Urban waste management has become a complex challenge due to population growth, urbanization, and economic activities contributing to higher waste generation. Effective waste management systems are required to reduce waste disposed at final disposal sites. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of waste management at the TPS 3R Pedalangan Bersinar facility in Semarang City by examining waste separation from the source. The research applied a quantitative approach using mass balance analysis to assess the balance between incoming waste, processed waste, and residual waste in the system. Primary data were collected through field observations, interviews, and operational monitoring for six consecutive days, while secondary data were obtained from the Semarang Environmental Agency. Results show community-based waste banks in Pedalangan demonstrate a high level of effectiveness with a recovery factor reaching 100%, indicating optimal recycling performance and strong community participation. Meanwhile, the TPS 3R facility processes an average waste volume of 16.61 m³/day with reduction of 10.32 m³/day and residual waste of 6.29 m³/day, resulting in a recovery factor of approximately 0.62 categorized as moderate effectiveness. Therefore, strengthening household waste separation, improving operational management, and increasing community participation are recommended to enhance waste reduction and support sustainable urban waste management systems.

Abstract: The digital era demands that every individual possess visual literacy competencies, but in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren), access to technology is often limited to maintain focus on worship. The main problem at the Salafiyah Al-Furqon Islamic Boarding School in Sawangan, Magelang Regency, is the digital skills gap among 12th-grade students. This is caused by the boarding school's policy of only allowing mobile phone use during semester breaks, leaving students lacking practical multimedia skills prior to graduation. This community service activity aims to provide a solution through basic photography and videography training as a soft skill for alumni independence. The method used is a workshop that combines theoretical explanations and direct practice (experiential learning). The results of this activity show a significant increase in students' technical competency; participants are able to operate smartphone cameras with stable shooting techniques, understand the principles of visual composition (such as the rule of thirds and leading lines), and are able to perform basic video editing using mobile-based software applications. Through this training, Islamic boarding school graduates are expected to become individuals who are adaptive to technological developments and able to utilize visual media as a means of creative economics and digital da'wah after graduation.

This article examines the implementation of a sharia financial literacy education program aimed at supporting community economic development at the Balai Perkumpulan Sub PPKBD Tambakkemerakan, Krian, driven by the persistently low level of community literacy regarding Islamic finance concepts and practices, which has the potential to impede the optimization of Islamic principles-based economic well-being. Employing the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, this study engaged community members actively throughout the processes of problem identification, program implementation, and evaluation, with activities conducted through socialization sessions, interactive discussions, and practical demonstrations of sharia-compliant financial management in real-life contexts. The findings indicate a measurable improvement in community comprehension of Islamic finance fundamentals, including the prohibition of riba (usury/interest), the importance of financial planning, and the utilization of sharia-compliant financial institutions, alongside observable attitudinal shifts toward more prudent and Islamically normative financial behavior. These outcomes suggest that the program contributes positively to fostering community economic independence and strengthening the application of Islamic economic principles at the household level.

Preeclampsia remains a major contributor to maternal morbidity and mortality, particularly in developing countries such as Indonesia. Early detection and integrated management at the primary healthcare level are essential to prevent disease progression and improve maternal outcomes.  Modifiable risk factors such as maternal obesity, inadequate calcium intake, and poor clinical management contribute significantly to disease progression (WHO, 2021; Zhang et al., 2020). This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of an Integrated Maternal Health Model (IMHM) combining risk assessment, nutritional intervention, and clinical management for early prevention and control of preeclampsia in primary healthcare settings. A quasi-experimental cohort study was conducted among 104 pregnant women, consisting of 52 preeclamptic and 52 normotensive participants in community health centers in Medan, Indonesia. Data were collected across four antenatal visits, including blood pressure measurements, proteinuria (dipstick), calcium intake, supplementation adherence, and antihypertensive therapy. Statistical analyses included bivariate and longitudinal tests. The results showed that maternal obesity, history of preeclampsia, and hypertension were significant risk factors. Adequate calcium intake demonstrated a protective effect against preeclampsia (p < 0.05), consistent with recent evidence indicating that calcium supplementation can reduce the risk of preeclampsia by up to 49%. However, calcium supplementation did not significantly influence blood pressure among normotensive pregnant women. Antihypertensive therapy, particularly intensive nifedipine regimens, showed significant differences in blood pressure patterns across visits (p < 0.05). In addition, proteinuria levels significantly decreased over time (p < 0.001), indicating improvement in renal function. In conclusion, the IMHM is effective in improving maternal outcomes through a multi-component approach integrating clinical, nutritional, and monitoring strategies. This model provides a practical and scalable framework for early prevention and management of preeclampsia in primary healthcare settings.

A faith-based marriage strengthening program is essential for building family resilience in urban congregations facing high divorce rates and declining marital quality. This community service activity aimed to revitalize the marital bonds of 22 couples in the Pria Sejati Bandung community and GPPS Agape Bandung congregation through the "Reborn Marriage" program. Using a participatory action research approach, a team of 12 facilitators implemented three main stages: initial coordination to identify needs and plan together with the community; an intensive one-day intervention consisting of teachings on grace, agape love, and divine purpose of marriage, along with testimony sharing, footwashing ritual, and gift giving; and a marriage commitment renewal ceremony. The results showed 100% attendance rate of all registered couples, active participation in every coaching session, and qualitative findings from focus group discussions including renewed spiritual intimacy, mutual forgiveness between spouses, and alignment of marital visions based on divine values. A total of 86% of couples expressed willingness to participate in regular follow-up mentoring, and local leaders emerged among participants who are ready to facilitate small groups after the program. Discussions confirmed that combining biblical teachings on agape love with experiential symbolic rituals can holistically transform marital relationships. This community-based intervention proves replicable in other local communities and churches in urban settings, especially those seeking to strengthen family resilience through integrated pastoral care and participatory action.

