The study used a qualitative methodology and collected data from various sources by means of interviews, observations and analyzing related documents. The aim is to evaluate the institutions established by BAPQAH SIKA North Sumatra, namely education and training for Calligraphy, Hafiz-hafizhah and Qari-qariah. With this data collection method, it was found that routine education and training was carried out, except on Saturday nights, at no cost. However, educational management is not yet fully professional, especially in a curriculum that is not yet clearly structured. In the teaching and learning process, various methods such as demonstration, muthala'ah, qiraat, Wahdah for tahfiz, and assignments for Arabic calligraphy are applied. Despite facing limited financial resources which make it difficult to recruit professional teachers, education and training continues to run effectively. Students who excel in the MTQ event demonstrate the quality of education provided, even though most of the teachers are students who are experienced and have excelled in the same event.

This research uses a quasi experimental research method. With a sample of 60 class VIII students taken using the cluster random sampling technique. This research involved a control class group (drawing using conventional techniques) and an experimental class group (drawing using video tutorials). Based on the research results, the average pretest score for the experimental and control classes was 61 and 64 and the average posttest score for the experimental and control classes was 81 and 74. The results of the calculation of the hypothesis test (t test) showed that Lcount = 0.117 and posttest/tutorial technique Lcount = 0.000. Ltable at the significance level (α) = 0.05 and the number (n) = 60 students is 0.114. This means that the pretest/conventional technique Lcount (0.017) < Ltable (0.114), and the posttest/tutorial technique Lcount (0.000) < Ltable (0.114). It can be concluded that there is a significant influence from the use of video tutorial media via YouTube on the level of skill in learning to draw roses in class VIII SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Medan, North Sumatra.

Economic growth is one of the benchmarks for the success of development or increasing welfare in the government of a region in the economic sector as measured by the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP). It has time series data that often fluctuates so that the appropriate method is nonparametric regression. This study also aims to determine the most influential factors for economic growth in North Sumatra in 2019-2021 using the MARS model, using secondary data published by BPS for 2019-2021. The MARS model is obtained by obtaining a combination of BF, MI, and MO values that have a minimum Generalized Cross Validation (GCV) value. The results of this study indicate that the best MARS model is a combination of BF=28, MI=1, and MO=1 with a GCV value of 8.42E+06. Therefore there are five of the seven variables that have a significant effect on economic growth in North Sumatra, namely population (X_7 ) with an interest rate of 100%, domestic investment (X_5) of 76.86%, local revenue (X_1) of 31.14%, allocated funds special (X_3) of 28.89%, general allocation funds (X_2) of 23.14%.
