Abstract
This literature review examines the fundamental differences in the implementation of Tarawih prayers during the month of Ramadan between Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) and Muhammadiyah, using a phenomenological approach to religion. In this study, the researcher conducts a review of relevant and significant literature previously published on the topic. The research focus is to understand the differences in the number of Rak'ahs of Tarawih prayers and the Tarawih worship experiences perceived by congregants among both organizations. The findings of this study are based on the synthesis and critical analysis of the findings revealed in previous literature, including journal articles, books, and other relevant sources. Through this approach, the study aims to provide deeper insights into religious practices in the NU and Muhammadiyah communities and enrich understanding of the diversity of religious practices within Islam.