The development of Pantai Indah Kapuk 2 (PIK 2) presents serious issues, including eviction, the loss of traditional livelihoods, and the marginalization of local communities within a modernization agenda that disregards social justice and sustainability. This research questions the extent to which the dominant modernization bias influences the socio-economic conditions of the surrounding community, as well as how public participation practices are implemented in the planning and execution of the project. The PIK 2 project has led to social inequality, the deprivation of rights, and environmental degradation, illustrating a pattern of systemic exploitation of coastal communities through the economic and political power of development elites. The dominant development theory framework proposed by Melkote and Steeves is used to examine modernization bias, supplemented by Islamic concepts such as mustadh’afin and ghasab to strengthen the social justice perspective. In this study, the author employs a qualitative case study approach, utilizing in-depth interviews, field observations, and documentation involving affected residents, community leaders, and policymakers. The results of the analysis indicate very low levels of public participation, instances of intimidation during land acquisition, and a significant loss of access to employment and basic facilities for the community. The conclusion of this research emphasizes the need for policy reform to ensure that development is more transparent, participatory, and equitable, in order to protect the rights of local communities from dominant and exploitative development patterns.

Financial literacy is an essential aspect in supporting community financial management, particularly in rural and indigenous communities such as Kanekes Village (Baduy). Although the community has begun to access financial services and digital technology, their ability to manage finances remains limited. Therefore, this community service activity aims to identify the level of financial literacy and to encourage public awareness of better financial management. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach through in-depth interviews and field observations. The results show that the community, especially in Baduy Luar, has utilized social media such as TikTok Live and Instagram for product marketing and has adopted digital payment systems such as QRIS through Bank BRI, although cash transactions still dominate. The main sources of income come from micro-enterprises based on local potential, including handicrafts, traditional clothing, accessories, and food products. However, the community generally lacks financial recording practices and structured financial planning, causing income to be directly spent on daily needs. The activity also indicates the emergence of initial awareness regarding financial management and highlights the role of youth as local leaders in adopting digital technology. Therefore, strengthening financial literacy is crucial to improving financial behavior and supporting sustainable economic transformation within the community.

The Labor-Intensive Housing Program is one of the Surabaya City Government’s policies aimed at reducing poverty and unemployment through labor-intensive community empowerment. This study aims to describe and analyze the implementation of the Labor-Intensive Housing Program (RPK) at the Pitstop business unit in Lidah Kulon Village, Lakarsantri Subdistrict, Surabaya City. This study employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, utilizing Van Meter and Van’s policy implementation theory. Primary data were collected through interviews and observations, while secondary data were derived from official documents and relevant publications. The results showed that the implementation of the Pitstop Labor Intensive Housing Program has not yet been optimal. In terms of policy standards and objectives, the program’s goals have been clearly defined but have not yet been fully achieved. Regarding resources, the availability of facilities and funding is adequate, but there are still limitations in human resources, particularly skilled technicians in the automotive repair field. Inter organizational communication has taken place but has not been intensive enough to support business sustainability. Characteristics of the implementing agents indicate that the structure of the Labor-Intensive Housing team has been clearly defined; however, implementation in the field has not been optimal due to weak coordination and communication. Economic, social, and political conditions-such as a less-than-strategic business location and high competition from similar businesses-have also contributed to the low number of customers. Meanwhile, the disposition of the implementers demonstrates a positive attitude in supporting the Labor-Intensive Housing program. The Labor-Intensive Housing Program must be supported by professional mechanics through education, certification, and collaboration with the private sector and training institutions to ensure the quality of services. In addition, building public trust, coordination among stakeholders, and intensive support through monitoring and evaluation are key to the success and sustainability of the Labor-Intensive Housing Program.

This community service activity was carried out through the Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) program at SDN 30 V Koto Kampung Dalam, Padang Pariaman Regency, West Sumatra. The activity aimed to restore the psychological condition and learning spirit of students who experienced trauma following a fire disaster. Five educational games were implemented, namely sendok tepung (spoon and flour), pipet aqua (straw transfer), naga balon (balloon dragon), biskuit Roma (biscuit game), and joget balon (balloon dance). These games were selected to stimulate physical, social, emotional, and mental aspects of students. The instruction was delivered directly using a microphone and speaker system, with a storytelling approach that sparked imagination rather than evoking pity. The impact was measured through behavioral observation, with positive indicators including students transitioning from drooping posture to upright, laughter replacing silence, and passive children beginning to vocalize and cheer. Results indicated that educational game-based socialization is effective as a non-therapeutic initial psychosocial recovery strategy for disaster-affected children. This activity demonstrates that simple and participatory methods can significantly contribute to restoring children's learning motivation and psychological resilience post-disaster.
