In a research context, a research title is usually translated into English to provide appropriate understanding for all readers. However, grammar mistakes in translating it often occur. This research focuses on the grammar mistakes found in research titles (English version) of Engineering students at one of the universities in West Java. This research focuses on 105 Engineering students’ research titles data and answers questions of what are the grammar mistakes found, and what are the students’ perceptions regarding the process of translating their titles. By analyzing the titles data, this research found that, out of 105 titles, there are 93 titles with grammar mistakes. These consist of excessive use of definite articles in 69 titles, improper use of prepositions in 22 titles, and improper phrases in 33 titles. Then, the Engineering students’ perceptions about their titles’ translating process were gained from interviews to 5 of them. They were worried about translating it themselves due to their limited understanding of English which made them rely more on translation machines such as Google Translate and ChatGPT without the process of reviewing the translation results’ meaning. The process of reviewing and increasing motivation that builds enthusiasm for learning grammar are needed.

In a research context, a research title is usually translated into English to provide appropriate understanding for all readers. However, grammar mistakes in translating it often occur. Traditional phenomena of the slaughter of wedhus kendit in Java, especially Norowito village, Karanganyar Prefecture, Demak Districk, Central Java, associated with the flood disaster that occurred in March 2024. Ritual in this respect is not just a cultural or religious practice, it encompasses complex mythological, theological, and socio-cultural aspects. The myths and beliefs about the wedhus of the frogs associate it with the Bathara Kala and the traditions of the earth, as well as preventing and protecting from catastrophe. Some people consider it a sacred habit, but others regard it as superstition or misleading. The majority of the inhabitants of the village of Norowito believe in this ritual, as evidenced by their participation in the slaughter ceremony and their belief that the wedhus will protect them from scourges. They also view this ritual as a way to find salvation in everyday life. The aim of this study is to understand the origins, significance, and influence of the tradition of wedhus slaughter, as well as its impact on the identity and life of the Java people. By studying further in these practices, it is expected to better understand the cultural wisdom and beliefs that make up this tradition, and the values held firmly by the local communities in daily life.

The use of Javanese in society is an important challenge in an increasingly connected era of globalization. The phenomenon of diglossia, where two or more language variants are used in one language community, is important to research. This research aims to explore the dynamics of diglossia in Javanese-speaking communities using a sociolinguistic approach and literary studies. The literature study method is used to collect data from various relevant literary sources, including books, literature, notes and other sources. The data analyzed includes findings about the use of Javanese in various life contexts, factors that influence diglossia, and the social and cultural impact of changes in language use patterns. The research results show that social and technological changes have brought about a shift in the use of Javanese, with the younger generation tending to switch to Indonesian or foreign languages ​​in daily communication. Factors such as education level, age, social stratification, and family attitudes influence language use preferences in society. In facing these changes, efforts to develop the Javanese language are very important to maintain local language and culture in this era of globalization.

Learning in the digital era needs to be supported by various supporting facilities. Variations in student needs and school capabilities affect the differences in the procurement of relevant supporting facilities. This study aims to analyze learning support facilities in public and private schools in West Java. Data was collected by interviewing teachers from each school. The results of this study show that both schools have different facilities and facilities to support the digita era. SDIT Titian Ilmu has more equitable and complete digital facilities compared to SDN 087 Rancabolang. This shows that schools in Indonesia are uneven in terms of digital facilities, especially in public schools. Nevertheless, both schools have realized the importance of keeping up with the times to support the learning process. These schools have used digital learning to support the learning process. However, SDN 087 Rancabolang still has limited digital facilities due to the uneven distribution of facilities within the school which only provides one infocus that is used alternately and the internet (WIFI), while SDIT Titian Ilmu, the facilities and facilities are evenly distributed, namely infocus in each class and a computer lab. However, teachers at SDN 097 Rancabolang do not just let this digital-based learning continue, but they try to familiarize themselves with the use of this technology.

The Eyang Djoego Heritage Carnival tradition is a cultural activity that takes the form of tradition and is carried out every year. The heritage carnival activity was carried out by the community in Jugo Village, Kesamben District, Blitar Regency. This tradition is carried out every year on Legi Sunday in the month of Sela, this is the calculation of dates and months in Javanese tradition. The implementation of the Eyang Djoego Heritage Carnival Tradition is a form of respect for the village ancestor named Eyang Djoego and as a form of community gratitude because with his services he was able to make the residents of Jugo Village live prosperously and have enough because the harvest was so abundant. The focus of this research discusses the origins, procedures, what ubarampe is and the meaning of ubarampe, as well as the function of this traditional activity. This research uses the half-lisa folklore theory of James Danandjadja. The research design used is a qualitative descriptive method, the data sources used in the research are primary and secondary as well as oral and non-verbal data. The results of research from the Eyang Djoego Heritage Carnival Tradition produce meanings that are related to culture. This research discusses the origins of the heritage carnival tradition which originated and developed in Jugo Village. These traditional activities are also enlivened and supported by the people in Jugo Village.

A short story is a literary work in the form of prose that contains a conflict with a short, focused solution only on one incident or story. The most important thing in a short story is to reveal the author's events and ideas in such a way that the reader can understand and enjoy it. The short story "At the Pantura Crossing" by Tantri Pranash published on Kompas.com on December 11 2011 is a short story that represents social reality in the region Pantura (North Coast of Java). Precisely in the Patokbeusi area which is a prostitution area, which contains the dynamics of relationships between characters, social conflicts, and the values upheld in the film local community. The aim of this research is to analyze the content of Tantri Pranash's short story "In Pantura Intersection” using a literary sociology approach. In literary sociology, Literary works are seen as a reflection of social life and cannot be separated from consideration elements of fiction and social aspects in social life. This means studying literary sociology the relationship between literary works and people in society, as well as social processes. Method The research used in this research is a qualitative descriptive research method. With using reading and note-taking techniques as data collection techniques. This article discusses the comparison of Indonesian and Javanese phonology using descriptive qualitative methods by conducting analysis and comparison. The data observed is linguistic data which contains vowel and consonant elements in Indonesian and Javanese. Vowels are related to the height of the tongue, the movement of the tongue, strictures, and the shape of the lips. In comparative language science, Indonesian and Javanese have differences and similarities between them. One of the similarities is in the vowel phonemes. Both Indonesian and Javanese have five basic vowels, namely /a/, /i/, /u/, /e/, and /o/. Indonesian and Javanese also have 10 consonants, namely bilabial, labio-dental, apico-dental, apico-alveolar, apico-palatal, lamino-alveolar, lamino-palatal, medio-palatal, dorso-velar, and laryngeal.
