The development of wearable technology, especially smartwatches, opens up great opportunities in preventive health monitoring, especially in rural areas such as Sembung Village, Wringinanom, Gresik, where access to health services is limited. However, this technology is still alien to the local community. Preliminary surveys show that the majority of citizens, including health cadres, have never used or even seen a smartwatch in person, and view it as a luxury and irrelevant item. In fact, the potential of smartwatches as “digital health assistants” is huge from tracking heart rate, blood oxygen levels (SpO₂), stress levels, to physical activity reminders that are essential for early detection of health disorders. This service activity aims to improve digital literacy and adoption of smartwatch technology through a participatory educational approach and direct assistance. Implementation methods include: (1) coordination with the village government and health workers, (2) Interactive socialization using local languages, (3) step-by-step practical training, (4) simulation of application in the field, and (5) pre-test and post-test evaluation of 27 participants (25 health cadres, 1 midwife, 1 nurse). The results showed significant improvements: function understanding from the original value of 1.8 increased to 4.2, consumption interest from the original value of 2.1 increased to 4.0, benefit perception from the original value of 1.9 increased to 4.3, self confidence from the original value of 1.5 increased to 3.8, and digital literacy awareness from the original value of 2.0 increased to 4.1. The hands-on approach proved effective in changing participants ' mindset from skeptical to enthusiastic, proving that the digital divide is not due to incompetence, but the lack of access to contextual education. The implication is that smartwatch has the potential to become a strategic tool for village health cadres in early detection and real-time data-based health education, provided that it is supported by sustainable mentoring.

This research examines the role of family quality time in dealing with children with special needs (ABK) from the perspective of John 9:2-3. Based on analysis of the text, this research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with library study methods to collect and analyze data from various relevant sources. The results of the discussion show that children with special needs are God's initial creation, and there is a need for a deep understanding of human diversity and rejection of stigmatization related to children's conditions. In this context, the role of the family is very important in supporting, protecting and treating children with special needs with appropriate love and respect. The perspective of John 9:2-3 shows that the physical or mental condition of children with special needs is not the result of sin, but is an opportunity to demonstrate God's power and demonstrate God's love and deep concern for children. Therefore, implementing the role of family quality time involves several approaches, including giving full attention when together, involving children in family activities, and reading and meditating on the Bible together. So, this approach has great potential to promote the well-being and development of children with special needs, as well as strengthen healthy and inclusive intrafamilial relationships. Thus, the role of family quality time in dealing with children with special needs is important morally and spiritually, as well as in forming a strong foundation for children's growth and happiness in the family context.

The development of information technology has encouraged institutions, including hospitals, to adopt digital systems to improve operational efficiency. One important aspect is the employee attendance system, which previously relied on fingerprints. This method has limitations, such as difficulty detecting when fingers are not in ideal condition and causing queues during peak hours. This research aims to design and implement an Android-based attendance system using the Eigenface facial recognition method as a faster, safer, and more accurate alternative. Eigenface works by extracting facial features using Principal Component Analysis (PCA), thus being able to efficiently recognize individual identities. The system was developed with MySQL database integration and tested on employees of Khalishah General Hospital. The implementation results showed that the system can recognize faces with a good level of accuracy and increase the effectiveness of attendance recording. Furthermore, the use of facial-based attendance can minimize the potential for fraud and increase user comfort because it does not require physical contact. Thus, the Eigenface method has proven feasible to be implemented as a modern attendance solution to support employee attendance management in hospital work environments and other institutions.

The family plays a central role in shaping children’s growth and well-being, particularly in marginalized communities where access to education and healthcare is limited. This study aims to describe the forms of family support in improving the well-being of children at Sanggar Anak Sungai Deli, a non-formal educational institution located along the banks of the Deli River in Medan City. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, the research involved observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The informants included families of children, sanggar administrators, and children actively participating in the program. The findings reveal that family support is manifested in six main indicators: (1) positive emotional relationships, (2) provision of safety and comfort, (3) instilling positive values, (4) support for education and talent development, (5) protection from negative influences, and (6) partial fulfillment of basic needs. These supports contribute significantly to children’s emotional, social, and intellectual well-being, although the physical aspect remains less fulfilled due to economic constraints. Despite limited financial resources, families demonstrate care and commitment to supporting their children’s development. Sanggar Anak Sungai Deli serves as an essential partner by providing a safe and supportive learning environment. This study concludes that family involvement, combined with community-based interventions such as SASUDE, is crucial in ensuring holistic child well-being. The implications highlight the importance of strengthening collaboration between families, community organizations, and government to address gaps in child welfare programs in marginalized areas.

