This research is motivated by changes in students' academic communication patterns due to the rapid development of digital technology, which has the potential to affect the consistency of formal language use. In academic literacy, formal language plays a crucial role as a marker of professionalism and the accuracy of scientific communication. This study aims to analyze the shift in formal language use in students' academic communication and identify the factors influencing it in the digital era. The research method used a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. Data were collected through an online questionnaire in the form of open-ended questions to students at the University of Muhammadiyah Maumere who actively use digital media in academic communication. Data were analyzed by grouping respondents' answers and identifying language usage patterns. The results show that students understand the differences between formal and informal language, but their application in digital academic communication is not yet consistent. The shift is characterized by the use of abbreviations, slang, and inconsistencies in linguistic rules influenced by instant communication habits, social environments, and the nature of digital media. These findings emphasize the importance of continuously strengthening formal language literacy and academic communication ethics in higher education

The research subject are students in grades V and VI who actively use social media. To collect data, observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation were used. According to the research findings, various aspects of students lives are influenced by social media including learning behavior, social interactions, and communication patterns. Student interact more digitally than face to face, which can recude the quality of social relationships and increase risks such as anxiety, stress, and cyberbullying. Social media has positive benevits, such as increasing creativity and cultural knowledge, but excessive use without supervision can interfere with the development of students character and mental health. Therefore, parents and teachers must play an active role in guiding their students and improving their digital literacy.

This study aims to explore the influence of the family environment on children's language development, focusing on interactions between parents and children, reading habits, and emotional support in the family. The research method used was a qualitative approach with in-depth interview techniques involving parents as research subjects. The results revealed that a communicative and supportive family environment is the main basis for children in learning language. Habits such as inviting children to talk, reading books together, and providing emotional support are the main factors that influence children's language development. In the midst of the digital era, parents need to be smart in utilizing technology, by limiting the use of gadgets and prioritizing direct interaction. Consistent communication patterns and special activities such as reading together or role-playing have also proven to be very effective in supporting children's language development. Although there are challenges such as time constraints and children's interest in gadgets, parents can overcome them with creativity and patience. This study provides practical advice for parents in creating a family environment that supports children's language development.

The research results show that social and technological changes have brought about a shift in the use of Javanese, with the younger generation tending to switch to Indonesian or foreign languages ​​in daily communication. Factors such as education level, age, social stratification, and family attitudes influence language use preferences in society. In facing these changes, efforts to develop the Javanese language are very important to maintain local language and culture in this era of globalization.
