Economic empowerment of rural communities through the strengthening of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) is a crucial pillar in achieving national economic independence. One of the fundamental obstacles faced by MSMEs in rural areas is financial exclusion due to low digital literacy and dependence on conventional cash transaction systems. The Community Service Program (KKN) of students from the State Islamic University of North Sumatra (UIN SU) in Pematang Tengah Village was designed to bridge this gap by optimizing the Indonesian Standard Quick Response Code (QRIS). Through an intensive participatory mentoring approach, students acted as agents of digital transformation who educated, trained, and facilitated 10 local MSME actors in adopting non-cash payment technology. The results of the program show a significant shift from digital skepticism to digital trust. The implementation of QRIS has been proven to increase operational efficiency, financial management accuracy, and strengthen the image of business modernity in the eyes of consumers. This article emphasizes that the role of students is not merely as information deliverers, but as catalysts of social capital that is crucial for the sustainability of digitalization at the village level.

This research aims to describe the process of transforming Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) toward a digital economy through QRIS (Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard) training and the creation of creative banners as promotional media in Batu Karang Village, Karo Regency. Digital transformation has become an essential need for MSMEs to adapt to changes in consumer behavior and rapid technological development. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach focusing on training materials and the implementation process, without using quantitative data or interview results. The findings indicate that QRIS training provides MSME actors with conceptual and practical understanding of digital payment systems that are efficient, secure, and convenient. In addition, creative banner development functions as a visual promotional tool that strengthens business identity and enhances consumer attraction. The integration of QRIS with creative banners creates synergy between digital payment systems and promotional strategies that are relevant to the conditions of rural MSMEs. Overall, this research demonstrates that digital-based training combined with creative promotional media can serve as an effective strategy to enhance MSME readiness in facing the digital economy era in a sustainable manner.

Digitalization is an effort to utilize digital-based technology to transform previously conventional work systems into more efficient and effective ones, including in the management of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). This study aims to apply digitalization to corn-based coffe MSMEs in Talang Balai Baru 1 Village, Tanjung Raja District, Ogan Ilir Regency. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. The research findings indicate that the production and marketing activities of corn coffe MSMEs still use conventional methods. The implementation of digitaization has not been optimally implemented due to the low digital literacy of business owners and limited time in business managemen. Nevertheless, the initial implementation of digitalization through the use of social media and online sales platforms has had a positive impact in the form of expanding market reach and increasing ease of communication between producers and consumers. Thus, the digitalization of corn coffe MSME products has great potential to increase competitiveness and business sustainability if implemented gradually and continuously. .

Economic development in rural areas, specifically, aims to improve community welfare. However, in practice, many challenges remain, such as limited technical skills, minimal innovation, and low community capacity to create and develop productive businesses. One way to address these challenges is through human resource empowerment. Gunung Tinggi Village has the potential to develop creative businesses, particularly among housewives, such as dishwashing soap. This product is a household necessity that is used routinely, so demand tends to be sustainable. Therefore, a SWOT analysis was used to provide sustainability recommendations for this business. The methods used included service learning (SL) with a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach to ensure active participant involvement and the program's alignment with the community's real needs. The results showed that the initial impact of this Community Service Program (PKM) activity was evident in the production of marketable products and the opening of new business opportunities, which directly contributed to the diversification of income sources and increased family economic independence. Furthermore, the application of SWOT analysis proved effective as a tool in formulating sustainability strategies for the micro-enterprises being developed.

The rupiah plays a vital role as a symbol of national identity and sovereignty, but awareness among rural communities about its function and importance is often limited. In Kutalimbaru Village, the main challenges identified are low monetary literacy, which results in physical damage to money and a lack of awareness about counterfeit money. Through the Real Work Lecture (KKN) program, community service efforts were carried out with the aim of internalizing the values of “Love, Pride, Understanding (CBP) of the Rupiah.” The approach used was community-based education through interactive workshops and practical demonstrations on money care techniques and an introduction to the security features of the Rupiah. Findings in the field show a transformation in the community's attitude; from being indifferent to being more careful in handling paper money and better understanding the role of the Rupiah in economic stability. This program has succeeded in increasing the financial literacy of citizens while strengthening the spirit of nationalism through appreciation of the national currency. Information systems are an important element in the business world that helps businesses increase work efficiency and reduce human error. In practice, many businesses still produce financial reports manually. Manual preparation of financial reports is inefficient and tends to have a higher potential for delays, lateness, or errors in data entry. This makes the financial reports presented inaccurate and unreliable as a basis for making decisions. To address this problem, a community service program was implemented by designing an accounting system using Microsoft Access, which provides various features that can help users in data processing. The method carried out starts with observation, system design, and evaluation by the partner. The result of implementing this program is that the system designed in Microsoft Access successfully accelerated the work process for partners, making the preparation of financial reports more efficient and timely. The financial reports presented also became more accurate and reliable.

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are a fundamental pillar of the Indonesian economy, but their potential is often hampered by the digital divide, especially in rural areas. The Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) initiative is a way for the government to encourage digital transformation and make payments more accessible to everyone. This article aims to document and analyse the process and impact of a community service programme that facilitated the adoption of QRIS among 10 MSMEs in Pematang Tengah Village, Tanjung Pura Sub-district. This activity used the Community-Based Participatory Action Research (CBPAR) method, which emphasises active collaboration between the service team and MSME partners. The process included participatory planning, collaborative action in the form of intensive training and mentoring, and joint evaluation. The results showed that all 10 MSME partners successfully adopted and used QRIS for daily transactions. The significant benefits included increased transaction efficiency, improved financial record-keeping, and a more modern business image. The main challenges identified were initial doubts about the technology and unstable internet connectivity, which were successfully mitigated through personalised mentoring based on trust. It was concluded that the CBPAR (Community-Based Participatory Action Research) method is a highly effective framework for implementing technological innovation in rural MSME communities because it not only addresses technical skill gaps but also builds crucial social capital such as trust and digital confidence.

This study aims to analyze the role of UINSU’s Community Service Program (KKN) students in enhancing Islamic entrepreneurial awareness among the residents of Pahang Village, Talawi District, Batu Bara Regency. The KKN program serves as a platform for applying academic knowledge while empowering communities through educational, persuasive, and participatory approaches. The students introduced fundamental concepts of Islamic entrepreneurship, including principles of justice, honesty, sustainability, and the avoidance of riba, gharar, and maisir. Through a series of activities such as seminars, micro-business training sessions, financial management mentoring based on sharia principles, and simple business model simulations, the villagers began to show improved understanding of Islamic economic values. Moreover, the active involvement of students created an inclusive learning environment that was accessible to various community groups. The findings indicate that the presence of KKN students contributed positively to cultivating entrepreneurial motivation, particularly among youth and micro-business actors. This improvement was reflected in changes in mindset, interest in initiating halal businesses, and increased awareness of applying sharia principles in daily economic activities. Thus, the KKN program not only provides practical experience for students but also offers a tangible contribution to strengthening sharia-based economic empowerment at the village level.