This study was motivated by the high number of stunted children found in stunting locations, namely in Kelurahan Kahean and Sigulang-gulang, Kecamatan Siantar Utara, Kota Pematangsiantar. This study also found indications of inadequate parenting patterns in terms of nutrition and child health care. This condition is a serious concern because stunting not only affects children's physical growth but also influences their cognitive development and future quality of life. To understand this phenomenon in depth, this study used a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, literature studies, and documentation, involving six main informants. The results of the study revealed that 4 of the 6 parents with stunted children practiced inadequate parenting, particularly neglectful parenting, which was the most dominant parenting style. This neglectful parenting style was characterized by a lack of adequate supervision and attention to providing nutritious food and health care for children. Parents who apply this parenting style tend to consistently ignore their children's nutritional and health needs, thereby increasing the risk of stunting. In addition, some parents also apply a permissive parenting style, which is characterized by allowing children to freely choose food without clear boundaries or rules. As a result, children often consume unhealthy foods and have irregular eating schedules. In addition to parenting factors, limited socioeconomic conditions also exacerbate the risk of stunting. Parents' low level of knowledge about balanced nutrition and child health care further increases the likelihood of children experiencing stunting. This shows that economic and educational factors are major obstacles in efforts to prevent stunting in the Kecamatan Siantar Utara.

This study aims to examine the relationship between paternal involvement and bullying victimization in Pharmacy students in West Sumatra. Using a quantitative approach, this study involved 320 respondents selected from various Pharmacy colleges in the region. The research instrument was independently developed by the researcher, with the paternal involvement scale compiled based on Lamb's (2010) theory which includes the dimensions of direct involvement, emotional availability, and paternal responsibility. Meanwhile, the scale of bullying victimization refers to the theory of Smith et al. (1999), which includes forms of physical, verbal, social, and cyber victimization. Data analysis was conducted using the Pearson correlation technique, which showed a significant negative association between paternal involvement and bullying victimization (r = -0.728; p = 0.000). These findings indicate that the higher the level of father's involvement in a child's life, the lower the likelihood of the child experiencing bullying victimization. On the other hand, low involvement of fathers can increase the risk of students becoming victims of bullying. The results of this study make an important contribution to understanding the role of fathers as a protective factor against victimization behavior, as well as being the basis for the development of family interventions in the context of higher education. This research also opens up space for further studies on family dynamics and student mental health.

This study investigates the relationship between leg muscle power and the effectiveness of volleyball smash performance among players aged 16–18 years at Jaya Volleyball Club (JVC) Lubuklinggau. Volleyball is a sport that requires a combination of physical strength, technical mastery, and tactical coordination, with the smash being one of the most decisive offensive techniques. The research was motivated by the observation that many junior athletes at JVC had not yet maximized their smash performance, particularly in terms of accuracy and power, which are strongly influenced by leg muscle explosiveness. The study employed a quantitative approach using purposive sampling with 35 participants selected from a population of 60 athletes. Leg muscle power was measured using the vertical jump test, while smash ability was assessed using a structured volleyball smash test. Data analysis was conducted with SPSS version 23, including descriptive statistics, normality tests using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov method, and Bivariate Correlation analysis (two-tailed). The results revealed a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.652, with a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05), indicating a statistically significant and strong relationship between leg muscle power and smash performance. These findings confirm that explosive power in the legs contributes greatly to the ability of young volleyball players to execute effective smashes. Athletes with higher vertical jump capacity tend to produce more accurate, powerful, and successful smashes, thereby increasing their contribution to team performance. The results emphasize the importance of integrating targeted leg muscle power training into volleyball coaching programs. Coaches and clubs are encouraged to design structured strength and plyometric training regimens to optimize players’ performance. Furthermore, this study provides valuable insights for athlete development programs and contributes to the broader understanding of physical conditioning in volleyball.

Earnings management is a deliberate strategy based on multidimensional considerations. The impact of earnings management practices is not necessarily positive, so mitigation measures are necessary to mitigate any negative impacts. This article aims to observe and analyze research developments regarding the role of the Board of Directors (BOD) in reducing discretionary accruals in Islamic banking. This article uses a qualitative literature study approach by analyzing articles from previous studies based on criteria that include article quality and research focus. Analysis of the answers to the research questions is conducted based on the results of empirical research in previous studies. Based on the analysis, a review of previous articles provides a strong argument that the role of the Board of Directors (BOD) plays a significant and complex role in influencing earnings management practices in the Islamic banking sector. The effectiveness of the BOD is not universal, but is highly dependent on its specific attributes, including competence, size, and activeness. It has been proven that competence is the attribute that plays the most role in reducing discretionary accruals. Meanwhile, characteristics such as board size and activeness show mixed results, indicating that mere physical and administrative presence is not enough without being balanced with substantive expertise, independence, and effective board work dynamics. This complexity is exacerbated by inconsistent findings and limited scope of studies on accrual techniques. Therefore, strengthening governance in Islamic banking must focus on improving the quality of human resources on the board of directors, especially in terms of technical expertise in finance and accounting. There is an academic gap for future research by exploring moderating variables, real manipulation techniques, and the dynamics of interactions between governance elements in the dual structure that characterizes Islamic banking
