potential subjectivity in interpretation and the need for stricter methodologies in validating both sanad and matn. Therefore, thematic hadith studies serve as a bridge between classical understanding and modern academic demands. Its implications extend beyond the development of hadith science to the continued relevance of Islamic teachings in addressing contemporary intellectual and social challenges.

The process of seeking knowledge does not merely involve intellectual intelligence but also requires emotional and spiritual strength, one of which is cultivated through patience. In fact, in today's fast-paced, instant era, many knowledge seekers often overlook the aspect of patience. Therefore, this research aims to explore the meaning and urgency of patience in seeking knowledge based on Q.S. Al-Kahfi verses 65-70, which focus on the story of Prophet Musa and Khidr. The method used in this research is a literature review with a qualitative approach, analyzing the relevant verses as well as classical and contemporary interpretations that serve as primary sources. The analysis of this article demonstrates that patience in seeking knowledge is a prerequisite for attaining true knowledge, functioning as an inner strength to overcome obstacles, maintain consistency in learning, and shape the character of a genuine learner who is not only intellectually intelligent but also spiritually mature. These findings are relevant to the integration of manners, ethics, and spirituality in contemporary Islamic education.

The Tiatiki tradition in Teluk Depapre, Papua, is not merely an ecological ritual but serves as a cultural communication medium that conveys social and political messages. This study aims to analyze Tiatiki as vernacular media representing environmental conservation while articulating the resistance of indigenous communities against development policies that potentially threaten their customary territories. The research employs a qualitative approach with vernacular discourse analysis methods. Primary data were sourced from a 22-minute-22-second documentary produced by the Balai Pelestarian Nilai Budaya Papua (2020), analyzed through narrative transcription, identification of visual symbols, open coding, axial coding, and theoretical interpretation based on the Two-Step Flow theory and the concept of vernacular media. The findings reveal that the ritual prohibition symbolized by the “kayul larangan” is not merely a sign of marine closure for ecological purposes but also a political statement asserting indigenous territorial claims. Indigenous opinion leaders play a strategic role as cultural communicators and as drivers of subtle resistance against external interventions. These results affirm that local wisdom-based conservation in Papua is not solely ecological but also constitutes a political discourse arena projecting cultural identity and indigenous rights. This study contributes theoretically to cultural communication studies, particularly in analyzing vernacular media as instruments of local political resistance.

The issue of women's status in Islamic family law has remained a subject of ongoing debate, particularly when examined through the interpretation of Surah An-Nisa verse 34, which designates men as leaders (qawwam) within the family. This study aims to analyze the verse using an interdisciplinary approach that integrates classical and contemporary Qur’anic exegesis with feminist theory. This approach not only explores the dynamics of interpretation from traditional scholars such as al-Tabari and Ibn Kathir to modern thinkers like Amina Wadud, but also critically examines how various strands of feminism—liberal, radical, and Islamic—provide analytical frameworks to challenge patriarchal structures in Islamic family law. This research employs a qualitative method through library research, supported by normative and juridical-historical approaches. The findings reveal that Surah An-Nisa verse 34 can be understood in a more egalitarian manner when interpreted in light of evolving social contexts, without disregarding the fundamental principles of Sharia. The study concludes that integrating Qur’anic interpretation with feminist perspectives offers the potential for a more just, inclusive, and contextually responsive understanding of Islamic family law in addressing gender equality in contemporary society.

The adoption of PSAK 116 changes the accounting treatment of leases by recognising right-of-use assets and lease liabilities, replacing operating lease expenses with depreciation and interest. These changes have a direct impact on ability-to-pay financial ratios such as Debt Service Coverage Ratio (DSCR) and Net Debt to EBITDA. This study analyses the financial statements of PT Mitra Adiperkasa Tbk (MAPA) for 2019-2024 using a descriptive-comparative and simulation approach in case PSAK 116 is not applied. The results show a technical increase in EBITDA due to PSAK 116, which has an effect on the apparent improvement of DSCR and Net Debt to EBITDA. Simulations using the PSAK 30 approach show more conservative and realistic ratios. These findings highlight the importance of understanding the impact of accounting standards on ratio interpretation and credit decision-making.

This study examines the implementation of the Sigalovada Sutta as a form of ancestral devotion within the Nyadran Dauwang tradition practiced by the Buddhist community in Depok Hamlet, Java. Grounded in the understanding that religion and culture are deeply intertwined, the research aims to explore how Buddhist doctrinal values are actualized through local communal rituals and how these practices contribute to social cohesion, environmental stewardship, and cultural continuity. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews with religious leaders, elders, and community members, and analysis of ritual documentation. Triangulation of methods and sources was applied to enhance the credibility and depth of interpretation. The findings reveal that Nyadran Dauwang consists of four interrelated components: communal cleaning of irrigation canals (Susuk Wangang), ritual journeys accompanied by offerings and food sharing, interfaith prayer gatherings, and Wayang Kulit performances. These practices embody key Buddhist values such as spiritual friendship, loving-kindness, compassion, ethical reciprocity, and collective merit-making, as articulated in the Sigalovada Sutta. The tradition also reinforces respect for ancestors, strengthens intergenerational bonds, promotes ecological awareness, and fosters harmony in a pluralistic religious setting. Rather than functioning as a rigid doctrinal text, the Sigalovada Sutta operates as a living ethical framework that guides communal life through culturally resonant forms. In conclusion, the study demonstrates that Nyadran Dauwang represents a contextualized enactment of Buddhist ethics that integrates religious teachings with local cultural heritage. This integration offers an important model for Buddhist religious education, cultural preservation, and community-based approaches to social and environmental sustainability.
