This study evaluates the impact of remote-mentoring programs on prospective teacher preparedness and self-efficacy during their initial teacher training. Teacher preparation is a critical element in developing effective educators, and mentoring plays a pivotal role in enhancing the professional development and confidence of novice teachers. With the growing trend of remote learning, particularly due to the COVID-19 pandemic, remote mentoring has emerged as an alternative to traditional face-to-face mentoring. The objective of this study was to assess how remote mentoring influences prospective teachers’ readiness to teach and their belief in their teaching abilities. Through a quasi-experimental design, the study compares two groups of prospective teachers: one group receiving remote mentoring and another group without it. The data were collected using self-efficacy questionnaires and in-depth interviews, focusing on participants' perceived teaching readiness, confidence, and experiences with remote mentoring. The findings suggest that remote mentoring significantly enhanced teaching self-efficacy and preparedness compared to the non-mentored group. While remote mentoring provided flexibility and accessibility, challenges such as technological barriers and the lack of personal interaction were identified. The study concludes that remote mentoring can be an effective tool for teacher preparation, particularly in areas where traditional mentoring is difficult to implement. Recommendations include the use of blended approaches, combining online mentoring with occasional face-to-face interactions, to overcome the limitations of remote learning. Further research is suggested to explore the long-term effects of remote mentoring on teacher performance and to compare mentoring practices across different disciplines and regions.

Banking is crucial in efforts to prevent corruption, serving as the frontline in financial management and transactions. This article examines the role of education and training in combating corruption within the banking sector. The study aims to demonstrate that corruption in banking can undermine public trust and economic stability. I employ a literature review and observations of education and training initiatives aimed at corruption prevention in banking. Key issues identified include employees' inadequate understanding of work ethics and anti-corruption policies, along with insufficient systematic training. This research analyzes various education and training programs implemented in banks and assesses their effectiveness in enhancing employee awareness and commitment to anti-corruption practices. I highlight that comprehensive education and continuous employee training are essential for significantly mitigating the risk of corruption in banking by fostering a transparent and ethical organizational culture. It is critical for banking institutions to enhance anti-corruption awareness among their employees. Training programs should engage all employee levels and include regular evaluations to assess their effectiveness. Ultimately, the goal is to create a safer banking environment free from corrupt practices.

Real Work Lecture (KKN) is a community service program by students that aims to empower the community with a cross-disciplinary and sectoral approach. The KKN program in Telaga Jernih Village, Secanggang District, Langkat Regency, aims to overcome the problem of monotonous hereditary livelihoods and open up new business opportunities through economic empowerment and entrepreneurship. Before the program was implemented, most villagers relied on the agricultural sector, especially oil palm and rice, which made the village economy vulnerable to price fluctuations and environmental conditions. This program focused on socialization about livelihood diversification, entrepreneurial skills training, and reducing plastic waste by converting it into products with economic value. Through this training, the community was invited to see local potential that could be developed into new business opportunities. The results of the implementation of this KKN showed an increase in community understanding of the importance of business diversification and the application of skills acquired in starting small businesses in the fields of agricultural processing and plastic waste recycling. Several residents have started new businesses supported by the skills taught during the training. However, several challenges such as low digital literacy and limited access to capital are still obstacles to business development. Therefore, a follow-up program is needed that focuses on developing digital skills and access to capital to support the sustainability of the business that has been pioneered. Overall, this KKN program has succeeded in providing a positive impact on the Telaga Jernih Village community and can be a model for local potential-based economic empowerment in other villages.
